Worldwide chaos reveals a larger scheme involving an illegal weapons cabal. The lives of friends Ben, Jack, and Kit, along with the critical information they uncover, become intricately connected to events across the continent. Their journey leads to the return of Palestine and triggers a catastrophic viral blackout. This escalation culminates in a high-stakes showdown on the White House lawn, where a panicked Secret Service takes drastic action to prevent a defiant president from executing a master plan that could ignite global insurrections.
Move over Greaney, Deaver and Baldacci, this newbie is stiff competition. The Camel Club, Gray Man, and Blue Nowhere are being left in the dust with this twisting page turner. A sweet surprise.
This new writer is going places. Talk about a page-turner, twists and curves you didn't see coming. The characters are very real and adventures galore. I can't wait for book II to see these characters again. This has everything in a modern todays world, it reflects her own peace activism and how we want things to turn out, the lengths we may have to go to to reach our goals. Grab it up.
Great new author, a true page turning thrill ride. Very unique style, love these characters, I got involved with them. Can't wait for what's in store next.
This is a fast-paced political thriller that mixes religious deception, extremist ideology, global politics. It begins with mysterious death in Canada, hinting at secrecy and betrayal linked to forged religious texts. Ben Banks gets involved in violence and conspiracy after discovering a body. Parallel to Ben's story is Nahla, a Palestinian activist whose suffering is exploited for political gain. Dr. Levy emerges as a manipulative leader aiming to use a fake scroll for power, supported by extremists and corrupt officials. It is injustice to let out the mystery or storyline of this book, it'll not give you the ride! However, I must say the book ends with unresolved issues, suggesting ongoing threats of insurrection. A nice read for those who loves thriller novels!
Global chaos erupts as an illegal arms deal sparks a catastrophic viral blackout, drawing friends Ben, Jack, and Kit into a deadly web of conspiracy. Their quest for truth leads to a shocking showdown on the White House lawn, where a desperate Secret Service tries to stop a president's drastic plan.
I loved the mind games, the political drama and the characters, especially Kit and Nahla, though Nahla was exploited for political advantages she is brave and fierce. I liked the portrayal of strong women and awareness about the Palestine and Occupied Palestine.
I would recommend this to people who like politics, thrillers, drama, suspense and such kinda books, it has a little bit of all.
This book pulled me in right from the opening chapters, the cold, the tension, and the sense that something much bigger was quietly unfolding. I found myself constantly uneasy, especially as the story moved between personal loyalties and large-scale political chaos. The way power, faith, and manipulation intersect felt unsettling in a very realistic way, not exaggerated or theatrical.
It is always hard to embark on a journey such as writing a book. And yet, Ms. Morkert took it to heart and delivered with "Insurrections" a very well written story, full of twists and turns, political perspectives, and challenging scenarios that resemble what we're living nowadays. "Insurrections", in my opinion, can be better if more background was given to the different scenes and stories it contains; each character deserves more development, and the surroundings of each dialog and of each situation would benefit from more research, to strengthen the backbone of the whole story. As it stands right now, though the plot is very interesting, and the characters evolve, the story feels rushed, particularly as we reach the end, where we learn in just a few chapters the origin of most of these issues. Still, Ms. Morkert has an undeniable talent with words, her ideas in "Insurrections" (I loved the utopic end in which mass media becomes monitored and controlled and would enjoy reading more about the consequences of living under such premise) are a well from which she could easily branch out to more stories. I believe Ms. Gilda Morkert's future as a writer is bright, as she hones her skills.
Insurrections by Gilda Morkert is a thriller that is packed with action and twists. The story follows a group of friends whose discoveries connect them to a global conspiracy involving illegal weapons and political power struggles. As the story progresses, the tension keeps building chapter after chapter. It’s very fast-paced and thought-provoking as well as very well written which makes the reader very involved in the story and unable to put the book down because we want to know that happens next. I highly recommend this book!
It was great to read this book in my native Arabic. This was an exciting book through every chapter. I really like how she freed Palestine. If only this book were out before 10/7, there would be thousands alive today. I hope to catch the next one and also hope to read it in Arabic again.
