Loss broke him. Love betrayed her. So they agree to a marriage of convenience. But when love demands to be felt, even the most guarded hearts can’t help but surrender.
Meera Diwan learned the hard way that love can’t be trusted. After heartbreak and betrayal, she’s done waiting for a fairytale.
Raghav Sareen doesn’t do feelings. Tragedy has hardened his heart, and he believes marriage should be practical.
So when their parents arrange a match, they agree with a steady resolve. A marriage of convenience. No love. No complications. Just two people sharing a life.
But the heart never listens.
Through late-night conversations, slow-burn intimacy and found family friendships, what began as a calculated arrangement becomes something dangerously real. And when the past resurfaces to test everything they’ve built, Meera and Raghav must decide.
Risk their hearts one last time or walk away from the only love that ever felt real?
If you love to read slow-burn desi romance, an arranged marriage full of longing, and a second chance at love, Since You Came Along was written for you!
Kajal Rai lives in Mumbai, India, and holds a postgraduate degree in literature. Storytelling has always been her true calling. Her debut novel, Since You Came Along, marks the beginning of her journey as an author, and she is already working on the second book in the Ever Since series.
Her love for words extends beyond novels. She has published poetry, micro-fiction tales, and short stories. She has also co-authored the novella On a Journey of Life. A hopeless romantic at heart, Kajal firmly believes in happily-ever-afters, which is why she just can’t seem to write any other way.
When she’s not crafting love stories, she is immersed in books herself, whether it’s romance, fantasy, or explorations of human psychology. She hopes to contribute to a world where love is love and where everyone can be who they are without fear or judgement.
Ok this is a bit personal book for me so excuse me if I am overly cheery and elated for this book. ( or you can sue me for being TOO excited ... 👻)
The very first thing and in fact till the end of the book if something stayed with me and completely floored me about the book was .....nope not the romance👻.... it's the fam. Especially the extended family group of all these adorable friends and siblings and the way they interacted and stood fierce and protective for each other. You can't help fall in love with this adorable gang. Be it the boys or the girls, the way they came together to make every moment so lively was so envious.
I am a slow romance addict so naturally there was no way I wouldnt love this book. What is even more exciting is to see the romance sprouting out of an otherwise arranged marriage situation where it is least expected. Plus you have to give kudos to the fact that the characters were sensible ones rather than the other usual romance couple you see, where not only their actions makes no sense but you end up giving yourself a headache from all the eyerolls you do , reading about them. That is why Raghav and Mira came across as such grown up and mature individuals. No unnecessary drama. No high pitch screams or cries. Just a natural progression of two individuals coming to terms with their situation and realities.
If you love to see a sneak peak into romance after marriage, then this is IT but honestly for me this book is all about friendship. The author might come after me with a rifle but the fact is that from the first page I kept falling in love with the gang in whole. For every incident, I just wanted to see how the gang would react and it was worth the fun.
Usually in romance, the friends and family takes a breezy role, coming and going when and till required but it was refreshing to see how the book actually moved forward through these friends and the group in general.
Doing my due diligence by speaking about romance 👻 ...it is refreshing to see an actual foundation to when and how the couple fall in love. You could see that gradual settlement of this couple into that love we all adore. But as it might have been evident from now, my heart was stolen by the friendship arc of this group. Especially towards the end... at the onset of crisis... the way the gang team up for their loved ones is not only adorable but totally awe worthy
NOPE. He has a dead-ex that he is still in love & mourning from page 1 to the last page. She has an ex OM who abused her and says she doesn't want to be anyone's 2nd best, yet that is exactly what she is and became.
Is this really entertaining for anyone? And while we are at it, why is it the MMCs always have a deep love with someone else but FMC have an ugly one with mostly being cheated on or abused? What is wrong with these authors these days? LOL
Since you came along is a heartwarming and promising desi romance novel that captivated me with its unique storyline and beautifully curated themes of love, forced proximity, hope, friendships and tender affection.
The story follows Meera who was going to meet Raghav for the first time. Arranged by their parents, they thought both of them will be perfect as life partners. Uncertainties and hesitation were running through their minds until the moment they spoke to each other.
Soon enough, something shifted and both of them found solace in each other's company. However the past weighed heavy and if not addressed it could perforate their future. Will fate pull them close or test them with games?
They have known love and heartbreak in their own terms. For now is the time they become the heartbeat of each other.
Raghav and Meera are so compatible and in tune, like they have an understanding, a sense of knowing grief and hope. I loved the way the plot was executed, their relationship dynamics were well written and the exploration of other accompanying characters truly gives you an ultimate bollywood- esque story. And when I say I devoured this book, trust me I did.
Kajal's incredible writing style and expression of emotions were amazing. She weaved intriguing characters with emotional vulnerabilities and complexities of the past, by navigating the essence of hope and maybe just maybe something more than friendship. This book will surely comfort you with warmth, cosiness and happiness with a satisfying HEA. For me, this was quite therapeutic because I found an emotional connection as well as a sense of resilience and courage.
Tbh this was an easy read but it felt like a 292 pages long therapy & healing session. You have two broken people who are clinging to the ghosts of the past. It’s exhausting and annoying.
The thing is, had this healing & therapy session lasted only for a few chapters, I would’ve given it 2-3 stars depending on how nice the romance part is done. But the dead ex & the abusive ex were mentioned from the very beginning to the end. In. Every. Single. Chapter. Vernoica this, Ritvik that … There’s emotional stagnation. Everything revolves around those two so you really can’t see the fmc and the mmc laughing, flirting or even just living without mentioning them in one way or another. It’s emotional draining.
This was all fine but the point where I kinda gave up when he confessed his love to Meera at Veronica’s grave. Are you for real ? It’s not at all an Aww moment, it’s like audacity but in HD. What he basically means by doing so is, “ Hey babe, I finally love you.. Thought I would let you know in front of the LOML. RIP, but I have sort of move on” and also “You’ll always come second, fuck whatever you say about not being anyone’s second option”
I was ready to give up at this point. But still I continued. I should’ve stopped. I had already been thinking that FMC is too sweet, almost to the point where she’s a literal doormat, I thought she cannot do anything more worse than being a doormat. What did she do ? SHE GAVE HIM A RING TO WEAR ON THEIR RE-DO WEDDING - A RING THAT HIS DEAD EX GAVE TO HIM. Bffr ! Babe this is a marriage between two humans but you are in a marriage of three …. You, your husband and the dearly departed!! Grow a backbone, you literally said you can’t be anyone’s second choice. You literally became a definition or example of being a second choice. She didn’t say ‘I do’ She’ said, “I do … and so does the dearly departed”
This was a quick read for me. I was full of emotions while reading this one. Most of the chapters left me with tears in my eyes. There were some cute moments as well. Both the characters (Raghav and Meera) have a complicated past. None of them is ready to love. I have huge respect for both of them, because they accepted each other's past as it is. Raghav is such a gentleman. He was the strength that Meera needed. Meera, on the other hand, was very practical person. Her emotions were reasonable and justified. For me, the duo make a compatible couple - RAB NE BANA DI JODI!!!!! The writing style was exceptionally good. There were lines that hit deep, and could make feel the storm inside each character. I loved the found family trope of this book. Raghav's friends were accepting of Meera. Abhay is my favourite among them - he was like a big brother Meera never had. Meera's besties bestied so hard that I want them now! I'm excited to read the second book in the series, about Abhay and Siya. Will I recommend this book? A hundred percent yesss!!!!
"Since You Came Along" is like that one friend who won't let you wallow in your emotions – they'll drag you out, make you face your demons, and then force you to dance in the rain!
Meera and Raghav are two beautifully broken souls who've sworn off love. But, as fate would have it, they're thrown together in a marriage of convenience. What follows is a heartwarming, hilarious, and sometimes heartbreaking journey of self-discovery and love.🎀
The author's writing style is like a warm hug on a cold day – comforting, reassuring, and utterly delightful! The storytelling is engaging, the characters are relatable, and the dialogue is witty and real.
So, if you're in the mood for a romance that'll make you laugh, cry, and root for the characters, "Since You Came Along" is the perfect book for you!
"Sometimes love doesn’t come like lightning—it comes like a quiet sunrise. Healing. Honest. And exactly what your soul needs." That one line captures the essence of Since You Came Along—a tender, emotionally grounded love story that doesn't shout to be heard, but stays with you long after you've turned the last page. Kajal Rai’s novel completely wrapped itself around my heart, in the gentlest and most unexpected way. This isn’t your typical romance, filled with grand declarations or dramatic twists. Instead, it’s a quiet exploration of what it means to start over—not with fireworks, but with understanding; not with passion that burns fast and bright, but with connection that slowly, patiently builds into something lasting. We meet Raghav, a man who has built a life of success and structure around himself, but who quietly carries the weight of grief in every corner of that life. And then there’s Meera, a soft-spoken college professor, reeling from betrayal but still standing—with dignity, grace, and a quiet strength that never asks for attention but demands your respect. Two people from different worlds, brought together not by romance, but by an arranged marriage. Neither of them is expecting love—but both are hoping, in their own quiet way, for peace. And somehow, amidst all the awkward silences, the hesitations, the small gestures, and the unspoken pain—they find exactly that. 💫 What stood out the most? Honestly, everything. The realism. The pacing. The emotional honesty. This is a story that breathes—it takes its time, allowing every glance, every pause, every vulnerable conversation to carry weight. It doesn’t rush healing, and it doesn’t simplify love. And that’s what makes it so powerful. Raghav is the kind of male lead we don’t see often enough. He’s respectful. Steady. Observant. The kind of man who listens, who doesn’t try to "fix" Meera, but instead holds space for her to heal on her own terms. Watching him fall for her—so quietly, so deeply, often before he even realizes it himself—was genuinely heart-melting. He is a walking green flag. And Meera—oh, Meera. She’s not flashy or fiery in the ways that romantic heroines are often written. But she’s one of the most relatable, quietly powerful women I’ve read in a long time. Her journey isn’t about changing who she is—it’s about reclaiming herself after loss, and learning that vulnerability isn’t weakness. Her growth is subtle but profound. I rooted for her every step of the way. 💛 The found family elements? Absolute perfection. Every side character felt fully realized, and more importantly, full of heart. Whether it was through quiet support, shared meals, or simply showing up when it mattered most, they created a world where love didn’t just exist between the leads—it was everywhere, in every bond. Siya and Abhay, in particular, left such a lasting impression—I’m already manifesting a spin-off with their story! There are no over-the-top plot twists here, no artificial drama or explosive confrontations. The conflict is internal. It’s emotional. It’s in the things we don’t say, in the walls we build to protect ourselves, and the courage it takes to let someone in. The romance here isn’t loud—but it is deep. Steady. Unshakeable. It’s a reminder that real love often shows up in quiet ways—in shared silences, in making tea without asking, in being there even when words fall short. This book is not just about falling in love with another person. It’s about finding comfort in companionship, rediscovering trust, and realizing that love doesn’t need to sweep you off your feet to change your life. Sometimes, it just needs to sit beside you, hold your hand, and say, “You’re not alone anymore.”
A breathtaking, touching and emotional story of Raghav Sareen and Meera Diwan. Will lead you, where you’re feeling and emotions being tested and you will fall for each moment between them, remembering even though you end it. An arranged marriage which takes you to the blissful journey of laughter, haunted past memories, shared between as promised, a true love which stays stronger, possessiveness on fire, understanding to the depth it is rooted, friendship which we dream of. Silly banters the whole scene lead to a happy ache in your heart. A very light sprinkle of intimacy which will make a shit out of you!!!!!!!!!!
I loved the way she made every scene to stay in our memory, a very slow burn where you will realize and cherish each moment. If you are the type to cry while reading, get your tissue box ready, the story feels deep and feels like my soul has realized something which I have not learnt in a long time. I felt a deep ache while reading the novel I lived in.
This novel is full of liveliness and sparks, and the emotional scenes hit to the core, loved all the characters in the novel, they all provide a special place in my heart. I am not leaving anyone. They made me live through the book. Their efforts, cute banter, emotional dependency, support will make you see through, I cherished those moments as nowadays such friendships are rare. It has disappeared and only found in books.
Loved the chemistry between Raghav and Meera as they started to unfold their burden slowly understanding each other, and the cemetery scenes dammm…. It is so sharp, deep and emotional .Loved the way they converse with each other, each moment caring and it felt so emotional when he was able to understand her when she is upset and move without hurting and solving her issues. Once there distance felt as a bad scream, until the rollercoaster of emotions Raghav felt a hit through me and the way she written made me to feel the full tension of him, the silence between them felt me to cry go go talk to her, you guys please solve the issue. And the ending felt like I needed some more stories for them.
Conversation is the key to a successful relationship. You can share your burden with your partner, if they are at the level of understanding, the relationship needs understanding, in some parts you can’t cure yourself, and you need someone, that’s why the partner we chose is important in life. If they can’t understand you or you can’t understand and workout the indifferences within you it's all a disaster waiting to happen.

You know that feeling when someone hugs you and you feel warmth all over with a sense of being loved and cherished? This book ignites those exact feelings while reading. The story follows Meera Diwan and Raghav Sareen as they are tying the knot which their parents had orchestrated. Their Arranged marriage is based on warm friendship and understanding to each other's past and pain. While both had had experienced love before this marriage, only to be broken by it, this relationship was just a step into a second chance at life. Maybe it was all meant to be to find each other.
This story is so beautiful that I am lacking in words. Raghav and meera's relation is so pure and perfect that i can say that they are the greenest couple in the history of couples to ever exist! Their quiet understanding, soft support towards each other's pain really won my heart. Meera is such a kind soul that I found myself really connected to her, just like how her friends loved her. Raghav is a green forest, his subtle charm and moments of care for meera really made me envy of meera! ( I need a raghav too in my life now)
What makes the story more stand out was the found family they have- Their friends Abhay, Siya, Swayam, luv and kusha. I loved each and every one of them especially Swayam. His kind nature was really lovely. Their bonds and love for each other really warmed my heart - the way all of them cared for each other - truly a beautiful family indeed. The end is satisfactory and perfect with little details. I can't wait to read the next book in the series and find out more about Abhay and siya!
Since you came along is a romance that has every kind of love, be it romantic or platonic. It's a quiet murmur of hope towards all hearts that has been hurt in love, that healing does come along with a promise of a new start. If you love a Romance that is quiet, supportive and heal you throughout its journey- then this book is a must read for you!
I just finished reading "Since You Came Along" and This book has earned a well-deserved 5-star rating from me. It's a beautifully written desi romance that has all the ingredients of a great love story. The author has expertly woven together a narrative that's both heartwarming and heartbreaking.
One of the things that I loved most about this book is its well-developed characters. Meera, the FMC, is a strong and independent woman who isn't afraid to speak her mind. She's also incredibly kind and compassionate, always putting the needs of others before her own. I found her to be a very relatable character, and I loved watching her grow and evolve throughout the story.
Raghav, the male lead, is equally well-written. He's charming and supportive, always there to lend a listening ear or a helping hand. I loved the way he interacted with Meera, always treating her with kindness and respect. He's the kind of partner that everyone deserves, and I found myself rooting for him from the very beginning.
The romance between Meera and Raghav is sweet and tender, with a slow-burn that had me eagerly turning the pages. I loved the way they challenged each other to be their best selves, and the way they supported each other through thick and thin. Their relationship is built on a foundation of trust and respect, and it's a beautiful thing to watch. It's the kind of Old school love that I always dream about.
The supporting characters in the book are also well-written and add depth to the story. I loved Meera's and Raghav's friends and family, and the way they rallied around her when she needed them. The author has done a great job of creating a sense of belonging, and it's something that adds a lot of warmth to the story.
At last I would like to talk to Rutvik please. I think we need to have a separate *friendly conversation🔪* probably by the edge of a ditch or something

Since You Came Along by Kajal Rai is a heartwarming and emotionally rich desi romance that captivated me from the first page. With its beautifully woven themes of love, hope, emotional healing, and forced proximity, it offers a truly comforting and cinematic reading experience.
The story follows Meera and Raghav two individuals with complex pasts meeting for the first time in an arranged setup. Initially hesitant and uncertain, their connection quickly deepens into something meaningful, yet layered with emotional baggage and unspoken fears. Their journey is not just about falling in love but also about healing and accepting the past to make room for something beautiful.
Raghav, the gentle strength Meera needed, and Meera, the practical yet deeply emotional anchor Raghav didn't know he was missing, form a bond that feels both genuine and tender. Their chemistry, emotional vulnerability, and growth are portrayed with great depth. Kajal Rai masterfully captures their dynamics and also gives the supporting characters, like Abhay, Siya, and Meera’s best friends, enough depth to make the story feel like a warm found-family romance. Abhay, especially, felt like the big brother Meera never had, and Meera’s friendships were endearing and real.
What stood out the most to me was the writing exceptionally expressive, poetic at times, and deeply resonant. There were moments that left me in tears, and others that made me smile like an idiot. This book is not just romance it’s therapy wrapped in pages. It speaks of resilience, courage, and the quiet strength it takes to choose love despite past wounds.
If you're a fan of Bollywood style emotional arcs, slow burn intimacy, and heartwarming stories about love that heals, “Since You Came Along” will steal your heart. And yes, the teaser for book two featuring Abhay and Siya has me so excited!
Meera Diwan - a girl who will make you fall in love, a girl who will bear every criticism you throw her way, who will love you unconditionally, who will make you happy but what she got in return was betrayal. She was betrayed by the man she loved the most.
Raghav Sareen - He lost his love in a disastrous accident that left him with a deep wounded heart. He is not looking for love anymore. For him, marriage is an arrangement where he will give his hundred percent, but he can't fall in love again.
They met in an arranged marriage setup, and somewhere, due to their past experience, they understood their situation, and they clicked perfectly. The journey was slow at the start, but they both decided to give ample amount of time to their relationship to nurture it. And slowly, their attraction converted into a love that was too new for both of them. But destiny, as usual, poked them at the wrong time, and somewhere, unknowingly, they felt that pang of fear they had faced in the past.
But the question is will they be able to embrace the love or keep craving for it secretly??
This story talks about two broken people who came together to start a new beginning, and throughout the journey, you will appreciate their togetherness. It's a simple, cute read, but the emotional quotient will capture your attention. I loved Raghav and his way of love and care. Though Nica was just a memory, l loved that character. Abhay, Luv, Siya, and Kusha all these people played a very vital role in making this story a great read. The friendship bond scripted in the story is absolutely beautiful.
I am looking forward to reading Abhay and Siya's story. It has already captured my attention and made me imagine all the hilarious scenarios 😁😁. This couple will be the Tom Jerry couple for sure 😊.
This book tells the story of Raghav, a businessman, and Meera, a college professor. Brought together by their parents for an arranged marriage, both carry emotional scars from their past. Despite their hesitation towards love, they choose marriage as a path towards healing and moving forward, both for themselves and their families. The central question becomes: can they find love, heal each other, and ultimately achieve a happy ending?
I just loved this book. It's a love story where it will make you believe that not all marriages are scary. I particularly admired Raghav's character. His care for Meera, and his commitment to loyalty, even in the absence of romantic love, were truly touching. The way he was possessive for her even when they have not yet realised their feelings for each other.
The growth of both Raghav and Meera is a highlight. Several scenes showcase Raghav's tender care for Meera and her growing understanding of him.
The best thing about this book is the friendship among all of them. Each character has its own space. The bond among them is so strong and can do anything for them. The way all of them understand each other and help each other is very hardly found nowadays.
There were some scenes where (I would try to not give spoilers) he takes care of her, she understands him. There is one scene where he misunderstood her (I won't give in detail) and after that when they finally had a conversation with each other was one of my favourite scenes from the book. Also the confession and end part of the book was so cute like he had done everything she had asked for. They had healed each other the way they never thought they would be healed.
Overall if you are looking for a book where it has all things marriages, friendship, love, loyalty and some cute scenes then this is the book for you.
"Since You Came Along", the debut novel by Author Kajal Rai is a beautifully written desi romance that blends emotional depth with warmth and charm.
It is the story of Meera and Raghav who are brought together through an arranged meeting by their families culminating into marriage. The story unfolds with tenderness, unconditional love and a genuine connection.
The plot is unusual as it is different from other stories. The usual stories begins with friendship and then leads to marriage unlike "Since you came Along", begins with marriage, leads to friendship and then progresses to protagonists' lasting love.
Author Kajal Rai's writing style is terrific. The way the plot was carried out, the protagonists' interpersonal dynamics are handled well by the Author.
The tropes of arranged marriage, desi romance, slow burn romance, forced proximity and second chance is skilfully woven into an incredible storyline.
Beautiful lines from the book:
Raghav to Meera,"I've found joy I never thought possible since you came along. I've known peace that feels like home since you came along".
ALSO
"And I've fallen completely and irrevocably in love with you since you came along".
The expression of emotions by the intriguing protagonists navigate an essence of love which will surely comfort you with warmth, happiness and a sense of resilience. The second chance Raghav and Meera give to each other by moving on in their relationship depicts strength and healing which is truly commendable.
Overall, an impactful read and an amazing contemporary romance. The characters of the friends of Meera and Raghav, Abhay, Luv, Siya, Kusha, Swayam are well-portayed in the story as having an unbreakable bond between them. An excellent and must read!
Raghav... where can I find man like him? He is such a sweetheart. He starts with practicality of marriage as he was burnt in the past. But soon he found himself fall harder and harder.
Meera, a beautiful soul tainted by the man who was supposed to be an end game and as a result she built guard around her heart. She was not ready to wear heart on sleeve only to get it broken.
But now they both are bound in Arranged marriage. These beauties are scared to risk it all over again as they can't bear the pain but what if they were meant to be? Fate was playing game all along to get them together like missing pieces of puzzle?
The book no doubt will give you tickles and giggly moments but when it comes to heartfelt moments , you will feel yourself wondering what if Raghav exists in reality? How beautiful it would be.
Raghav is a such a gem and when he got Meera, he was shining bright.
But if I say, the intense tension between Abhay and Siya... i can't wait to get a look into their story.
This book will give you hope that no matter what you'll meet someone who is just just for you and no one can take him away.
And it shows that is he wanted to, he would
Meera was not less, she was caring and she found comfort with him, the talks, the moments and the serenity... it was all blissful.
This book is much recommended if you wanted to read something light hearted yet emotional ❣️
Since You Came Along is a heartfelt tale of love, healing, and the magic of second chances. Kajal Rai brings to life a slow-burn arranged marriage romance that’s steeped in emotional depth, quiet intensity, and desi charm.
Meera and Raghav are two souls weighed down by their pasts, yet they step into an arranged marriage with grace and quiet hope. Watching them slowly open up to each other—through stolen glances, quiet conversations, and shared pain—is an emotional experience. Their journey from strangers to lovers is as soft and tender as it is powerful.
What makes this story shine even more is the beautiful cast of side characters. Abhay and Siya were adorable, and their chemistry has me eagerly waiting for their own story. And Swayam? What a gem. His friendship with Meera was such a warm and comforting thread throughout the book—his bond with Siya and Meera was the kind of friendship many only dream of.
Raghav and Meera didn’t just fall in love—they chose to heal together, even though the wounds they carried weren’t caused by each other. Their maturity, compassion, and emotional growth made their love story all the more beautiful.
Yes, there are minor writing gaps, but the emotional resonance more than makes up for it. Kajal Rai’s storytelling is gentle yet impactful, and the rawness of her characters lingers long after you turn the last page.
If you’re a fan of: arranged marriage tropes desi romances with depth second chances at love slow-burn chemistry and characters who feel real and lovable, then this book is for you.

It's a quiet murmur of hope towards all hearts that has been hurt in love, that healing does come along with a promise of a new start. If you love a Romance that is quiet, supportive and heal you throughout its journey- then this book is a must read for you!
Before I even started, I cried my eyes out with this book. I absolutely loved it and wish I could forget it just to experience it all over again. A beautifully written slow burn, emotional and simply perfect. I had never read an Indian author or known much about Indian culture, so I started with low expectations. The main characters, Meera and Raghav, meet through an arranged marriage. From their very first encounter, sparks flew, it was beautiful. Both had painful pasts, so the arrangement didn’t seem like a bad idea. Kudos to the author for showing why they no longer believed in love; she made their heartbreak feel real and raw. They are so good for each other, understanding one another’s pain and helping each other heal. I cried so much over Raghav’s story. Losing someone you deeply love and dream of being with forever is tragic, and the way he lost his girlfriend was devastating. He feels he’ll never be the same man, and the way his emotions are expressed is just exquisite. Meera’s story made me both sad and angry. How can someone who claims to love you be selfish, manipulative, and irresponsible? She sacrificed herself to make him happy, only to be betrayed time and again, leaving her questioning if love even exists. The slow burn is incredible, they fall in love a little more every day without even realizing it. The scenes with her ex-partner and the car accident made them realize they can’t live without each other and that they can love again. Experiencing this journey with them was pure joy. One scene I didn’t enjoy as much was the graveyard scene. It made sense, but I wish it had been written with more detail. Still, this book is without a doubt a 5-star read.
I read this book yesterday and trust me, I’m glad I picked it up. This book has been all over my feed for so long, but I never actually got around to reading it The story begins with an arranged marriage between Raghav and Meera. Tbh I didn’t have high hopes because I’m not in the mood for arranged marriage tropes lately. But this book Damnn! It changed my mind. The storyline is so well-connected 🤌🏻and paced perfectly nothing is rushed !! everything unfolded just right.
Meera - She is soft-hearted, kind girl, and Raghav has a complicated past. Both are clear about not looking for love. (But it will happen eventually hehe! ) The way they open up, communicate, and grow into their relationship felt so genuine and real! I loved them🫶🏻
What truly touched me was the found-family vibe (dreamy) their friends becoming like family, walking into their homes and kitchens like it’s their own. It gave me that dreamy, comforting feeling…(i dnt to how to express this but- Every girl has probably wished for something like that at some point. Or its just me)
The book has emotional twists, lovable side characters and such a great storyline!! After a long time, I read an Indian romance that gave me all the feels 🫡🛐It had a perfect balance of realism and fiction, with a very wholesome ending.❤️🔥
Also their arranged marriage conversations? Its So real, so important and something people actually should talk about before saying yes! The way Raghav and Meera support each other 👏 Perfect!
Now I’m eagerly waiting for Book 2 — based on Abhay and Siya!!! Kajal Raj has definitely made it to my auto-read list. Highly recommended! And a solid 5 star read !
"Since You Came Along" is a heartwarming and emotional tale of love, healing, and second chances. 💖 Raghav Sareen is a successful yet broken man who has lost something precious in life. Meera Diwan, a beautiful and kind-hearted professor, has faced brutal betrayal. Their arranged marriage, meant to be a mere formality, slowly transforms into a journey of understanding, trust, and love. ✨
Raghav starts off distant, his heart shattered by fate. Meera, despite her own emotional wounds, proves to be the perfect partner. She is patient, supportive, and deeply empathetic. ❤️ As they navigate their new life together, their bond strengthens, offering both of them a renewed sense of hope and happiness. The story beautifully captures their slow-burn romance, showing how two broken souls find solace in each other. 💑
The side characters, especially their friends, bring warmth and fun to the story. Their banter adds charm, making the book even more enjoyable. The hint at Abhay and Siya’s story leaves readers excited for what comes next. 🥰
This beautifully written love story is filled with deep emotions and a heart-touching narrative. While it follows some familiar romance tropes, the characters' emotional growth and genuine connection make it stand out. If you love stories about second chances, slow-burn romance, and finding love after heartbreak, Since You Came Along is definitely worth reading. 📚💞
If you're someone who believes love doesn't always start with sparks but can quietly grow with time, "Since You Came Along" by Kajal Rai is a book you’ll want to wrap yourself in.
This isn’t your typical romance book. Meera and Raghav meet through an arranged marriage set-up, two people just trying to do what’s expected of them. But as the story unfolds, so does their relationship. Slowly, gently, and with all the little awkward, beautiful moments that make love feel real. The way they open up to each other, share laughter, and silently heal, it's tender in the best way.
The Author paints a vivid picture of Indian culture, not just in rituals and traditions, but in the pressure, expectations, and quiet strength that come with it. You’ll feel the warmth of family dinners, the tension of unspoken emotions, and the sweetness of shared silences.
What stands out most is how emotionally grounded the book is. It doesn’t rely on big twists or dramatic reveals. Instead, it focuses on connection, vulnerability, and trust. It’s simple, but in that simplicity lies so much beauty.
Each Character played an exceptional and distinguished role, making us connect with them in deeper level.
With that said, if you’re looking for high-speed drama or intense angst, this might not be your vibe. But if you’re in the mood for something soft, meaningful, and comforting, like a slow-burning candle on a quiet night; this book is a lovely choice.
Since you came along is deeply, achingly human. Meera and Raghav don’t fall in love at first sight. They arrive at marriage already bruised by past betrayals, carrying their emotional baggage like quiet shadows. Their journey isn’t about sparks or declarations—it’s about two people choosing to stay, choosing to heal, and slowly learning how to trust again. Instead of the familiar “meet, fall in love, marry” arc, Kajal Rai offers something gentler, more layered: here, marriage comes first, friendship builds slowly, and love unfolds patiently—one small act of kindness, one hesitant smile at a time. The chemistry simmers low and steady, the tension is quiet but ever-present, and the emotional beats linger long after the page is turned. The world around them is just as rich. Abhay and Siya’s banter, Swayam’s steady warmth, and the easy camaraderie of the extended circle add depth without distraction. These aren’t just side characters—they feel like people you’ve known, rooting for the couple right alongside you. Yes, the story includes beloved tropes—arranged marriage, forced proximity, second chances—but Kajal Rai brings her own voice to them. Her prose is gentle, her emotional timing impeccable, and the storytelling holds heat without ever rushing the burn. This is a romance where healing feels just as powerful as loving. And sometimes, that’s the love story we need most.
Who hasn't made some choices they'd rather forget? But what if someone amazing came along and turned your life around? For Meera Diwan, a talented, sweet and caring person, that someone is Raghav Sareen - a strong, chivalrous, and self-made businessman who enters into her life and helps her to prioritize her own self-worth and happiness.
Have you ever lost someone special and thought love was no longer in the cards? But fate has a way of surprising us, doesn't it? For Raghav, that surprise comes in the form of Meera, who bursts into his life and makes him realize he deserves a second chance at love. But how does she do it? You'll have to dive into the book to find out!
What did I love about this book? First, the simple romance between Meera and Raghav - with the pinch of sweetness. Then, there's the awesome friendship squad they form - it's like one big, happy family (no drama allowed... or at least, not too much)! And lastly, Raghav's non-judgmental nature and Meera's caring heart - It's like a traditional couple you'd typically find in any novel.
With amazing supporting characters that'll make you laugh, cry, and cheer them on, this debut book by Kajal Rai is a usual one-time read.Dive in and discover a love story that will leave you content
A beautifully woven tale of heartbreak, healing, and unexpected love.
In her debut novel, Kajal Rai delivers a deeply moving story that lingers long after the final page. Meera Diwan and Raghav Sareen are two emotionally guarded souls, both scarred by love’s past betrayals, yet drawn into a marriage that begins as a pact of practicality but slowly blossoms into something much more profound.
The brilliance of this book lies in its emotional restraint. Instead of sweeping declarations, the author builds a relationship on slow-burn moments shared silences, unspoken empathy, and the vulnerability that only true companionship can offer. Meera’s strength and Raghav’s quiet depth are etched with tenderness and realism, making their journey utterly relatable and refreshingly honest.
The writing is crisp, mature, and layered with subtle insight into human emotions. Themes of trust, second chances, and inner strength are explored with sensitivity and grace, making this debut not just a love story, but a story about choosing love despite fear.
A must-read for every romance lover who craves depth, heart, and emotional authenticity. This is not just a promising debut it’s a powerful reminder that even the most broken hearts can find their way back to love.
This book is one of those tender, slow-burn love stories that quietly wraps around your heart. It follows Meera and Raghav, two people brought together through an arranged marriage, awkward strangers at first, but slowly, they begin to discover comfort in each other’s presence. What makes this book special is how real and unhurried the relationship feels. There’s no rush, no instant fireworks, just stolen glances, quiet laughter, and a connection that builds slowly, like a soft rhythm settling into your soul. Both characters come with emotional baggage, and Kajal Rai handles their growth with a lot of grace and empathy. You don’t just read their story, you feel it. The story is soaked in Indian culture, festivals, family pressure, the warmth of traditions, all of which add a beautiful texture to the romance. I found it relatable, in the sense that being from a desi family where love often comes second to duty. Those who love the magic of slow-burns and emotional depth, it’s a gem. Think of it as a warm cup of chai on a rainy day, comforting, familiar, and full of heart. It was soulful, gentle, and refreshingly real. It’s the kind of book that doesn’t shout, it lingers. And once you finish it, you might just find yourself thinking about Meera and Raghav long after the last page.
This book is quiet a kind of book which I was looking for and not a dramatic romance. Meera and Raghav aren’t portrayed over dramatic also are gentle, hesitant and a little injured by life which made their connection feel raw and honest.
The story begins with the Meera and Raghav Sareen meeting for the first time, a setup by their families. The writing and story in this book didn't rush or pretend. It holds the awkward pauses, silences and the weight of past hurts. What unfolds is slow. Soft. Intimate. Like two people learning how to trust all over again.
I absolutely adored Meera she’s resilient, carrying so much without saying much. And Raghav? At first, he seems cold, like he’s hiding behind a wall. But slowly, he starts to open up and feel things and it’s quietly touching. Kajal Rai captures that vulnerability so well.
And the way they fall for each other? Not in loud declarations or dramatic twists. But in the little things the shared silences, the accidental touches, the way they simply sit near each other and almost reach out. I swear, there were moments that just made my chest ache.
The book is about healing, feeling safe with someone and getting another chance in a real and honest way. The side characters are nice and made the story complete and warm. (4.5 Stars)
Since You Came Along is a heartwarming slow-burn arranged marriage romance that completely stole my heart. Everything about this book felt just right — from the story to the beautifully written characters.
Meera Diwan has been hurt in the past. She’s strong, graceful, and someone anyone would admire. Raghav Sareen is grieving a deep personal loss and feels lost in life. When their families arrange a meeting between them, they decide to give it a chance — two broken souls trying to start over. But will it work?
What I loved most was how deeply the author explored their journey. Meera and Raghav are so supportive of each other, and reading about their growing bond felt peaceful and comforting. Their relationship is built on respect, understanding, and gentle healing — which made it even more beautiful.
The friendships in this book are another highlight! I adored how the characters were always there for one another, adding warmth and depth to the story.
This book has all my favorite tropes: 💛 Desi romance 💛 Slow burn 💛 Second chance at love 💛 Arranged marriage
If you're looking for a comforting love story that’s emotional, relatable, and full of heart, Since You Came Along is the perfect pick!
