Ella does it again in this second book in the mateless shifters series. Gets hotter with each page. I can’t wait for the next book to see what happens next and what Lumi’s decision is going to be.

After reading the first ones and having some major gripes, I decided to still give this one a chance. Mistake!
I don’t know why it took so long to come out, because there is no plot to speak of. In fact, I can sum up the “plot” in one sentence:
“Oh no who’s my mate! Him or him? And the curse! Right!”
I’m not kidding, that’s all that happens. A repeat of the first book but with a different MMC. The characters are also laughably inconsistent and one-sided. Nyx is a completely different character than in the first book. In the first, he was the only interesting one - morally black and brooding.
This book, he gets the Rhysand treatment of “what if the big meany is actually just a cute little guy?” but done with 5% of the effort and intrigue. There is no character work or exploration.
Lumi’s inner dialogue was unreadable and whiny. God. I’m sorry to this author because I really did want this one to be better, but it made me feel like I wasted my money even though it was free of Kindle.

Bitten by Bloodmoon is book two in the “Mateless Shifters” series by Ella Miles. It is a spicy paranormal romance where Werewolves, Vampires, and Witches each have curses placed on them, inching them towards extinction. The snow wolf, Lumi, is taken away by the Bloodmoon Alpha (and Nightfall Lord) Nyx during her mating ceremony with Ambrose in book one and is determined to defy fate, looking for a way to break the curses for all three beings rather than only one. Attempting to choose her own fate, Lumi and Nyx uncover secrets, prophecies, and fallacies in her wake. Lovers of ACOTAR will enjoy the love triangle, a brave FMC, world-building, and romance elements!
I was hooked on this series from book one! I read it much earlier in the year, and it often came to mind- I was eagerly waiting for this book release! The pace of this book was faster than book one (which makes sense because book one is primarily world-building), and would be great for a quick read that absorbs you from page one.
Tropes: Cursebreaking, One Bed, Fated Mates???, Love Triangle, Headstrong FMC, Devoted MMCs, “He’s a villain, but…”, and Rhys v Tamlin coded (in my opinion).
I would rate the heat of this book at 🌶️🌶️🌶️. Miles focuses on plot and progression rather than spice, and it works for this story. This is not a “why choose” romance, but it is a love triangle.
We learn a lot about our characters in this book, the good, the bad, and the ugly. To be honest, I had a hard time accepting Lumi’s stubbornness for a hot minute, and it took a wee bit from my experience. A lot of “girl, what are you thinking???” talk. I rolled my eyes, I huffed, and that’s how I knew I was already sinking my teeth in and getting involved. Her rise and acceptance of bravery as a strength, however, was a triumph. We learn a lot more about Nyx, the werewolf she meets initially in book one. He gave me major Rhys vibes in both books, and I loved him for that. He’s a dark and broody man with emotions like a decadent dessert under his dark facade (which you learn a lot more about towards the end of the book). I really liked him, and I look forward to seeing more of him. Ambrose, however, will be a secret for you to find out on your own.
“Bitten by Bloodmoon” picks up the pace in the “Mateless Shifter” series as war is on the horizon and lives are on the line. I really enjoyed this read, and I look forward to continuing the series! If you enjoy curse-breaking, paranormal romance, heartbreak, romance, headstrong FMCs, and devoted MMCs, this book is for you!.

Betrayal… who is Lumi to choose as her mate? Is there really a choice when both ‘candidates’ have betrayed her? But did they? Really? There’s definitely more to this than meets the eye. One thing is for sure…. be careful who you trust, especially when a life or death curse is involved.
Lumi knows her time is short. The curse must be broken by the moon’s clock and time is running out. Or maybe instead of a curse, it’s best to say curses…. as this curse impacts not only werewolves but also vampires and witches.
And herein lies the problem… the chosen mate must be Lumi’s true mate. Just how will she know who that is, especially since the curse makes them mateless?
At the first of the book you see two hybrid wolves eyeing Lumi…. Ambrose, a wolf/witch and Nyx, a wolf/vampire. Soooo, how will she know who to choose, and maybe the better question is will she have a choice? The other thing to ponder is will both be her mate since the curse affects not only wolves but also witches and vampires?
🤔OBSERVATIONS:
…This would have been a good book if the emphasis had kept to the plot rather than $ex. It seems to fit into the erotica category with all the ‘open door’ bedroom talk and scenes. Also, there’s an abundance of ‘F’ words.
…I loved Lumi’s growth. Loved how she started thinking for herself and got some much needed guts.
…This is not a stand-alone book. You need to read book one to understand this one. Also, be prepared for a cliffhanger leading to book three in this series.
…There’s a lot of back-n-forth chit chat, especially in the first section of the book. The action begins much later.

In the second book, Nyx has taken Lumi to save her. He knows if Ambrose bites her, she will die. He keeps her with him to find out more answers about the prophecy with her help. The vampires, witches and wolves are all on tenterhooks waiting to see which ones will be saved by the marking of Lumi’s one true mate.
Only, they are being attacked at every turn – Ambrose, Lumi and Nyx. Something is off though about the whole setup. Feelings for two men, even though one is prophesized to help break the curse, another holds the ability to end it all. There has to be more to the prophecy than what is being told so far. The seers cannot tell everything if not gifted with the entire scope of it.
The three of them face death constantly but are saved by a remarkable young man in the Bloodmoon pack. Just when Lumi thinks she has everything figured out, one of the factions come in to the supposed biting ceremony and starts meddling where they should not. Little do they know they are making powerful enemies in the long run.
I truly believe it will take the three of them to break the curses of all species. If everyone would leave them alone, I think they would figure out how to do it and everyone will be happier in the long run. The author, I know, will not disappoint us when writing the conclusion of the series. She ALWAYS pulls out surprises that we do not expect. For now, enjoy the second book in the series and see if you can figure out how the curse will be broken, I know I will~

For the last 21 years, the Wintermoon Pack has been blamed for the curse that descended on all the wolves. Lumi’s Aunt Elara was a female alpha who rejected her true mate. He was the alpha from the Monnlight pack, the strongest of all the packs. The magic of the mating bond was lost. No one can feel the pull of their true mate. Love, connection and trust was replaced by hate and rage. No wolf pups are being born because only mated couples are able to bear children.
Lumi knows that as one of the last members of the Wintermoon pack, she is one of the keys to breaking the curse. She is torn between Ambrose, the Moonlight pack Alpha and Nyx, the Bloodmoon pack Alpha. She thinks Ambrose is her true mate, but Nyx thinks that he may be Lumi’s true mate. Both men have lied to her. Ambrose is part witch and he forced Lumi to shift so supposedly her inner wolf is now controlled by Ambrose. This was such a dark and devious story!! I don't know how Ella Miles comes up with these intricate tales but I'm so happy she does! I am loving Lumi, Nyx, and Ambrose’s story. It's such a complex love triangle plus the fate of all the supernaturals is just hanging on the edge.
Nyx is really intriguing me because he is so much more broken than he let's on. He's carrying such a burden while also having to deal with such a dark past. I'm drawn to his dark broodyness and I know there is so much more to him than he let's on. I'm still on the fence with Ambrose. I don't feel that he's sincere with his feelings for Lumi. I'm excited to see how his character develops in the next book because right now I'm definitely team Nyx!
I really loved Lumi's tenacity and unwillingness to back down. She is fierce and will be a strong leader. She did get a tiny bit repetitive with her inner monologs but you could definitely feel her frustration for the situation.

I am finally coming up for air after diving into this one! If you’re looking for a romance that is high-stakes, moody, and genuinely sizzling, Ella Miles definitely delivered on the chemistry front. 🥵

The romance in this book? Top-tier. The tension between the leads was palpable from the start, and the way their connection developed kept me turning the pages way past my bedtime. It’s dark, it’s atmospheric, and it has that "can't look away" magnetic energy that Ella Miles is so good at crafting.
The Vibes 🌙
The world-building and the bloodmoon lore were super intriguing. I loved the "fated yet forbidden" feel of the story. It felt gritty and immersive in all the right ways.
The "But..." ⚠️
While I loved the heart of the story, I’ll be honest—the pacing felt a bit like a slow crawl in the middle. There were sections that felt quite repetitive, with characters circling the same internal monologues or conflicts we’d already covered. I think it could have been a bit tighter to keep the momentum going! If it weren't for the "drawn-out" feeling of some chapters, this would have been an easy 5 stars for me.
Final Verdict
If you’re a fan of dark paranormal romance and can handle a slower burn with some repetitive beats, the payoff of the romance is totally worth it. I’m still thinking about those spicy scenes! 🌶️

I've been waiting for book 2 for so long.
This one takes off where the first one ended.
Nyx has taken Lumi im order to save her from the marking ceremony and to figure out how to remove this curse by the next full moon.
What ensues is a complicated love triangle between Lumi, Nyx and Ambrose. The wondering who is her resl mate as opposed to who she chooses.
There is plenty of secrets, betrayals, fighting, and revelations with regards to breaking the curse.
Whilst not as fast paced as the first book i did enjoy the character development more in this one.
of course this ended on a cliffhanger in true Ella Miles fashion.
I was left wanting more and wondering exactly where we were going to from here.
A must read.

Bitten By Bloodmoon was a fantastic read that ends with a cliffhanger that left me wanting more. This story picks up where the first book left off with Nyx having kidnapped Lumi and brining her to his lands. He needs something from her and has to convince her to help him, but eventually lines are crossed, secrets are revealed, and power plays are made. I don't want to give much away but I will say that this story is filled with enemies, allies, deals, secrets, lies, betrayal, love, power plays, steamy scenes, war and so much more. It ends with a cliffhanger, and I can't wait to find out what happens next. I think paranormal romance lovers will enjoy this series. I know I'm definitely looking forward to the next book in this series because this one did not disappoint.

Bitten By Bloodmoon (Book 2) by Ella Miles is a dark and twisty path that leads to more questions than answers. Lumi is the center of it all with impossible choices and decisions to make.
This series is blends murky and dark with hazy yet light. This author knows how to torture her characters! With witches, shifters and vampires in the mix, you never can guess what next, who’s up to what, or when for that matter.
Overall, book 1 was an amazing start and book two is keeping the momentum going! Lumi, Ambrose, and Nyx are thrown for a horror-worthy, cliffhanger ending you do not want to miss!

Bitten by Bloodmoon by Ella Miles I’m devastated by this cliffhanger! I can’t wait till the next part comes out. You have to read book one for sure. This will continue in book two. While lumI has the hard decision to make, the time comes to make a decision between Ambrose and Nyx but Ella Miles knows how to throw a wrench into it that blows up the whole situation into pieces. While I love both Nyx and Ambrose, I really want to punch Ambrose right now! But as they say no spoilers!!! This is freaking good! This author is so talented in her story telling. Every book she writes is fascinating. She pulls you in and you just become invested in the stories.

Wow just wow, I definitely preferred this book to number one, so much going on and more action in this book. Book one felt like it was written differently no offence but like a wattpad story, kind of, rushed and not worded properly. But book two was written beautifully, the story and characters are amazing, Lumi is such an amazing strong fmc, Ambrose, hmmm I don’t really dig him, but omg nyx on the other hand, oh my the love I feel for him is real god damn it don’t tell me otherwise he is amazing, and I bloody hope to god that the next book has him and her together I can’t cope. The cliffhanger!!!! Omg I want the third book now.

Better than the first one
This book is good because it really lets the reader get to know the character Nyx. It's better than the other one which should have been considered into a few chapters. Although this book was so much better than the first book it also failed to peak much interest in the other groups in the book.
I don't care what happens to the ridiculous female character Lumi. I have not liked the wolf character Ambrose since the first book when he allowed such a horrific pack initiation .
I don't like the witches in this series as they all seem unscrupulous and untrustworthy.
In short this reader is done with this series.

The curse is still in effect and LUMI is still the only one who can break it during a full moon. Witches are heavily involved , one in particular, and she’ll do anything and everything she can to save her coven. The mysteries continue to unfold, unexplained prophecies are again at work , the vampires and the wolf shifters are hunting and extreme dangers are still pursuing LUMI. She must constantly use her snow wolf instincts to stay alive and vows to do so, even if it kills her. Amazing reading !

This story is dark, sexy and intriguing. I am so drawn into these characters and the prophecy. The storyline is intense as Lumi, Nyx and Ambrose fight against time to break the curse. You don't know who to trust when it comes to Nyx and Ambrose. As the story unfolds more secrets and lies are revealed, power plays are made danger is around every corner. I can't wait to see what happens next for Lumi, Nyx and Ambrose.

This intriguing addition to the Mateless Shifters is a fast-paced, well-written storyline with drama, curses, plotting, betrayals, changing emotions, attraction, chemistry, and great secondary characters (some deserve their own story). The MCs are defined, mostly likable, engaging, have secrets, revealing some truths. I enjoyed this entertaining and engaging book. I voluntarily read an ARC and this is my honest review.

Mateless Shifters book two, Bitten by Bloodmoon continues where Marked by Moonlight ended. Lumi isn’t quite sure who to trust or believe. Betrayed by both Ambrose and Nyx, she’s still trying to figure things out and trying to break a curse. Definitely kept me on the edge of my seat awaiting answers, only to be held over a cliff again.

What is a girl to do when you can't shift, you're not sure which shifter is your true mate and it's on you to break the curse? Lumi has herself in quite the spot! I really loved watching grow into her strength and her bravery. She literally has no fear. When she discovers the truth of why she can't shift? I felt so angry on her behalf. I have to admit after this book I am team Nyx. That might change with the next book!!

Lumi's story continues in book two, Bitten by Bloodmoon, in the Mateless Shifter series, and it picks up where book one, Marked by Moonlight, left off. Lumi is torn between who she can trust as she's trying to figure out whether Ambrose or Nyx can break the curse. This is a definite page turner, and it ends in another cliffhanger, so now I wait for the next book to find out how this story ends. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

Book two of the Mateless Shifters series is an intense read. Book one had me hooked so I couldn't wait to read this book. The well written and fascinating storyline captured my attention from the start and had me on the edge of my seat. Highly recommend reading and I definitely look forward to continuing the series.

This was book two, it starts where book one left off. It was an exciting read. Lumi had to decide on Ambrose or Nyx to cure the bloodmoon curse, who will be her mate. It will keep you in the edge of your seat all the way through. Read the books to see what happens. You won’t be sorry. Looking forward to reading more books by Ella Miles.

Loved reading the spellbinding and mesmerizing paranormal story. When Lumi is about to complete the mating ritual with Ambrose, Nyx intervenes to save Lumi's life. Read the highly recommended, wonderfully written, and a must read riveting story. Can't wait to read the next story in the series by the phenomenal author, Ella Miles!

This is another very intriguing entry for this tempting series. Things get even more complex and twisty as the story continues and the inner turmoil and outer challenges create a rawness that even forces your own mind and heart to grapple with the implied choices and options that are offered as the tension and suspense swells. I look forward to reading the next book.

So many twists and turns this time around and wondering where all this is going with the love triangle between Lumi, Nyx and Ambrose. First read Marked By Moonlight, to get the entire backstory for this one. I Totally love the fact that Lumi is a Snow Wolf, as it is interesting to learn about her. This second book totally brings a story that is good and makes me long for the next one. I Loved It!!! No Spoilers!! I Recommend!.
