This one was epic!! We are preparing to the ending and we can feel it in this one. Next one the final one. High expectation!! We'll see how it goes! Awesome one!
World: Insane art. The world building is solid with AL the pieces coming together. The time this series used to build the feelings readers have for these characters and world is great.
Story: Amazing fights again and that's a lot of the story. There are emotional moments here and there and they are on point and really strong. The events are earned and tied to character making this arc a great penultimate arc
Characters: Great moments with Clare and Raki and another. It's strong and rings so true emotionally. Fantastic.
A beautiful fight, slowly making its way towards the final conclusion - final tricks are revealed, final strategies are attempted. It's a series I might want to revisit sometime.
The Awakened and Abyssal Ones still focus most of their armor, if any is present, on their arms and none on their breasts. I'm not really complaining. In fact, that alone deserves a star.
4/5 The penultimate volume volume of Claymore goes in a flash. Not much plot to describe either. This entire volume is just the final confrontation with Priscilla. There's a couple of small twists left here and there but ultimately it's just one giant brawl.
We do get to see a little bit of a flashback with Raki and Isley that is neat but it doesn't add more than some juxtaposition to what will finally hopefully take Priscilla down.
Clare and Priscilla face off on the cover of Volume 26.
TERESA OMG PEAK FICTION I DON'T EVEN CARE. There's nothing I love more than a manga villain so powerful that it takes the entire cast of the series to beat them. This is like the ending of Demon Slayer dialed up to an 11. Just an all out 1v20+ and it's still in the 1's favor.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
elim ayağım titriyo son 1 cilt kaldı her an herkes ölebilir her an her şey olabilir çığlık atasım geliyo EN EN EN EN EN EN EN EN EN EN EN iyi mangalardan birisini okuyorum şu an
A somewhat satisfying finale fight that has confusing coreography but satisfying pay offs and moments. However, the final villain upgrade feels unearned.
Claymore is a manga about Yoma who pretend to be human in order to kill and eat the humans. The Claymore are the hybrid of the two stronger faster but still human with the ability to slay the Yoma which they do for a price. They travel from village to village slaying Yoma with nothing but the sword on their back using the Yoma abilities but slowly turning into a monster that they hunt. When the time comes a Claymore will send a black card to another claymore to be slain before the Yoma takes over and so they die as a human.
In the 26th Vol the battles continue as the Claymores attempt to take out Priscilla even with the help of the awakened beings they don’t’ seem to be the match. As the battle continues they are pushed to the limits wearing Clare down in the battle as a former 47 she is one of the weakest and just can’t keep up with the others. Things may start going in their favor when they destroy Priscilla t last but it’s short lived because of her regeneration she’s back only this time she’s eaten the Abyssal and is adding the awakened to her body. We do catch a glimpse of what Isley told Raki so maybe he will show up in the last book.
I like Clare she’s a sword carrying slayer who isn’t afraid to die charging in risking her life. She's grown a lot in the last several volumes leading up to the battle in the north. After faking her death along with her fellow claymore's she's returned after seven years to battle the Organization. While she may not be the strongest she's determined and unwilling to give up. She's one of those underdog characters you can't help liking. We've seen a little of Raki having grown up into a man who fights yoma he’s been captured by the organization. Clare and Priscilla have been trapped in a ball of flesh locking them both away from the others.
I’ve seen all of the episodes on Netflix a few years ago actually binge watched them over a long weekend. While it’s been a while I don’t think the anime has gone this far in the series. I don’t remember the girls taking on the organization which is where the story has turned. It’s interesting learning that the organization which has been creating claymores for a long time may not be the good guys after all. I love the concept for the Claymore the hybrids created using parts from the monsters that they have been created to fight against the Yoma that they created. The art is great it gives me just enough to create the story in my head as I read each detailed page. This is only my 2nd manga so I don’t have a lot to base on but I’m super addicted to them. They are perfect for when I have some downtime or when I feel like reading back to back. I already know that the ending is close as I’m almost done.
This book is the 26th volume in the Claymore series, and the second to last in the series. The last book in this series, volume 27, is due to release in October 2015. This book continued in the same vein as the first one; lots and lots of awesome fight scenes with a couple of amazing revelations.
Cassandra and the uber Awakened One continue their battle. Meanwhile Clare and Raki take on Priscilla in a final battle...or is it?
This book picks up where volume 25 left off. Lots and lots of fighting and some excellent action scenes throughout. It’s been awhile since I read vol 25, so I found a few of the fighting scenes a bit confusing and hard to follow.
Clare does take some time to reflect about how meeting Raki changed her life and her outlook on things; this was a nice aside. We also get some backstory on how Raki trained with Isley.
The majority of the book is the remaining Claymores trying to kick the stuffing out of Priscilla. There are some crazy twists right at the end of the book, seriously the end...like the last page.
This manga continue to be well drawn. I love watching how Clare has changed over the series.
Overall this is a good addition to this manga series. I can’t wait to see how things wrap up in volume 27! I would recommend this series to those who enjoy strong female characters and action packed fantasy manga.
Today's post is on Claymore volume 26: A Blade From Far Away by Norihiro Yagi. It is the twentieth-sixth in the long running Claymore series, you need to have read the first twenty-five volumes to understand the story. It is 191 pages long and is published by Shonen Jump Advanced. The cover has Clarice and Priscilla facing off on it. The intended reader is someone who likes dark plots, high action, and strong female characters. There is mild foul language, no sexuality, nudity, and lots of violence in this book. The story is told from third person close of the main character. There Be Spoilers Ahead.
From the back of the book- Former Claymores Cassandra and Priscilla appear to be headed toward an epic conflict, as the warriors protecting the Holy City of Rabona attempt to orchestrate a battle between these two savage elements in order to avert complete annihilation. However, when Clare and Raki step in, the Awakened Ones' fury is redirected towards them!
Review- We get to see more of Raki's training and what advice Isley gave him for defeating Priscilla, that he would have to survive a killing blow to make her forget about him then with Clare he would have one strike. Most of the volume is fighting with little other plot going on in it. We get to see that Priscilla will do anything to survive, we see the end of the engineer by Priscilla's hand, and we get a hint about how Clare is going to stop her somehow using or resurrecting Teresa inside her. But with only one volume left Yagi has a lot to finish.
I give this volume a Four out of Five stars. I get nothing for my review and I bought this manga with my own money.
A VERY well-paced and structured volume with a great twist ending that makes sense and a deeply emotional moment that cuts through that satisfying cliffhanger. Really solid volume. Only thing detracting from bringing it to a 5/5 is Yagi’s consistent propensity to skip out on drawing panels that outline the in-between of certain movements, leaving the combat feeling very disjointed. I usually dislike extremely long battle sequences, but the core conflict here is just so interesting and the length of these battles allow for some really nice character moments. This is an incredibly chaotic battle, so the disjointed (but incredible) art adds to the messiness of it all. However, this has been a consistent critique of mine from the beginning of the series and I’m remiss to admit that it was never really fixed over the course of 27 volumes.
Otherwise, this series is heading to a very strong conclusion with this new, massive, satisfying development regarding Clare. One volume left. I’m sad!
The reason why Priscilla doesn't eat little girls is good and it even gives Ophelia's story more fuel. Makes me think that Raki should have been a little girl then, with the scent and being a little girl I would get it more. Clare interacts with a bunch of people while on missions. Why would she focus on him? I get it but I don't lol I wish Clare wasn't told what she feels but would come to that realization herself. It's annoying to have an MC that needs to be told why they can't fight, or why they have internally limited themselves lol. She does in the end but Deneve constantly being the voice that explains things is such an info dump. Not a fan. Also, Raki knowing what Priscilla is as a child is bullshit. And Isely predicting that Raki would even be a part of such a battle is bullshit.
Claire realizes the secret to defeat Priscilla, and this gives us the reasoning behind half Awakening, but I don't see the world building being resolved. Flashy fights and good art as usual.
Publication dates indicate that these volumes were released with plenty of time to take breaks in between. Years. I’m reading within the minutes, within the hour. Perhaps, PERHAPS, that might affect ones enjoyment. I’m strangely disappointed. I had a friend in college that spoke very highly of the series, in retrospect I think it’s due to the nearly all-female cast.
One volume away from the end and it’s starting to dawn on me just how toothless this story is becoming. The stairs felt dire in the first handful of volumes but not everyone just feels like forced of nature l who just can’t lose and that’s not really much fun. I’m sure that’ll change with this final volume but i just don’t feel any tension and havent for a while.
