A Sprinkle of Sabotage by Fiona Leitch brings a movie production, pranks, death, and some humor to the third book in the Nosey Parker cozy mystery series set in the Cornish town of Penstowan and the nearby community of Penstowan Cross. Jodie ‘Nosey’ Parker has moved back to her home town after leaving the London police force. Her 12 year-old daughter Daisy wanted her to do something less dangerous so Jodie retrained as a caterer and started Banquets and Bakes, her own catering company. It seems everyone in Penstowan is answering the casting call for movie extras including Jodie, her daughter, her mother, and many of her friends. But who is trying to sabotage the shoot? Or is it just pranks, accidents, and minor inconveniences?

With this third book, it now seemed like I was visiting with old friends. Jodie’s sense of humor and warmth was a delight. She was a likeable and friendly character that I continued to connect with. Her interactions with DCI Nathan Withers and long-time friend Tony Penhaligon varied from witty to serious and a little bit of everything in between. Will a true romance finally develop? The secondary characters continue to develop. In this case, we saw more depth in Nathan and Tony. Instead of only quaint characters, there were also realistic characters that added to the realism of the story. Does your family ever cause you embarrassment? Are you willing to give up a job you love so your child doesn’t worry about you?

The writing style continues to flow well and take this reader to Cornwall. The author did a good job of transporting me to the Cornish countryside and its small towns. She did a great job of ‘showing’ versus ‘telling’ which made the novel more enjoyable. The story had several twists, a couple of surprises at the end and gives readers food for thought. Additionally, having a sleuth that was not an amateur continues to bring depth to the novel that is often lacking in cozy mysteries.

Overall, this was a story that quickly drew me into Jodie’s world. It was a fun, appealing and entertaining read with a solid mystery to unravel and a fresh take on the protagonist. All of the major plot points were resolved satisfactorily, the atmosphere was just right, and there are some threads to be explored in future books. Themes include the friendship, family, complicated relationships, small town attitudes, movie productions, murder, romance, and much more. Relationships continue to play a major role in this series.

I recommend it to those that enjoy the genre. It was a fun and relaxing read and I can’t wait for the next book featuring Jodie and her family and friends. It even includes a recipe at the end of the book.

HarperCollins UK, One More Chapter and Fiona Leitch provided a complimentary digital ARC of this novel via NetGalley. This is my honest review. Opinions are mine alone and are not biased in any way. Publication date is currently set for March 11, 2021.

The Perfect Cornish Murder is the 3rd-book in Fiona Leitch's Nosey Parker Mystery series. I love this series so much.

I read them a little out of order, so even though this is number 3 out of 7, it was actually the last one I had left to read, which makes me sad.

If you are unfamiliar with these books, let me give you a brief breakdown and perhaps inspire you to give them a go.

This is an Adult Cozy Mystery series that follows Jodie Parker, who resigned from the Metropolitan Police Force in London after a close call. She then returned to her native village of Penstowan in Cornwall, with her teen daughter, Daisy, and their Pomeranian, Germaine.

Jodie is now pursuing her love of cooking and has created her own catering company, which is starting to gain some traction in the local area.

Old habits die hard though, so any time a crime occurs in Jodie's proximity, she's gonna look into it. This has brought her into contact with charming DCI, Nathan Withers. This is one connection she's hoping will continue to grow just as much as her catering business.

In this installment, a film crew has come to Penstowan and many regulars are getting involved in the process as extras, including Jodie's daughter, Mom and best friend, Tony.

Even Jodie begrudgingly participates, swept up in all the hubbub. She's hates her assigned costume and finds the set rather boring, but when things start going wrong, including the injury of their caterer, Jodie takes over that role and starts to feel much more in her element.

As more and more mysterious incidents occur on set, they delay filming, and rumors of a curse start to circulate. It's not until someone ends up dead though, that Jodie actually begins to believe that may be true.

DCI Withers, never far away, arrives to investigate, but it's Jodie's work behind that scenes that could ultimately end up cracking the case.

Yet again I was absolutely swept up in this mystery and the drama of Penstowan. I have come to love this cast of characters so much over the course of these 7-books. I'm honestly hoping it never ends.

Every time I crack a new one, I can't wait to see what sort of hi-jinks Jodie and friends and are going to get up to next. She's such a good Mum and daughter. The relationship dynamics in these stories are one of my favorite elements.

This one was really fun too because of the whole idea of a film crew invading this small town, and all the high level people that were bandying about way outside their natural environments.

The mystery was well plotted and did succeed in keeping me on my toes. I definitely had theories, but it was fun watching all the pieces slot into place.

I also loved getting more with Jodie and Nathan. They were fairly new to each other at this point, so it was fun for me to get to go back and sort of relive how it all began.

If you love Cozy Mysteries, particularly those set in a village, or small town, that have humorous characters and happy vibes, you should definitely check this series out. It's heart-warming, amusing and a great escape from reality.

I haven't heard an announcement for an 8th-book yet, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this series continues for many years to come.

I will happily read each and every one!

It was okay. These books are okay.
You know, it is easy to look at the Stephanie Plum books and say that Janet Evanovitch follows a formula and it isn’t so hard to do. But it is. All of the other books who try to copy it usually fail. These books included. They just don’t stand up. It is not so easy to keep two love interests interesting for book after book. It is not so easy to have running gags not get stale (I’m looking at you fart jokes).
I think about this a lot.

A Sprinkle of Sabotage is the third instalment in the Nosey Parker Cosy Mystery series, set in the quaint village of Penstowan, a small seaside resort in Cornwall. Ex-copper turned caterer with her own company, Banquets and Bakes, Jodie "Nosey" Parker moved back to her small hometown after almost twenty years in London’s Metropolitan Police Force. With her teenage daughter, twelve-year-old Daisy, in tow, and her slightly batty mother, Shirley, still living there, Jodie plans on having a quiet life running her new business. But soon the not-so-amateur detective is back in action on a new case ably assisted by her old childhood sweetheart Tony and hunky newcomer, DCI Nathan Withers, not to mention new member of the family Germaine the cute Pomeranian dog. It's 8:30 on a Saturday morning and seventy-year-old Shirley comes walking into the kitchen in a floor-length gown adorned with black sequins. Jodie is puzzled until her mum informs her that today, 27th September, is casting day for a period fantasy drama and they are looking for lots of extras to take part in the movie that'll be shot in October at Polvarrow House, Penstowan Cross. The townsfolk are all excited at the prospect of not only being in a film but rubbing shoulders with the likes of hunky Zac Smith. Jodie was reluctant but the promise of good pay was enough to entice her, as it would allow her to buy Daisy a new computer for her upcoming thirteenth birthday, so they get their glad rags on and set off - Jodie, Daisy and Shirley together.

Persuaded to take part by long-term best friend Tony Penhaligan, Jodie ends up cast as a washerwoman and part of a group of five, also featuring new friend Debbie. She isn't best pleased about her role, so when food truck owner Gino breaks his arm after falling down the stairs, Jodie takes over while he ships himself off to the hospital. She enjoys feeding the hungry crowds far more than just standing around doing nothing and waiting until she's needed. As other accidents and strange incidents happen around the set Jodie begins to wonder if the rumour about the movie being cursed is true. A short time later the lead actor is brutally murdered and she realises there is a killer on the loose. Who and why would someone wish to sabotage the movie? Jodie joins DCI Nathan Withers to try to get to the bottom of it all. This is a riveting and compulsive cosy mystery set against a picture-postcard backdrop and the hint of romance and flirtation brewing between Jodie and both Tony and Nathan was a lovely lighthearted touch to the story. There's mischief, murder and mayhem with a liberal dollop of intrigue, ample twists and revelations and added humour. Whenever I am reacquainted with the cast it's always a pleasure and they have come to feel like old friends; I am invested in them all and really care about how their lives are going. It's a sumptuous cosy with recipes, flirtation and some naughty humour with a narrative that is full of fun and mouthwatering descriptions of delicious foods. A charming, suspenseful and entertaining read, this is a mystery I highly recommend.

A Sprinkle Of Sabotage was a nice, enjoyable, easy read.
I was so immersed in the plot I’ve accidentally solved the mystery before our heroine does, but it was very well written that I’ve only understood why it happened when the author was ready to tell it.

A movie crew descends on the small cornish town of Penstowan, eliciting an excited buzz among the villagers who sign up as extras. That’s the reason why Jodie finds herself on set when some minor accidents happen, making her cop intuition tinkles. Is the movie cursed for real like many actors think or is there a criminal plan behind these incidents? Don’t worry, Jodie will help the always charming DCI Withers to find out.

I really like the character of Jodie, she is a mess, she has a lot on her plate, being a single mother, trying to make her new caterer company profitable, taking care of her mum plus making sense of her feelings for two men, however she never miss the opportunity to be nosey and to help the police with new cases.

I really wish to read many more adventures in this series because these characters easily became like friends to me and I don’t want to say goodbye.

More romance than mystery it seemed. Took forever to get to the murder and in the end, was surprised the main character had the time to solve a crime between all the time spent saying she wasn't jealous and pining for uncertain chest hair and 6 packs

Begrudgingly Jodie Parker signs up to be an extra in the filming of a fantasy drama movie that has come to her small village so she can afford to buy her daughter a computer for her birthday. However, a series of accidents have the cast and crew feeling they are cursed but then when someone ends up dead Jodie thinks she should snoop around and help the handsome DCI Withers.

This British cozy is a well rounded story with mystery, friendships, humor and a touch of romance. This is the third book in The Nosey Parker Mysteries and could be read as a stand alone but I am glad I read the first two because they were a great lead into this story. Thanks to One More Chapter and NetGalley for an ARC. The opinions expressed are my own.

I enjoyed this one, the pace was good, the plot was interesting and ease of the story was comfortable enough to read in an afternoon and evening. I hope there are more like this one still to come. The characters, the setting and the storyline leave you wanting for more

A bit too much focus on romance for my liking. While there is a laudable emphasis on honesty in relationships I roll my eyes at the indecision that takes up so many pages. The sleuthing was competent .

This is the third book in the Nosey Parker series by Fiona Leitch.

This story was a little bit more up my alley than book two. This one featured Jodie more focused on the two men in her life. She has been noticing Tony is a bit more manly than she thought and has been catching her eye. Then Nathan reveals that his father is sick and he has gotten a job offer back closer to where his parents live. Now Jodie is perplexed. What does she really want?

Then add to that the fact that one of the actors has been murdered and the caterer has a nasty fall making Jodie have to fill in for him and her plate is completely jam packed.

I am totally digging this series and look forward to each book that pops up. It is quickly becoming one of my favorite book universes. Joanne Fluke better watch out, she has some real competition her for a series that will stand the test of time.

If you like cozy mysteries, definitely check this one out. You won’t be disappointed.

I received this as an ARC (Advanced Reader Copy) in return for an honest review. I thank NetGalley, the publisher and the author for allowing me to read this title.

This was more of a 3.5 stars for me. I loved how it explored Jodie and Tony’s relationship but I missed the push and pull flirting with Nathan.

The murder mystery didn’t engage me quite as much as the previous two books, but that may be because I wasn’t invested in the victim or the sort-of main suspect.

Retired cop, Nosey Jodie Parker turned caterer is at it again. In all fairness, she just wants to live a quiet life with her daughter and mom, but something (a dead body) always seems to ruin things. I love these cozy mysteries by Fiona Leitch! Jodie is a refreshing character that I can relate to, full of charm, wit, and she has a sense of humor that will have you howling. This story flows nicely, and the mystery of the murder unfolds timely and naturally, keeping you in suspense and wondering, which I loved. Jodie is so funny, and the side stories with her daughter and mom (and dog) help round out the plot and give it depth, and of course DCI Winters and friend Tony are the icing on the cake. I love that she is a caterer because it allows Mrs. Leitch to set the story in so many different locations. The first book was set at a wedding, the second was at an art’s fair and this third one involved film and television. I found this book entertaining and wonderful. I can’t wait to read the next one! Already wondering where Jodie will take us next!

Hormones, love, lust and flatulence are in the air in Fiona Leitch’s A Sprinkle of Sabotage, the third book in the Jodie (Nosey)Parker series. We’re invited back to the Cornish village of Penstowan and into the lives of ex cop turned caterer Jodie, daughter Daisy, mum Shirley and best friends Tony and Debbie for another helping of mischief, murder and mayhem. This time around these Cornish folk are all excited by the prospect of rubbing shoulders with the movie stars. A casting audition for extras in the upcoming period drama to be filmed at Polvarrow House is taking place and the Parker household is in the throes of glamming up for the occasion, the (minuscule) chance to see their names in lights and earn some much needed cash the only incentives required. The hilarious opening scene in which Shirley steals the limelight paves the way for much lighthearted mildly saucy humour, silliness, recipes, romance and yes you’ve guessed it, murder with one of my favourite cozy crime sleuths taking centre stage. Amid gallons of giggles, flirty banter and a few handsome hunks to swoon over there’s a culinary theme to murder as Fiona Leitch serves up another tempting cozy mystery. Dim the lights, raise the curtain and let the show begin!

This production is plagued from the outset by plenty of minor but annoying setbacks with the cast of the show, young and gorgeous Zac Smith, national treasure Faith Mackenzie, former hell raiser Jeremy Mayhew and Japanese actress Kimi Takahashi all finding themselves the targets of what everybody assumes to be a prankster a la Scooby Doo style. Laugh out loud moments ensue as Tony Penhaligon comes to the rescue of damsels (and a Pekingese) in distress, displaying a D’Arcy-esque physique and manner that has hearts aflutter including Jodie’s. There’s a definite hint of jealousy in the air as our funny, flawed and lovable heroine sees best friend Tony in a whole new light but will romance blossom between ‘potato sack’ wearing Jodie and her ‘leaving nothing to the imagination tight trouser frilly shirt’ wearing best friend or is DI Nathan Withers waiting in the wings to make an appearance and announce himself as a rival for Jodie’s affections? The author intends to (still!) keep her readers guessing as before daggers can be drawn at dawn, this investigation begins in earnest and it’s all work and no play for Nathan and Jodie. Gino, the on-site caterer has taken a tumble down the steps of his van breaking his elbow, providing Jodie with the opportunity to hold the fort and indulge in her favourite pastime of snooping. She’s in the perfect position to follow her instincts (and her nose!) warning her that Gino’s fall is far from accidental. Given all that has happened so far on set, the belief that this production is cursed may not be such a far fetched theory after all. Is someone trying to sabotage the shoot and if so why? We’re in safe, capable hands as Nathan and Jodie set out to determine whether there’s a joker in their midst or a saboteur who may be about to take pranking to a whole new level.

This is one hunger inducing storyline from start to finish! Food, glorious food is not the only thing on the menu as Jodie juggles her culinary skills with her detective ones. I’m never sure who is assisting who in these investigations but Nathan and Jodie are a perfect crime busting duo, complimenting each other like gin and tonic, fish and chips, Tom and Jerry! I simply can’t get enough of their joint adventures which ALWAYS bring a smile to my face.

There’s a definite Japanese theme running through their latest investigation and since actress Kimi Takahasi and sister Aiko are in town what better way to make them feel right at home than to serve up some mouth wateringly delicious cultural cuisine in honour of their birthday. However the party celebrations are short lived when it’s a Japanese delicacy that is to blame for the fact one actor is left dead and the whole filming schedule in disarray. Yet another unfortunate (and in this case tragic) accident or the work of the so called saboteur? Masks will slip, and truths will be revealed as Zac and his fellow cast members and crew are subjected to some gentle(ish) interrogation by both Jodie and Nathan. In their professional capacity as actors these characters are adept at turning on every conceivable emotion but what lies at the heart of this sabotage? Is there a scent of jealousy or scandal or blackmail in the sea air?

Much as I enjoy unraveling these mysteries which are far from easy to solve I relish all the human interactions between friends, family and potential lovers. These characters are all inviting, warm individuals and I love being a fly on the wall, privy to details of their personal lives which mainly only focus on the positive. The storylines are a perfect antidote to everyday reality and there’s really no better way to lose yourself in a piece of fiction than to familiarise yourself with the Penstowan crowd and all their harmless antics. Am I allowed to say I love the Britishness of the humour which partly reminds me of the Carry on films?!?

Give me a Jodie (Nosey) Parker novel, a cup of strong builders tea, or if I’m feeling particularly indulgent, a glass of wine any day of the week and I’m in heaven! This series offers up a slice of happiness on a plate and will definitely lift your spirits but will not curb your appetite for wanting more! Keep them coming Fiona because I now count Jodie and her Cornish friends as characters I know and love and I’m sure I can hear wedding bells in the distance for Nathan and his nosey bride to be or is that just wishful thinking on my part? If you haven’t already discovered this cozy mystery series then you can easily read A Sprinkle of Sabotage as a stand-alone or why not treat yourself to all three? This series in my opinion is as binge worthy as Bridgerton! My thanks as always to the publisher One More Chapter and Netgalley for giving me the opportunity to read.

"A Sprinkle of Sabotage” the 3rd instalment in The Nosey Parker Cozy Mystery series by Fiona Leitch. I love visiting Cornwall and the village of Penstowan along with Jodie, Daisy, Tony and Nathan. This go around a film company has come to town and needs extras so everyone applies, but this start to go wrong little accidents which set off Jodies spidey sense...

Plus things come to a head with respect to Nathan and Tony and Jodies true feelings... I won’t say anything else as I don’t want to spoil it for anyone.

The mystery was really interesting, well plotted, and had just enough twists to keep you engrossed and wanting to know what happens next. I really hope there will be a book 4 coming out soon, as I can’t get enough of this series.

I recommend this book to all my cozy lover friends.

I requested and received an Advanced Readers Copy from Harper Collins UK. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This is the third instalment in Fiona Leitch's Nosey Parker Mysteries series. Set in a Cornish coastal town, Jodie 'Nosey' Parker has moved back to her small hometown for a more peaceful life. She has served in the Metropolitan Police force for longer than she cares to remember and is in Penstowan after her retirement along with her daughter Daisy, aged 12, as new residents. Passionate about baking, she wanted to own and run her own catering company so she has retrained as a caterer, setting up Banquets and Bakes.

In this instalment, a film company is in town looking to cast the townsfolk for extras in a period drama fantasy to be shot later in the year at Polvarrow House, Penstowan Cross. Jodie sees an opportunity to spend some time with her mum, Shirley and Daisy and she needs the money to buy a new computer for her daughter and repair the Gimpmobile (her catering van) so tries to drum up some enthusiasm for the casting. Encouraged by her long-term best friend Tony Penhaligan, Jodie ends up cast as a washerwoman as part of a group of five, along with new friend Debbie. When the film company's food van owner Gino has an accident, Jodie jumps in to help feed the hungry crowds. Other mishaps and strange incidents occur and then the lead actor is brutally murdered and she realises there is a killer at large.

This is a riveting cozy, rich in mystery, intrigue and deception. The police investigate and Jodie is eager to offer her expertise and help in whatever way she can. I continued to warm to the character of Jodie and found her extremely down-to-earth, with a terrific no-nonsense attitude and the lead detective, DCI Nathan Withers was amenable to Jodie helping out.

Fiona Leitch's writing style is imaginative and the story has depth and a great flow. The author did a brilliant job of transporting me to the Cornish countryside and I felt the rustic charm whilst easily visualising the chocolate-box setting. Love is in the air for the ex-copper turned caterer, Jodie as childhood friend Tony is still around and there's the continuation of the odd romantic rumbling from DCI Withers who's happy to let Jodie assist in the case unperturbed by her wheedling into police matters. I enjoyed that all of the vivid characters had something to contribute to the story and this engaging mystery was a pleasure to read from beginning to end. I recommend A Sprinkle of Sabotage very highly especially if you like your cozies with mouthwatering recipes and a delectable dash of romance.

I received a complimentary copy of this novel at my request from One More Chapter via NetGalley. This review is my own unbiased opinion.

There is great excitement in the small Cornish village of Penstowen; not only is a film company completing their latest blockbuster nearby but they need extras and lots of them. Jodie (Nosey) Parker is surrounded by that excitement as both her mum, Shirley and daughter, Daisy are determined to audition.

Talked into joining in all the hullabaloo by best friend, Tony, Jodie soon finds herself signed up, as part of a group of five, with new friend Debbie. The air is full of excitement and even Jodie is beginning to enjoy herself when the location chef, Gino, falls on the canteen steps and breaks his arm. Before she can even process what's happening Jodie finds herself feeding the hungry masses rather than standing around bored for hours on end and she couldn't be happier.

With a series of small accidents holding up proceedings Jodie begins to wonder whether they are all a coincidence or if someone is trying to cause problems purposely. With DCI Nathan Withers on the case and everyone's nerves frayed is it only a matter of time before something more serious happens?

This is the third book in a series which is fast becoming a firm favourite. The first chapter alone is worth five stars and had me laughing out loud more than once. Geraldine the dog is still cocking her leg on local walks! According to Josie this is because she's a bit bossy! Add this to Josie's complicated private life which continues alongside the happenings on set and this is an entertaining, humorous read with the promise of book four mentioned in the recipe at the end of the story.

I was able to read an advanced copy of this book thanks to NetGalley and the publishers but the opinions expressed are my own. I love this series and recommend it highly.

What a fabulous read this is, the third in the cozy mystery series written. by Fiona Leitch and staring the completely entertaining Jodie ‘Nosey’ Parker.
In this outing Jodie and many of the other locals are involved with a film which is being shot locally. Many of the locals have secured small roles however Jodie is dressed as a serving maid in a sackcloth and decides that the food truck is for her, especially as it’s owner has befallen one of many ‘cursed’ accidents that have occurred on and around the set.
As usual with Jodie and her partner in crime DI Nathan Withers a murder occurs that they need to solve among the intrigue of the cast and crew.
There are many laugh out loud moments and we finally get to see if Jodie is destined to be with best friend Tony or the handsome DI.
The book is easy to read and the story is well written. Although this is a series it could be read as a standalone although as all the books are great and the characters build from one to another then I would highly recommend starting at the first and reading them all.
I particularly the way that the author adds a recipe to the end of the book. In this instance as Jodie has been cooking Japanese food it is a Japanese recipe, where she adds some funny personal asides about the search for matcha powder.
Thank you to Netgalley, the publisher and the author for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

A Sprinkle of Sabotage is the third book in the The Nosey Parker Mysteries series by Fiona Leitch. It can easily be read as a standalone book. You can easily jump into this book without reading the first two books.

This book was so much fun to read!!!! I love the characters. (They feel like the could be real people. Like, I want to move there and hang out with them. ) The author has created such deep personalities for them! Jodie is awesome. She's a great mom, daughter, and friend, who gives back with all she has! Plus, she's funny and snarky!

The mystery in this book was incredible! It felt like peeling back layers on an onion! So good!

Overall, I absolutely loved this book and I can't wait to read the next one!!! (Please let there be a new book soon!) If you love cozy mysteries, you must read these books!

A film crew is coming to Penstowan and it seems everyone wants to be cast as an extra, so Jodie takes her Mum and Daisy and joins them in the job. While Jodie is cast, she’s less than thrilled to be the help, so she jumps at the chance to take over for the food truck when the owner has an accident and breaks his arm. But too many odd things are going on around the shoot and the cast thinks the shoot is cursed.

After one of the stars dies, the police are called in and Jodie transforms into her alter ego, Nosey, and sees more going on than the DCI suspects. Will the movie finish filming, or will the final nails in its coffin shut it down for good? Only the killer knows and no one suspects a thing except for Jodie and Nathan.

This is a fun series set in Cornwall and I can’t get enough of it. I’m hoping it wasn’t just a three part series and is over. There’s far too much left for Jodie to stick her nose into and we must have more! If you love cozies, especially British cozies, you must add this to your reading list!

A film company is coming to the Cornish village of Penstowan, and the whole village turn up to be cast as extras, even Jodie ‘Nosey’ Parker. Determined to join in with the fun and ignore any dramas, Jodie is going to make the most of this time with her mum and daughter and of the potential to see their name in lights… or really small writing on the credits page. But right on cue, the company’s caterer Gino falls & breaks his arm so Jodie steps up. As other small accidents begin to happen, it becomes clear that the filming is being sabotaged.
This is the third book in this entertaining, page turning series. I just love Jodie who is always at the right place at the right or wrong time. We have all the regulars Tony, Shirley, Daisy & Nathan, who always add to the story. The story flows effortlessly, not everything is as it seems, the film crew start to believe the filming is cursed but then things turn far more serious. There are plenty of red herrings as well as twists & turns to keep me enthralled. There’s also the Jodie, Tony & Nathan triangle & things come to a head. Once again I thoroughly enjoyed it & look to many more in the series
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read

I think this is my favourite of the series so far, I was completely hooked on this one.

Well there is the continuation of the storyline as to who Jodie may end up with, given she clearly fancies Nathan but best friend Tony clearly has designs on Jodie. If you have been reading the series so far you will be delighted to hear there is a resolution to this in this book, but there is no way I am ever going to tell you.

After all i love Nathan and Tony!

Ah Jodie, the ultimate Nosey Parker, who yet again seems to be in the wrong place at the wrong time and thus can't help but coming involved in a new mystery as it appears someone is determined to de-rail the movie that is being filmed in town.

And Jodie who was only on set to be an extra, ends up running the catering van and doing some detecting on the side. Well it's good to see that Nathan has more or less accepted that she is going to want to investigate and includes her in various conversations.

I had a very strong inkling as to who was causing the sabotage and their motivations. And for most of the story my own theory held up, so I was completely delighted to discover I was completely and utterly wrong, and what was written was even better than anything I could come up with. So probably a good thing I'm not an author or a detective!

This is a fabulous cosy mystery and I look forward to seeing what's next for these characters. Each book seems to be getting better and better which is something I like to see in a series, and even though I have read a lot of books between me reading A Brush with Death and this it really only took a few pages to feel back at home with the characters.

Thoroughly enjoyable mystery.

Thank you to One More Chapter and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

Jodie Parker (nickname ‘Nosey Parker’) served in the Met Police but when she finally gave up on her horrible husband, she returned to the Cornish village in which she’d been born and bred, taking her daughter, Daisy, with her. Jodie also decided on a career change and had always loved baking, so she did a college course with the intention of setting up a catering company.

Jodie is back again, and it’s nice to see some familiar characters as well. This book can be read as a standalone.

A film company comes to the village and nearly everyone wants to sign up as an acting extra, including Jodie, her mum, and her daughter. The set caterer, Gino, has an accident so Jodie takes over from him. More incidents happen and it looks as though the rumours about the film being cursed might be true, especially when the lead actor is murdered.

In the style of Agatha Raisin and Midsomer Murders, this is a really interesting and entertaining read without being too heavy-duty. I loved it!

Thank you to NetGalley, HarperCollins UK, and One More Chapter for an advance reader copy in return for an honest review.

A great cosy mystery book with a sense of humour.

Jodie an ex policewoman moved to a small Cornish village for a quiet life with her 12yr old daughter and takes up catering. Then a film crew comes to the village and the whole village wants to be extra`s including Jodie`s mam and daughter.

Then things start happening, is it pranks, serious or a curse? Then after a birthday meal with the main actors one dies others are sick, is it accidental food poisoning or murder.
In comes. DCI Nathan Withers who Jodie has strong feeling for but is it recuperated?

Great characters especially Jodie who`s life unfolds on the way.
Good recipes included
This is the third in the series but can be read alone, I`ve read one other and will definitely read more.

Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest review

In the 3rd Nosey Parker Mystery, a film is being made near Penstowan and the town residents are eager to be extras on set. Jodie, her Mum, Tony, Debbie and daughter Daisy all apply to be extras. Fun and chaos ensue. Pranks occur that aren't really funny and the on-site chef is hurt, which gives Jodie the chance to move into a cooking role that is more her style.
Tony has a surprising six pack and Darcy-like rise from the pond on-site. (see the BBC version of Pride and Prejudice)
Nathan is worried about his parents and has a job offer back in Liverpool.
The mystery is really well done with good red herrings. Jodie finally gets some of her relationships worked out. This book isn't as focused on men/preoccupation with physical relationships as book 2, which really improved it in my opinion.
I appreciate the opportunity to review a pre-release copy of the book.

Nosey Parker couldn't help herself. She was at it again. This was a fast, fun read which I could finish in a couple of hours. The plot was easily guessable, but the prose kept me searching for the motive.

Another delightful visit to Cornwall. It is so much fun to translate the English to American. Great to be back with the family, friends and now a movie crew and cast are added to the mix. Enjoyable series. Thanks to the publisher for providing a copy via NetGalley.

Such a fun read!

Another fab read in this cosy mystery series with twists and turns and laugh-out-loud humour. I went along for the ride, enjoying the side characters as much as ever and wondering where the romantic sub-plot would take us. Don't miss this series!

This is my first book by this author and it was very enjoyable. It is third in a series, which I hadn't realised when I started reading it, but can be read as a standalone. I did pick up that a couple of story arcs that involved relationships were obviously a continuation from the previous books, but I was able to glean enough information to have a pretty good idea of how things stood.

The mystery was good and not as straightforward as I first thought. It kept me guessing because each time I thought I'd figured something out, another layer would be revealed.

I loved all the food references. The recipe at the back sounds divine and I may even give it a crack! This was a lighthearted and cosy read and I enjoyed how it all wrapped up at the end.
