Thank you to NetGalley and the author for the advance copy of this children’s book in exchange for my honest review.
Otto Normal’s Monsterton: The Curious Case of the Bloodless Hound is a spooky and imaginative middle grade sequel that blends prose with full-color comic storytelling. Set in the eerie world of Monsterton, the story follows Otto and his companions as they investigate a mysterious hound lurking within the twisting forest.
The hybrid format works especially well, combining atmospheric illustrations with engaging narrative text to create a visually immersive reading experience. The tone balances mystery, adventure, and gentle humor, making it approachable without being overly frightening. The cast of characters is distinctive and memorable, and the theme of belonging through difference is woven naturally into the story.
This book will appeal to readers who enjoy spooky adventures, graphic novel elements, and imaginative worlds. Overall, The Curious Case of the Bloodless Hound is an entertaining and visually striking installment that offers both suspense and heart for middle grade audiences.
Great read!!! The storyline is simple, nothing complicated. The friendship portrayed in this book is soooo great. All the monsters help each other and Otto. The adventure is so fun in this book. I enjoy reading this. It so fun that the book combined pages of text like novels and then pages with comics. The concept was great. The art is cute!! . . Thank you to the publisher and netgalley for giving me this opportunity to read this book in advance~
