This book personifies the world around us and imagines what is being said by sunrise, the darkness, the distance, etc. I read this in ebook format, and I must urge you not to. Not because it is bad in any way, but because it is a book begging to exist beyond a screen. I can only imagine the full-page spread illustrations, and I am beyond excited to get a hold of a physical copy. As for the writing, it is so tender and warm. It reminds me of the first time I stumbled upon The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse and how held I felt. The illustrations are beautiful, and the writing is gentle. I did find the writing's formatting repetitive towards the end, and it would have been nice if some of the quotes had started with 'the rain cloud replied...' instead of always ending there. It had a lovely sentiment, despite not breaking any new ground, and it is a beautifully illustrated book that is good for the heart.
