This book has a large amount of nutrition and wellness evidence based material for anyone starting out on a GLP-1.

I like how each tip had a small blurb which made it easy to read. The language was easy to understand for the intended audience and I picked up a few things as a Dietitian that I could instill in my practice.

Sometimes some of the tips felt redundant or the overuse of the word GLP-1 felt repetitive but overall very comprehensive!

While the book is comprehensive, it could be enhanced by addressing some areas. The frequent use of the term GLP-1 and some of the tips felt a bit repetitive. For future editions, consider restructuring the book with smaller chapters or adding a brief introduction to each topic before presenting the tips. I also recommend including a dedicated section on the benefits of working with a dietitian while on a GLP-1. Finally, I suggest rewording the phrase "healthcare bestie" to something more professional, like supportive "healthcare advocate," or "healthcare ally" which better reflects the necessary professional boundaries in patient-provider relationships.

Dietician, Gianna Beasley has provided a great handbook full of information, tips and strategies relating to GLP-1’s.
I have friends who are on this journey so I was interested to learn more and get a better understanding of what they are experiencing, particularly with the side effects.

I learned so much and recommend this book to anyone wanting easy to understand, intro level information on nutrition and wellness.
Many things I read about but never really took time to learn beyond the basics were explained simply. I finally learned and took the time to work out my total daily energy expenditure, and macro percentages for proteins and carbs.

Macro and micro nutrients were given lots of valuable space with info on how to meet these daily and the importance of each. I loved some of the recipe suggestions like adding some cauliflower rice within brown rice.

I found the GLP-1 basics super interesting, particularly around how it works.

The 175 tips are broken into 5 chapters making this a super accessible resource for anyone on this journey. The side effects are outlined and numerous methods to manage these are provided as are the importance of daily habit hygiene’s like sleep, stress management and hydration,
The final section on transitioning off GLP-1’s is a valuable, important inclusion which hopefully, is followed well and those using these drugs can create really solid habits before they commence their transition.

Highly recommended book.

This book is a must read for anyone who takes GLP-1s. I decided to give this a read because I personally take Zepbound and had questions needing answers and wanted tips on how to adjust my lifestyle with this drug. The outline of the book is well put together and literally has all the information you could want or need when taking a GLP-1.
The book is a guide from beginning of your journey and follows you through so that you can make healthy decisions that will positively impact your life. You also get what I consider a “dummy” guide for nutrition that spells out all the proteins, calories, vitamins, meals and more so that you can understand without being overwhelmed. Along with nutrition the book has a focus on your mental and physical well being and it helps guide you in maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
And in the end to wrap it all up we get a look into what it looks like when we have to ultimately transition off the GLP-1, because if you are taking these then you know it isn’t a permeant solution, we are meant to navigate and transform like the beautiful butterflies we are and come out a healthier and better version of ourselves.

The GLP-1 Solution is a great little handbook providing a range of advice for people taking GLP-1 medications (ozempic, mounjaro, etc). Nothing in the book is revelatory - eat well, move more, and get enough sleep are the key messages. But it distils this advice into handy bite sized tips providing a range of options. E.g. there are probably a dozen different tips for getting more protein in your diet, and a bunch of different ways to approach sleeping better. It feels like it is providing you with some manageable options, maybe you can't do X, but you can try Y or Z. Best of all it is not judgemental or moralistic, it just gives the facts and tips in straightforward language.
My only disappointment was that it didn't give suggestions for specific web tools, e.g. calculators for working out your BMR, calorie counting, etc. I hope nobody actually uses the equations in the book when it is so easy to do it online!

The first 3/4 was pretty good, though a bit boring to read (for me) because of the format of a bunch of "tips" instead of regular chapters.

The last part on maintenance, though, will do a real disservice to readers. It suggests that the default should be on getting off of these meds and just relying on "healthy habits", when science shows that very few people are able to maintain their weight loss without them. I think this will make a lot of people feel like failures when this doesn't work for them.

I'm incredibly fascinated by GLP-1's for inflammation as I have an autoimmune disease. I'm not using one, but I find this topic riveting since so many people are. I loved the entire book from start to finish since it included a lot of food and health science that can be applied in any part of life, to people who are not on a GLP-1 as well. I rediscovered my love for kiwis due to reading this book!

This book is a great tool for anyone new to integrating a GLP-1 into their lifestyle. It’s full of great insight, tips and tricks to be successful and reach your goals.
