Creatures of the land grapple with their differences from creatures of the sea when a black panther lusts after his sea otter coworker and a down-on-his-luck iguana adopts a lost penguin. A snake nurse and a sick mouse develop an inappropriate, dangerous relationship. Our favorite BEASTARS couple, rabbit Haru and wolf Legoshi, finally take their relationship to another level. And more!
Paru Itagaki ( 板垣巴留, Itagaki Paru) is a multi-award-winning Japanese manga artist, known mainly for her work Beastars. She is the daughter of Keisuke Itagaki.
Six more oneshot shorts from the universe of BEASTARS. These stories don't really have a major connection to the original series (though the last one is something of an epilogue?) so you don't have to read the whole story, but it's recommended.
We've got the story of a panther struggling with his natural instincts and a sea otter who sees absolutely nothing wrong with that. In the second, a zebra and a white tiger connect on a primal (and potentially dangerous) level. In the third, a snake nurse gets a little too cozy with an elderly mouse patient. The fourth is about a stalker German Shepherd who follows his nose straight into danger. In the fifth, a young iguana struggles with alcohol addiction while taking care of a baby penguin. And lastly, Haru tries to get the ever cautious Legoshi... excited.
Being a fan of Beastars and having read the other three volumes of Beast Complex, I was happy to find there was a new one just before Christmas.
There was an interesting variety of stories to this one, and I was happy to see another look into the life of Legoshi and Haru along with an appearance from another character from Beastars.
I definitely look forward to more, and if you're a fan of the story from Beastars and especially if you enjoy the formatting of Beast Complex, there's much of what you'd expect in this along with the interesting twists you may not realize are coming that happen in these stories.
