This book was an absolute delight to explore. It is the perfect combination of fun, flavor, and feel good indulgence. I loved how it offered creative and healthier alternatives to traditional sodas, perfect for anyone who wants to treat themselves without all the artificial ingredients and excess sugar found in store bought brands.

One of my favorite aspects of the book was the inclusion of clever copycat recipes for popular soda flavors. Not only did these feel nostalgic, but they also gave me the peace of mind of knowing exactly what I was drinking. It was a great reminder that you can still enjoy familiar favorites in a way that feels more wholesome and intentional.

The sections featuring herbs, spices, and seasonal ingredients were standout highlights for me. I appreciated how the book encouraged experimenting with fresh, natural flavors, something I hadn’t really considered before when it came to soda. These parts of the book made the whole process feel elevated, almost like crafting a signature cocktail but without the alcohol.

The recipes themselves were refreshingly simple and easy to follow, yet the end results felt surprisingly fancy. Whether I was throwing together a quick afternoon refresher or prepping one for my husband and friends, each recipe felt accessible and rewarding.

Overall, this book brought a spark of creativity into my kitchen and gave me a new appreciation for homemade sodas. I am genuinely excited to try more recipes and continue customizing my own fizzy creations. Highly recommend for anyone looking to upgrade their beverage game in a fun, flavorful, and health conscious way

As someone who loves their SodaStream but is always a bit wary of the syrups they sell, this book was such a welcome find. The moment I saw Fizz, I knew I had to check it out, and I'm so glad I did.

This book is full of beautifully creative recipes that make you feel like a soda mixologist in your kitchen. Apricot-Cinnamon, Rhubarb-Basil, Mango-Chile… these aren't your average bubbly drinks. There's truly something for every taste, whether you're into sweet, tart, herbal, or spicy. And the best part? You know exactly what's going into your glass, no chemicals, no weird aftertaste, just fresh ingredients and amazing flavours.

One thing I appreciated is how easy the book is to navigate. Whether you're in the mood for something refreshing or cozy, with or without alcohol, it's simple to find exactly what you're looking for. The layout works, and the stunning photos make it all the more inspiring.

I also want to highlight the tips and tricks scattered throughout the book; they're super helpful without feeling overwhelming. I even learned something new: cherries are naturally high in melatonin! Guess who's going cherry-crazy next season?

This is a five-star kitchen companion for me, hands down. It's earned a permanent spot on my kitchen shelf, and I'm already planning to gift a copy to each of my daughters. It's such a feel-good, flavorful way to enjoy soda again without the junk.

Thank you to NetGalley and The Collective Book Studio for the e-ARC in exchange for an honest review. So grateful I got to experience this fizzy little gem!

This is a delightful book filled with all kinds of creative recipes for homemade sodas BUT my only complaint is that I was honestly really disappointed to find that it doesn’t have recipes for making traditional homemade sodas. I have made homemade sodas like elderflower soda for years the old fashioned way with wild yeast that naturally occurs on wild ingredients like elderflowers or a pinch of champagne yeast to naturally ferment them on the counter for a couple of days and then bottle and refrigerate them once they’re naturally bubbly but before they turn alcoholic (caveat— like kombucha, they have a tiny bit of natural alcohol, but so does real orange juice or an overripe banana).

I am going to see if I can convert some of these recipes to the old fashioned kind because I don’t want to buy a Soda Stream or bottles of seltzer, but it will be a bit tricky because these recipes are for making syrups to mix into carbonated water and not for making a jug of naturally fermented soda on your counter.

All that said, I know I’m ridiculously crunchy and old fashioned and that this is exactly the kind of recipes that the general population will love. Well recommended.

I read an advance copy of this book via netgalley.

Watched all the Mormon Wives episodes but sick of paying for overpriced soda syrups? Fizz has the answer with more than 70 different mostly non-alcoholic soda concoctions.

I’ve had a Sodastream for years. I’ve never used it so much. These recipes are delicious and cheaper than the pricey prepackaged syrups. The book also encourages the reader to think outside the recipes to create their own one-of-a-kind drink.

Fizz is a fun read that would make a great gift for anyone with a love of flavored sodas. 4 stars!

Thanks to NetGalley and The Collective Book Studio for providing me with an advanced review copy.

Fizz is such a fun and refreshing book! The recipes are super approachable and creative—perfect for making sodas that feel a little extra special at home. I loved the mix of classic flavors and unique twists, and the instructions are easy to follow even if you’re new to it. I especially appreciated the tips on customizing sweetness levels and using fresh, seasonal ingredients. Definitely a book I’ll keep reaching for when I want something homemade and fun to drink!

An excellent guide to fancy fizzy drinks that is beautiful enough to leave out on your bar cart or as kitchen decor. I like that this book is short and sweet. By looking at the gorgeous illustrations, you might think that the recipes are difficult, but they are incredibly simple and easy to follow. I especially liked the section on making sodas with herbs. I received this book as an advanced reader copy, however, I would have picked up and happily paid for this in a bookstore.

I received an ARC from NetGalley and I'm willingly leaving a review. Average 3.25 stars

2025-09-16 (4 stars) I'm not sure if it's because I got an ARC or if the book is made like that but I thought it was a little confusing because titles had 2 names (same with yields) and then the author proceeded to give you two recipes one after the other (eg. Cream Soda Syrup Ginger Syrup OR Yield: 2 servings Yield: About 2 cups Yield About 1 cup). Except for the straining, the recipes look easy to do. I'm going to try 4-5 and see how that goes. It's a shame my Kindle doesn't show colors because the book has many pictures.
2025-09-26 (dropping to 2.5 stars) I have tasted 4 (or 5?) recipes and they either tasted gross, too sour, or tart, and I was unable to make it better with different other ingredients I tried.
