I own quite a few of these Taylor Swift encyclopedia-style books now, and while this one has super cute and quirky illustrations and designs to keep it interesting, the actual content was lacklustre.
Pros:
- Cute illustrations throughout the chapters including illustrated versions of the album covers.
- Eye-catching and bright designs for each of the chapters with colour themes to compliment.
- Fun little segments that included Taylor's shoe-wear evolution and ever changing eras themed wardrobe.
- SHINY RAINBOW CHROME COVER YASPLS
Cons:
-Multiple errors. The most glaring being the album info for 1989 (don't be messing up '89 on my watch!) was a cut and paste of the info for Speak Now instead.
- Weird timeline jumps: Travis K being mentioned during the Midnights chapter in his own little segment was confusing.
- Numerous typos of Tortured being spelt Totured (noticeably in the illustrations).
- Bare-bones details about the music, besides explaining the behind the scenes stuff only one song was featured in detail per album. Other Taylor titles similar to this one break down the albums and talk about most, if not all, of her songs.

Lost that 1.5 stars due to the cons listed, way too many typos for something in this price range. At least she'll look pretty on the shelf.

Calling all hardcore Swifties and casual Taylor Swift fans alike!
This gorgeous book by Lindsey Smith is pretty much the (unofficial) bible for all things Taylor Swift. Which I enjoyed every fabulously illustrated page of!
And I loved that it also focuses on the many kind acts (some of which I wasn’t aware of) that Taylor has been involved in throughout her career, From Donating school supplies or music equipment, the many hospital visits and even free concerts (and this is just in 2008!)
Author (and fellow Swiftie) Lindsey Smith’s writing is also wonderful, and beautifully captures Taylor’s career journey from the very start. Detailing the lore and history behind each era (up to release of The Tortured Poet’s Department) in a way that only a true fan could achieve.
This was a treasure trove of statistics, facts and quotes (and Taylor Swift’s very own Chai Sugar Cookie recipe) that will have you an expert in all things Taylor in no time. If you weren’t already, that is!
I adored the images and photos of Taylor which incude some rare early images of her. And there a soo many beautiful illustrations as well. Era specific Taylor Portraits for each chapter, but also creative graphics that related to Taylor and her music in super fun ways. (Like illustrations of the flowers mentioned in Taylor’s songs and the hairstyles Taylor’s had over the years.)
The book’s physical appearance is absolutely stunning too! With a beautiful pink, almost iridescent cover and foil sprayed edges that give off the prettiest rainbow effect in the light. Honestly, it’s now the prettiest book on my bookshelf and one I plan to cherish forever.
Overall, this is a must have for all the Swifties in your life, or as a little treat for yourself as it’s such an incredible (and gorgeous) book!

the author has a blatant AI image towards the end of the book. not being more careful about this breaks trust, especially for a book that's so expensive in a hardcover format. do NOT just grab images from social media and call it a day, ok? to have an actual artist help with your book but STILL have ANY AI images in your final product is not cool.
overall the info is good, it was a fun & bright book until the end. now whos to say that the author didnt use chat gpt to write anything or the artist to help with their work, too? yall have to be more careful about this, please. zero excuses.

Want to say I won this book through a Goodreads drawing. Before this book I could name only two of her songs, I have learned about her many more. This book tells her take from growing up until 2025. I loved reading about how she seems so down to earth and a genuine person. The pictures throughout the book complement the story so very well. If I as not a Swiftie love this book then it is a must have for Swiftie’s.

I've read quite a few of these type books now so there wasn't much new information in this for me to discover. However I do love seeing Taylor's career and legacy play out as she continues to reach new heights and pile up the accomplishments. It was especially heart-warming to read the anecdotes of fan experiences and realise how much Taylor gives back.
The biggest problem were the glaring errors throughout the book. Typos are one thing (although still annoying), but clearly wrong information in a book like this is simply unacceptable. Incorrectly listing Fifteen as a track 5 song when the actual song is White Horse and the album info for 1989 being a cut and paste job from Speak Now. Those were just two of the many mistakes but were the most annoying and definitely enough to negatively impact the book. The fact that blatant errors weren't picked up during proofing and editing just isn't good enough for a book that doesn't come cheap.
