Never a quitter, Akihito comes up with a third option…to run away! Ayano Yamane (native name: やまねあやの) is one of Japan's most popular Boys' Love genre manga artist. She debuted as a professional manga artist in 1996 and since then has published several BL series and illustrated many light novels. She is one of the top selling BL manga artists in Japan. Her most successful work is the Finder series.
End of the amnesia arc with a smutty interlude before the pair begin a new journey together. Akhito and Asami are on a more even playing field now after the last arc. I don't normally like the amnesia tripe but it had a purpose and worked. Helped it didn't last long
Listen, is it smut? Yes. Is it totally toxic? Yes. Have I been eagerly reading it for years? Also yes. If you're at volume 14 of this manga you know what you're in for and I for one will keep reading it as long as Ayano Yamane and her team keep producing it.
Conclusion of the Innocent Eyes - amnesia arc and beginning of Love X Escape. Ayano Yamane is a top end Yaoi story teller and Finder is by far my favourite of her series - So why only 3*? I think largely it's down to the lack of plot in this one - The other volumes have all been so high octane and this one is almost entirely smut.
Asami gets Akihito back and he finally breaks completely free of his amnesia. Asami tells him that he had to agree to join his brother's criminal organization to get him back and Akihito urges them to run away. So the pair flee to Rome and then Spain with plenty of hot m/m action.
We get a bonus story in which Asami gets triplicated by a magic dragon and a PWP foursome ensues. Poor Akihito - he has his hands full with just one Asami... but three of them!?
Artwork is as ever lovely to look at - Having recently been to Rome I loved the Rome section - the locations are really well realised and recognisable. Our boys are hot together and you'll have no complaints over the love scenes. I like how this arc has made Akihito more of Asami's equal - Asami lets him decide their fate, respecting his decision.
However, this is still very much a self indulgent PWP, filler volume, while we wait for the next action packed adventure.
The amnesia arc finally ended. It feels like it went on forever, but it was only three volumes. Then again, this series publishes so seldom it must’ve taken a couple of years.
Akihito and Asami reconnect and make up for the time they’ve lost, thoroughly. The new arc is called love x escape. Akihito persuades Asami to flee where Maxim won’t find them, and they enjoy their calm life together. It won’t last, but that’s for later volumes. Bonus story gives Akihito triple the Asami. The side stories show us Maxim suffering the side effects of the drug, tended to by Alec. Fei Long gets a small holiday too.
I speedread this manga in like 2-3 days because it was just so good. It was my first yaoi manga in a while. I only read ten count several years ago and didn’t read any in a long time. This was honestly amazing. The story, characters, chemistry is really good(And Asami so hot ehehee) The storyline flowed really good and getting through each arc was satisfying. Currently, it’s very ‘wholesome’ compared to the other arc’s and I’m also rlly interested in the other side characters/couples yayayay, volume 15 here I come :>
Finally they're reunited and now we learned what the deal was between him and Maxim. Akihito and Asami finally got to say those three little words to each other. Sakazaki has his hands full with Sudo, but it looks like Sudo can possibly learn things. Now, Asami and Akihito are on the run. I look forward to the next volume.
kinda surreal to see that asami and akihito are spending time together and it's not filled with angst. they really deserved it. i've been keeping up with this manga series for years and i know it's coming to an end soon but wow, it has been such a ride.
