I am so struggling with how to write this review because the end of this volume reminded me why I have on-and-off beef with Leona. LOL!

That does NOT affect the story itself, though, because the artist is following the game and I think they are doing a wonderful job!! Honestly, one of my favorite parts when seeing the game come to life on page is when Jack and some first years fight! LOL! I don't know what that says about me, but two of my best boys are there, and then seeing Yuka want to join the foray, it was so fun to see!

To follow up more about the art, the artist did such an incredible job! (Sorry, I know I'm repeating myself, but I think it's worth saying twice! LOL!) There were so many pictures I took pages of because I loved how many scenes she brought to life! From Ruggie's earnestness (if that's the right word) of wanting Leona to be king, Azul's scheming even though he's just doing "a job," and oh my goodness, Jamil's expressions for how few they were, were on point! I LOVED it all! Also, Cater having some time to shine! I loved that too!

Honestly, I just loved the art so very much and think it is a beautifully portrayed version of the game! Whether this is one of your lesser favorite parts of the game (like me) or if it's one of your favorite parts, I think there is still great enjoyment to be had for all fans of TWST because of how fun, interesting, and engaging it is to really get visuals on a variety of expressions from these wonderful characters!

Admittedly, Savanaclaw is my least favorite arc of Twisted Wonderland. I just failed to connect to the characters in the same way as all the other dorms (aside from Ruggie; I love that little freak), and I feel like story-wise it is also the weakest (although maybe I'm just looking at other plots through rose-tinted glasses).
In terms of attempting to write a review just for the second volume, I feel I run into problems. This book is the middle of the story, and much of the analysis and discussion of the entire arc's quality comes from the ending for me (as I have played the games and know how it ends), but this series of the TWST Manga has faced serious delays and setbacks in its publishing in EN. While I'm not exactly sure *why* that is, as Savanaclaw finished its JPN release and Octavinelle has already begun EN translation, it does ultimately limit how much I can talk about in regards to this volume.
In a way, that's part of why Vol. 2 suffers. While we get some character interactions (and of course, finally getting to see the "evil plan" that everyone was investigating), all of the actually engaging story bits are left in translation limbo.
There are still things I like about this Volume, mostly the art and our Yuu of the arc, Yuuka, I don't have the same adoration for it as I do other parts of this series.

I'll write up a more comprehensive review in the future, but for the moment, I have to say that this second volume of the Savanaclaw manga is well worth the wait, and it leaves me very confident the third volume will be too! Granted, the Book of Savanaclaw still has the weakest writing out of all the books that make up the story of Twisted Wonderland (I've revisited it a few times now when playing the game,) and honestly, it deserved better. That said, this manga adaptation is still great and I'm glad we have it!

Oh boy, Savanaclaw. Yeah, Book 2 of Twist is generally considered to be the worst book, so I can't be too hard on the story as it's an adaptation. I appreciate the additional scenes, although I think the mangaka could've stressed the Falena and Malleus connection more.

What I can't forgive is the botching of the incantation for King's Roar in the official English Print. How? The games already did a fairly accurate translation. Localization team, what happened?

This is the second volume in the Book of Savanaclaw which is part of the Twisted Wonderland series. I really enjoyed the first one because it went into other parts of the story which I loved but this one was just not hitting for me. I felt it had a good plot but not followed through the way it should have been. The big leader/head runs away? What? Still not the worst volume but I wish it was more to the story instead!

The team discover the truth behind the Spelldrive players' accidents, but trying to bring the culprit to light doesn't go as well as expected.

The actual plan here from the Savanaclaws is kind of hardcore, even if it's mean as hell. I'm pretty sure I can see where we're going next though, so I'm guessing we've only got one more volume to go.

I know that Savanaclaw is one of the least liked books, but I really like their story! I think it’s because of Jack’s character and how he develops through it, and RUGGIE being proud of himself, I don’t know, I really like it!!

Pretty art, as usual. The main character in this arc is a bit of a non-entity, but I’m enjoying all the other characters.
