Keeper hasn’t been a EVIL (Evil Villains International League) long but he is already being put to use as one of their members has gone missing, Showboater. But their foe is a team of one good villain and a few time benders including Toby’s brother, that when put together are going to be super hard to bring down. They even have Sensei on their side because it looks like Showboater took something everyone wants.
This is a wonderful spy kid book but these spies have special talents, at least it seems everyone but Keeper. I love all the characters in the book, and how they finally come together to save Showboater and get things done, at least for a while. I think I love the cats in the antiques shop the best. But the action and suspense is so much it made for some late nights as I just couldn’t put it down. I think even reluctant readers will like this series as the action is non-stop.

Second book in the Keeper Chance series by Alex Evanovich.

I liked the first book quite a bit - it seemed like a very appealing action/suspense series for upper elementary and middle school students. (Note: the characters are high school age, but content is not inappropriate for younger readers.). This book continues with Keeper integrating more into his chosen role as a Villain for E.V.I.L, and we learn a little more of his mysterious talent and background.

This series definitely must be read in order, and as close together as possible. There are a lot of characters and a lot happening, and book #2 did not spend a lot of time reminding readers what happened in the first installment. It's hard, but this series, much like the Alex Rider series, should be stockpiled and binge-read for maximum enjoyment.
