She has always been his dream…

Chef Serafina Rochan believes her recurring nightmares of pursuit are a symptom of her anxiety about opening her second restaurant. But when the stalker appears in the waking world, she swallows her pride and calls the one man she trusts to go into her dreams, even if it means risking her heart.

When Marshal Harlen Fawkes receives Sera’s call, nothing else matters. Time has not eroded the power of his feelings for her. After years apart, they go Darkside together and cannot resist the longing and desire their connection evokes. The past and present collide, and Sera abandons all reservations to embrace Harlen again, if even for one night.

In order to protect her, Harlen aligns himself with disavowed friends, and in so doing is drawn deeper into the secrets and perils of the dreamwaters. As the tide of darkness rises, Harlen faces his demons…but not without Sera, who fights just as fiercely for the dream of a life together.

Dream dangerously.

I liked this world in the first book, but the deeper we crawl into Reve and the Darkside the more I'm loving it. Nightmares and twisted dreamscapes and all the crazy that goes along with that. SO MUCH FUN.

Harlen and Sera go deliciously well together. After seven years, he's learned when it's time to sit back and let someone come to him. Sera's has to trust that he'll protect her when she's at her most vulnerable. I kinda loved how protective she was of him when she saw the way his abilities affected him physically.

Jordan and Rook, Maisie and Steve and a few other familiar faces pop in to give us a thrill. Not always a good thrill, but a thrill all the same. And the setup for book 4... *blinks and gives everyone the crazy eyes* Oh, my. I am so SO ready for that one.

Solid worldbuilding (honestly, I ADORE this world and all the potential places it could take us to) and characters with plenty of chemistry are making this series extremely enjoyable.

In Book Three of her FABULOUS Reveler Series, Erin Kellison is seriously upping her game.

In Book One, Darkness Falls, Ms Ellison introduced us to a world that escapes into their dreams. Literally..It's the new amusement park and drug combined. You can share your dreams with all sorts of people and there are companies set up to sell you dream space.. it's fun and safe.. supposedly, But not only did we discover the Reve, we also discovered that there is danger in your dreams. Our Hero and Heroine (Malcolm Rook and Jordan Lane) must learn how to escape the nightmare but save the dream.

In Book Two, Lay Me Down, Ms. Kellison takes us farther into our dreams. Showing us that there truly are monsters out there. But there are those who know how to fight. Those that understand that appearances arent everything. And sometimes the real monsters are human... or are they? Our Hero and Heroine (Steve Coll and Maisie Lane) take us even farther into the dreamworld AND the evil that exists there.

But in Darksider, Evil is advancing and those on the side of good must make their stand. Of course first they must figure out which side is which.

Chef Serafina Rochan has sacraficed everything to become a Chef. She has worked hard and allowed most personal relationships to slip to the side. She is finally at the top of her field and is preparing to open her second restaraunt. Life should be good.. Except her dreams are dragging her into the Reve and becoming her nightmares. She is starting to loose it. Chased by a monster throughout her dreams she isn't sure what to do. That is until she sees her stalker in the waking world and goes through a plate glass window to try and capture him. Knowing she is truly at wit's end she calls the one person she knows will come. No matter what, Marshal Harlen Fawkes, the love of her life. And the man she watched walk away years ago.

Marshal Harlen Fawkes, is surprised (to say the least) at the phone call from Sera. Their lives became separate worlds long ago. Sera refused to live in the Reve, refused to have anything to do with it and Harlen chose to make it his life. A Marshal in the Reve, working for Chimera, Harlen is pretty far up the food chain. But when Sera calls and he discovers just what is happening to her, he drops everything. Only to discover that the only way to save her is to take her back into her nightmares.

While Harlen and Sera work to discover just what is going on with her dreams, the forces of good and evil are both calling to him. Harlen knows that while Sera must come first he must figure out who he can trust. Darksider is a twisted nightmare.. a book that captures the imagination and makes you wonder if it's safe to sleep.

Let me just say, I closed this book and just sat there saying "WOW". Anyone who dares to traverse the dreamworld and tell such a fantastic story deserves only accolades! Awesome Book...

Darksider reconnects former lovers who were early participants in the Reve. Serafina is now a famous chef who'd left the dreamscape of the Reve behind to pursue her life in the real world, but when a dream stalker appears in the flesh she calls Harlen for help - he's now sort of a dream cop and the only one she trusts to help.

I really like this series, the idea of the Reve- a place where participants can interact in a shared dreamscape - is intriguing to me, though there is never quite enough time spent there. The novella length stories are pretty short but they build on each other while each featuring a different starring pair, so that makes up a bit for not being able to do more in each book. I liked the pairing here and the fact that they have a history makes the romance -with a nice amount of steam- still work in the short space.

The ending of Darksider is such a tease and has me already hooked into the next story. Can't wait.

They just keep getting better and better. I am well and truly hooked by this series. I just wish each installment was longer, because I really want more.

I wasn't sure in the previous books how Harlan was going to jump but he came through for his friends and I love him and Sera! Each book the world as we've come to know it fades and blurs as the darkside becomes more and more defined. There are scary monsters hiding in the dark and we're all going along for the ride.

There is so much left I want to know, why was someone hunting Sera? What happened to Rook? I can't wait to dive back into Ms. Kellison's dreamworld and see where her imagination takes me next.

3. Erin Kellison, Darksider, Reveler Series Book 3
• Oh my goodness Ms. Kellison! Every book just gets better and better. Yes we’ve got another cliffhanger but I’m patient. This book had all the previous characters and left off directly from the last book with the main focus on a new couple. Marshal Harlen Fawkes gets a call from his past love Serafina Rochan. Sera is in distress and has no one else to turn to. Harlen Fawkes is also getting pulled into the conspiracy regarding the Reve (shared dreaming) and must protect Sera from a dream stalker. Couldn’t put it down and was not disappointed when it came to sizzling romance, edge of your set suspense and of course a bit of butt kicking from the courageous group of Revelers trying to save the Reve.

I liked this one. It's a little bit darker than the first two, but it was needed because..... nightmares do exist. The characters are just as engaging as the others, and we continue to learn more of dreaming.

The more I read of this series the more I am “emerged” into the world that the author has created - the story line continues from the previous stories- this tune the focus is on Harlan and his former flame - Sera.

Looking forward to return trip soon.

Darksider features Marshal Harlen Fawkes. The story opens with Harlen going before a review board. He, like almost everyone else in the series, works for Chimera – or the dream police as Maisie calls them. Harlen is a pretty basic, by the book – mostly – type cop. Tries to keep a low profile, doesn’t want to rock the boat, but he does sneak a date into Rêve on occasion. Nothing special about him, or so he wants everyone to think. So why is he in front of this review board?

It appears the couples from the first books – Rook and Jordan and Maisie and Steve are on the run. They have been locked out of Chimera. If Harlen hears from them or sees them, he is to report it immediately. What is up with that? They were fine, chasing monsters the other day when he saw them.

Serafina “Sera” Rochan is a top chef, owns one the top restaurants in the city and is working on owning a second one. She and Harlen went to college together and participated in some of the very first studies (experiments) of Rêve. Where Harlen was a natural, Sera had skill, but in the end decided she wanted nothing to do with it. So when Sera becomes haunted with a nightmare stalker she calls Harlen for help.

They have history. Heavy history. The kind of history that some of us would prefer not to revisit. Could explain why it took her nightmare showing up in the waking world before Sera called for help. I think she was smart enough, and knew herself well enough, to know what would happen if she and Harlen got together again. Can you spell HOT?

In the process of finding Sera’s stalker, Harlen wants “the best tracker I know,” and Rook is that tracker. So yes, all the other characters are here too. The first meeting they have all together really throws Harlen. All of a sudden he doesn’t know who or what to believe anymore. His world, much like Sera’s is thrown upside down. What is real? What is dream? It is at this point we learn some alarming things about Harlen. Things that Harlen doesn’t want to remember let alone do again. Things, that though he learned and used them while in the military, are actually illegal. All of this causes a crisis of sorts for Harlen. But there is Sera . . .

I like how the author keeps giving the characters choses and that the choses are not black and white. The shades of grey are rift in this series. What appears right may not be moral. What may appear moral may not be right. It is all mixed up between the waking and the dream world. It creates some interesting conflicts.

Things get rather tense. Some fascinating twists and turns to the overarching story line. OMG! Really? Just what is he planning? Be warned, this chapter of the series does end on a cliff hanger. How did that happen?

I need to go read the next book now.

I was provided a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I received this e-book from the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review, I was in no way compensated for this review.

Erin Kellison's Reveler series is fast becoming my favorite! Never had I thought I would get so wrapped up in a novella series when I usually prefer the full length novels! But the Reveler series is awesome! Darksider just continues with the awesomeness!

We move forward this time with Harlen Fawkes, who briefly popped up in the end of the last novella, he gets a call from his long ago flame, Sera who desperately needs his help. She's been having nightmares for a year now with someone shadowy person stalking her. And now she thinks she sees him in the waking world.

Harlen is quick to help, because, naturally, he still cares for her. And if Sera were to admit to herself, she still cares for him despite being the one who ended things seven years ago.

I like how these novellas continue to weave together with their plots! And we do get to see Jordan, Malcolm, Maisie and Steve again as Malcolm and Steve need Harlen's help in trying to figure things out with the Darkside. Things have not been going very well for them, as public enemy #1, (will not say who just in case you aren't up to date yet) is making another move.

These are relatively quick reads, being just over 100 pages, but I eat them up! The pacing is remarkably quick. And it benefits to read them in order because the world-building starts with novella 1 and you could be a little lost by picking up novella 2 or 3 first. But in some ways they do stand well on their own, but still, it's one of those series that's best enjoyed from the beginning!

Erin keeps racking up the romance points with these series and I am loving it! First we had two romances that took some time to build--albeit still a little fast, but then remember these are novellas, so there's not a whole lot of time--but here it's a bit different as Harlen and Sera had a past together and the old flames come roaring back after one night together!

And ooohh, I was sooo not expecting the ending Erin gave us! It's a cliffhanger!! It was decidedly evil, but the good news is that the next novella comes out in July, so I have about one month's wait!

This is one deliciously, dark romantic series that I highly recommend! It's got a bit of a fantasy twist with all the dream worlds and creatures that are there, but the setting is still contemporary. So make of that what you will, but it's still freaking awesome!

This is the third book in the Reveler series and finally we get to discover more about the delicious Marshal Harlan Fawkes. He has been a supporting character throughout this series and really stood out to this reader. An intriguing character full of bonhomie and charm and yet right from the first book he has clearly had a role to play. Finally getting to see him step up and feature as the hero was happily just as much fun as I had hoped. When Harlan was younger he had been intimately involved with Sera but as so often happens life got in the way and now they are both pursuing lives and careers of their own. Harlan works for Chimera as a Marshall protecting those who inhabit the dreamscape and has worries that not everything happening is safe for those using the new technology. Whilst trying to find out more he gets a call from the only woman who has truly touched him but the Sera he remembers is all grown up now and it looks like she needs his own unique brand of help.
Sera has been having strange dreams of a strange man stalking her. What started out as occasional is slowly becoming more frequent and then one day the worst possible thing happens . Sera is at work at her restaurant when she looks out the window and sees her creepy stalker watching. Is he real? Are her dreams invading her reality? She calls the one person she knows she can trust to help, Harlan but how will they track down the mystery man? Harlan will do all he can for Sera but not everyone involved with Chimera has Seras best interests at heart! There's danger and corruption and it's infiltrated their dreams!
I'm really enjoying this series and my only complaint is the length! These books are quite short but thankfully the author knows how to pack a lot of story into just a few short chapters. These books do follow on from each other so please read in order but each one seems to have a different couple take centre stage. This gives the reader both a romance and a pretty twisty plot to follow which only adds to all the fun. This book was entertaining and I confess that I've always had a soft spot for the lovely Marshal but it's the world building that truly elevates this series from good to awesome! A teeny weeny bit of a cliffhanger at the end so I can't wait to read what comes next and I thoroughly recommend this series!
Shorter than I wanted so a four and a half from me.

Once I started this series I couldn't put the first two books down, however, this book didn't have the same feeling as the others. Perhaps it was the fact that it introduced two completely different characters, well, one, because our hero here has actually made a few appearances in the other books but still, it just felt a bit disconnected, particularly at the beginning.
So, per the blurb we know Marshal Harlen Fawkes,Chimera agent receives a call from Chef Serafina Rochan because she thinks one of her nightmares has followed her to the waking world, that is, her nightmare escaped her dreams and is now haunting her while she is awake. They haven't seen each other in years and Sera is not so sure calling him was a good idea but knows that if anyone can help her it would be him.
Harlen accepts to help her but knows that in doing so he most likely would fall for her again but he's ok with that because he never stop having feelings for her. Except there is little variable that he wasn't counting on when he agreed to help her. Rook, Jordan, Maze, and Coll, that is, our couples from the first two books are on the run and need Harlen's help in order to clear their names, bring the bad guys to justice, and find out what exactly is going on in the Darkside/Reve world and Chimera as it too may be compromised.
Like I mentioned before, the feeling of this book is different to me but I think it had to do with the main characters. There wasn't that much depth to them per se and the chemistry between them didn't work much for me. Sera used to be part of shared-dreaming studies when she was in college and knew fully well her way around the dream world. I didn't understand why she called Harlan if she was that capable of handling Reve in the first place. The rest of the plot as usual was on point. There is even a face off between Jordan and Sera that let us see how strong both women are and how relentless they both can be. Coll is his usual cool-hand Steve and Rook is his usual charming self; Maze is, well, her bright and full of life Maze. And when she worries, she worries. I'm not much for cliffhangers but because I love these stories so much and because I didn't have to wait for the next book to come out, I'm not going to complain about this one either. 4.5 stars but close to 5.

I received an ARC of this book from the Publisher, via Netgalley, in exchange for an honest review.

This is the 3rd book in the Reveler series, reviews of the previous entries can be seen here:

Darkness Falls (Which I found in an anthology)
Lay Me Down

All the books are right around 100 pages, the first one you can still get for free on Amazon, but the other two are 2.99.

I am going to admit flat out here, I am getting a little frustrated with the novella thing. I flat out adored Darkness Falls, it got me hooked into this world, but I expected that to have been a teaser/taste of the world, and not to be the format for subsequent stories. I really want a meatier more involved story.

As far as reviewing, it's hard to do with these because you give so much away of the previous books and the surprise of finding out about the world. So, if you haven't read the previous stories and you don't want to be spoiled, stop right here and go back and read at least the first story, which is FREE. Now, on to the meat of it. Serafina Rochan is a chef dealing with the stress of opening a second restaurant and what she initially thinks are just nightmares. She's a type A aggressive personality who tries to deal with this on her own until she finds out her nightmares are a little more dangerous than she thought. She despises Reve and so she wants nothing to do with Chimera Agent Marshal Harlen Fawkes, her ex who was with her for her introduction to Reve. Marshall is having his own troubles with the Reve as his best friends, and heroes from the previous two stories, Malcom and Steve (along with Jordan and Maisie the heroines) are on the run from Chimera due to the events of the preceding book where they discover wide spread corruption in the organization. Since this is a second chance trope, it works slightly better in the novella format than I think Lay Me Down did. Darksider is just as action packed, mysterious and adventurous as Darkness Falls and it carried the story arc of the corruption in Chimera and the Reve well. However, there was definitely more of a cliff hanger ending on this one. I'm avidly waiting for the 4th book to come out 07/14/2014.

Darksider #3 in the Reveler series, keeps the action coming and exposes new threats in the REVE world.

The Reve is even more dangerous now with creatures lurking in the Darkwaters, waiting for unexpected Revelers. If they consume you or kill you in this dream state you’ll never wake up. End of story. Good Bye. You’re dead.

Good thing Harlen Fawkes is always on duty, working with Chimera to keep the Reve safe. Even with his military training in the dream world, nothing could have prepared him for the call from his old flame Sera. Sera thought she could handle the creepy stalker who has been invading her dreams for the last year. That is until she saw him, the stalker right outside the window of her restaurant while still awake. Breaking down and calling Harlen was no chore, but seeing him up close makes her want it all; him, her career the “whole kitten kaboodle”.

“This was what she’d feared when she’d called him – the connection that ran deep and true. He’d said he was attracted, and she’d felt the petulant whine of her own nerve endings when she’d denied herself touching him. Even now she was tight inside, wanting. After all this time, there was only Harlen.”

While sorting out Sera’s problem, Harlen stumbles upon a Reve that shouldn’t exist….Which leads him to believe Chimera has dirty operatives. Ferreting them out is no easy task, yet his abilities make him just the man for the job. With a better understanding of why Rook and other agents have gone off the grid can they stop this new threat? Or will there be no safe harbor in the Darkwaters?

(Squeaks with delight) Love this series. These books are a tiny bit shorter than the other book I have read by Erin Kellison. Don’t let the size fool you; they are jammed packed and ready to submerge you in the Reveler experience. Each book has one of a kind original characters, with names you can actually say but are creative not only on the tongue but the persona they embody. . I love what Erin Kellison brings to the paranormal table, I find myself sprouting a renewed love in this genre.

This book was given to me for review.

Things start to heat up and get dangerous in this third installment of The Revelers. Harlen Fawkes, Chimera Marshall, is called before a disciplinary pannel, he thinks it is for sneaking his last date into a Reve, until he sees it is a full pannel, then he thinks that is about the monsters Darkside (dreams) in the Scrape. It isn't, it about Coll snd Rook, two Chimera who have gone off the grid.

After his meeting Harlen gets a message from the woman he loved but broke up with 7 years ago. She's asking for his help, everything in his mind goes on the back burner.

Chef Serafina Rohan is getting ready to open a second restaurant, and has been having nightmares for a little over a year. She thinks it is stress related, until she sees him outside her restaurant one day and goes through a plate glass window after him, so tired she doesn't know if she is awake or dreaming for that instant. That is when she calls her old boyfriend Harlen Hawkes, now a Chimera Marshall. Something she didn't want anything to do with after one of their friends died in a Reve one night at UCSD. She knew she would have to guard her heart against falling for him again.

They meet up with Steven Coll and Malcom Rook Darkside, Rook tracks her stalker and Coll takes them to Maisie's Maze City to tell Harlen about Didier Lambert and things going on in Chimera. They don't believe him at first, but Sera doesn't quite disbelieve either. They promise to help after her stalker is found.
Excellent read, very fast past, with a heroine that knows her own strength in Reve and out of it. Harlen is a playboy that knows how to flirt with all the females but also how to stay faithful to his woman and to let her stand on her own two feet if needs be. I give this story 5 stars and can't wait for the next one! If you enjoy an usual story line with love, interesting character with interesting quirks you will enjoy this series.

So does being addicted to stories ABOUT the Reve count as being addicted to Reve? If so I'm happily addicted. Harlen I love you as much as Rook and Coll. Maybe more in fact.

+++

Oh man. Okay so we got a little bit of Harlen previously and that does nothing to prepare you. Here's a man that refuses to let his pride get in the way when it comes to the woman he loves. She's in trouble and he can fix it and that's what matters. In fact they can work out their problems later.

I loved them together and that because of Sera, Harlen realizes some rather powerful truths. Unlike Rook or Coll, Harlen was a straight shooter. He did his job because he wanted to protect idiots from those who would exploit them. There was no other vested interest. Sera showed him that what he saw as the truth and what WAS the truth were vastly different.

I can understand how others see this series as a "serial" novel. You can't read this without the others and you can't get the whole picture by picking and choosing your couple. The first pages are of Harlen being interrogated about what Rook and Coll are up to and their experience helps to drive how he saves Sera later.

Romance happens and is a strong undercurrent. Their past association helps with this actually as the two pick up where they left off (arguments and everything) pretty quickly. Yes Sera's safety is paramount, but for Harlen there's no other choice once he sees her again. He'll convince her come hell or high water. Not that Sera is against the idea, she's just against them breaking up again. There's never a sense of confusion for the reader, Kellison lays out their relationship issues quite clearly without derailing the plot.

So a wonderful third entry into the series and definitely keeps the reader wanting to know more.

Our Review, by LITERAL ADDICTION's Pack Alpha - Chelle:

--Actual rating 4.5 skulls

Darksider, REVELER #3, was another fantastic installment to this intriguing, mysterious, and captivating world that Erin Kellison has created.

I loved Harlen and Sera, and their shared past and previous relationship allowed for a deeper connection than couples who meet for the first time and are forced to kindle that insta-love that is prevalent (and yet necessary given the limited page space) in most PNR novellas.

Sera was the perfect push to Harlen's shove, and they made for an incredible couple on the page - past hardships, misunderstandings and all - and I loved the way that they both interacted with the established leading characters of the series. There was just enough tension to make it interesting, but with just the right amount of give to let you know that future installments could be explosive.

Add in the fact that we have another Chimera agent with another wicked Gift, that the series arc is expanding exponentially with regards to mystery, intrigue, danger, betrayal, and more, and Darksider was a truly enjoyable and engaging read from cover to cover.

Erin has really hit her stride with the REVELER series, and as is obvious by my instantaneous read and review of this book, it has become a slight obsession for me to find out what's going to happen next. I simply cannot wait for the next one to be in my hands, allowing for me to get lost in its enthralling wonder for a couple hours.

July 14 (the release date of book #4) cannot come soon enough for this Reve maniac. I need to know what happens next! :)

4.5 Stars Darksider

Marshall Harlen Fawkes works for Chimera, coming from the background of four years in the Army Réve he was the perfect candidate when they recruited him three years ago to police the Réve for them.

Sefanna Rochan or 'Sefa' as she is better known, followed her dream to become a chef and is now about to open her second restaurant. Sefa is feeling like she is losing control when a man that has remained faceless stalking her dreams for the past year is now appearing in her waking world.

Sefa knows what she needs to do and that is to contact the man she left and broke her own heart in process several years before. Harlen is surprised when he receives a call from Sefa but there is nothing that will keep him away even if it costs him his heart all over again. When Harlen finds out about the man stalking Sefa he is outraged and determined to keep her safe. Offering to enter the dreamscape with her to hopefully discover the identity of the stalker Harlen will find that he has more to be concerned about than he first realised. Corruption, deception and secrets all of the things that cost him his relationship with Sefa the first time are now put before him again but this time it is so much worse and his friend lives are at stake. Will Sefa be able to accept the truth before her and can Harlen walk away from who and what he is if she can't.

I found myself engrossed in the Darksider from the very beginning and fell in love with the strength and emotions of the characters and their stories. I very much look forward to the next instalment and would highly recommend this book/series to others.

Darksider is the third book in Erin Kellison's reveler series. This could possibly be read as a stand alone but would be much more enjoyable as part of the series since a lot of the world building is done in the first book and several of the characters are from previous books.

The Reveler world is a mysterious and interesting world and very different from your typical paranormal romance worlds. Erin takes you to a whole new place and it's very entertaining to read about. This book centers around Harlen who works as one of the Chimera who police the dreamworld and Sera a chief whom he had a previous relationship with when he was younger. Sera is being stalked in her dreams and she reaches out to Harlen for help. They reconnect as Harlen puts everything on the line to help Sera and she is drawn into a larger problem Harlen is facing with the corruption of the organization he works for.

The fact that Harlen and Sera had a previous relationship helped this book since it was not very long and so it was easier to believe the rekindling of a past love then two strangers falling for each other instantly. I really enjoyed Harlen and Sera as a couple and how they worked through past misunderstandings and also to see how Harlen had grown and changed for the better since his previous relationship with Sera. It was also enjoyable to see them interact with the previous couples from the previous books.

This book continues on from the previous books and doesn't have a conclusion for the overall arc of the series. It was another wonderful addition to the series and great for someone looking for something different to read.

This series must be read in order. The first book is Darkness Falls: Reveler Series 1. Thes second book is Lay Me Down: Reveler Series 2. This is the third book.

Harlen has just been interrogated because of his connection to Steve Coll and Rook. Chimera is not pleased with his fellow agents and he hopes to Hell tjey don't realize those same agents are his actual friends! Called on the carpet and threatened both professionally and with true harm he hopes he can figure out what is really going on and who to trust. Then he gets The Call he has been waiting forever for... Sera needs him so the rest can go deal with tjeir on problems. Sera is the only woman he has ever loved (and still does love) and now she has a stalker Darkside so game on! No one will ever get away with hurting Sera (or even just scaring her) if Harlen has anything to say about it! Will he be able to find the stalker? Does Sera still love him? >
Is Chimera completely corrupt?

This installment was way more or a romance than the last two. The way each genre bending story is unique to the couple featured is pure awesomeness. There were plenty of thrills and intrigue but the mystery was just a small part of the overall story. The chilling horror on years otherhand was very much more prominent than in the last two books. All in all each book blends nicelu into the next telling its own story while expertly weaving together the ongoing storyline that is the main conflict of the series. I am beyond hooked on this series and cannot wait to read the next book!

Darksider tells the story of Harlen and his former lover Sera. Their past ended when Sera chose her budding culinary career. Now a famous chef, Sera has it all. Well, except these dreams that have been plaguing her for over a year. While she once had control over her dreams, Sera’s dream stalker isn’t just in the Reve. When he suddenly shows himself to her, Sera realizes she’s in over her head. She has to call the only person she knows that can help her. Harlen.

Yet, Harlen has issues of his own. Rook and Col have gone off the grid with their girls and the Chimera want to know where they are. Harlen is the key to finding their location. When Sera tells him of her Reve issues, he knows the only people who can help him are the two men he’s been asked to track down. When Rook and Col tell Harlen that the Chimera aren’t what they seem, he knows he has to do something. The darkness inside the Reve spreads into Sera’s stalker issues, and trouble ensues. He has to save Sera, solver the Chimera mystery, and survive, but is that asking too much of just one man?

Darksider is yet again another triumph by Kellison. It amazes me every time I pick up one of her books that she can fit such a riveting story into less than 100 pages. As I’ve mentioned before the world building and just the general story idea of the Reveler Series still blows me away. It's just such a unique idea than any other book I’ve read. If you haven’t picked up the Reveler series books, I highly suggest you do so now!

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This book (again) picks up where we were left at the end of Book #2. I don't recommend starting from the middle, because you miss all the wonderful world building (and it really is wonderful)! Here we get to watch a romance develop from a slightly different angle. We still get our favorite characters checking in, but this primarily centers around Harlen and Sera.

Sera is a chef who is working on opening her second restaurant. She was involved in some preliminary shared dreaming exercises before the fad took off and has had no desire to go any further. Harlen was her boyfriend at the time and he ended up choosing a different path. Eventually their choices led to their break-up, which appears to have left them both missing a part of themselves. Sera is finally forced to reconnect with Harlen after she is pulled into some sort of waking dream. The two explode like fireworks in a really great story of growth and understanding.

Harlen's character was a little vague up until this point. I am happy to say that he didn't disappoint as a main character, and this book appears to be very critical to events down the road. This couple had an easier time getting together because of their history, but they still had a lot of romance thrown in. This "dream team" (ha) that we're putting together to fight the system is really great to watch. I especially like Maisie's overprotective nature towards Steve. I will keep powering through these books until I'm all caught up!

Sarafina Rochan is a chef that is about to open her second restaurant and she is sure that is the reason behind her recurring nightmares of pursuit. Soon she has to swallow her pride when a stalker appears in the waking world. She has to risk her heart to call the one man she trusts to go into her dreams.

Harlen Fawkes is a Marshal and when he receives Sera’s call nothing else matters to him. The power of his feelings for her have not eroded with time. When they go Darkside together their connection evokes their longing and desire for each other even after years apart. Sera abandons all her reservations to embrace Harlen even if it is only for one night as the past and present collide.

Harlen aligns himself with disavowed friends so he can protect Sera even though by doing so he is drawn deeper into the secrets and perils of the dreamwaters. Harlen faces his demons with Sera who is determined to fight just as fiercely for the dream of a life together as the tide of darkness rises.

This is proving to be an amazing series that is very different. It is filled with action and suspense and makes for series that is hard to put down. With each book the world building gets more complex and fuller and makes for story that comes alive with each word that is read. It will be interesting to see where the next book takes readers and just where this series is going to end up at. Readers that enjoy paranormal romances should check this one out.

Disclosure: I got this book as an ARC from Netgalley.

Erin Kellison knocks it out of the park again with her third installment of the Reveler series. In the first two we are introduced to a world where your lucid dreams Reve are more than just the entertainment they claim to be. Each of the stories follows the next leading you through the world and the interactions with the characters. The stories thus far can stand alone however are so much better once you have read them sequentially. Therefore, I do recommend you start at the first one and move your way through the series.

Darksider brings to the forefront the character of Harlen Fawkes, in the previous stories we only know him as a Chimera agent with a swoon worthy wink. However, Darksider is all about him and his former flame Chef Serafina Rochan. Sera calls up Harlen seemingly out of the blue for help when her stalker transitions from the dream world to the real world. She needs his help, but she isn't the only one Rook & Coll from the previous installments are in need of some help as well. They believe Chimera is compromised and trust Harlen enough to ask for his help. This story brings together both romance, fantasy and a bit of suspense.

I love this installment and am eagerly awaiting the next! I would recommend this to 16+ due to some adult content.

5 out of 5 stars no doubt!

I received my copy from Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.

This is the third in Kellison's Reveler series and certainly holds up in terms of what I love about the series. I'm fan-girly about her writing style. Her characters' unique and often humorous and snarky inner thoughts still have me snickering and sometimes slapping my hand over my mouth to hold in an outburst of laughter. Also, she gives us plenty of sensuous food references (Sera is a Chef with a capital C) which fit in seamlessly with the rest of the plot.

We get to know Sera, who has been plagued by a dream stalker and Harlan who is basically the dream police. They were a thing once years ago and now that they're together it doesn't take long for them to reconnect. Also, Jordan, Rook, Maisie and Coll remain active in the ongoing plot which continues to build and grow.

The world Kellison built continues to impress me but in spite of that I still feel a sense of brevity in these novellas. Personally, I feel each of these would hold up in a longer format. With Darksider in particular I'm not sure where the climax of the story was. Certainly the main storyline builds but I didn't feel the initial premise which brought Sera and Harlan together was completely resolved. I suspect their plot line will continue forward and I'm happy to continue on with it.

Darksider is book 3 of the Reveler series by Erin Kellison. It tells the story of Chef Serafina Rochan and Marshal Harlen Fawkes.

Sera is having nightmares about a stalker. Which she puts off as being work stress until she see her dream stalker outside of her dreams. Scared she contacts an old love Marshal Harlen Fawkes. Harlen still in love with her drops everything and rushes to help her.

The characters had good chemistry together. Though I would have liked a little more back story on them. I think it would have brought the story together more. They felt a little bit like they were less important to the story it's self. I did enjoy the over all story and look forward to the cliffhanger being resolved. I liked all the mystery, passion, intrigue, danger and even a little betrayal that happens thru out the story. The writing is great. It captures your attention from page one and takes you on a wicked ride. Great story.

This book is a must read for sure.

I highly recommend this book and series!!!

This third instalment in the Reveler series took me back to the world of dreams, meeting the previous characters: Malcolm Rook and his Jordan; Steve (YAY!) and Maisie and, now as a main character, Marshal Harlen.

On one side, Sera, Harlen's ex-girlfriend is being stalked by a mysterious man in her dreams. It could be only a nightmare, that is finished when she wakes, but when this stalker appears in the real world, she can only think of Harlen to help her. The love that once bound them didn't disappear and this is their second chance at HEA.

On the other side, Harlen is pressured by the Chimera to reveal Malcom and Steve's location, but this men are bound by more than a work relationship and so Harlen decides to understand what's happening with his friends and not give them to Chimera.

The truth will reveal treason in their midst at the highest level...

Harlen and Sera's love story was very beautiful and it was so good seeing them starting all over. I also loved seeing the precious moments when the characters from the previous books were together with Harlen and Sera.

This book started a plot that will be developed in the next book(s) and I'm very curious about it. Especially considering the end that has me on edge and worried sick...

I was sent a copy of the book for review though Net Galley, as always, all opinions are my own.

Book 3 of the Reveler series follows Harlan Fawkes, who we see periodically in the previous books, and Serafina Rochan. Sera is being stalked both in the waking and dream world so she turns to her former lover for help. The pair are drawn back together as they struggle to catch the stalker as well as help Rook, Jordan, Maisie, and Coll with the enemies terrorizing the dreamscape.

I’ve really enjoyed reading this series so far, as I’ve said in my previous reviews, I love the concept. My only complaint, and it’s one that I’ve had with all the books in the series, is that they are so short they tend to feel rushed. This book was less so because the characters had a relationship in the past, but I wish I knew more details about it. In depth details are hard to get with a novella since they're so short. I continually find myself wishing these books were full length.

I wasn’t able to get book 2 as an ARC and I would have been a little lost had I not gone out and purchased it. I highly recommend these books be read in order. The 4th book of this series is due out tomorrow (July 14th) so keep your eyes out for it!

When his ex-girlfriend, Serafina, calls for help, Marshall Harlan Fawkes doesn't hesitate. Sera, reluctant to call Harlan for help, sees the man in real time who has been haunting her dreams for the past year and knows it's time to call in Chimera operative, Harlan. Now she knows her stalker is real and not just a figment of her dreams, Sera knows she needs the kind of help that he can provide. While danger stalks Serafina, Harlan is under suspicion by Chimera because of his association with Steve and Rook, who have disappeared and are now wanted by Chimera. Steve and Rook are on the run with Maisie and Jordan, and need Harlan's help, which will put his job and perhaps his life in jeopardy. Harlan insists on putting Serafina first, but finds things are not as clear-cut as they seem. I loved the story of Harlan and Serafina, the worldbuilding is totally awesome and has immense potential for exciting things to come. The twists and turns in the plot were thrilling to follow, and the danger darkside is getting more intense. Although a shorter story, it was definitely full of excitement. I can't wait to see where this series is going next, and hope to see more of Harlan and Sera. (Copy gifted in exchange for an honest review.)
