PERSONAL RESPONSE:
I enjoyed the book, Endless Love, written by Emma Keene. The author did a great job explaining how the main character, Amy, felt. It was easy for me to put myself into some of the situations that she encountered. Amy seemed to never come out ahead; everything bad always happened to her. Throughout the book, I felt as if the things that happened to her could easily happen to me any day. I enjoyed how much Spencer cared for Amy, especially after what happened between Amy and Logan. Spencer was like a one in a million type of guy, he seemed to actually care about the way she felt not just the ways to make him happy. They tried harder to make their girlfriends happy rather than making themselves happy, which I thought was a very cute thing for a guy to do. Also, Dex was such a great guy in Amy’s eyes. I wished it wouldn’t have taken her so long to figure that out. He and Dex both did not care about the fact the kids in their home were not theirs. I realized they were not all bad. Speaking from experience, I understand why Amy was skeptical about the relationship that she had with Dex.

PLOT:
Amy went through some life changing experiences. It came to her attention that her mother wanted nothing to do with her. Her mother went psycho and ended up hitting Amy. Surprisingly, Dex stuck up for Amy and kicked Amy’s mother out. With that, Dex became Amy’s only parent. She ended up staying and being the lead female in Dex's movie. Her time in L.A. while the movie was being filmed gave her and Spencer a lot of time to get to know each other. They had a break from filming, and Spencer decided to take Amy to Colorado to meet his mom. When they returned to L.A. to keep filming, Spencer and Amy had grown to have feelings for each other. They were forced to have their first kiss on the set. Spencer made for certain that the first kiss would be one that Amy would never be able to forget. Once the movie was over, she would go back to Salem and start school a semester late. After she spent all of that time with Dex and Spencer, Amy realized who meant the most to her. Once she went back to Salem, she realized her new and forever home was going to be in L.A. at Dex’s. She didn’t go to school; instead, she went back to L.A. and told Spencer everything.

CHARACTERIZATION:
The story was told from Amy, the main character’s, point of view. Amy was a young adult who had struggled in many different situations. She lost her father and then found out her mother wanted nothing to do with her. Then her boyfriend broke her heart. She could never catch a break until Spencer and Dex came along. Spencer was the hot actor who all of the girls wanted for their husband; however, Spencer only liked Amy, but she was to oblivious to see that. The reason Amy and Spencer knew each other was because of Dex’s movie. Dex took Amy in when her mother disowned her. Dex and Amy have grown close enough to actually have a father daughter relationship. Amy called Dex for everything, boy trouble, school, and even mom trouble. Amy’s mother was just a psycho who thought she could create a new life and forget her own child. Thank God for Dex; otherwise, Amy would still be dealing with it.

IMPACT of SETTING:
This story took place in Los Angeles, California. Parts of the storyline took place in Salem, but it always came back to Los Angeles. The story was told in present tense and took place around the years 2013-2014. If the storyline didn’t take place within this time period and location, I think their relationship would have also been a lot different. People were treated differently in different time periods. Relationships were taken more seriously and cheating wasn’t as prominent as it is now.

THEMATIC CONNECTION:
The main theme in Endless Love was even when everything’s going wrong, keep moving forward because good will come. In the book, Amy realized where she wanted to spend the rest of her life. Even though everything bad had happened to her, she could still see the good in L.A. She knew that more good things were in store for her.

RECOMMENDATION:
I would recommend this book to any girls who are between the ages thirteen and about nineteen years old. The reason why this book would be a great fit for girls between those ages was, because the way author made it very easy to connect to the main characters. It was very easy to put myself into Amy’s shoes and experience what she was going through. Also, this book would be great for any reader who enjoys love stories and also someone who enjoys some drama.

I LOVED IT!!
What a great ending to a beautiful story. I was really surprised with how it ended. I wasn't quite sure who Amy would end up with. I thought maybe Mitch would come sniffing around again. Then I wondered if Logan would seek her out once she got to Salem. But the one she did end up with was somewhat unexpected. Dex turned out to be a caring, giving, kind, loving man. I really fell in love with him and I was hoping that he and Amy would remain close. I really wish this book has been longer. I wanted to know their movie was received by the public and everyone fell in love with Amy, Spencer and the movie. Lol! At times the dialogue was alittle high schoolish but the chemistry between Amy and Spencer were definitely felt. I was really just glad that poor Amy FINALLY had something to go right in her life. Lol! I highly recommend this book to everyone.

I noticed.. that Amy has had a lot of struggle and her life continues on and things get easier and easier for her.
I wonder.. if her and Spencer will last the rest of the series or if they take a break because she maybe meets Logan again. If Logan did come back into the picture would it be awkward?
I was reminded of.. the television show One Tree Hill, because there is a lot of drama and relationship changes in the show and in the book.
I think.. this was the best book out of all of them so far. I read it in one day because it was so good. It drew me in with every page.
I'm surprised.. Logan broke up with Amy just because of a stupid trailer of the movie she was casted in. It makes me wonder why he wouldn't trust her.
I realized.. Spencer is a way better boyfriend for Amy than Logan or Mitch. Spencer spoils Amy and takes her on vacations and is nicer to her then her own mom is.
Although it seems.. like these books are kind of trashy, they aren't and they are so amazing. I love these books just as much as I love the Harry Potter books.
Authors Purpose: To entertain and show how real life situations can affect a person. Emma Keene has a way of showing the emotional and physical burdens life can be on people.
Intended audience: People who are in high school or college because it is full of scenes that would not make sense to younger children. There are some concepts in there that make it a little more mature. This book is perfect for people, in the age range, who love to read about love.

I really enjoy this book, I strongly recommend reading the other books in this series before this one otherwise it will be hard to follow along. Amy is just a small town girl that is forced to move to a big city because of family issues. She is in LA and is living with her mom and her boyfriend and she hates both of them. But what happens when her mom leaves. She has no one left her dad is dead and all she has is her mom's boyfriend. But quickly her feelings start to change when he puts her in his movie. All of a sudden he turns into like a dad figure for her. Once its time to leave she thought she was gonna be excited about going back once she gets there she feels like she left her home and most importantly the boy who stole her heart.... Spencer. How does she fall in love with him and why does she want to go back? Read to find out!

This one was by far the best in the series... Although there were 2 things that I would have liked. 1) Amy's mom - there wasn't really a conlcusion to that, it was just kinda left hanging. I really think that a scene where Amy could have gotten closure with her mom would have brought the series full circle. 2) Epilogue - I don't get why so many author's dodn't realize the importance of an Epilogue. How it can really bring magic to their books. I would have liked to see a little more interaction after they made it official and also, if the film was succesful and what Amy ended up doing in the future. :oD Wishfull thinking...

Happy readings!

I decided to take a chance on this book because the first book was free and it had some pretty good reviews. Now finished, I can say that I really enjoyed it and it had a lot of things I could relate to. For example, the main character, Amy, was just a teenage girl. Although she went through things that I have never had to do, she still loved all the same things I do. This is includes, shopping, hanging out with friends and family, and working your hardest to provide for yourself and loved ones. She also lives in Los Angeles, making it even easier to relate too. I would definitely recommend this to kids in middle and high school because I feel that they can relate to it as well as I did.

Amy's story is kinda cheesy and at times I wonder how she can be so clueless about life, love and basically everything. However, this series has it's good side. Among the good are some life lessons that can remind people of a few things that we sometimes forget. It has reminded me that love is out there, that life is short, that no matter how much you plan things might not go as you want and that following your dreams and your heart is important! I loved Dex's letter at the end, it is truly heartwarming and inspiring!!!

I guess when you just have this feeling. You need more reason to go with your gut. Spencer was there the whole time for her. She was there the whole time for him. They both stood up for each other and held each other when they cried. The only thing that could ever et in the way is her mom ;)
