Beyond the Blue Horizon (Moonlit Ridge, #4) by A.L. Jackson

5/5 stars

Beyond the Blue Horizon is by far my favorite book in the Moonlit Ridge series. Theo and Piper stole my heart and soul and I love their love story.

The book starts with Piper, her son Finn and her grandmother Nelly being on the road and getting in a car crash. Theo is passing by with his truck and he instantly stops and gets them out of the vehicle.

Theo, being part of Sovereign Sanctum, instantly feels that there is more going on than simply a family driving around. His curiosity and protective side are immediately activated and he has this inner need to take care of Piper and her family.

Chemistry instantly burns between them and Piper even flirts for a second but immediately regrets it. She needs to focus on staying safe and moving around. But due to her wrecked car she is forced to stay in town for a while. Theo sets them up in one of the Sanctum bungalows and suddenly Piper is settling down a little bit. Her son Finn loves being in the same place longer than a few days. And her grandmother Nelly encourages her to loosen up and give in to that simmering attraction between her and Theo.

Theo and Piper have one the best push and pulls I read this year. And I love how they flirt, try to keep their distance, while also falling for each other.

Nelly was by far my favorite character in this book. She is a witty grandmother who is incredibly sharp and instantly knows what is going on around her. I love how feisty Nelly is and how unapologetic she drops the truth everywhere. She had me grinning so many times.

Both Theo and Piper both carry pain around from their past. Piper isn't ready to utter why she has been on the road for years. And slowly through chapters of the past we get to know both their pasts, both their regrets and we realize how immense the pain is they both carry. And that pain. It isn't done with either of them. It rushes straight into town and it is unavoidable.

I love the perfect balance between a love story, intimate scenes and plot driven past that comes after them. It really had a great balance and this book was a pure joy to read.

I also appreciated how Cash' story is set up for the last and final book in this series. I absolutely cannot wait to read his story and see him fall for his girl.

And my favorite quote? That was this one:

"Maybe we're supposed to mend each other. Maybe all our broken pieces fit."

5 huge stars for Beyond the Blue Horizon!

Just when I thought AL Jackson couldn’t deliver me a book that would top the last, she drops the perfection that is Beyond the Blue Horizon. The story gripped at my soul from the start and I couldn’t put this one down.

I fell so head over heels in love with Theo. This man is tortured in the best possible way. He lives with this past that he can't seem to overcome. Piper, she’s on the run from her past and the only man who can save her is the man who is connected to the very reason she is on the run. Like the degrees of separation between these two is jaw dropping! It's the plot twist I NEVER saw coming to the point that I had to pick my jaw up from the floor.

I truly loved Theo and Piper's relationship. The moment Theo laid eyes on Piper, he was done for. This man literally kissed the ground she walked on and was willing to give her the life she deserved. The way he just wanted to give her a safe space made me melt. I also need to give an honorable mention to the cutest fictional two year ever! Finn was the cutest stinkin thing since sliced bread! And Piper’s grandma Nelly was hilarious! She meddled and gave me that comic relief that I so desperately needed! I love a book with meddling family members. It’s the best!

Ugh this book was so damn good! The plot was hands down one of my favorites. The plot twist that had my jaw on the floor. And the way these two loved each other so deeply that they healed each other in a way they never saw coming.

And listen, never settle for a man that just says I love you when Theo Mallin says: “You are every horizon. Every destination. You are the air I breathe and the ground beneath my feet. And because of you, this dead heart beats.” Ugh talk about swoon city. And this man thought he couldn’t love. He made my millennial knees so fucking weak I can no longer stand. Your honor, I think he’s my new favorite AL Jackson man. I’m a puddle. Gagged. Put a fork in me bc I’m toast!

Now if this review doesn't;t convince you to read this book then I don't know what will. So just do yourself a favor and add this whole series to your TBR if you have already and you can thank me later!

We return to Moonlight Ridge for this 4th entry with Beyond the Blue Horizon. This time focusing on Theo, the owner of the Sanctuary Motel. A safe place for vulnerable women and kids, who the Sovereign Sanctum members team up to rescue. It's a halfway house to safety, if you will. He is one of the few remaining members who still upholds the oath to never involve a woman long term.

But just as his brothers have all fallen into love... things are about to change for Theo too.

In the form of a small family on the run. He meets Piper, along with her small son Finn, and her grandmother Nelly, during a snowstorm when they have just run off the road. He can't help but step in and try to calm their fears, and wrap them in the protection of himself and The Sanctuary.

I love the found family aspect of this series, and that is on full display here. Theo doesn't even have a chance to feel trepidations, before his crew and their ladies are welcoming Piper in. Piper may have other ideas and fears, but how long can she hold out?

This was a truly great entry, though I do think that this is the first entry that I actually struggled with the audio book, more than the story itself.... let me explain.

This romance was narrated by Kit Swann & Teddy Hamilton narrated this one in the dual style. I love both these narrators so much, however, I have to say that for a good part of this one, Kit Swann does this style of having Piper at an anxious voice level that I know is supposed to convey the stress of the story. But it ended up making me so uncomfortable. I'm torn because I realize the skill that takes. But in practicality, it had me wanting to switch to my kindle version for her chapters and then back to the audio for Teddy's chapters. I just had to share my honest opinion here. I am reviewing an audio here, after all. On the other hand, the way Kit performed sweet little Finn... I don't know if I've heard a more realistic voice for a small child. It was truly excellent. So yeah... those are my narration thoughts!

Overall, it still had all the things I enjoy, I just have to factor in my reading experience as well. I am looking forward to the final entry to the series!

A.L. Jackson has done it again! Beyond the Blue Horizon is the fourth installment in the Moonlit Ridge series, and let me tell you, this series just keeps getting better with each book. From the first page to the last, I was completely hooked. Amy’s ability to weave a story that balances sweetness, spice, suspense, and deep emotions is incomparable, and this book is no exception.

Hope was such a risky thing.
That fluttering in my spirit that ached for this.
To belong.
To be held.
To maybe… maybe be loved.

One of the things I adored most was the instant, undeniable connection between Theo and Piper. Their chemistry is palpable from the start. But it’s not just the romance that grips you—there’s something raw about their bond, and the way they grow together is beautifully written. I am still a massive fan of the poetic way Amy writes. Also, Theo’s protective instincts toward Piper (and her adorable son, Finn!) melted my heart. He’s such a strong, yet tender man, and watching him navigate his love for Piper while becoming a father figure to Finn was simply beautiful. And another standout for me was the dynamic between Piper and Nelly. Nelly is a true rock for Piper, and it was so refreshing to see the support and love they share. The emotional journey they go on—dealing with trauma, trust, and healing—it’s impossible not to get invested in their story.

This woman who had barged her way into the places I thought I couldn’t allow her to go.
And now, it felt like she was purposed to be there. Like those vacant holes inside me had been carved in the shape of her.

Amy has a knack for blending sweet moments with intensity. The mix of lightheartedness, steamy tension, suspense, and the emotional scenes kept me addicted to the story. I always look forward to the chemistry between the main couple, and this book definitely didn’t disappoint. The steamy scenes were just as sizzling as I expected, but they also carried so much emotional weight. And the ending? Well, it was nothing short of spectacular!

“You have me on my knees, Piper.”
“You have me everywhere. You’re the current that rushes through my veins.”

So, just like the previous book in the series, I am rating this installment with 5 STARS. Amy’s ability to bring everything full circle with an ending that is both fulfilling and emotional makes me a forever fan of this series. Beyond the Blue Horizon left me with a heart full of love and a smile on my face, and I can’t wait to see where the series goes next. The series is coming to an end, and I am definitely not ready to say goodbye to this amazing crew. Again, another must-read!

If you handed me this book and didn’t tell me the authors name, I would still be able to guess who wrote this.

AL Jackson has a distinct way of writing that is like poetry.

The way I am in a chokehold for this series!

The romantic suspense is done so well.
I am continually trying to guess the twists and getting them wrong at every turn.

Theo & Piper 💕

Ex mc member
Hotel sanctuary owner
Fierce & protective
Single mom
Tragic histories
Very big found family vibes
Small town

Finn was absolutely adorable.
Grandma Nelly was the definition of a meddler

This is my favorite of the series so far.

"You can't run from your demons forever, sweet girl, and this just might be the place to crush them."

If there’s one thing I know for sure when I start any A.L. Jackson book, it’s that I will fall in love with the couple, the writing, and the plot. Every single time.

Beyond the Blue Horizon, just like the first three books in the series, is a beautiful and emotional journey about love but especially about family. The way this author captures the found family trope is mesmerizing. By the end, it always feels like we too have found a family, in this town, in these characters, in this couple.

In this book we follow Theo and Piper, and they are pure fire. Their chemistry is intense and so palpable it almost leaps off the page. The banter, the tension, the desire… it’s electric.

I love how Amy always gives us little glimpses into the characters’ backgrounds, revealing the roots of their beliefs, fears, and insecurities. In this story those insights are crucial to understanding both Piper and Theo, and they made the reading experience even deeper.

Piper shines as a fmc. I admired her intensity and how hard she works to give her son and grandmother the best life she can. Her fears were explored with so much care, and it was beautiful to watch her begin to accept that she deserves happiness, love, and everything Moonlight Ridge has to offer.

Theo, on the other hand, knows exactly what he’s doing. Like Piper, his past explains the walls he’s built around love and the way he doubts his own capacity to care. Yet once he lets himself love, he is unstoppable. Fierce, protective, stubborn. Theo is all of that, but he’s also loyal, caring, and relentless in fighting for what he believes in.

This story touched me deeply. Finn was one of the brightest stars of the book, and seeing him, alongside his mother and grandmother, open his heart to Theo made mine grow even bigger.

I can't recommend this series enough. Every book feels like perfection, and while I’m excited for the finale, I already know it will be so hard to say goodbye to Moonlight Ridge.

As Finn would say, by the end of this book, "I got a happy heart".

"In sorrow we must stand."

Theo, Piper, and Finn + Nelly have destroyed my heart and put it back together. Piper and Theo pulled at my heart strings with this book!!! This is book 4 in the Moonlit Ridge series and it did not disappoint. Piper a single mom who has been on the run with her grandma Nelly for years.. stumbles upon Theo after an accident. Weary of Theo at first because her past she slowly warms up to the town, Theo, and the girls. Theo a tall, tatted, biker man looks like trouble but deep down is a savior.

Theo and Piper are both hiding secrets but the way they got their redemption & helped each other heal was everything I needed and MORE.

The only thing I did not like was reading things finn would say.. I get toddlers speak like that but UGH I felt like a child reading it 🙃

“One look at you, and my cold, dead heart began to beat. In a way it’d never done. You lifted the fallen. Gave me air when I had no breath. Sparked a brand-new life that I wasn’t supposed to be given.”

I really like the way that Amy writes. Her descriptors and prose just capture you. I feel like she does such a great job with that instant connection but the MCs have major hesitations. All of her characters have trauma in their past, but what I appreciate about that is her characters help each other through it. They relate and work through their insecurities together. She writes such PASSION and her chemistry is WONDERFUL! That was obviously the case in this one. We have Theo who is this dark angel protector responsible for sheltering the women and children Sovereign Sanctum is helping. And then we have Piper who has walls so high she doesn't even know when they stop. I LOVED the tension between these two! The chemistry was legit electric, but both of them were nervous to take any steps towards trying something real. But we all know it is inevitable. Learning about their past was heartbreaking. Watching them help each other heal was amazing. Watching Piper let her walls down and enjoy this new found family. Watching her find hope in the possibilities was beautiful. And when these two finally gave in, it was HOT! I also absolutely cannot resist when a man becomes completely attached to his woman's child- Theo and Finn were adorable.

Piper cannot believe this is happening to her. She is just trying to keep her head above water while protecting everyone in her life that literally means the world to her. And now she is stuck in this small town for however long it takes for her car to be fixed. Surrounded by this man who she can't stop thinking about. A man who is making her feel things she shouldn't feel and want things she shouldn't want. Theo is everything she knows is dangerous but there is something about him that feels safe. Maybe it is how he keeps taking care of them. Maybe it is how he pushes her buttons and gets a reaction out of her while telling her he will always keep her safe. Whatever it is she can't give in. She knows what happens if she does, her past comes back to haunt her like it has before. But the more time she spends around Theo and his family the more she can see a future. The more she wants to try for it and let Theo know what happened to her and what she is running from. But before she can fully let him in her past comes to get her and she realizes that she will do anything to keep Theo safe from it, even if it means sacrificing herself. What she doesn't expect is Theo to come and save her. All the more reason for her to put down roots and recognize that they are meant to be.

Theo knows what his role is. He is the protector of the women and children in need. The man who will sacrifice himself to make sure they stay safe. But he can never get invested. He can never cross that line. But then he meets her - Piper. And her little boy Finn. And he starts questioning everything. There is something about her that captures his attention unlike anyone has before. But he can't go for her. She has her walls so high. He doesn't know if she would even let him. But he can't ignore this connection between them. He realizes he has to earn her trust. And he wants it so so bad. All the while he takes care of her as much as she will let him. He likes having her close by. He realizes he wants this to be more than temporary. But his past always holds him back. He made so many mistakes. Mistakes that haunt him, and he doesn't think he is deserving. But finally he can't hold back anymore. He is going to claim Piper as his because that is what she is. She is his and he is hers. But before they can go any further, her past comes to town and takes her from him. Somehow his past and hers are intertwined in a way he never saw coming. But he knows he will do anything to save her. Anything to show her that her mistakes don't define her. Anything to make her his forever. He just hopes he is there in time.

I LOVE these morally grey men and how HARD and FAST they fall for these women. These women who are so strong and regal. Who have been through so much and are making it day by day. The way that Amy weaves their stories is wonderful and captivating and just makes me want more. I loved the past FMCs welcoming Piper with open arms. And I loved her realizing that she is not leaving. That she has finally found her place. And I have to say I am so excited for Cash's book! He is the most elusive of all of these men, and I just know his story is going be everything we all want it to be :)

🌶️🌶️🌶️

Beyond the Blue Horizon is the 4th book in the Moonlit Ridge series. I have loved this newest series from A.L. Jackson and I was very excited for Theo's romance.

Theo is the member of the Sovereign Sanctum in charge of giving the victims of domestic abuse a safe place to stay at his motel called The Sanctuary. He comes across Piper when she runs her car off the road and offers up a place to stay since she is in a tough spot. He wants to help Piper, her grandmother, and adorable son Finn.

He is immediately drawn to her, but doesn't feel like he can love anyone from the guilt he carries from his past. He can't stay away from her and steps up in every way to give her safety. Piper is very closed off and doesn't trust anyone after her past and has been constantly on the run. Could Moonlit Ridge finally be a safe place for her to land?

AUDIOBOOK REVIEW
🎤Dual narration by Teddy Hamilton & Kit Swann

This was narrated by Teddy Hamilton and Kit Swann. I honestly usually prefer A.L. Jackson's audiobooks over reading physically, but I kind of struggled with this one. All of my issues were with Kit Swann's narration for Piper. She was constantly portraying her character in an anxious and distressed voice. She sounded like she was always about to have a breakdown or fall apart emotionally in every scene. It did not work for me because I didn't want her to sound like that at all times. She did a great job voicing Theo and the child, though. Teddy was perfection as always.

Beyond the Blue Horizon by A.L. Jackson swept me away in the best kind of angsty, emotional storm. This book had everything I crave from her stories—yearning, danger, and that heart pounding push & pull romance. Piper, a resilient single mom doing everything to protect her sweet boy Finn, completely stole my heart, while Theo, the morally grey hero who falls first (and hard), made me melt with his fierce protectiveness. The suspense thread added the perfect dose of danger and tension, keeping me on edge. The narration elevated the whole experience—Teddy Hamilton continues to prove he’s one of my absolute favorites, and Kit Swann brought so much raw vulnerability. This fourth installment stands beautifully on its own, and if you love small town romance wrapped in drama and intensity, this one’s a must! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Thanks @valentine_pr_ for the gifted copy

Beyond the Blue Horizon was nothing short of brilliant! Learning about Theo and Piper and their secrets had me on the edge of my seat. I loved the well-developed details and build as it all unfolded, and I couldn't wait for these two to get to their happily ever after. This story was intense and drama-filled, with emotion and so much passion. I love a story that makes me feel, and it did just that. It was beyond amazing and completely consumed me!

I loved everything about Piper, she was strong-willed and determined, and my heart hurt for her as I learned about her past. Theo was incredible. He worked hard to make up for past mistakes, but still felt undeserving. I felt for him and couldn't wait to find out about his demons. I loved them meeting and the fire between them. They had great banter with an undercurrent of sexual tension. I loved that pull as they came together. I could feel that tension building and vibrating, it was freaking amazing. I loved them letting their guards down, opening up, and being vulnerable. They both had great growth. I also loved the developing desire between them and how it exploded. This author knows how to write a steamy scene for sure!

I loved the back and forth between present and past, and learning the deep-rooted details that made Theo and Piper who they are. There was a perfect build happening with fantastic hints as threats were learned, I couldn’t wait for it all to collide. The suspense element was mixed in perfectly, and the drama and intensity had me hooked the entire time. I loved their big found family and the bonds they share, and how they brought Piper and her family into the fold. Piper’s son Finn was adorable, and I loved his growing bond with Theo, he made me melt. Her grandma, Nelly, was a spitfire. I loved her sass and attitude and how she laid out her wisdom, it was awesome. I adored the text messages between Theo and the guys and the levity it brought at just the right time.

This book is officially one of my favorites of 2025! I never wanted to put it down. Thanks to the hook at the end with Cash, I am already excited for the next book in the Moonlit Ridge series. I cannot wait! I know it’s going to be a good one.

Beyond the Blue Horizon is book 4 in the Moonlit Ridge series

MMC Theo comes upon FMC Piper after her car spun out on the ice. Theo helps Piper, her son Finn and grandmother Nelly, and has them stay in a cabin at his motel. Piper is resistant to Theo's constant assistance, used to handling everything on her own. She quickly realizes that not only is it nice to have someone anticipate her needs so well, but also that Theo is not going to leaver her be. Theo continues to tell himself that he cannot get too close to Piper and her family, even as he is drawn to them like a moth to flame. Both Piper and Theo refuse to get close to someone, yet neither of them can stay away. They both have secrets they are afraid of the other finding out about, will their desire for each other be enough to overcome the demons of their past?

This story is less of a slow burn but an extremely slow reveal of the secrets that Theo and Piper are holding. I was so intrigued to find out what happened to them both, and the slow reveal was just torture! (in a good way) Both characters are immediately drawn to each other, and the sparks fly even the first night that Theo brings Piper and her family to The Sanctuary motel. Neither of them can fight it for very long. I love Piper's grandma Nelly, she is a feisty lady, and really encourages Piper to take advantage of Theo. Nelly also convinces Piper to stick around Moonlit Ridge, as she is tired of running. Piper warily agrees, and gets a job at Emery's clothing boutique, where she is immediately adopted into the Sovereign Sanctum's girls club. Raven invites Piper and Finn for a fun playdate with Maci and Nolan, Piper agrees but is again hesitant to get close to these people that have treated her so well. It would be so hard to trust anyone after what Piper has been through, but she finally allows herself to try and make a home for Finn, who needs stability in his life. And Theo, he was done for the second he opened Piper's car door after her crash. He tries so hard to fight his feelings, but he truly deserves happiness.

As I said, Theo and Piper have a semi-slow burn, but they really cannot resist each other for long, and then the spice kicks in!

The whole story leads up to the big secret reveal, where both Theo and Piper's past catches up with them. Neither of them will go down without a fight, and the Sovereign Sanctum is always there to defend those who need it most.

My only complaint (don't hate me) is that the profound, out of this world love language is slightly overdone (in my opinion). I know that is the writing style, and I do love it, I just think it loses a little bit of its luster when it is used in almost every chapter. But, I still love the book and the writing overall, and I love the deep, intense way the character's think, just not necessarily with every single time they have a thought.

Some Fav Quotes:
"Never claimed not to be a sadistic bastard."

"This woman was stunning. The kind of exquisite that could cut through every roughened layer of a hardened man. Crack him wide open and make him believe there might be a chance of beautiful things. Too bad I had the propensity of destroying the beautiful."

"The man was written in menace and peril. A dangerous type of beauty that compelled. A magnet that would suck you into an abyss before you even realized what hit you. The last thing I needed was a dark, intimidating knight, and there he was, running around like it was his duty to save us."

"Everything about the man felt like depraved, malicious persuasion. And I had the very foolish sense that I wanted to drag my fingers through it."

"The way I'd wanted to crawl for her like a needy, pathetic puppy when I'd seen her standing outside The Sanctuary's lobby."

""Love that sound. Your voice that I can't get out of my mind. Haunting me night and day. Want to hear it moaning my name. Want to hear it on repeat as I make you come again and again. Want to hear it playing like a song as I write myself so deep in you that I'm the only thing you can feel.""

"I wanted him to mark me. Claim me. Ruin me. Because that's what I'd be. Ruined."

""Your interest in me is verging on obsessed." I tossed it out like an accusation. "You say that like it's a bad thing." His voice did that grunting, rasping thing. A shiver zipped down my spine."

""Only girl sitting on the back of my bike is mine.""

""You are every horizon. Every destination. You are the air I breathe and the ground beneath my feet. And because of you, this dead heart beats.""

Thank you so much to Valentine PR and the author for a copy of this book!

#Review: *Beyond The Blue Horizon* - A.L. Jackson - ARC/ALC [18+]
4.9/5✨
3/5🌶️
[Contains descriptive scenes of violence]

I needed to continue this series by A.L. Jackson! I'm addicted to these bad boys who aren't really the villains in their stories🤭. Thank you so much Amy and Valentine Pr for this ARC!

Some destinies are meant to be intertwined. That's the case with Theo Mallin and three persons which will come into his path. Because of a car accident, Piper, her son Finn and her grandma Nelly had the pleasure to meet with the kindness of an intimidating man but one who was going to help them more than they could have ever imagined.

Because Theo was part of Sovereign Sanctum, a gang of people who had the main purpose of helping women and children in need, he felt unsure about anything else in his life, especially when it came to love. Only one look at gorgeous Piper and he was gone. But can he get past over everything that happened to him? Could he bury the pain he had carried in his heart for so long and finally give love a chance?

I just can't believe how much uncertainty and suspense was inside this book!! I haven't expected at all some things and I was purely surprised by some parts and I loved that plot twist, which was a bit out of the blue. I must admit that I did felt like something was a bit strange there, but the love story and the tension between Theo and Piper was so distracting that I haven't payed the right attention on the other details 😅. Also, can we please talk about how darn sweet were those scenes with Theo and Piper's son, Finn?? Just cuteness overloaded!!!! Grandma Nelly has definitely brought those fun vibes, being the one who tried to see the glass half full, not wanting to go back to those darker days.

Of course, Teddy Hamilton and Kit Swann have done such an absolute beautiful job at bringing these characters to live! I was used with Teddy, listening several books narrated by him, which I loved, always having the best time listening to him, but it was my first encounter with Kit Swann, who impressed me with her way of expressing emotions and to simply make you feel like you're immersed into the story. I loved that I got the chance to listen to this book and to have this wonderful experience!🩵

I enjoyed this story so, so much, loving the mix of romance, suspense, family time and hurtful events. It was super addicting to follow Theo and Piper's stories, to discover their past and to understand better why they felt that heaviness in their hearts. And that plot twist was also something I liked and got my attention, being really immersed into the story, my heart beating so fast in those parts.

How perfect is it that my book mail arrived literally the night before pub day and just in time to share it with you and my review? It was meant to be!

Speaking of meant to be, I didn’t think I’d find a couple I loved more than Raven and Otto, but here we are…Piper and Theo have entered the chat.

The suspense and those full-circle moments (yes, there’s more than one!) completely sealed the deal for me. These two were destined. You could feel the universe conspiring from the very beginning to bring them together.

Piper has been through it, and my heart absolutely shattered for her. She’s so strong and determined to give Finn the life he deserves, and even when life keeps throwing punches, she just keeps tucking and rolling.

Theo has lived the flip side of Piper’s pain, and what little of my heart wasn’t already broken for her, it broke for him. The guilt he carries, layered with the voices from his past telling him he’s incapable of love, made me want to just hold him tight.

Together, they found exactly what they needed: proof that they could love and be loved. A soft place to land. A steady rock when things get tough. Found family. Unconditional love. Seeing past the surface to the soul beneath. That’s what made this story so special.

Finn and Grandma Nelly brought the perfect balance of comic relief and sweetness, helping piece my shattered heart back together.

And that ending?! The setup for book 5 has me absolutely feral! I need it now.

Thank you, @valentine_pr_ and @aljacksonauthor, for these stunning editions and the ALC! 💕

Theo and Pipers' story what a ride the suspense the romance what a rollercoaster. I loved every minute of it! Theo finds Piper, Finn, and Grandma off the road in a blizzard. Theo takes them back to his hotel while the car gets fixed for food heat and shelter. There's a pull from Piper, unexplainable chemistry he can't shake. I love the found family, fate, the dual POV, the slow burn, and banter. He falls first and twists at the end. They are so great! Talk about a page turner!

5⭐️ omggg i loved this one!! even though i just jumped into the story without reading the first 3 books, it was still so amazing and i loveddd the other characters!! whenever i figured out toga and justin were the same, and then how theo and piper’s past all twined together was actually crazy my mind was blownnn. the sanctuary was actually such a beautiful place, but also such a beautiful idea, a way to protect those who can’t protect themselves. some of the grammar in this book felt a bit off but i was still fine with reading it

。၄၃ characters ၄၃ 。

_piper_: she was so strong and sweet and i loved how she cared for her grandma and son, and i loved how she finally was able to trust someone else (theo!!).

_theo_: he’s my dream guyyyy🩷🩷he was so caring and protective from the very beginning and i loved that. i was so glad when piper finally broke down his walls, although hers were so much harder to break than his

_finn_: OMG HE WAS SO ADORABLEEEE I WANT TO GIVE HIM A HUGE HUG

_nelly_: genuinely i love her so much, and i wish i knew her🙏

First Impressions
Beyond The Blue Horizon is the story that features two damaged souls. This is where we have a story of a woman on the run and the hero providing a haven for her. There was some beginning angst, some deep emotions that hits different and imployed a fun winter theme that I was all in for. We get some strong found family connection, some flashbacks to show the historical connections but also to see why both character have a tortured complex and find it more difficult to trust. We some plenty of suspense, thrills and intrigue to keep you guessing till the end.

First Line
"You have intel?" I asked into the bluetooth as I wound my truck through the dense forest on my way back to Moonlit Ridge.

The Main Protagonists
The Hero: Theo
The Heroine: Piper

Summary
Piper and her son and grandmother are rescued by Theo when they experience some car issues. Piper is fully of sass and fire and protectiveness over her son. Theo knows she is holding secrets and there is a connection that they have together but Theo knows he has a past and he can't afford to pursue anything with Piper even though he wants to. Piper is on the run from her past and she can't afford to trust anyone, she knows what could happen if she even tries to open her heart. But sometimes love can happen when you least expect it...

What I Loved
There was so much deliciousness within this book. Both characters were so remarkable and they had such painful pasts. But they also had such strong personalities and were willing to protect others. We see the emotion that causes so much angst between these two. We see how protective Theo is by nature. It doesn't matter who it is, its an instinct for him. Then we have Piper who is packed with secrets and for much of the story we really don't know why she is on the run or what has happened to her. It was intriguing to see how the story evolved. It was a bit different than I actually expected. The emotional portayal of the relationship was by far my favorite aspect. You can literally feel the angst, the pain that are within the past of these characters and see how much it costs them both to learn to trust again and take a leap for each other. But once they truly take that leap for one another.....its as warm as sunshine!!!

What I Struggled With
The beginning dialogue between Theo and Piper. It just was so angsty at times and it just didn't fit the ton of the story and it truly wasn't needed. I never understood why Piper was so antagonistic with Theo.

Narration
I absolutely adored it. I know some readers are complaining about the female narration. But I truly adored the tones of emotion that was inflected in the story. It really had me in my feels and this is common in her narrations. I love a narration that can make me feel emotions deeply. I think some readers were put off because this isn't normal for audiobooks so it made some readers uncomfortable. But this is what we want to experience when reading

Overall View
Beyond The Blue Horizon is a stunning....emotionally vibrant romance that delivers in the thrills and family dynamics to melt your heart!

I adore this series. Morally grey heroes risking it all for the right reasons (and for love).

One by one these guys have fallen to women that captured their attention and it’s no different for Theo. While his role in the group has always been to shelter families running from danger in his hotel sanctuary, this time he helps Piper and her family, thinking they’re just temporary travelers in a jam. What he doesn’t know at first (but suspects) is that they’re really the kind of people he is used to helping- in danger and in need of shelter.

I could have opened this book without knowing who wrote it and guess it was a AL Jackson book. Her writing is unique and poetic and full of flowery language that draws you in to its romanticism.

I love the little surprises thrown into these books. The way she links Theo’s past to Piper is so cool, and adds depth to the story. There’s a bit of a past and present storyline here which gives us insight into Theo’s role in the group. Grandma Nelly adds some delightful humor, and the girlfriend group adds warmth and love.

This series is one I find hard to put down. I loved Piper and Theo and returning to the Moonlit Ridge world.

Thank you to A.L. Jackson and Valentine PR for an advance copy of this book for review.

It always feels so special to return to Moonlit Ridge with each book in this series and “Beyond the Blue Horizon” was no different. It has magical moments of the same lovable and charismatic characters from the other books in this series that we absolutely adore.

But this is Theo and Piper’s story and as the reader this book had a different tone from the very beginning. It is different in a way that both characters have a lot of mystery about them that I couldn’t quite put my finger on. It was clear that they both had been through a lot but that they would each prefer to carry that pain and regret close to their chest rather than share it with anyone else. I was intrigued by the mystery!

Theo comes across Piper and her family one evening during a snowstorm and his world is flipped upside down when he must temporarily take them in. Piper doesn’t trust anyone, especially this man with his darkness, rugged appearance and trouble written in every look he sends her way. But what Theo didn’t anticipate was how much trouble Piper would be for him and his heart. I especially enjoyed the swoon-worthy moments with them and her son, the healing parts of their story and the heart-stopping suspense that I never saw coming!

If you love small town, a protective and morally gray hero, a courageous single mom, he falls first and a little hate to love, then you will love this book! Read books one through three in the Moonlit Series first, then prepare yourself for a suspenseful and spicy snowstorm on October 7th!

I’ve continued to really enjoy this series and seeing how each character’s story plays out. Here we have Theo who stumbles upon Piper’s broken down car. He’s trying to help her out, but she’s jaded by her past and is reluctant to trust anyone. And who blames her. She’s currently on the run with her child and constantly looking over her shoulder. Even when she wants to leave, she feels drawn to Theo. The last thing she ever expects is to make friends and for this to start to feel like home.

I really enjoyed this book! I loved watching Piper let down her walls and Theo realize he’s deserving of love too. He’s spent all this time being the protector, but slowly realizes that he too can be happy. And hello Piper’s kid is the cutest thing ever! And seeing Piper become friends with everyone and start to put down roots was so great.

The narrators did a phenomenal job! I couldn’t believe how quickly I flew through this one. I loved hearing the pure excitement in the kids voices as they became friends. Definitely recommend listening to this one!

OKAY. YOU GUYS. This is hands down my favorite in the series so far. I am so blown away!! Everything about this book is EVERYTHING. The plot, the characters, the spice. THE TWIST. I absolutely LOVED their story and I will never shut up about them. They have my entire heart.

I wasn’t able to put this down. I devoured it. Theo and Piper are perfect for each other. They both have some heavy weight on their shoulders and I love that both of them ended up having to trust each other and help lift that weight a little. It was so heartwarming. But the most swoon worthy is the way Theo is with Finn.

The plot in this was my favorite out of the series. The way everything unfolded and the suspense throughout the book is what kept me wanting to read more and never put this book down. A.L. Jackson has a way to my heart and she will never disappoint me. If she writes it, I will read it. I was blessed with the audiobook and they did an amazing job bringing these two to life. I mean Teddy as Theo?! I ATE THAT UP.

I’ve pretty much read everything Amy has written over the years. Her writing style has definitely changed - in some ways certainly for the better and in some not really to my liking as much.

I was really enjoying this early on but struggled a bit more as it went on. The books in this series are longer than her other books but it hasn’t really added much in a positive way. Instead, I’ve felt like they’ve really dragged. If this had been a little more condensed I think I would have liked it a whole lot more.

I did like it overall, but this series just hasn’t been my favorite of Amy’s.

Jackson’s writing never ceases to amaze and capture my attention. Her storylines are always, ALWAYS, heart pumping, angst driven and emotional; all the things I LOVE!

When I want a mix of romantic suspense, steamy angst with a drop of humor I know Jackson will deliver. Piper and Theo from the start were full of angst. Their connection was instant and the more they fought it the harder they started to fall. I loved how sweet marshmallowy Theo was. He is the big bad protector but Piper broke through his walled off demeanor.

The storyline was filled with twists and the ending…heart pumping and jaw dropping. I couldn’t get enough of these two and can not wait for what’s in store for this band of bad boy brothers and the women who brought them to their knees!

Theo, Piper and little Finn were EVERYTHING in this addictive and all-consuming, romantic suspense. I listened to the ALC and the narrators were fantastic in bringing these characters to life.

AL Jackson always pulls me in to her stories with such ease and continues to surprise me with the twists and turns - and this book was no different. I love a story that grabs me from the start and I can’t put it down until the end. Beyond the Blue Horizon did just that.

If you love single parent, morally grey MCs, and a world full of edgy heroes and their found family, then this book and series is for you! Bravo once again, AL Jackson!!

Ok. I'm going to say it. Piper and Theo are officially my favorite couple of this series! The tension between these two was strong. Piper tried so hard to stay away... scared and wanting to protect her son and her grandma (Nelly). Her back story absolutely tore me up but Theo was the perfect person to protect her. I absolutely loved Theo. There is something about him!!! Theo thought he wasn't capable of love but something about Piper just drew him in and he couldn't resist. This book absolutely took me on a rollercoaster of emotions. I tried to guess what the little plot twist would be but of course I was wrong! I was on the edge of my seat and absolutely ate it up.

As always, A.L Jackson writes the absolutely cutest kids in the world. Sweet little Finn was PRECIOUS. And I want to have grandma Nelly as my own grandmother. I adored both of them!

🎧Audio:🎧
This was a dual narration by Teddy Hamilton & Kit Swann. Kit captured Piper's vulnerability & and brought all her emotions to life so beautifully. Teddy was absolutely perfect as the protective, intense Theo. Their performance was absolutely fantastic.

Beyond the Blue Horizon releases October 7. Thank you so much to A.L Jackson for the ALC/ARC & Valentine PR for an e-ARC!
