A few days ago, the most dangerous task on my to-do list was finding the least wrinkled t-shirt in my precarious pile of dirty laundry. What a difference a few days make.
My once small team of three has now grown to include an orc savant, a bi-lingual brujo, an assassin turned thief, an arrogant vampire, a conflicted dark witch, a sentinel on the lamb, Cleopatra’s cobra, and lastly because he’s annoying as a wart on your ass, is Ox’s future brother-in-law, Benny.
The fun doesn’t stop there, folks. Ox, Chet, and I are walking around in bodies that keep shifting, and we still haven’t managed to steal the Soul Snatcher back from the Asian mob. I finally met the girl of my dreams, who just happens to be a slayer, hates my guts, and wants to kill half my team.
And if all that isn’t enough excitement for you, we’ve now got Vachos’s homicidal sister and her army of thralls also trying to kill us, and Mallis just gave us a new mission to retrieve his missing spell book and the skeletal steed of the Eligos, the Great Duke of Hell and ruler of 60 legions of demons.
There’s never a dull day here at Tarot’s Pawn Shop, so welcome to the Shift Show.

The adventure certainly continues and gets even better. There were a few twists and turns that I totally didn’t expect but was certainly pleased they happened. I look forward to the next book.
This is my favorite book in this series so far. There is more action, more magic and more snark. I enjoy reading about Danny and his gang going after the Alchemist. Once you start, it's hard to put this book down. And of course there is a cliff hanger, but it's a good ending and the cliff hanger works! I can't wait for the next book!
