Lila North doesn't have time for distractions.
Unfortunately for her, Travis Adler is a big one.

Raising her four-year old brother on her own, ducking the persistent threat of their unstable mother, and working hard to make ends Lila is exhausted and in need of help, even if she won't admit it. After running late to work one too many times, she loses her job at the worst possible moment. To make things worse, jobs in Willow Vale are as rare as they come.

Which leaves her with only one option offered by the last person she wants to see.

Enter Travis local brooding bar owner and the eldest son of the Adler family, a prominent ranching family in the town of Willow Vale. He's also Lila's ex-boyfriend, ex-best friend, ex-everything. When he finds her standing in his bar, asking for a job, he can’t refuse.

Now that Lila is in his life again after avoiding him for years, he's finding it's hard to stay away from her. But of course, Lila intends on keeping a safe distance from Travis for as long as she can. The only question is, can they stay away from each other? Or will they both give in to the feelings buried deep in their hearts fighting to come to the surface?

It was too sweet and smooth. If I'm reading second chance book then I preferred it angsty. He was not celibate during seperation, if author wanted to make book this sweet then he could have been celibate during separation it would have been better. I feel like there was a never any reason for separation, and they never talk much about it. I like Lia with her brother, she was the best mother figure for river. River was the best thing in this book.I like Travis family also but I wanted some spice.

The roller-coaster this book takes you on from the very beginning to the very end is honestly a great time. I had so much fun reading this book and I DID NOT WANT it to end, I was loving every second of it. Lila and Travis deserved their second chance and I loved the family they have surrounding them and supporting them. I cannot tell you how many times I was giggling and kicking my feet while reading this. Willow Vale will definitely pull on your heartstrings and make you want to root for the FMC Lila. Travis is DOWN BAD, and River is the cutest little 4 year old. Also, Rose -- I need to know about WREN PLS AND THANK YOU.

If you love:
- second chance
- mutual pining
- small town setting
- forced proximity
- he calls her darlin'

Then please pick up Willow Vale when it releases April 10, 2025!

DNF for me. MMC is with other people in their years apart and OF COURSE our heroine isn’t. Shocker. Oh yes I’ll take you back even though you’ve screwed everyone in the small town we live in! Gross. Authors stop writing those story lines. It makes the females look weak and desperate.

These two lived in the same town all their years apart but never saw each other? And she’s best friends with his sister? But they never once ran into each other? Okay, sure.

Willow Vale is a wonderfully lovely, heartfelt read. At its heart this is a story about love, hope, and courage which finds former lovers, Lila and Travis, taking the leap and giving themselves a second chance.

But it'll take some hurdles to jump over first!

Lila is an immensely admirable heroine, who raises her little brother with endless love. It's that love that drives her and makes her resilient, even when faces with less than ideal circumstances. Such circumstances land her jobless, and her only hope to gaining employment is stepping into the bar owned by none other than her former love, Travis.Their initial meeting is certainly not the warmest, especially as Travis is caught off guard, but he understands her situation and offers her the job. That choice becomes the domino effect and their continual spent time together unfurls their deeply shared love that tried to hide away.

Those feelings simply won't stay still for long. I cheered when the fight was on to recover a lost love. I won't say who made the first move, who took the first step, but it was wholly satisfying to witness. To genuinely root for. Lila and Travis are simply meant to be-- and theirs is a story worthwhile to discover. And it was heartening to watch how Travis became part of the family Lila and her boy formed. The bonds blossomed beautifully.

I ended this one with a bright smile!

Thank you Rose Marie for the advanced complimentary copy, I leave this honest review voluntarily.

I had high hopes and couldn't wait to read this book. The synopsis and cover were intriguing, and it didn't disappoint.

Lila, aka Delilah, was so endearing. She unfortunately suffered so much growing up and had so many knockdowns, but for the love and devotion to her little brother, River, she tried her best. Travis, her ex, was a man who loved her but after she broke up with him. He tried to move on but glad he realised quickly that there was no other woman for him. 4 years later, they reconnect. It was low on steamy scenes but high on romance and second chances.

Thank you to the author for this ARC!

Lila is trying to make ends meet while raising her little brother, River. When she needs a job, she’s takes one at the last place she wants, her ex’s bar.

Travis has never truly moved on after Lila broke his heart. When she’s back in his orbit, he can’t let her go. While Lila deals with her mother’s antics and her feelings for Travis, River is growing closer to the Adler family on their ranch.

Travis stands by Lila until she’s ready for more. He’s supportive and even becomes a father figure to River.

This was a second chance, small town, single guardian romance with a little heat. 🤠

Thank you to Rose Marie for an eARC of Willow Vale 🤍

I’m nothing if not a lover of a cowboy romance!! This one is a bit more cowboy-adjacent but still!

It has everything you might want in a small town romance! Big found family vibes with lovable side characters. Romance with a past! The longing!!!!

I do feel like it read a bit like a debut (which it is!). I feel the author has a great future ahead of her and will only grow as a writer as she continues! I’m looking forward to her future books.

I have been waiting for this book ever since Rose Marie made her very first Willow Vale post on her instagram, and now I got the opportunity to read an arc of it!🥹❤️

I absolutely LOVED this small town, cowboy romance. I was hooked from page one and could not put it down.🤭
The characters, the plot, the beautiful ranch, it was all so perfect and left me wanting more of Rose Marie’s writing.🥹

Delilah is an incredibly strong FMC who I relate to and admire so much. The way she takes care of her little brother, River, and gives him all the love she can made my heart so full.❤️
My heart also broke for her and everything she had to go through but it was all worth it to see how this book ended and where Delilah ended up: healing, happy, and loved.🥹

TRAVIS!! He is the standard!😮‍💨
I love this man so much. He is a rugged cowboy with a good heart and is only soft for Delilah and his family.❤️
He showed Delilah what true love is and that he would never abandon her and always love and care for both her and River.🥹
I love Travis and his family so incredibly much and can’t wait to see where this series goes. I’m ready for the next book already.🤭❤️

Thank you so much for the opportunity to read an arc copy of Willow Vale, Rose Marie. I LOVED it and can’t wait to read your next book.❤️

Thank you to Rose Marie for letting me be a Beta reader for Willow Vale. I've had my eye on this one for a while and all the teasers on Instagram had me so excited.

I won't review this fully just yet but I will say, this is for the Cowboy Romance girlies and especially fans of the Chestnut Springs series by Elsie Silver and the Rebel Blue Ranch series by Lyla Sage. Mark my words, this will be a big hit and I will be doing as much as I can to shove it down everyone's throats! Keep your eyes peeled for Willow Vale!

"But then…everything shifted into place.
As if we were two lost pieces of a puzzle connected from the very beginning. No need to search to find the right one when it was already meant to be."

I was lucky to receive an ARC of Rose Marie's debut novel, Willow Vale. It follows the story of Lila and Travis.

The dedication hit me right in the feels.

For every soul out there who feels as if they can’t get back up. Every heart that’s been broken. Every thought that makes us question if we’re on the right path.

Don’t give up.

I love Rose's writing style, and Willow Vale had me kicking my feet and screaming as I swooned over Lila and Travis. I could not put it down and devoured it in less than a day.

I loved Lila and Travis's story and thought they were perfect together.

I adored Lila. My heart broke for her after learning about her past, but I am in awe of her strength and resilience after everything she has endured. Underneath all those walls she has built up is a kind, loving, caring woman with a heart of gold. I was so happy when she finally put her walls down and let Travis in. He showed Lila how strong she was, that it was okay to ask for help, that she was worthy of being loved, and what it meant to be someone's first choice. I have no words to describe how she selflessly stepped up and cared for River and continues to do so, but all I know is everyone deserves to have their own Lila in their life.

Travis is everything you could ever want in a book boyfriend and more. That man is so far gone for Lila and has been for years. He has the patience of a saint. He saw Lila, really saw her, and knew her better than she knew herself at times, which made me fall in love with him. The way he cares for her and River and looks after them is perfection. Where can I find myself a man like Travis?

The found family aspect of the book is complete perfection. Desi and the Adlers are some of the most supportive people, and I adore how they are always there for each other. Everyone deserves to have people like them in their lives. I hope we see more of Desi, Finn, Wren, and Logan.

I can not wait to read what Rose comes out with next!

Thank you so much to Rose Marie for this ARC and the opportunity to read your debut novel 🤍

mini book review - willow vale ; rose marie
★★★.75/5

your usual sweet, heartfelt read with sprinkles of sob moments. 🥹
wasn’t sure what to fully expect diving into this one but i enjoyed it so much more then I had expected. the whole second chance romance definitely gave me so much hope for the storyline & there were so many potential for this book to go in different ways but still be so goood!

lila, she was just so easy to love. her relationship with river + wanting to do everything right by her little brother. I just admired everything about her, her resilience, her soft and focused personality. the way her character was full of real & realistic emotions as a “single parent” & trying to get by, everything about her felt real & raw & just her in all made me love her. but on the side, my heart did ached heard for her. seeing as she was doing everything possible for the both of them & insert her mom, she just stuck her fingers in open wounds & made lila story so much more heartbreaking.

& travis, oh how how gentle & sweet this man was. as a second chance romance, this man truly never stopped loving lila & it showed so strongly. the patiences this man had, it was just giddy moment worthy. + him with river?? even more had me literally melting. but travis truly knew lila by heart even after years. the way he cared & was always there for her at her moments. ugh, he was the definition of the perfect book boyfriend. BUT this man communication & words?? perfection to the t.

“willow vale” was an amazing read. I adored the environment & setting with the sprinkle of cowboy/small town & the side characters were just so entertaining. the last few chapter + the epilogue was nothing i had expected & completely caught me off guard for the better. this book was definitely a roller coaster of emotions but the ending had me smiling through & through.

Willow Vale is a heartfelt, feel-good read packed with love, hope, and the courage to take a second chance. Lila and Travis are former lovers thrown back into each other’s orbit, but before they can find their way back, there are a few hurdles to clear—and let’s just say, the road isn’t exactly smooth.

Lila is the kind of heroine you can’t help but admire—strong, selfless, and fiercely devoted to raising her little brother. When she suddenly finds herself jobless, desperation leads her to the last place she ever expected: the bar owned by none other than Travis, the one who got away. Their reunion? Awkward. Travis is completely caught off guard, but despite the tension, he offers her the job. And just like that, fate starts nudging them back together.

The slow unraveling of their buried feelings was so satisfying to watch—those emotions were not staying hidden for long. I won’t spoil who made the first move, but trust me, it’s worth the wait. Lila and Travis are simply meant to be, and seeing them fight for that love had me cheering. Even more heartwarming? Watching Travis seamlessly become part of the little family Lila and her brother built. The bonds that formed along the way made this story all the more beautiful.

What to Expect:
🤎he calls her darlin’
🍂angst
🤎gentle love
🍂cozy small town setting
🤎a MMC who yearns
🍂mutual pining
🤎a soft FMC
🍂the FMC gets sick, the MMC takes care of her
🤎 “I can do it myself, I know you can but let me”
🍂they have to work together

Thank you to Rose Marie, the author, for the ARC opportunity!

I’m IN PAIN😭

this book was such an adventure, equal parts heartbreaking and lovely.

not only was it a sweet, wholesome second-chance romance, but it was also a glimpse into Delilah’s journey with her self-doubt and grief she battles with her mother’s addiction.

Lila is such a strong female main character, raising her baby brother all on her own, working to make ends meet, while also dealing with the looming presence of her mother’s past (and current) struggles with addiction.

Travis is AN ANGEL. the way he never stopped loving Delilah, and how he immediately jumped in to care for her— providing support not only for Lila, but also for River when they both needed it so badly.

I loved this story, I’m so thankful I got the opportunity to read this arc🥹🫶🏻

A second chance romance that squeezes your heart!

This was such a cute story with a lot of twists and turns that kept me reading even when I knew I should get some sleep. If there’s a brooding but also sweet mcc sign me up🙋🏻‍♀️. I liked that the plot was more than just the romance. This is for all the eldest daughters who feel like they can’t ask for help without inconveniencing everyone around them. Sometimes it’s hard to learn there are people out there who care enough to just be there because they simply want to. Lila learns that throughout the pages of this book and through the actions of so many in Willow Vale. This was tender and sweet and heartening.

This was such a sweet debut. I was sucked in by the character art and stayed for their story.

This second chance romance is set four years after their breakup, and they have been avoiding each other ever since. Travis needs a bartender, and Delilah needs a more flexible job to take care of her little brother, River, who absolutely stole my heart and this book.

I wanted more from the flashbacks or for them to talk about their past more. Some of the pieces were there, but I feel like I was missing some of their story.

I’m hoping Wren’s story is next. 🤞🏼

I have followed Rose Marie on insta for quite a while now and I have been so excited for this book to release ever since her first teased about it. It was a lovely, heartfelt read.

Thank you so much to Rose Marie for this ARC!!

This romance was SWEET and wholesome to no end! 💘When Lila needs a job to support her and her little brother, she has no choice but to go to work at the one place she least wants to and for the person she least wants to...

This book had a lot going on - more than just the romantic storyline, which I enjoyed! I loved seeing Lila as a guardian to River, her relationship with the Alders, her overcoming her struggles with her mom, and her past with Travis.

Lila is always strong, always pulling through to keep her and her brother afloat, so it was incredibly touching to see her be able to focus on herself and to bring down her walls when she reunited with Travis 😌! I do wish we had gotten a bit more backstory to their relationship, or her relationship with the Alders, because I felt like it was a little weird that none of them really had contact for four years... but I also loved the second chances that were there and how much love that family has to give!! 😭❤️‍🩹

Willow Vale was such a joy to read! Is that a sequel I see in the distance...🧐🧐

This was a really sweet second chance romance that dealt with some heavy issues. I loved the relationship Delilah had with Travis, and even separately with Travis’s family. They treated River and Delilah like one of their own and I loved that.

Addiction, child neglect

This book was a brand new level of mutual pining that I loved. I love when and FMC and MMC just cannot stay away from each other no matter how hard they fight it. I loved seeing the flashbacks to when Lila and Travis were initially together and how they were really “it” for each other. When life came knocking at Lila’s door and she was forced to answer it with a baby brother, River, she had no choice but step into the guardian role. As much as I hate the situation for her, I was so happy that she didn’t waver on doing what was right for River. She never did.

When we’re reintroduced to now grown Lila and Travis, again their chemistry was there. Reading them so haunted with their memories and their feelings, I just wanted to push them together more and more. I really loved how Travis resumed his role of caretaking for Lila no matter how much they’d gone through and even extended it to River. This story is a neat and realistically done second chance romance. Rose showed just how messy and hard things could be when two MCs get a second chance but also showed how beautiful it can be when you embrace it.
