SPIRITWARRIOR

Rate this book
Jody had been born a warrior. Entrusted to protect his family at all costs, he fought hard and played even harder. He followed the rules Silas had set over the family in order to protect their gifts, but Jody didn’t consider it breaking the rules to have a little fun when he was away from the mountain. Didn’t every warrior deserve a break when there was no war to fight? He might have been born knowing there was a soulmate in his future, but until then, he owed no allegiance to a woman he hadn’t even met.

Rationalizing his past where women were concerned, Jody discovered how wrong he was when his soulmate showed up, thinking he was no knight in shining armor.

Sophie could spot a player a mile off, and Jody was a player. He might pretend to be just a good ole boy, but from the brokenhearted women panting after him whenever he came down from his mountain, she wasn’t buying the malarky he was trying to sell her.

If Jody really thought he could convince her that they were soulmates, then he must be drinking too much moonshine. She was just trying to survive, and the spotlight he'd put on her was going to lead her enemies right to her door. What she needed was a fighter, not a lover. And, while she might be attracted to Jody, he certainly was not the hero.

Spirit Warrior

Sophie is a sassy little thing. She is the estranged daughter of the old owner of the diner. Marty one who won't be missed. Jody one of the Coleman's has a fight on his hands trying to convince Sophie they are soulmates. As he is a player with the women.

I liked seeing the jealous side of Sophie, her actions were funny. The Coleman's are fierce and loyal to an extreme. I just wished we got to see more of everyone's powers. I'm going to have to make a list of who has what lol.

The one pet peeve I have is a book ending before 100% this ends early so the page count is NOT true. I understand she wants to support her daughter but she can just do a book suggestion.

My only problem with this book is from the time they got together until the end felt rushed. It was too short, I wanted more from this story. I also felt that Sophie gave in too easy. They had a good back and forth going, then bam, they are hooking up. I don’t mind his proposal being quick, just that the first time and after felt unnaturally rushed.

I’m a Jamie Begley stan! Always have been and always will be!! I’ve said time and time again that her MC books are by far the best MC series I’ve ever read. I think one reason is because of how she incorporates all of her characters into each and every book. The Coleman series is one I have looked forward to since Gavin’s books and the first two have not disappointed!

This series is on the fence between paranormalish and fantasy as all the Coleman’s and Porters have been given gifts by the gods. I can’t tell you how excited and nervous I am after reading the Afterword in this one and I haven’t the foggiest idea of who will get the next book but I’m pumped because whoa buddy! The convo between Mother and Fate has me a tone bit worried😳
I digress!

Jody and Sophie had the best banter however I feel as if there at the end it was a bit rushed for me. Although the epilogue did tie up a few lose ends it was too short for my liking and that is the only negative thing I have to say.
Jody should have heeded Silas’s warning about being a hoe and Sophie should have believed in the soulmate! But we wouldn’t have gotten the fighting and making up would we!

It was a great book and I can’t wait to see how this series continues!

Ever since Jamie Begley released the news of a new Coleman’s Legacy book I’ve been dying for it to be released!

I’ve loved Jamie’s books for years now and can never get enough of her writing! The Coleman’s have been an interest of mine since meeting them in the other books she’s written. But they’ve always been a bit more of a mystery to the reader until Jamie gave us a glimpse into their lives.

The second book in this series follows Jody the Coleman who’s been entrusted to protect his family at all costs. Sophie is in Treepoint after the death of her estranged father Marty.

Jody knows he has a soulmate but is unaware of just who exactly she is, until he meets Sophie. She’s dealing with her own problems and doesn’t instantly fall for Jody and his Casanova ways!

I love that she doesn’t instantly fall for Jody and makes him work for her feelings.

Trouble is never far from Treepoint and Sophie is put in danger by Marty’s prior actions.

Can Jody and the Coleman’s protect her? Or will the danger Marty brought to her door tear her and Jody apart?

Strangest book yet. Again, I'll preface and say you can't read as a standalone. Especially this one. Pretty impossible. I was even scratching my head a couple of times. So in JB land God is Mother the controller of all thing's along with her sidekick Fate. The Coleman are descendants from the Native Americans. Don't come at. I say Native Americans because I was taught that way. My great grandmother was half Cherokee. My family originated from The Appalachian mountains in Eastern Kentucky. Anyways, the Coleman brothers and Porter siblings are all demigods given power from Mother through their Native American heritage. Still with me? Ok then. Now on to the plot. Not much there other than Jody a reformed manhoe finding his soulmate who ended up being Marty's daughter. Marty was killed by Moon in his book because he almost got Moon's wife and son killed. She comes to town and bam! She starts fighting her connection to Jody. Who was hot I gotta say. Her? Not so much. For the last three books from this author I can only describe the FMCs as, how can I put this delicately? Gotta go with ugly. Yes, don't shoot the messenger. That's how the author basically wrote it. The H called her unattractive. The h put herself a 4 on a scale of 1 to 10. Are we sure JB is writing this? I've never known her to write her characters so shallow before. We had the club whores, yes that's exactly what they are, written as looking like goddesses and models. Seriously? WTF is going on? So basically I'm getting the jest that all the Coleman brother's soulmates are going to be ugly. And they're disappointed, but can't fight that soulmate feeling because they're literally written in the stars. Of course all the Coleman brothers look like male models. 🙄 I digress. Apparently something wicked this way comes after that cliffy. I know JB's next book is a Last Rider's. Specifically the prez of the Ohio chapter. Why can't I think of his road name atm. Starts with a W. Pretty sure Silas will be next. He's the oldest Coleman brother. So thing's are kinda going off the rails here, but I only have one more book which is her collab with her daughter. I always skip the Made Men story and go straight to JB's. That's 38 books if I'm not mistaken. Literally patting myself on the back. 😂 But I definitely don't regret starting these interconnected stories. They're definitely OTT. Completely unsafe for the safety squad, but honestly addicting. 🤷

Forgot to mention. Jody's gift is being able to communicate with the living and the dead. He can even make them do his will, but hasn't used that particular persuasion since he was a child. And if you made it through this highly confusing review. Thank you. 😂

It came to me. The Ohio prez is Wizard.

Easy 5 stars! I read spiritwarrior under 24 hours, it was so good. Begley can write some addicting storylines and I really liked Jody and Sophie.

Few thoughts
Sophie was amazingly jealous heroine and she let it show. It's too rare to read about a heroine who shows her jealousy so clearly. I loved it! Jody accepted Sophie's jealous behavior just fine, because after all, it was his fault. He should have been faithful to his soulmate and not to be such a manwhore.. I just wish I could have seen Jody groveling for forgiveness. A few times it was addressed that Jody felt remorse, but we didn't really see a direct apology.

Also, the moment when Jody thought he was in frienzone with Sophie, would have been great to read more of his thoughts - would he have really settled for being friends and tried to move on?

In addition, we read that Sophie was nothing that Jody had expected of his soulmate to look like and that he was a breastman... It would have been great if the book had showed us how Jody's viewed of Sophie's appearance more loving way and how he felt about Sophies small breasts. Were they all he needs from now on?

A proper epilogue was also missing. Just a few thought that i was missing :)

Plus points for glimpses into Gavin and Ginny's family life, they are so sweet and i'm so happy of Gavins hea. Just one question, where is Kiera?? She was supposed to be the next child after Freddie to be born - hello, she was supposed to be Cruz's future spouse, where is she??

But overall, a great book that met my own personal requirements list! I can't wait for Silas' book, he really deserves his own hea. I still hope his soulmate is the deaf girl and not his sister!!

the Coleman boys are 💫💫💫💫

I’m not sure what I love so much about the Coleman boys. Maybe because I loved Ginny first and always was intrigued by Silas. Not sure.

This one hit just as hard. Jody is the playboy that all the girls want. Too bad he only wants his girl. Except she thinks he’s a good time guy. Sophie ends up realizing that of course he is a good guy who maybe tried to fix things in his life the wrong way. These two are meant to be.

They fight and banter and she makes him work for it. They have a love that comes from the meeting of one soul in two bodies.

This is a fun series to read and get back to the town of Treepoint. To tie things together even more.

Jamie can’t write a bad book. I love her characters and the world she’s built for them. They are so fun.

I can’t wait for the next one I have a feeling we will all get to Silas finally get his girl!!!!

Sophie had done her best to not give in to Jody, poor gal, can’t fight fate…lol
Jody had to deal with the aftermath of being well, a tramp and his “hookups” went mental from lack of 6hr sexcapades 🤭😈💋
Good book, enjoy seeing a bit more of what The Colemans can do😉
🐩hopefully she stitched Pixie back up??!🪡🧵
⭐️Gotta admit, I like Greers bluntness, minus the attitude though, but sometimes it’s just nice to have no BS in a conversation when he is just direct!

💔Was nice to see the truth about Marty and why he did what he did…
📚Still contemplating if I should /want/need to read the first 3books?!?!…🧐 I wonder whose book is next-does Silas finally get his SoulMate???

Smart gal, pretty sure she won that argument: (but, she did go too far kicking him in the nuts, there was no reason for that)

🤭There appears be a proper multi-series order…oopsie🙃

***Few spoilers ahead***

Jody & Sophie had most of my heart. And I say most and not all because I felt cheated by them.

I say this because I definitely wanted to read more of their story and I felt I was left on a cliffhanger I felt once I hit 70ish percent everything was speeding up and it makes sense since the book stopped at around 80ish percent which absolutely hurt my heart. I loved them. I didn’t want to stop reading them so obviously I felt cheated of not having their full book and story. I do feel Jamie did this on purpose to make way for the other siblings books. I will say this book did make me more excited to read the other brothers books. In the first book firewalker I was only obsessed with reading Silas book and he absolutely had my heart but I must say this book got me very excited to read any of the other brothers books now especially Flynn. My heart hurts for him and I hope we get a happy book for him. I definitely recommend this book as it gives you more indepth explanation of their powers and “Mother”. I’m really interested in seeing where Jamie takes us in the next book!

P.S. The only reason why I gave this book a 4/5 was because it definitely could of been longer and not rushed in the end.

I am such a fan of this author. I can't say I have ever been disappointed in a book. There may be things I wish hadn't happened a certain way but overall I am excited each time a new book comes out.
I have to say that Jody was just a bit to cocky IMO. I don't know if it was because he knew that Sophie was his soulmate. The whole situation with him sleeping around and she hearing it and then him pursuing her instantly was a bit too much.
I was a bit disappointed in Sophie. I was so sure she was going to give him a run for his money. Sadly she gave in to quickly and really didn't make him work for it. Especially since it seemed that every female in town was coming on to him and he wasn't doing much to put a stop to it.
I am so glad that it appears that Silas is FINALLY going to get his HEA!

The Colemans are back and they were worth the wait. Jody is hoping to unite with his soul mate, but it is going to be a lot of work. His past sexual history is coming back to haunt him. His soul mate is not impressed with used goods.

Things get interesting when Marty's old restaurant re-opens with Marty's daughter, Sophie, at the grill, the register and the tables. She may have been left the building but she struggles with everything else. She is about to run for the hills when Marty's past comes back.

The Colemans won't let anything happen to her. Jody is still trying to prove himself. I was never sure how either of them would react at any moment giving an enjoyable read. It is a good thing to have the Colemans on your side.

Giving it 4 stars. I think I was expecting and hoping for a longer book and story for Jody, though. Unlike, Matthew's book where the danger for Alanna was so in your face that to resolve it, a lot has to happen in the end. I like the peek to what Jody can do though, so there's that. Here's hoping we get more answers in future books.

Spoiler..
Also, I'm a little confused as how Freddie and Leah (Ginny and Reaper's kids) are now born with Leah being second born, but in Reaper's 3rd book epilogue (which is 10 yrs down the line), Freddie was born first, Kiera second and baby Leah is the new addition. 🤷🏻‍♀️

But anyhoo, it's a book I enjoyed. Makes you want to re-read the series 🥰

I just didn't feel the spark between them. I kinda felt that if they were soulmate they never would've been together. Even jody said she not his type like 😒. And why is she always putting herself down. Also who dream is to own a restaurant but doesnt know how to cook; like make it make sense. The one thing I notice is jamie gives you the brothers power in the book title which I thought was brilliant. But this couple was not my favorite so far there was so much that was rushed and where you could not connect but it was a good filler which is sad for me since I have been looking forward to the colemans books. Silas and ginny were working hard to carry this book that's for sure.

This is the second book in 'The Colemans Legacy' series and the brother that this story focuses on is Jody. The Coleman's are such an interesting family and I absolutely love how their stories are written with their family banter, love and loyalty. Sophie was a great addition to the series but I would have loved for their story to be a little longer. I just wanted more but I'm so excited to read what will be next for this family especially after how this story ended. Can't wait to read more about each of these brothers and learn more about this family as the series continues!!!!

Couldn't stop reading it was that good!

Absolutely loved this story❤. Sophie has inherited a restaurant and decided to move to Treepoint trying to make a better life for her and her parents. Jody Coleman knows who she is and what she means to him but Sophie finds out he has really been sowing his wild oats. Along their journey we get to visit a little with past friends which I thoroughly enjoyed. Couldn't put it down. Highly recommend.
Now its time to do a re-read of the Last Riders, the Coleman's and the Porters. Enjoy!

INTERESTING STORY

I loved going on with the Colmans’s story but wish the books weren’t so far apart! I really liked that other Last Rider characters like Reaper showed up, Another Coleman, Jody this time, finds his soul mate. Sophie happens to be the daughter of Marty, the previous diner owner. The diner was left to Sophie which is why she is in Treepoint. That’s when strange things happen around her and Jody reveals he is her soulmate.

Good addition to the Last Riders world.

Jamie is back!!!

Ok so the last couple of books have been disappointing tbh. Moon for example was a virtual different character in his book. Which I detest.

I love the colemans, firewalker was amazing and this is the same. I literally inhaled it. It just has you hooked from the start.

A few laugh out loud momets.

Writing is en point, characterisations perfection, story/plot utterly addictive.

Jbs best book in ages!!

I can't get enough. !

Jamie Begley can't do no wrong in my eyes .
I love and devour each and every book she writes. I get lost in the story and characters, and she has a way to make the reader feel a part of the story even long after finishing the book .
I love the supernatural element to the Coleman's, and I love how the Last Riders make an appearance as well. I can't wait for the next instalment of this magical series.

That was incredible! The Colemans always bring the🔥🔥. I loved reading about Jody and Sophie—she definitely kept him on his toes, and he fought fiercely for her love. It was fantastic to see Gavin, Ginny, and the Porters as well. Logan has grown so much! I can't wait for Silas's story—it's going to be absolutely stunning😍🔥🔥. Marty sure was caught up in some serious drama!

I have enjoyed and loved all this author’s(Jamie Begley) novels. I especially enjoy reading about the Coleman family and their heartbreak and spiritual gifts.
This time the book involves Jody and Sophie (soulmate) relationship.
The last riders members were included in this storyline’s that had many twists and turns. I highly recommend this series.

Another amazing book by Jamie. Sophie quickly moved to the top of my list for favorite women. I love that she doesn't put up with crap & tells it like she sees it. I wish we had more time for Sophie & Jody's story, but i appreciate what we got. Jamie never fails to provide the twists, turns & steam. I can't wait to see who she picks next.

Regretting His Actions

Jody thought he had at least a year until his soulmate showed up unfortunately Sophie is in Treepoint now and has reopened the diner not to mention having a front row seat to his manwhore ways. Thanks to his foolishness, Jody now has to convince Sophie is not the man he seems and protect her from her father’s enemies in this sweet and funny read.

Jody and Sophie’s story was a long time coming but didn’t disappoint.
Jody definitely was a player and only regretted being one after meeting his soulmate Sophie.
Sophie could spot a player a mile away since she’s been burned by a few.
I really liked that he had to work hard for Sophie’s trust and love. Nothing good ever comes easy.

Loved it💥💥💥💥💥💥

Jamie Begley never disappoints. This book was an awesome read. Very confusing for me to get through the first few pages but now I understand where she's going, it all makes sense. The people in this story from many books back have all become familiar. If you haven't read the last riders or any of her follow up books, do. You will enjoy the story even more.

I liked it. I was so confused because I never saw his gift but glad it was revealed at the end.
I liked her. He was a bit of an ass but grew on me. He needs to do a lot more groveling, imho.

Flynn seems like trouble if he already knows his SM is gone.
I am looking forward to Logan's book, one day.
