Thank you for allowing me to read this ARC copy! It was so entertaining and enjoyable. I was trying to figure out the storyline and never did! My emotions were everywhere while reading. I need just a wee bit more to the ending…unless a sequel is coming soon.

The characters are well developed & the tension builds perfectly until the very end, as Toni Larue leaves you wanting more.

This was a wild ride and I enjoyed every moment. I wasn’t sure how the hell he was going to pull this off but as the pages kept turning .. WHEW. The lengths people will go to for their own selfish gain.
This was a well written and very well paced novella. Toni was able to keep the tension going, keep the story interesting while still delivering us all the history we needed to get into the characters psyches. Though there were grotesque details, this wasn’t about shock value, the plot was GOOD & everything fell into place by the end.
The ending was unexpected for me, my intial thought was “you’ve got to be kidding me, no way” but … yes, yes way 😭

This book was so good and extremely disturbing! This is my first read by Toni but it will not be my last ! Toni kept me at the edge of my seat . I cannot wait to continue reading these novellas they are amazing !

Questionable morals
The characters in this story had questionable morals which made for an interesting read. Desperation made people do things they never expected. However, some had long embraced their dark side and used desperation as a cloak to express it. A good book that’s worth the read.

I enjoyed reading this thriller. There were some unexpected twists and it was obvious that Dallas was willing to do whatever it took to get what he wanted! It was also interesting to read how far Gemini was willing to go to keep Dallas in her life. There were a few parts of the story I felt were overdeveloped like parts about the detective’s life and some parts underdeveloped like with Dallas’ mother for example. Overall an enjoyable read and I’m looking forward to read the remainder of the series!

This book was such a thrill ride I found myself up until almost 1 am to finish the story not caring about work! The scenes described make you feel like you are in a movie and your heart is pounding as you turn the next page! The twist at the end is a sweet beautiful love story just in time for Valentine’s Day! the question i want to know is, how do these authors be coming up with these stories? it was disturbing, but it was also very good. i was a little confused at first, though the first 3 chapters, but once everything started to come together i was like “what the” Dallas had to do what he had to do, but at the same time i was like “man you’re going to get caught” the characters was well developed, and i loved how every chapter was so good that i couldn’t put it down. i can’t wait to finish this series, i already know it’s going to be good just like this one..but you will NEVER catch me on that damn dating app “a dime a dozen” i rather meet my lover IN PERSON😭 this might be one of the craziest thrillers i’ve read in AWHILEEE..i can’t believe Dallas did that to the victims, i know we might not get a part two..but i want to know if the detective solved the case or not, and i want to see what Gemini going to do with them next victim.. but with that being said, this was a good book and i recommend. this was my first book by this author, and it won’t be my last i’ll definitely check out my catalog.

Toni! Ms. Larue! Thank you so much for letting me be an ARC reader for book 1 in this series. Loved it! This was the perfect story, just in time for Valentine’s Day. What better way to show your love than with a weird love story, kind of, a little bit. But in a creepy way, creepy in a good way, the good kind of creepy. This book will keep you on your toes, wondering what’s next, thinking “where they do that at”, and it’s always the fine ones. This will have you thinking twice before you swipe left or right… just delete, block, throw the whole app away after reading this! Stay single!

A dating app, but make it the “black market”. When you are out of options and taking a life saves yours you get this chilling story. 😩
The amount of times I cussed, gasped and simply shook my head! I was literally on the EDGE of my seat the entire time!
Every time I felt like someone would get caught and Justice would be served? SIKE! This was a wild ride, a page turner and a good start to the series.
The things people will do to get what they need is WILD! I’m ready to dive into the others.
This was my first read by the author and I LOVED it!

Honey, the ending had me like “well damn i didn’t see that coming.” I truly thought i knew what was going to happen.
Dallas isn’t new to being a little sinister. So now that it comes to the matter of his health along with his career being jeopardize, he takes things in his own hands with ease. While others go on dating apps for a hook up or love, Dallas is stalking his way to keep his future intact. He won’t let anyone get in his way. You got to be more careful out there folks 🤣.
This a good balance of suspense/thriller to keep one guessing and thinking “oh hell naw!”

Good
I knew from the first two words of the prologue which is my favorite that I would be hooked! 😂 The story had so many twists and turns, it was crazy! 🤯 Nothing like a great experiment ending. In the words of Toni herself, "Don't ever trust a man who makes you drink alone." 😉 I highly recommend this book—you won't be disappointed!

Toni Larue, I am sat!!!
This is my first book from her and I am immediately a fan. She rights unhinged characters VERY WELL.
I was entertained by this short read from the plot to the characters to not knowing how it was going to end.

I received this book as an ARC and Toni didn’t disappoint. I read it in one sitting!! This was my first time reading one of her books. I enjoyed her writing style and the plot of the story was crazyyyyy. I was rooting for Gem and Dallas in a kinda sick and twisted way 🫣 I do wish there was more detail on Dallas and Megan as that piece felt a little rushed. But overall the story was very thorough and had great impact for such a short read.

This one was a wild ride! Dallas backstory was very sad, but that doesn’t excuse the depths he went to correct the effects of the debilitating disease that was taking his eyesight. Gemini’s camaraderie was…Something. A happy ending, in a sadistic way.

Really, REALLY liked it!!
I wouldn't be like Gemini, but at the same time I understand where she is coming from. It would've played out differently with me. Nonetheless, I enjoyed my first Toni Larue, she kept me on my toes and kept my cemented thought of no dating apps for me. Whew baby no. The connections make sense to me.

Wow!!! This was another thrilling horrific story of the repercussions of online dating. Seriously the assignment is clear and noted. In addition to norms of wanting to find a match in hopes it leads to true love happily ever after or… something to rub up against there are some who have more pressing objectives to find a match and you need to read this story to SEE what I’m talking about hahaha.

Ms Larue! What can I even say at this moment?!?! I received my ARC of this book, and my jaw hit the floor multiple times throughout this book! Let's start with Dallas he gave me the vibe of Micheal Ealy, who plays a crazy killer too well for me! Then Gemini, all I can say is that a woman has a strong resolve to help the man she always wanted even at the cost of killing another person for research! As for Mason, he had what was coming to him for being arrogant. Then, Momma Davenport ain't no fool honey she will do whatever it takes to protect her baby boy even if she has to play the role of the mother with dementia! This book was a chefs kiss!

This was my first Toni Larué read, and I honestly did not know what to expect. I expected horror and thrill, but honestly, I got so much more!
This was an extraordinary read. It was so good that I was able to read it all in just one sitting. Predictable, it was not. Think you have your morals, values, and principles in check, think again. The antagonist in this book had me questioning myself at every turn. I loved how the author wrote the characters. The characters were written with depth and layers. Everyone was flawed, complicated, messy; I would dare to say, morally grey. You as a reader are disgusted by their actions, but you can understand why they make the decisions they make. You ask yourself: “Would I do the same in this situation?” “The MMCs decent into madness, could this be me?” I loved that aspect of the story because we as humans, think we are so great, and good, but are we really? How far would you be willing to go when pushed to the edge and have no other way out? Would you sacrifice yourself, your future, for the one you love? How much does it take to turn an ordinary person into a monster?
I will not say too much because I do not want to spoil this must-read thriller, but the ending, MY GOODNESS! My mouth hit the floor. I was not expecting this ending. Though this read took me on a ride, had my heart beating, my brow sweating, and my pulse racing, I thought for sure I had the ending down pact. I thought I knew how this would end, and boy was I wrong…. and I LOVED IT! So unexpected, yet VERY satisfying!
I would 100% recommend this read. If you are stuck in rut, need something fast that will get your heart rate going; need some good old thrill, this one is for you. Want to read an unpredictable book with lots of twists and turns, but don’t want anything too grotesque or “scary,” this one is definitely for you! I think any, and all readers would enjoy 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐢𝐥𝐞.

How far would you be willing to go when pushed to the edge and have no other way out? Would you sacrifice yourself, your future, for the one you love? How much does it take to turn an ordinary person into a monster?
I will not say too much because I do not want to spoil this must-read thriller, but the ending, MY GOODNESS! My mouth hit the floor. I was not expecting this ending. Though this read took me on a ride, had my heart beating, my brow sweating, and my pulse racing, I thought for sure I had the ending down pact. I thought I knew how this would end, and boy was I wrong…. and I LOVED IT! So unexpected, yet VERY satisfying!
I would 100% recommend this read. If you are stuck in rut, need something fast that will get your heart rate going; need some good old thrill, this one is for you. Want to read an unpredictable book with lots of twists and turns, but don’t want anything too grotesque or “scary,” this one is definitely for you! I think any, and all readers would enjoy 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐢𝐥𝐞.
