3+ ⭐ as a whole
This is an anthology with a total of 6 short love stories. I thought it was a good idea to read this ARC around San Valentine's time, so here we are!
1 ❁ Stupid cupid by Luna Day
Nice depiction of Cupid, he seemed pretty hot. The story was mostly nice but I couldn't get involved because it was really too short (I suppose this will be the mantra for all the stories on this because the are 6 in 160 pages 😬).
If we leave the flavoured man and girl's bits and enlarge the rest this could transforme into a rally cool longer story.
2 ❁ The hand-off by Ellory Douglas
It was steamy and hot, with a somewhat sad ending (?). There were two men, I thought it might be a 3way story but... No. Is this actually meant to be part 1 of a longer story?!
3 ❁ Love ink by Marlee Ryan
Best friend's brother trope.
This one was actually really nice 🩷
Short, yes, but considering they've known each other all their lives it didn't leave me wondering if they at lest have exchanged names before 😆
4 ❁ All My Love by Mimi Gunn
Sweet story, less spice and more family ties.
I don't know if the authors have the possibility in mind, but I think this has so much potential as a 300+ pages book.
5 ❁ Skeleton Mds4a by Ivy Dawes
This was puzzling. The romance was ideally nice, but there wasn't enough. The story as a whole was really interesting and with a high potential to be some sort of romance magical mystery 🧐
6 ❁ Be Mine by Violet Pearce
Cute and hot. The moment I visualised him in my mind with his Viking aura I was gone.
It seems there is something for everyone in this book. The stories and couples are all so different! And I realised I would be up to read an extended version of... Practically all of them!

Overall, this was a fun collection of spicy short stories, each featuring unique characters with varying lengths and spice levels. Every story had a different trope, and they were all incredibly fun! These delightful, swoon-worthy stories were well-written and kept me hooked from start to finish.
It was also a great palate cleanser between other ARCs—I couldn’t help but fall in love with some of these characters! Honestly, I need full-length versions of some of these stories because I didn’t want them to end.
I had a great time!!!

Tropes: Small Town, Black Cat x Golden Retriever, Romantic Comedy, Hot Lumberjack Vibes
Description: Getting reacquainted with small-town life leads to something unexpected: the good kind of wiener.
My Thoughts: I liked this one, it was enjoyable and made me laugh plus who doesn’t love a good dog campion actually two dog companions.
I can’t choose a favourite out of these so I’m not going to, Each story was well written and brought something to the table, they all have a lot of potential to be something more and I would read full length books of each of these stories.

*ARC Review*
This was my first time picking up an Anthology, let alone a romance Anthology, and I loved it so much!
Luna Day did a fantastic job with Stupid Cupid. I loved that Cupid finally had Valentine’s Day work out in his favorite! It was super spicy and hot from the beginning!
Ellory Douglas really had me wanting to watch Rugby with The Hand-Off. Noah and Maisie almost had my talked into a fling until Griffin decided he was ready to take matters into his own hands and have Maisie for himself. Loved the Age gap and forced proximity!
Love Ink by Marlee Ryan was probably my favorite short story! I loved the best friends brother trope, the tattoo shop setting, him acting out and being jealous but admitting “it’s always been you!” I ate this story up!
All My Love by Mimi Gunn had me in my feelings the whole time! Julia’s Grammie was the sweetest, and funniest, even though she was passed away! I loved watching Julia and Harry’s relationship evolve. Harry was a real gentleman too!
Skeleton MDS4A by Ivy Dawes was the paranormal short in this anthology, and aside from the opener and the ending, it felt more like a rivals to lovers romance with a paranormal pull. The intro was a little confusing until the ending, but after that it all made sense.
Be Mine by Violet Pearce was a short snowy adventure! Mr. Man Bun, Aka, Frank really gave us that small town guy feel and showed Samantha how “neighbors help neighbors.” He was a cinnamon roll MMC and he loved dogs, what’s not to love!

I loved all the spice in these stories! Even Mimi’s story, which is labeled as a dog in the index left me warm because they all had the right amount of heat and the perfect amount of mutual pining, lusting after one another and sexual attraction without even having to touch! I loved all of it!

This short story felt like it was over just as it got started. It was fun learning that Cupid had a cinnamon flavored product, had glowing pink bits, and his bike was named Eros. Overall, there wasn't much substance to this story.

This was "just okay." I didn't really feel the chemistry or the jealousy enough to make me want to continue reading a full-length story.

1. Stupid Cupid by Luna Day - This one was a spicy romance story with a twist! A love story between a human and a mystical character, both of whom have lost hope in love, is just a starter pack for this book. It was quite interesting to read about glowing tattoos and what not (iykyk). Making love on the bike is yet another scene you might enjoy reading. This was a fast paced story.
2. The Hand Off by Ellory Douglas - This one was quite suspenseful. It had me wondering who the pair would include. But you know, there's surprise for everyone. As far as I could understand, it's also an age gap relationship. It's a sports romance, and I would love to read the extended version of it in future (if any), with more of Noah's point of view. The male character was the possessive and dominant type, whereas Maise was innocent, submissive and shy. It was all a teasing game before the action began.
3. Ink Love by Marlee Ryan - This was a workplace romance, with so much teasing oh my god! Lucas is the Greek god, tatted and built strong, who is possessive for dear Jade. Oh how I wish to see his tattoos, especially the tornado one! Jade is the confident one in this relationship, and the thing I like about her is that she takes stand for herself. Lastly, Maddy (aka Mads) is my favourite best friend! She's so understanding, and of course a saviour! Can we have a story for her as well? The writing style of this story is so easy to understand that you'll finish it in no time.
4. All My Love by Mimi Gunn - Well well, this was an emotional one! And also my favourite short story among all. Special mention goes to Grammie and her letters. She was sassy. This was a strangers to neighbours to lovers type of romance. The tension between Harry and Julia was well evident. It was a slow burn, and I loved how the story was paced. My interpretation makes Harry the nerdy one - cinnamon roll character, and Julia the overthinking one. And this makes them perfect for each other! This story particularly makes me want to explore by this author.
5. Skeleton MDS4A by Iwy Dawes - This was another workplace romance, but more like a Rivals to Lovers relationship. The storyline was magical - blooming romance in the middle of an archaeological site. This was slow in the beginning, and gained pace gradually. I would also like to appreciate the author for proper research, and presenting the terms in lame man language. I liked the ending too, it was quite interesting. This is another story whose extended version I would like to read, how the fmc and mmc met, their past, their present, and their future.
6. Be Mine by Violet Peace - Romancing in the woods? Hell yeah this story is all about that! I loved the banter between Samantha and the Man Bun guy. The way the mmc's physical features were defined (like his abs as a cheese grater) were so unique to read. To be honest, I thought Peter is sus, but that's just me and my mind racing to make a fake love triangle scenario (oops). The special characters like Samantha's gran (love her saying about the garden hahaha), and the cute little cuddly dogs added charm to the story. This too is my favourite among in this anthology.

As far as I could understand, it's also an age gap relationship. It's a sports romance, and I would love to read the extended version of it in future (if any), with more of Noah's point of view. The male character was the possessive and dominant type, whereas Maise was innocent, submissive and shy. It was all a teasing game before the action began.
3. Ink Love by Marlee Ryan - This was a workplace romance, with so much teasing oh my god! Lucas is the Greek god, tatted and built strong, who is possessive for dear Jade. Oh how I wish to see his tattoos, especially the tornado one! Jade is the confident one in this relationship, and the thing I like about her is that she takes stand for herself. Lastly, Maddy (aka Mads) is my favourite best friend! She's so understanding, and of course a saviour! Can we have a story for her as well? The writing style of this story is so easy to understand that you'll finish it in no time.
4. All My Love by Mimi Gunn - Well well, this was an emotional one! And also my favourite short story among all. Special mention goes to Grammie and her letters. She was sassy. This was a strangers to neighbours to lovers type of romance. The tension between Harry and Julia was well evident. It was a slow burn, and I loved how the story was paced. My interpretation makes Harry the nerdy one - cinnamon roll character, and Julia the overthinking one. And this makes them perfect for each other! This story particularly makes me want to explore by this author.
5. Skeleton MDS4A by Iwy Dawes - This was another workplace romance, but more like a Rivals to Lovers relationship. The storyline was magical - blooming romance in the middle of an archaeological site. This was slow in the beginning, and gained pace gradually. I would also like to appreciate the author for proper research, and presenting the terms in lame man language. I liked the ending too, it was quite interesting. This is another story whose extended version I would like to read, how the fmc and mmc met, their past, their present, and their future.
6. Be Mine by Violet Peace - Romancing in the woods? Hell yeah this story is all about that! I loved the banter between Samantha and the Man Bun guy. The way the mmc's physical features were defined (like his abs as a cheese grater) were so unique to read. To be honest, I thought Peter is sus, but that's just me and my mind racing to make a fake love triangle scenario (oops). The special characters like Samantha's gran (love her saying about the garden hahaha), and the cute little cuddly dogs added charm to the story. This too is my favourite among in this anthology.

This was such a different read to what I’m used to and I loved it! I often find myself pining for the steamy parts of romance novels and find they can take too long to get there and once they do it won’t be spicy enough. This was an epic collection of 6 stories that gave you the overall plot you would get from any romance novel but all of the steam and still the same depth of storytelling. It was one of the few times a book left me wanting to know more about what happens at the end of the story as opposed to wanting more from the character development, plots and individual scenes. I also found it amazing how at the beginning it rates the hotness/spice of each story with a brief overview.
1. Stupid Cupid: 3 stars. Wanted to know more about Cupid and found the plot lacking. Spice level was also around 3 stars for me.
2. The Hand-Off: 3.5 stars. Found the plot tried to go into too much detail than the length of the story allowed. Feel like the author should have added more spice and more rivalry between the two rugby players. Liked the twist of the plus sized love story and the one player secretly pining for the other but found it didn’t fit with the plot at all. Spice was 4.5 stars.
3. Love Ink: 4 stars. Plot was great, flowed really well and the hidden love between the main characters was introduced and developed to a greater depth that made it so easy for the reader to see their perspectives and allowed the tension to increase and made the sex scenes even better. Spice was 3.5 stars.
4. All My Love: 5 stars. Plot was perfectly balanced between the characters, backstory, setting, challenges and budding romance. Spice 4 stars.
5. Skeleton MDS4A: 4 stars. This was a really cool twist on what I’m used to reading within romance! Similar supernatural vibes as the Stupid Cupid story but more grounded in reality which I loved. Spice 3 stars.
6. Be Mine: 2 stars. Found the main character to be overly and unnecessarily rude? Blonde man bun guy was uncharacteristically nice in response to her rudeness. I’ve started to really enjoy short stories, and especially when they’re all piled into a little novella like this. Each and every author managed to hold their story together so well! They’re all written in a way that makes me feel like I jumped straight into a book I’d been reading for a while, it felt as if I knew the characters and got the right feelings to go along with the plots. Which usually takes me a while so I am amazed at how easy it was to do with these.

While not specifically listed Valentine’s day themed, it is releasing in time to get you in the mood for the holiday, with some stories taking place on V-day. There's likely one or more that any romance reader will enjoy any time of year.
Stupid Cupid- A fun Cupid-themed bar hookup set at midnight after Valentine’s Day. It’s spicy and to the point, with minimal plot but some enjoyable modernized myth elements mixed in.

The Hand Off-A sports romance with a love triangle involving a Canadian exchange student and a rugby team in a Downton Abbey-esque manor. Unfortunately, this wasn’t my genre, and the ending felt unfulfilling. Noah seemed unnecessary, and I was disappointed by his lack of inclusion.

All My Love -A granddaughter fixing up her grandmother’s house after she passes begins receiving notes from her. With a helpful neighbor, this had potential, but it missed the mark for me. I almost expected the MMC to be a serial killer, something felt off. The chemistry wasn’t there, the spice felt awkward, and the romantic dialogue came off as cringy.

Skeleton MDS4A-If you can overlook the improper handling of ancient artifacts, this is a fun story. Despite the title, it’s not Medusa-related but instead a workplace archaeological dig rivals-to-lovers romance. The story is captivating, with nice spice and intriguing paranormal elements.

Be Mine-A witty mountain man/cabin in woods romance with fun banter. The dialogue between the snarky FMC and cinnamon-roll MMC was the best part. While the plot was unoriginal, it was still enjoyable, with spicy moments that delivered. The epilogue style ending took place on Valentine’s day.
Spice: 4 | Plot: 3.25 | Writing: 4 | My Enjoyment: 4
These six stories combine a variety of romance genres and tropes, with common themes like Valentine’s Day, lock-and-key symbolism, tattoos, and grandparent loss. The lock-and-key motif is particularly fitting for love stories. The neon image page breaks were a nice touch, tying the stories together and adding foreshadowing through symbols connected to the cover images.
Trigger warnings would be helpful for readers with sensitivities. Some I noticed include loss of a parental figure, unbalanced power dynamics, mummified remains, and specific sexual triggers.

This is not my first anthology - I love being able to sample multiple authors’ work in short story form. Of the six authors included in this, I had previously read three of them - I was aware of the other three.
This was fantastic! Each story was unique in both premise and writing style… you want glowing cinnamon-flavoured cum? This book has you covered. You want some sexy rugby players? This book has you covered. You want a dirty hookup with a best friend’s brother in a closet? You guessed it - this book has you covered.
Two of the stories left me wanting so much more after those endings! I’m keeping my fingers crossed that we’ll hear about full-length versions coming soon! 🤞🏻

I really enjoyed this anthology, all the stories kept me engaged and wanting more. I would really enjoy all of these as novellas or full length novels which I think is a good sign of any book, anthology or not. 4.5 stars in total rounding up.
Stupid Cupid 4/5 stars
“You’re not wrong, this is too good to be anything other than fate”
First Cupid sounds hot AF so I was already here for this story from the beginning. I enjoy that it was a random meeting of fated mates. I am obsessed with the idea of glowing tattoos. They definitely didn’t waste anytime getting to know each other physically and I’m not mad about it. (The only thing that put me off is the name Alma, it feels like an old lady name because it was the name of my old lady babysitter when I was a kid)

Whoa! So Maisie is living the dream, in the UK, surrounded by big, fit and powerful rugby men and she has not one but two of them drooling over her! I would love more on Noah and Maisie but omg the way Griffin just takes her how he wants her had me absolutely sweating I was fanning myself vigorously reading this one. All I know is I need more of all three of these gorgeous characters wether they’re paired off or even better if all three are together *fanning myself again”

This one had me pretty giddy, as soon as Lucas asked Jade to lunch I was like “omg everyone shut up it’s happening!” Then to my surprise the supply closet happens after lunch and I almost fell off my chair. Also the flashback and his tattoo made me say “awe” out loud cause it was so cute! Also Maddy is such a good sister lol.

Okay so Julia and Harry are one of my favourite couples in the book. They are both little cinnamon rolls that need to be protected at all costs and I love them so much. Even though I know he said he was paid to help I feel like he probably didn’t take much from grammie and besides he didn’t have to go above and beyond like he did. Their love was so contagious it made me want to dance around my living room like the scene in the forest from sleeping beauty.

Okay this one was wild! First off it’s bonkers bananas that there was so much tension between Amelia and Ian, like you could cut it with a knife and I was here for it every step of the way, I will say this was the most frustrating story because I kept yelling at the book and telling them both to stop touching things, even if it is their job, and to put things back. Also this one ends on such a cliffhanger I simply must have the whole story or at least the next part or I might go mad.

I love Charlie because I am obsessed with basset hounds and he was clearly the little mastermind behind this whole set-up. I love Rick because of his name and how Samantha describes him as being scary but he’s a giant softy baby. I adore Frank because even though he’s an absolute cinnamon roll he also knows how to command intimate situations in a way that would make you drool as your eyes roll back in your head and then praise you and cuddle you and make you a tea afterwards. Samantha on the other hand I could easily live without she was a little too rude for my liking. In the end though she seems better clearly she just needed her reset button hit and Frank was able to do that.

“You’re not wrong, this is too good to be anything other than fate”
First Cupid sounds hot AF so I was already here for this story from the beginning. I enjoy that it was a random meeting of fated mates. I am obsessed with the idea of glowing tattoos. They definitely didn’t waste anytime getting to know each other physically and I’m not mad about it. (The only thing that put me off is the name Alma, it feels like an old lady name because it was the name of my old lady babysitter when I was a kid)

Whoa! So Maisie is living the dream, in the UK, surrounded by big, fit and powerful rugby men and she has not one but two of them drooling over her! I would love more on Noah and Maisie but omg the way Griffin just takes her how he wants her had me absolutely sweating I was fanning myself vigorously reading this one. All I know is I need more of all three of these gorgeous characters wether they’re paired off or even better if all three are together *fanning myself again”

This one had me pretty giddy, as soon as Lucas asked Jade to lunch I was like “omg everyone shut up it’s happening!” Then to my surprise the supply closet happens after lunch and I almost fell off my chair. Also the flashback and his tattoo made me say “awe” out loud cause it was so cute! Also Maddy is such a good sister lol.

This book gets ALL the superlatives from me, because it was so much fun. There wasn't a single story in this collection where I didn't get to the end and think "Wait, that's it? No!" and immediately resolve to go check out the authors to see what books they've published. So that I've been gushing like the fangirl I am, let's look at each of the stories.
STUPID CUPID by Luna Day: This really kicks off the series, and I was on board straight away. A disenfranchised Cupid sighing over his beer in a bar on Valentine's Day because apps are ruining his career. Then he realises he's sitting next to a woman who, against all the odds, can see him, and curiosity turns to fascination turns to a very spicy hookup and a sentient motorcycle. What's not to love?
THE HAND OFF by Ellory Douglas: Maisie is a Canadian sports medicine placement at a UK football sports clinic/school. Griffin is an older player who is hiding his injury because he doesn't want anyone to think he's aging out of the game. Then there's Noah, another staff/team member who ... might be interested in them both? Hmm.
LOVE INK by Marlee Ryan: Jade has opened a tattoo parlour with her best friend Maddy, and Maddy's brother Lucas. Jade and Lucas squabble all the time, and you know what that means, right? Who knew getting locked in a cleaning cupboard/storeroom could be such a revelation?
ALL MY LOVE by Mimi Gunn: This one is sweet. Julia has inherited her Grandmother's house, and so travels back to the small town to renovate and sell. The money from the sale will give her the funds to buy something in the city, because she's a career woman. But then the small town effect kicks in. All the locals know her, there's a series of notes from her Grandmother while the renovations continue, and then there's the "He's single!" neighbour, Frank. Ah, Frank. Ever helpful, ever hunky, nice forearms, Frank. Done deal. Love it.
SKELETON MDS4A by Ivy Dawes: Oh this one was interesting, a story that's archaeological with a bit of paranormal/supernatural and love/hate colleagues. There's a discovery of two sarcophagi, one with a lock, one with a key, and one of the occupants can sense that change is coming. Are the two archaeologists channelling the occupants? Mysterious forces are afoot, and this one ends on a cliffhanger. If there isn't some sort of novella built around this one I'm going to have to find the author and hit her up with a "please explain?"
BE MINE by Violet Pearce: Okay this one had me snickering when I was on the bus heading to work. No regrets. There are some real zinger lines in this one and the dialogue - both inner and between the characters - was a delight from start to finish. I mean, there's this line "He looks like Charlie Hunnam and a Viking gave birth to a national surfing champion". Gold.
Each of these stories has a deft touch and writing style that I adored. The characters are all fully formed with an economy of words that somehow never feels stingy. They're all so vibrant that they jump off the page, and the spice is ... well a girl can dream, right? I should be so lucky. The pacing was well done, to the point where I wanted more for every story in this series, but I'm also happy to leave them where they are. Sometimes it's nice to finish on a possibility rather than taking it too far.
Great fun all round. Read it, love it, you're welcome.

💜Stupid Cupid by Luna Day: Short and sweet and sexy! Luna is great at short stories (and full length ones- Three Hearts Hideaway is in my top 10 for 2024!). This was just enough to make me care about the characters, but not too much that I needed more- I do want more, but I wasn't left feeling like it left me hanging. Also, the *special jizz* IYKYK! ;)
Favorite quote: “Forgive me, but wouldnt it be your fault if Valentine’s Day sucked?”
💜The Hand Off by Ellory Douglas: The way this author writes curvy girls is perfection! The story was cute, and the kinesiology aspect was up my alley, but I wanted to know more!!!!! What about Noah? Please turn this into a full length novella!

💜Love Ink by Marlee Ryan: I love it when a romance story is a bit predictable... like, we knew Lucas wanted to ask her out- and it was so cute that his sister was in on it - but the way they got there was both cute and funny! This book also made me want a new tattoo... maybe for Valentine’s Day?!

💜All My Love by Mimi Gunn: Home renovations are the worst- and who picks white paint, Grammie was right to leave that note at the paint store before she died! And also- what a wingwoman, even from beyond! I liked that they didn't just jump into bed and the ending for this one - it felt complete even though it was short.
Favorite quote: “She was a hot mess cuddling a stranger, and for some reason, Harry didnt seem to mind.”
💜 Skeleton MDS4A by Ivy Dawes: Stories featuring scientists are hard for me given my profession, however I am not an anthropologist and (thankfully) this one did not feature a student/supervisor relationship. I also appreciated how the FMC was the one who made the first move. I really liked the intro to this book - it set the mood, but I also kind of wanted (dare I say, expected) some paranormal mummy sex.

My first anthology!! Fun book! If you are looking for something easy and quick to read with romance and spice here is this cute read with 6 different stores written by 6 different authors. I enjoyed a lot of these! I have only read 2 of the 6 authors before and it was great to be able to discover new authors ! I rate this 3.5-4 stars overall!

Stupid Cupid: I loved the idea of this story, Cupid finding his soulmate , it was something different and unique. The spicy scene was spicy , but the cinnamon glowing cum just through it off for me personally.

All My Love: This one was my absolute favourite of them all! I loved this one so much, it was so heartfelt and emotional for me. I actually ended up crying..thinking of the memories baking with my grandma ( I will miss these moments when it’s her time). I loved the letters, I found that so special. Harry was such a golden retriever and a caring soul. I felt like this one actually had a great story line that had everything we needed and wasn’t as fast as the others. The neighbour , the date , the romance … ugh!! Also, I felt this one had an ending that satisfied me. The spice in this one was more “gentle” if that makes sense.

It’s always tricky to critique short story compilations since each author brings their own unique style, but that worked in my favor here! Every story gave me exactly what I needed. My only complaint? That it’s over! I loved the variety and how each story felt fresh and different.

I have never read an anthology before, so this was my first. Each story was so different and I love that there's something for everybody in here! The contents section at the beginning was really neat. It gave a spice rating and list of tropes for each story, so you can pick and choose based on what you're feeling.

I really enjoyed this one. The flashback gave us a deeper look into their relationship which I really liked.

This was cute and sweet. I loved the little notes her grandmother left for her. This story brought up a lot of emotions as she navigated the loss of a loved one, but her grandmother made sure she wasn't alone.

Okay, I am always up for a good paranormal story, so this was great. Again, I'm hoping for a full length novel because I want to know more!

I am a sucker for the black cat fmc x golden retriever mmc trope and I will never get enough of it. Samantha had me laughing, especially her inner thoughts.
Overall, I really enjoyed these and have found some new authors to check out! If you're looking for something short and sweet (or short and spicy) then give these a try. They would also make for good Valentine's Day reading.

Cupid who normally can't be seen by humans, meets Alma, who not only can see him, but likes what she sees. This story made me wish for more! I would love to read an extended version of it!

Right off the bat, I loved the contents section where it laid out the stories. Each one is presented with the title, three categories (ex: small town, paranormal, age gap, fated mates, etc), and given a spice level.overall it!! It’s such an inventive way to let the reader know what to expect. Can more authors do this?!
Individual Reviews:
Stupid Cupid: (5 stars) Oh good lord is it hot in here. For such a short story man is there some spice. I’ll never look at Cupid the same way again. It was such a cute (and hot) short story. I really enjoyed it.
The hand-off: (3 stars) I found this one interesting because it was a different spin on a sports romance. I didn’t like it too much because it was very open ended at the end and I didn’t quite get why we had Noah’s POV. That should have been left out.
Love Ink: (4 stars) The fact we got a backstory and a flashback in this one made me really like it but I actually wanted more! Still a great story.
All My Love: (2.5 stars) This one wasn’t my favorite. I like how there was a main conflict that the two leads had to work through to be together. I just didn’t enjoy it as much.
Skeleton: (1 stars) I’ll be honest with this one…I just didn’t get it. It started off super interesting with the archeological dig and discovering the skeletons. The chemistry between the leads made no sense. I don’t understand the FMC’s desire to unite the keys. Who opened the male’s sarcophagus at the end? The female skeleton? What happens after? It was labeled paranormal but it was just strange.
Be Mine: (4 stars). I’ll just say this: it’s always the golden retriever boys who are the dirtiest in bed. This was a great short story. I thought it covered everything and I was left happy with how it turned out. However, I never want to hear “lady garden” again lol.
Overall I loved this short story collection. If you’re looking for a way to pass a lazy afternoon, a chilly blizzard, or a light thunderstorm, check this one out.

*Sigh* This is exactly what I needed on a low-key Sunday afternoon!
Love Between the Lines is a collection of six short stories. All six of these authors are relatively new to me, and I love this as a way to get to know them better. Here are the vibes and my thoughts on each.
Stupid Cupid by Luna Day: Cupid!!! Cupid walks into a bar...sounds like the start to a terrible joke, or a really hot short story. I have never been a Valentine's Day girl, until now. Where do I find me a Cupid?!
The Hand Off by Ellory Douglas: Hot! A curvy athletic therapist, a rugged rugby player, sold. Add in a second rugby player looking to get in on the action. It was hot, and I needed more. I need a happy ending as much as Noah does!
Love Ink by Marlee Ryan: Who doesn’t love a little pining? Two tattoo artists, best friend's brother, friends to lovers. Who will make the first move? I am actually obsessed with tattoo artists. I have seen every episode of Ink Master at least 5 times. Needless to say, I loved this.
All My Love by Mimi Gunn: So sweet! After the passing of her grandmother, Julia inherits her home, which needs a remodel. Enter the handyman across the street who is more than happy to help her in anyway she needs. This one had all the feels.
Skeleton MDS4A by Ivy Dawes: Who doesn't love a little enemies to lovers? Especially one with a paranormal twist. In Scotland on a dig, two rival anthropologists make an exciting discovery. Learning to trust one another may lead to more than they ever expected.
Be Mine by Violet Pearce: This was your usual suspects. Corporate city girl, burly shirtless Viking with a man bun. Small town setting, power goes out. Throw in some cute dogs, and The Mummy references. What more could you want!?
These stories were short and sweet. Perfect when you need a bit of spice to get through the day....or night. Really enjoyed this.

Stupid Cupid - Holy spice! No slow burn for this one; it dives right in! I enjoyed the banter, but some of it was a little cheesy. Very fast-paced story.
The Hand Off - Ellory Douglas was very descriptive in all aspects of writing, so it made imagining what was happening or where they were at easy. A slow burn, but spicy when it gets there! I would love this story as a full book to learn more about their backstories, see how things progress, and see what happens with Noah.
Love Ink - This one was a friends/coworkers-to-lovers short story. I enjoy histories where characters always had crushes on each other but never acted on their feelings. There are a couple of whitty lines and some workplace spice. I loved the nudge from the best friend because it is something I could totally see happening. The flashback really threw me for a minute and I had to stop and think about what was going on.
All My Love - This story was my favorite of the anthology. It's a classic slow-burn, small-town romance with some spice. I would love for this to become a full book. The cute and snarky little notes in this one definitely made me giggle. If “Grammie” was real, I would get along with her.
Skeleton MDS4A - The very first excerpt from this story gives a sense of foreboding that doesn’t really make sense until the end. The story is a mix of paranormal and work rivals-to-lovers, but feels like it should be two completely different stories. I wasn’t a huge fan of this one as a short story, but I think it has potential as a longer story to see how it all comes together.
Be Mine - Such a cute small-town romance with a MMC who gives off major “golden retriever” energy. The dialogue between the FMC and MMC was quirky but funny. It goes from a sweet little romance to spicy quickly. The little section at the end helped to “wrap up” the story, but I would enjoy a longer version of this one as well.

"Love Between the Lines" offers a quick, spicy escape into the world of short, steamy stories that range from sweet to scorching, making it the perfect bite-sized read for those craving some lighthearted fun. This collection features six vignettes, each centering around a different set of characters, with themes of love, attraction, and lust. Whether it's a burnt-out Cupid finding his human soulmate, two rugby players vying for the attention of their athletic therapist, or even a small-town romance with an unexpected twist, these stories bring the heat in a big way.
The best part? The book is quick to read, taking only about two hours to finish—perfect for those days when you’re looking for a short escape. Each vignette is fast-paced, with the action taking center stage over the slow buildup of romance. The stories are fun, spicy, and, above all, satisfyingly direct. If you're just looking for something to get you in the mood for a little excitement, "Love Between the Lines" definitely delivers.
However, my main issue with the book was its predictability. The sex scenes, while hot, started to feel a bit repetitive after a while. With each story, the rhythm of the encounters was nearly the same, and while they certainly served their purpose, I couldn't help but wish for a little more variety in the emotional and physical dynamics between the characters. It almost felt as though, once you’ve read one, you’ve kind of read them all—especially since all the stories follow the same heterosexual formula.
That being said, if you’re looking for something quick and steamy, this book gets the job done. It’s not a deep dive into romance or character development, but it doesn’t pretend to be. It's six stories of love, lust, and steamy encounters that will definitely make you swoon—and if you’re okay with the fact that they all start to feel a bit similar toward the end, "Love Between the Lines" is a fun, no-frills read.

Maisie is plus sized and so smart, hot and strong. Griffin is our old gruff old man who I'm expecting a bi-awakening from soon. And Noah is our cocky, young player who has the hots for both of them. This one has so many good tropes and I'll definitely be following Ellory for when this whole story releases.
