Blazingly handsome firefighter Joey Brackett seems to have it all: a heroic career, a cabin in the small mountain town of Blue Lake, and the freedom to fly the skies in his fixed-wing plane. Beneath the surface though, he hides a painful secret. His eldest sibling died in a house fire on a night when Joey called in sick to go flying. For the last ten years, he’s struggled to recapture the sense of family he lost.

New York Times and USA Today best-selling author Kristin Miller writes sweet and sassy contemporary romance, romantic suspense, and paranormal romance of all varieties. Kristin has degrees in psychology, English, and education, and taught high school and middle school English before crossing over to a career in writing. She lives in Northern California with her alpha male husband and their two children. She loves chocolate way more than she should and the gym less. You can usually find her in the corner of a coffee shop, laptop in front of her and mocha in hand, using the guests around her as fuel for her next book.
The premise of the story was okay but the story itself felt rushed. I wasn't too impressed with the development of their relationship. It probably would of been a bit better if the story had been longer and given them time to fall in love and overcome obstacles.
This was a cute, quick read. I would defintiely give the other books by this author a shot if they went on sale or for free like this one did. Joey and Lucy's story was sweet. Even though the book was short I didn't feel like them getting together was unrealistic.
A short but enjoyable read. The two main characters had known each other for years, so when they finally got together it didn't seem unrealistic at all. I was surprised that the story didn't feel rushed, as I usually find that with shorter books. Would read others in the series even though they are stand alone stories.
I read this a long time ago and never did review it. I will add more when it come up on my reread list. I really liked the story and the H and h were a unique couple that I enjoyed.
You people should just read this book yourselves and write your own review on this novel yourself and I really enjoyed reading this book very much so. Shelley MA
This is the perfect sweet, sexy read to curl up with on a rainy day.
Joey is the hot, single firefighter who is looking for the right woman to settle down with, get married and have babies together. His identical twin brother Dane is the opposite, he loves hooking up with beautiful girls and living in the moment, no life commitments for him.
Lucy Stone used to go to school with these two and she is now running the family winery business after her parents passed away. She has always been interested in Dane and after winning a date with Joey at a fundraising auction, she asks him to help her to get Dane to ask her out.
Lucy is very committed to her business and has no time for a relationship either, Dane could the perfect solution to satisfying her other needs.
Is she making the right choice though, she could be choosing the wrong brother and missing out on something special with the other one.....
Let Me Love You is an exceptional read. For a book to be so short I felt that there was a lot that happened. Also there wasn't that awkward "oh so they're in love now" moment. The relationship was a development but it also helped that the characters new each other already. However I think I like the beginning of the book better than the ending. Lucy's behavior was waaaaaaay more humorous and so was Joey's interest. The whole cave scene... yeah. Wish there was more on Dane even if it wasn't a romance. He's quite a character.
Let Me Love You is what Joey Brackett asks of Lacy Stone. It isn't easy to get Lacy to agree when she thinks that finding one guy to be with the rest of her life is not for her. Her friend purchases a date for Lacy with Joey at a local charity auction and from the first date Lucy finds Joey harder and harder to resist.
Romance, forest fires, pressure of owning her business and the pull of the hottest man she has ever encounter makes Let Me Love You an exceptionally great story of how love and understanding can change the course of a life or two.
part of a series but I think it could be read as a stand alone. I read book 3 previously. Joey Brackett is a firefighter with an identical twin brother Dane. Joey is dependable, Dane is the bad boy. Joey used to love to fly until his older brother dies in a house fire when he was off flying. Lucy lost both parents leaving her in charge of their winery, she just wants to have fun no ties to any man. After Lucy and Joey share a kiss they fight their feelings for each other. Cute read.
I love cute fluffy romances! And while I applaud the independent I-am-my-own-woman mentality, this chick just came off as bitchy and slutty. Of course, as the book goes on, you like her more. And you love Joey the whole damn book. Love the romance novels. While they do not depict real life, they make us dream of how things could be.
Lucy is a one date, fun time girl. Joey is a forever kind of guy. When Lucy's friend buys her a date at the fireman auction, Lucy uses the time to find out about Joey's twin brother who is also a one date, fun time guy. Things go haywire when it's date time and soon Lucy is having confusing feelings and thoughts.
Adventure, getting over issues, and love. This story did have sexual situations.
Short but sweet this was a quick, easy romance to read. The female lead, Lucy, was a bit annoying to me early on but by the end of the book I liked her character. The formula of quick to fall in love like most short romances was followed but it had a satisfying finish.
Couldn't put this down. Lucy and Joey are so much fun to read about. You can read as a stand alone book even though it is parr of a series. I have enjoyed reading every book in Blue Lake. Give the town a try and you will fall in love.
Lucy is probably my favorite heroine in this series. She's headstrong and quirky, but also smart. Joey is the quintessential hot fireman, all around hero. They end up bringing out the best in each other unexpectedly. Great romance.
2.5 ★ This was a quick, easy read. However, there was just something off in the dialogue or the narrative. Not sure which at this point. But it was an okay romance set in a small town.
A great quick read with characters who have depth and a story that for once isnt filled with murder or mayhem. Would definitely read more from this author
Sweet and easy read. I have not read any others in this series. I found myself skimming when things got boring...there just wasn't that spark to keep me totally attached.
