Sterek This is the story of werewolf Derek Hale and human Stiles Stilinski: two people who grew up in the same town but completely different worlds, their realities split by the war between men and wolves.
Years later when Derek returns to Beacon Hills, he does it as Alpha of a military pack on a mission to capture those responsible for the region’s resistance. With his main objective, Sheriff Stilinski, out of sight, he settles for the next best thing: his son, Stiles.
Neither of them suspects they’ll need to trust each other if they want to make it out this alive. Art credit: http://lupusululaturusest.tumblr.com/... Words:149179 complete
This is an AU. There's a civil war between wolves and humans, and battle lines have well and truly been drawn. Stiles gets kidnapped by wolves.
This was really well written, and long for a fic - it's about 150 000 words. I really liked the way it took existing canon, including the occasional lines from the show, and worked it into the AU. Really so well done, and the world-building is great in this. The story moves from Beacon Hills, to Chicago, to a militia camp, to lots of different locations without ever losing focus.
I really enjoyed the portrayal of both Derek and Stiles here, and all the minor characters.
This is a book that, copyright issues aside, could easily be publishable.
Hard to review this. I nearly gave up around 20% but I persevered and it improved. Lots of typos despite having 3 beta readers. Some cracking love scenes between Stiles and Derek. Initial plot premise a bit ropey. Far too long. Oh what the hell - 4 stars! Art by pariahsdream 'Stiles wants to laugh. This is strangely romantic. Plotting together to kill the people that ruined their lives. Very Tarantino. Kind of badass in a way that makes him feel exhilarated. He flops back on the bed, hands behind his head as Derek moves with his, resting his head in Stiles’ chest. Stiles is starting to suspect Derek is a big cuddler, and he loves it.'
This was pretty good. It's a rough ride at times. People die. But there are a lot of feels and a bit of smut but you have to wait for it!
A well thought out and thorough story with good pacing but there's a fair number of grammar errors and typos and incorrect words if that makes you crazy.
The beginning was rough; there was a lot of telling to set up an AU that diverges from the TWverse we know, and info repeated - info that could have been woven into the story as it developed rather than in a dump...
BUT OMG, once we get past that it was really gripping!
THIS is sterek as it should be! Possessive, raw, alpha male trial-by-combat love and bonding. This book was an action-packed ride! It could easily be published if it weren't for copywriting issues.
I loved that this was an action-packed bromance. Derek and Stiles are coming to discover their feelings for each other in such a natural and genuine way! (As opposed to insta-love -_-)
This book is fuh-mazing. Derek is a dream boat; something about his emotional constipation and raw alpha male-ness just drives me crazy in all the right ways. The book was a testosterone fueled adventure and love fest. The smex is ridiculously smexy and who'd have known how hawt marking/scenting would be!? And the feels? My word, the feels...
There is a moment of insecurity in stiles that bothered me a little. But ya know... That's just stiles.
I will for sure be re-reading. Thank you qhuinn! I really appreciated this work.
As a non-watcher of the show, I liked this story. The characters were well-balanced and coherent. They were quite numerous though and I sometimes had a hard time keeping track of who was who. The writing was pleasant and the plot moved along at a good pace.
Simply amazing. I loved that each monumental moment in TW was actually put in this book somewhere. Including the death of Boyd and Erica, which I would have loved if they lived but the moment was powerful. I could not put this book down and read it in one setting. I loved Stiles love for his dad, and the first moment of seeing Scott again (cracked me up), how he connected with Issac, and how he loved Derek when Derek needed him. Derek was so hard in the beginning but you could see the difference Stiles made in his life.
I wasn't particularly fond of the way of writing of the author. But for some reason, I kept on reading.
There were times when I thought it was dragging and the author could've cut some of the parts especially in the first few parts where Stiles was in the Den in Chicago. And times where I had to just stop and reread a few lines because it was confusing and wasn't making much sense. And the cheesy way of The Hunger Games-resque idea of the spark and rebellion.
I found the story nice and I liked the idea of the fic itself. How sweet Stiles's and how much of a toughie Derek is but he's cuddler on the inside. And lastly, how the author incorporated some Teen Wolf scenes which at first, I didn't like but in the long run it started to grow on me seeing how clever it was of the author to put these little things in the fic.
All in all I give this 3.5 stars If you like dystiopian novels you might, just might fancy this fic and the fluffy scenes between Stiles and Derek is enough to get you through this fic.
P.S If you like Smut scenes there's a lot of it here,so yeah, if not just skip it (>////<)b
Fanfiction- Teen Wolf - Sterek Enemy Lines Qhuinn http://archiveofourown.org/works/47005 It seemed like it took me forever to finish this book (4 or 5 days, which for me is forever) but freaking life just kept interrupting (for some reason my hubby and kids still wanted to eat and wear clean clothes-the nerve!). But besides life interrupting my reading, Derek's emotions (yes, he does have emotions) were sometimes so heavy I just had to break away and hit something ridiculously light (see Bigger, Longer and Uncut by drunktuesdays http://download.archiveofourown.org/w... or The Perils of Fungi by the_deep_magic http://download.archiveofourown.org/w..., both so wrong in such funny ways, perfect cleanses of the reading palette when things get just too damn much). This is the first fanfic I've read by Qhuinn but I was really impressed with the writing. I'll be checking out more ASAP.
