Jay Korza's first book, (Extinction: "Return Of The Warriors ") had everything a true science fiction fan craves..!
A mind expanding intergalactic adventure with a cast of well defined characters attempting to solve a millennium old mystery while bravely fighting against multitudes of genetically enhanced Warrior's to save an unprepared universe from being enslaved or destroyed!
The only thing missing from his brilliantly presented first novel, (was) an ending!
Thankfully, Mr Korza has rewarded his readers with a most satisfying conclusion.. in his sequel!
Extinction: The Will Of The Protectors"
Although this book is undeniably a sequel, it is written so brilliantly, it could stand-alone & be enjoyed and understood, even if the reader missed book one.
The characters are very real & endearing.. They act, & interact in a fashion of familiarity that makes you feel as if you were a part of their team, (or pack) depending on your species! And if you haven't read book one, or you've read 90 books since.. You will not be left behind.
Korza uses an ingenious way to reintroduce the main characters, by taking advantage of e-books "short-cut" utility!
Readers can "click" on a highlighted character, read their biography, & return to the same place, never losing pace with the story.
Most importantly, Mr Korza has presented us with something that many writers -today- are unwilling, (or unable) to deliver.. "A good ending!"
Ever since Asimov introduced his "Foundation Trilogy," TOO MANY sci-fi author's apply the "cliff-hanger" .. ad nauseum!
However,
Jay Korza KNEW what his reader's wanted, (because he ASKED THEM!)
Then, delivered a conclusion that was so uplifting and rewarding, it leaves this faithful reader with only one question..?
"When can we expect the NEXT thrilling adventure from Jay Korza?

Overcoming adversity
The title of this review is the underlying principle in the book. There are many issues and plots and subplots here but all in all the story moves in good sci-fi pace and keeps the reader entertained in good fashion. Definitely worth a read if you like adventuresome science fiction. Some love themes and honor ideas get infused as well.
