Peak masculinity 😋

I feel like this novel completely demonstrated my displeasure with a sexually masochistic ML. It's a shame because I love power dynamics and a yandere black-bellied ML, but I really can't stomach their bedroom dynamic. I also find the writing very bland and toneless.

It's not a comedy because there's no comedic tone in the scenes, but rather frustration and embarrassment for the FL. It's not a drama because there's no central conflict or dramatic persona in the FL's dysfunctional relationships with her family and the ML; just a feeling of inconvenience and acceptance, with a lot of irritation.

It's not an erotic story, even with the use of BDSM in the couple's dynamic, as there's no sexual tension or many sex scenes. The sexual dynamic is also slow to develop as a plot and even quick in the sex scenes. The focus seems to be more on a fetish fantasy than on a genuinely fetishistic couple with a sexual dynamic that influences their relationship.

I also don't sense any psychological undertones in the story that explain the ML's troubled personality; his dangerous side only appears in a vague and obscured way from the FL's point of view. I even think that the FL's point of view was a questionable narrative choice; there was a lot of potential for psychological depth with different points of view that would show how limited the FL's view of the ML is.

I feel there was a lot of potential here that was wasted due to the writer's lack of skill. A dark romance writer would definitely have gotten more out of the story and its eroticism. (I feel like the manhwa brought more narrative appeal to the story and gave it a more defined tone.)

Femdom manhwa?!?!?! Who knew that such perfection existed in this world? Historical femdom at that🤯?and it's uncensored.... Good Lord! Absolutely loved their scenes and watching Courtney grow into the dom that she was always meant to be. The plot, as well as the pacing, ain't bad either, so it's not just about the smut. I'll let this marinate for a couple of months before continuing✌🏾😊
