Reading about David's life is always a great joy!

I thoroughly understand this as a work of fiction. I often went back to God's unchanging Word to make sure I know the difference. I was particularly moved by the description of the Love (true agape) between David and Jonathan! Such a wonderful description of Yeshua's love for us!

wonderful

Although the story of David has been known to me since childhood, this man ,Eyal Cohen, has retold it in a new way. Now I can understand why David was a man after God’s own heart.

Biblical History Brought to Life...

Eyal Cohen's "The Kingdom of David" revitalizes one of history's most enduring biblical narratives. The author illustrates David's remarkable transformation from shepherd to the king of Israel with vivid detail and profound emotional depth. Cohen depicts David as a divinely appointed monarch and a flawed individual, illustrating how his choices and actions influenced not just his personal fate but also the future of a whole nation.

The book succeeds in making an old story understandable to current readers while retaining its historical significance. Cohen's clear style sheds light on both the political and spiritual aspects of David's reign, particularly his pivotal role in uniting Israel's twelve tribes. This scholarly retelling provides readers with a meaningful balance of historical understanding and spiritual reflection, resulting in an entertaining piece of biblical historical fiction. Highly recommended. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
