Good overview of the topics handled by the old 70-486 exam. The exam did receive an update to VS2013 in which multiple topics are added. So be sure to check those out as well when studying for this exam.
Really Good book helped me to pass the exam. This book starts from the very basics and goes deep into the next chapters. The book is a great guide for the beginners in the ASP.NET MVC. You can build a fully functional site with it. And what ever you need from the UI to security to deploying the application is there.
The ASP.NET MVC is a very good framework to build sites. It has many advantages and using it with Entity Framework make your job easier and fun. This book will guide through it and it can help you pass the exam at the same time.
Such an amazing brief version of end-to-end Web Applications development and integration. Though, it is little hard to grasp and understanding everything, due to way too much information, but if you refer and read detailed version from outside sources, then it becomes really interesting. To the point book!!
This book does not teach you ASP.NET MVC. It is a bag of various subjects and is clearly written by a number of writers that use different approaches in teaching content. In my opinion, 75% of its content is not related to ASP.NET MVC but to .NET in general or ASP.NET. The MVC content is very thin.
This book is simply too short to cover much of the study material. I recommend using online study guides / resources and Apress's book "Pro MVC 5" book.
