3.50🐺 *don’t know why my review was removed*

Soooo Raquel Raelynn just took my Alpha x Omega virginity and I don’t regret it!

This read was enjoyable and smooth, finished in 6 hours with some breaks!

’If Seiban keeps worshipping me like this, I might just start my own religion.’
I KNOW THATS FUCKING RIGHT cause REAL!

I think my only dislikes was the punishment with the betas using her and them being too involved with the sex as they’re depicted to be a family. Is that like normal in these stories? If so, it was still kinda ‘eeee😬’

And my immersion was briefly broken with the use of wrong pov name in chapter 15

’She works her fingers through the knots on my head, and I lean back, relaxing as I let Seiban play in my hair.’
ughh, a black girls dream in a partner. I LIVE for the soft shit

Departing Thoughts
- Also what was with that wolf at the beginning that offed himself?

- Wish we seen life with them and their ‘pups’ and life in the new house and the dynamics now that Angel is in known and around :/

- "I think we got off on the wrong foot," he says calmly. "I'm Klaus."
Why the big bad gotta be named after my TVD man!

I really enjoyed the beginning of this book and the selective mutism. Misoa was an interesting character, and had a growth arc that I enjoyed. That being said, there were several instances where the main character suddenly knew something without being told it and some minor plot points were off.

Spice: 5/5

Triggers: child abuse, abuse, adoption trauma including displacement from culture, racism, slut shaming, stalking, violence, gore, death, kidnapping, threat of SA, sexual harassment, sexism, discussion of murder, ableism, religious trauma, threat of drowning, fall from height, PTSD symptoms

I backed this Kickstarter and received my digital copy prior to publication. I enjoyed this book quite a bit, although it wasn’t perfect.

The good: sapphic shifter omegaverse is a win for me. I also really liked this particular iteration of an omegaverse. I really liked Misoa and Seiban as characters and their chemistry was convincing.

The not so good: I would have liked more world building. More history of the families and their relationship and the dynamics between the different werewolf groups would have made the conflict more meaningful. I would have liked to have had more backstory between Seiban and her pack and I wish Seiban had had more of a growth arc as a character. I also found Misoa’s nearly instant acceptance of both the omegaverse shifter world and that Seiban was her mate unrealistic. This could have been perfect with a developmental edit and a copy edit.

The weird: The female knot.

Upshot: compelling and emotional sapphic shifter omegaverse.

Not really for me.

Some of the dialogue and sex scenes made.me a little uncomfortable. I think it's because Masao was abused her whole life and that already made her submissive but you get the Alpha dynamic and miner bdsm and it's a little uncomfortable at parts. I got tired of the you are mine and belong to me when they just meet. The story taking place over barely three days just doesn't give them time to build the relationship. Also the punishment scene was gross. Seiben didn't even ask her before letting her betas in and they were in wolf for too. Gross.

Great story…

Except I didn’t like how Omega’s (female) ones were weaker and didn’t have a wolf shift. All her life Misoa was abused. And finally, her aunt was able to bring her back to her family.

As Misoa tries to figure out who she is and how to live on the other side of her life from the abuse of her adoptive parents she meets Seiban who is watching and stalking her. Soon she finds out her true identity and more things that are hidden in her family secrets.

There is a bit of BDSM in play here. And of course it is when you have the Alpha/Omega typical set up. It just breeds the whole D/s dynamic. And with playing that way, it brings in sharing. It’s the small pack’s Omega. Those dynamics sort of defeat the whole “mine” theory and soulmates. She’s theirs. And they share. Meh 🫤. It took away from the story to me. They didn’t delve into it all that much but there is a scene and the thoughts of another that didn’t come to fruition because it was supposed to be “their” special moment.

It is also hinted at that her mother is her father’s first mate and then that there are two others. There are a lot of things that didn’t get tied up. Like what happened to Charlotte? We don’t know what was on the list that Seiban had Misoa write. I’m sure it was about playing and sharing. We don’t know if Misoa ever met her family.

This wolf weres were just a bit too different for me. I like my wolf weres committed, territorial, and loyal. These seemed young and just of the fleshly delights. And I definitely didn’t like the mix where I swear while having relations she turned into a wolf or a partial shift. Uhm no! I didn’t sign up for that.

I gave it a 5 for the writing style and the telling of a unique story. It is not for the story itself. I liked a lot about it, but not the weakness of the Omega, the sharing, and the shifting while copulating.

Good story

The story in itself was a good one. It was quite steamy - a lot of spicy scenes.

After years of abuse by adoptive parents, Misoa moved to a birth family’s cabin in the woods, and there she finally had time to rediscover herself. After meeting Seiban, her confidence grows, together with the belief that she is worthy of love. I really liked the tenderness and care Seiban was giving Misoa.

I kind of didn’t like mate sharing. Well, if Seiban and Misoa were soulmates, then that was it in my opinion. Seiban often repeated ”Mine” about Misoa, which led me to believe they belong just to each other. I guess that is a pack thing?

It was a very fast-paced romance. The whole story seemed to take only a few days.

My questions are:
- What happened with Charlotte?
- Is there more of the Machellane clan?
- And how does it work with Omegas, males shift but not females?

It was such a shame that female Omegas do not shift, though.

I loved the Alpha as a woman. Refreshing. I love a good representation of a powerful woman.

It was a well-written story and quite easy to read. My first Alpha x Omega story.

Not what I initially thought it was gonna be but the outcome wasn’t bad, really enjoyed it.

Tell me why at the I think around the 80 - 89% it’s reminded me so much of vampire diaries ( like the vibes/reveals from the show) and when my guy said his name was Klaus the way I screamed, ( might rewatch for the millionth time) and giggled so much cause I wasn’t expecting that. Basically felt like a watching an episode of Vampire diaries but with werewolves as the stars and I loved that for me.

I loved the moments with Seiban and Misoa alone and also with their pack. It was spicy / wholesome the perfect balance. Honestly I am content with the amount of time I got with them, but I’ll still miss them. That hunting scene when she was getting punished, I liked it didn’t know I would.

I need to start a petition for more werewolf sapphic books with BIPOC MCs (back to searching I go).

Backed Raquel’s kickstarter and received my copy early for her.

- Bi/Pan rep
- sapphic relationship
- Indigenous FMC/SC rep
- Black FMC/SC rep
- duel POV
- spicy

A different Omegaverse

This was my first time reading a book by this author. I'm always interested in the way female alphas are portrayed in different versions of an Omegaverse. This representation was good. I loved the physical aspects of Sieban and having the main characters be black was refreshing. The story itself was passionate and raw. Sieban is driven by her natural instincts and Misoa has to learn to give into the instincts that lay dormant within her. After spending her entire life being lied to and put down Misoa starts to find her confidence and voice through her relationship with Sieban. I highly suggest reading this story. It's a fast burn. The spice level is high. I'll definitely be reading other books by this author.

Omegaverse with some twists... There are enough ideas in this book to fill up a 3-book series, but...
There is too many inner monologues, I was wondering if some chapters were written by AI. On one hand it feels a bit like MF omageverse, at some point I thought it will go to why choose/polyamory. Then there were some unfinished personal connections. What about the friends, the aunt, why introducing Misoa to the family, when

A little too far for me

From page one, the writing comes off as immature. The character’s inner dialogue makes me feel like she’s mentally a high school girl instead of an adult woman, which I’m unsure if that is from the character or the writing style. There were a few spicy scenes that went a little too far into the werewolf concept for my personal taste, but that is absolutely an opinion. I feel like the dynamic of the characters themselves felt completely off to me, the pack acts like children but they do very adult things despite also treating the main characters like parents? It was just not for me.

Going in, I was expecting a cute sapphic Alpha-Omega romance. What I was not expecting was a domineering Alpha love interest and a wolf pack gang rape. While the prose was solid, this felt like a checklist of kinks and not an actual story with nuanced character development or meaningful worldbuilding. I’ve read better fanfiction.

More in regards to that scene:

Interesting

The spicy s*x scenes are so good, and I wanted to give it a full 5 stars but I felt as thought it jumped around a little bit and I wish there were more details into what it’s like to be an omega, the traditions and their relationship, and more of the future with them as mated pairs.

3.5 ⭐️ this is my first Omegaverse book I’ve ever read, so I had to adjust to that. I’m not sure if it’s for me, but I enjoyed the story and wanted more insight into Seiban and Misoa’s life after the mating ceremony.

Also, the last chapter said it was Misoa’s POV but it was Seiban’s

I really liked the plot. However, there are definitely some editing errors. nothing too huge, just "" in wrong places, using the wrong character name for the pov and character towards the end, etc. those little things. I still love the book and ending

Mmmmmmmm

Sexy as hell and characters you actually care about in a story you can't wait to see unfold

Mating the omega with the whole pack while in wolf form is amazing

The omega not shifting and then finding one that does was confusing and I need more info

Spice was fun, could have used more world building

The random villain at the end really came out of nowhere, but who doesn’t enjoy a lady boner every now and then?

In other news, Misoa had the survival skills of a koala 🐨

Well, this is essentially smut, found family and a bit of drama. Cute characters and plenty love involved though! A quick, easy read that’s got a fairly sinister plot going on.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

In my active search to find sapphic books written by Black authors with black characters, I’m glad I found this gem.

Alpha Woman is a FF omegaverse. After, Misoa escapes an abusive foster home she decides to spend time away in the forest. There, she encounters Seiban, who reveals an unexpected history within Misoa’s bloodline. She is then faced with the challenge of learning about Seiban and their history or abandoning it all.

The dominant theme in this story is found family— learning how to trust yourself and your pack. Also, a reoccurring theme in omegaverse is challenged by how much love and tenderness the alpha gives their family despite toxic beliefs that an Omega’s only purpose is pleasure for an alpha and to procreate.

If you’re looking for a spicy sapphic fantasy with mostly black characters, this is the book for you.
