Throne of Lies

Rate this book
Luna Amaris is a shell of the woman she used to be. She has no memories of who she used to be and how she ended up as King Lucius Blackthorn's personal slave except for one recurring nightmare of him murdering two unknown people. Frustrated by her situation, hope arrives in the form of a rogue Fae that feels familiar to her, and he breaks her out of her confinement.

Luna yearns for her magic to come back - she can feel the flicker of it inside her. But unfortunately it does not come back as easily as she would like and now she is stuck training day in and day out to undo a curse that she didn't even know she had and preparing for a war on the kingdom of Xarvia.

Will Luna regain her memories and unlock her magic in time, or will she have to surrender to the throne of lies that Lucius has built?

Hello! I am Alyssa, 29 years old from Massachusetts. I started self-publishing in February 2024 and have not looked back since.

I love all things romantasy, including vampires, wolves, dragons, elves, etc. The smuttier the better for me, honestly.

My writing ranges/will range from romantasy of my own to contemporary romance, mafia romance, dark romance and whatever the hell else comes out of my brain.

I live at home with my parents, brother, dog and two cats. During the day I teach computer science to 10 to 18 year olds.

Good storyline but not great writing

The book started strong with good details but from the time of the story opening to when the first bit of action started to roll-in felt rushed. There were inconsistent descriptions of the character's traits, POV writing, and repetitive descriptors (ethereal is a word I never want to read again). I had hope but this book fell flat for me.
