With the appearance of a mysterious woman on Sean’s doorstep, life in Waycross takes a new turn for Sean and his family. The woman, a beautiful French alchemist, has news regarding Daisy’s sister, who needs their help.
This time, the adventure takes Sean and his companions to the enchanting village of Colmar in France. There, they must visit a strange magical academy hidden away in a pocket dimension.
Not your typical vacation… Hopefully, they will still find the time to try the hotel’s hot tub in between investigating the mystery of Colmar’s academy, exploring magical ruins, and acquiring new gear.
I loved that we had a little more different action in this one, and I love that we dipped a little more into different magic. My only complaint about this one is that we only had a few of the POVs of our FMCs way later in the book. I'd like to see more and have them spread out more for the next one. I know it can get confusing with multiple POVs in a book, but I do love a little different perspective sometimes. Look forward to the next one.
I recently reviewed another of Author Bryce’s ongoing series, saying I thought it may be his most ambitious work. But after finishing Mage of Waycross 4 I may have to reel that back a bit. Both MoW and Enchanter are going on concurrently, and both exhibit this author’s prodigious talents.
Author Bryce’s books are simply a joy and terrifically fun to read. Thanks, Jack, for all you do.
Book 4 and the team is just about ready to go to war. The build up to this point was the main topic of book 4. Obviously Sean and his harem have been given a number of incentives to take on a powerful enemy. Bolstered by a new member and growth of a current member the team is ready to fight and win. Cannot wait for book 5 to be released.
I know this is harem, but the ex wife and kid make this really cringy for me. He left his wife and kid but still simp for her. There is no way his ex would put up with the multiple girls around her son. They were in a monogamous relationship prior to him leaving and it took less than a month for him to hook up.
The explanation of the story in Waycross 4 is making it obvious to me that this will be a series to follow through many books to come. Although the editing is atrocious at times for those who thrive on correct punctuation, the story itself is magical and very enjoyable. Keep up the good work Mr. Bryce!
Dealing with family issues doesn't normally include finding out your sister is a mage and has been abducted by a cult from a different dimension, then again lately that's a normal monday
