Route 66: The Mother Road: Photo Gallery, 2nd Edition

Rate this book
#1 Kindle Bestseller in Pictorial Travel (Summer 2015), and now with a new and improved 2nd edition. Route 66, the Mother Road, is perhaps the most famous road in American history. This is a collection of photographs taken along historic 66 in the southwestern stretch (OK, TX, NM, AZ), many during a year-long cross-country trip by the author. There are also early photographs of impoverished refugees from the Great Depression for whom Route 66 was a lifeline to a better life in California.

Simple but wonderful

Most enjoyable book to read in less than an hour. Beautiful pictures with short captions. We are planning on doing this trip someday.

A little disappointed but...

There are some really cool pictures in this book but it only covered part of Route 66. I would liked to have seen the other states along the Mother Road represented but overall an enjoyable book.
