Look, it’s important to know that every time Henry did it, he knew it was wrong.
What if there was someone whose thoughts you wanted to know more than anything else?
What if that person had put a gateway to their thoughts in their head? And you could hack it?
Henry is a skilled hacker who’s about to make a lot of bad life decisions. But if those decisions reveal that his ex-girlfriend is going to stumble into a trap in the den of a dragon, shouldn’t he do something about it? Whatever the cost?
He’s going to find out. It’ll take him on a wild ride involving secret Matrix nodes, determined hit men, and twisted scheming, but he’ll keep telling himself it’s what he has to do…
The protagonist is an arrogant, sleazy, misogynistic, toxic, overbearing wanna-be Knight in a shining armour. And while the ending of the story is still too nice to him, I would've liked to see him fail way more spectacularly than he did, because he gets away too easily. Not even the ending makes up for me feeling dirty after having read this story. 2/5 stars because the ending does help and the story made me feel something. Unfortunately that feeling was anger towards toxic, entitled and arrogant men.
