do not recommend, even for someone who has never gardened at all

This book has so many paragraphs that were the exact same in different chapters, redundant and repetitive sections, and sentences that were used repeatedly throughout the book that I have a hard time believing it wasn’t written with the heavy use of AI. The majority of the pictures are AI and give a completely unrealistic Depiction of what a home garden would look like. I honestly found it hard to to find anything of use in this book. It calls itself a beginners guide, but gives very little specific guidance. Additionally, many of the photos and recommendations are of large scale, growing operations, such as one would find in a large nursery or on an actual farm. Finally, many of the recommendations are * expensive* and definitely not what a beginner gardener would likely have the resources to use, such as extensive hydroponic systems, massive solar panels to provide shade for the garden, or using AI gardening robots(one of the final chapters is actually encouraging everyone to appreciate and use AI in their garden). I am not a master gardener. By any means, I have merely grown produce and flowers, focusing on natives, for approximately five years. I would definitely skip this book and ask your local master gardeners for recommendations on books. In addition, every state has a resource center online. For instance, in Texas, it is run by Texas A&M.

This was pretty interesting. I learned quite a bit that will help when planning and planting a garden. It's also really helpful for anyone who doesn't have a lot of space for a big garden. I definitely will be rereading certain parts as we set up everything in our new garden.
I won this book on goodreads-giveaways.

I really enjoyed this book. I like that it went into detail about how to plant and the different ways you can take care of your garden. I wish it talked more about composting but 5/5.
