The last thing Sally Bingham expected was to have her entire life as she had known it to be a complete lie. She knew that her mother had abandoned her when she was too little to remember her, leaving her to be raised by her father Ed. But someplace deep inside, she wanted to know more about her mother and why she left. Only her father doesn't want to tell her any more than he already has, which amounts to almost nothing.

Receiving numerous emails from an Amish woman named Lizzie who is interested in the Pembroke Welsh Corgi's she breeds, she heads to Lancaster County not only in response to a possible dog adoption, but to give her some breathing room from her pending engagement to Donald. She wasn't sure why but something was nagging at the back of her mind, telling her that Donald might not be all she had thought he was. He didn't care for her ailing father like he should and seemed to distance himself from her as much as possible. If she followed through with her upcoming marriage, she would need to give up her breeding, and move to Donald's home town to be close to his family. After their recent argument, Sally believes some time spent away from Donald might give her the perspective she needs and is missing.

What she doesn't expect to find when she arrives in Intercourse, Pennsylvania is that her reservation at the Bed and Breakfast is cancelled due to rain damage to her room leaving her with no options. Thankfully she runs into an Amish driver who tells her that his family often takes in English tourists. Little did she know that it was also the home of Lizzie, the woman behind all the numerous emails about the dog. But is that really what she wants to know? Why does an Amish woman want a pure breed dog like a Welsh Corgi? Did she even realize how much these dogs cost? Or is there something more behind the request to get Sally to come to Lancaster County? Would that have anything to do with the handsome Amish man, Armin staying on the family's farm? Life is about to get so much more interesting than she ever imagined.

I received Forever Amish by Kate Lloyd compliments of David C. Cook Publishers and Litfuse Publicity for my honest review. I did not receive any monetary compensation for a favorable review and the opinions are strictly my own. This is the third and final book in the Lancaster of Legacy trilogy but I believe there are still more questions that need to be answered by the time you get to the end. Hopefully Kate will address these in a future novel. I love when you get a blend of the two cultures of Amish and English in one novel. It shows the similarities as well as differences between the two and shows that English can become Amish if they are willing to endure the hard work. It conveys that the things that one must give up isn't necessarily as hard as you would think. In fact, I love the simplicity that the Amish living brings over the English life of living for wealthy and material things. I love that by the end Sally gets a sense of what belonging really means as well as being a part of something more than just a family! I easily give this one a 5 out of 5 stars!

FOREVER AMISH: A NOVEL (Legacy of Lancaster Trilogy) by Kate Lloyd is the third book of the series.

"Sally Bingham needs some time away to sort through the changes in her life and to rethink her upcoming marriage. Despite her ailing father’s hesitations, she takes off for a bed and breakfast in Lancaster County for a weekend away. But her best-laid plans leave her in a near collision with a bishop’s buggy and in the home of a mysterious Amish woman named Lizzie. Lizzie introduces her to a different perspective on life, a charming farmhand named Armin— and opens a Pandora’s box that will forever change Sally’s life."

Having read the first two books of the series, I have to say that this one took me completely by surprise. I began reading it thinking I knew it was going in the same direction of most books of this genre, but, that was not the case. First of all, as I began reading, I had the sense that a piece to the puzzle, or should I say, the story, was missing. It started out almost like a mystery. The mystery unfolds right from the start when Sally decides to go to Lancaster County because of some e-mails she had received from Lizzie. Upon arriving to Lancaster County, Sally is increasingly aware that she has no clue as to why she is there, and thus begins the sense of mystery. But that is also where the mystery part of the story ends as Sally soon discovers what the real reason for her visit is. The story unfolds revealing a beautiful story of love, romance, self-discoveries, revelations, faith, and forgiveness, which ends up being a perfect ending to a great series.

*Although this book can be read as a standalone, I highly recommend the entire series.

Kate Lloyd has outdone herself with this final book of the Legacy of Lancaster trilogy. It is so good that it arrived in the mail yesterday and I finished within 12 hours! It is certainly a well-written book on forgiveness and family and the love and problems that accompany families. Sally and Armin are delightful characters as is Rhoda. Some of the other characters are rather crochety and grouchy and take a while to get to know before the love starts to grow for them. This book takes Sally, a young Englisch woman, on the journey of a lifetime and might just turn her world upside down. Get a copy and read this one soon!

I chose this book because frankly I am intrigued by the Amish life and Lancaster is close by to my home. I also grew up with horses so the book caught my eye of course. I started out liking this book and by the end I loved it. It really is a sweet story. Admittedly, I have not read the other books in the trilogy but it made no difference. Reading Forever Amish sparked my interest enough as to where I will read the others in the series.

I loved Rhoda and watching Sally`s relationship with Armin grow was really cute. I was rooting for them to get together. I wasn't expecting so much speculation of Sally`s mother throughout the book and it became somewhat monotonous. I was also pleasantly surprised by a couple things when I thought I knew what was going to happen and this was going to be a predictable book, I was wrong. A little bit of suspense in the beginning with not knowing who the people were that took Sally in, I actually started to wonder if it was going to turn into a horror but it did not. One thing that kind of took away from the book was the fact that I've watched Amish Mafia...but that's not the book's fault!

The author really captured the Amish lifestyle and I am excited to read the other books in the trilogy. The only thing I wish would have been added in the epilogue, especially since this is the last book, was how Sally`s father was doing and what ended up happening with his health as well as their relationship. I was hoping she forgave him and accepted him and forgot about the past.

I loved this sweet story! I would even read it again.

I have received this book from Netgalley in exchange for my honest opinion.

Am sad to see this series end, have read all three of these books, and these folks have become like family. We have return of all of our dear friends, and a few more. How would you like to grow up and have no family other than your father, and he tells you nothing about your mother, and of course you think the worse!
We travel back to Lancaster County, and Sally Bingham needs this time to get away, she is planning a wedding and has been contacted about her beloved corgis. In an interesting way, things kind of fall into place, a bit to conveniently, as you begin to wonder? Then to top off everything she almost has her car crash into the Bishop and his buggy, as she begins her adventure with the young woman Lizzie, who has been emailing her. Things seemed kind of funny here I was thinking, but what could be wrong?
Armin is back and is a sweet Amish man who after some banter with Sally becomes smitten. Now here is an Amish man and English woman, how can that work? You are going to be surprised at the outcome. Also God has his hand on all, some tragic events could have very different outcomes.
As we come to the end of this series, I find myself wanting more and more, I want to sit in the rocking chair and become one of this great family, where generations all live and work together. Enjoy!

What a compelling read! Packed with emotion from the very first page, Sally's distress is palpable. Her world is unraveling, exposing raw wounds she didn't realize were festering. Her journey of discovery makes for a spellbinding story. I was as anxious and she was to put the puzzle pieces together. But oh how complicated her life becomes once she has the answers she is seeking. What a lovely, complicated mess!

Armin is a stalwart hero. Once he makes up his mind, he's pretty much immovable. And he makes up his mind about Sally pretty quickly. Makes for a lovely, tender romance.

Oh, and I can't not mention Ginger, the corgi. I mean, seriously, how can you not want to read a book with a corgi in it?!

All in all, a winning combination that makes this an enthralling read.

This is the third book in this Legacy of Lancaster Trilogy called Forever Amish by Kate Lloyd. It focuses on Sally, a young woman who lives with her father, going to Lancaster to meet a young girl she met on the internet through emails. Sally finds out that Lizzie is Amish and brought her here on a ruse. Lizzie introduces her to Armin, an Amish neighbor and sparks start to fly. But a secret unfolds that tears Sally’s world apart. Read this story to see how Sally learns to cope with her new discoveries.

The best book of the trilogy. I adore Sally's character and Armin has grown up to be a solid Amish man.

I would like to see a fourth book, detailing how Lizzie fares growing up. She is in all 3 books and by the end of the third you have grown to love her.

Forever Amish: Legacy of Lancaster Trilogy***** by Kate Lloyd

Sally Bingham is about to be married soon, but she is having second thoughts and may even call off the wedding. She decides she needs some time to sort things out, so she leaves her home in Connecticut to spend the weekend in Bird-In-Hand, PA. Her father really doesn't want her to go to Lancaster, PA for reasons he will not share with her. He is very closed mouth about her mother too, much to Sally's distress. She hates to leave her ill father but needs to get away. She has booked a room at a local B & B but as she arrives they call to tell her the room she rented has been flooded and they are full up. Suddenly her plans change but learns that she may be able to rent a room in one of the Amish homes. She asks a young Amish man, Jeremy Zook, where she could stay and he offers a room in his home. His sister, Lizzie is closing up the store where she works and meets Sally.

Sally is surprised that Lizzie is actually the girl she has been corresponding with by email and who had encouraged Sally to come to PA. But there is something strange about the whole thing. Lizzie seems to be hiding something from her—maybe the real reason she wanted Sally to come to PA? She is determined to find out what is going on, but Lizzie is as closed mouth as her father. However, she did not expect Lizzie's family and the impact they will have on her, turning her life upside down.

Armin King is a young Amish man who works on the Zook's farm and joins them for most of their meals. After meeting Sally, he finds himself very interested in courting her. However, she is an Englisher—non Amish, which is forbidden. Even so, Armin and Sally spend time together and find they are drawn to each other more and more. What is Sally going to do? Can she really leave her life in Connecticut, join the Amish faith and maybe someday marry Armin? Is such a thing even possible? What does God have in store for Sally and Armin, her father and the Zook family?

Sally's father shows up unexpectedly at the Zook's home. Sally is shocked he even knew where she was staying, but he appears to know the Zook's. But that is not possible, her father has never been to Lancaster, PA. She soon learns some shocking news from her father and Lizzie's parents. News that will forever change her life. How can she believe anything anyone tells her when her own father has been lying to her her whole life? Who can she trust? Will she ever be able to unravel the mysteries and secrets that surround them?

I enjoyed the way the characters interacted in a believable way. There is a mystery surrounding each of these characters, will Sally be able to solve the mystery as well as learn the secrets they seem to be hiding from her? What will happen when she learns the truth? Only God can restore her broken heart. There is so much heartache, stress, many secrets revealed, broken relationships finally restored, forgiveness, a faith that heals and so much more.

I received this book from Net Galley in exchange for my honest review. That in now way affects my opinion.

Forever Amish by Kate Lloyd is a good Christian romance read. Forever Amish is the third book in the Legacy of Lancaster series. It is the first book that I have read in the series and I would like to read the others. I am a fan of Amish fiction and have enjoyed every one that I have read thus far and Forever Amish is no exception. I liked “visiting” Lancaster County again and will be sure to “stop” by in the future.

Sally has a pretty good life right now. She has a good job, a fiancé, and is close to her father. What more could a girl want? Her father is ill and her life begins to crumble right before her eyes. She would do anything to help her ailing father even if it means giving up a part of her. Her fiancé on the other hand isn’t so keen on the idea. She is furious with him and doesn’t know what to do. She needs to get away so she decides to go to a Bed and Breakfast in Lancaster County. She has always been fascinated with the Amish and one of them, a girl named Lizzie, has been reaching out to her. When she arrives she meet Lizzie and ends up staying with her family. She really enjoys her time with them and they are very amicable and it warms her heart. Then her father shows up and things get a bit weird. She will learn things that she has never known. Once she knows the truth she has some choices to make. What will she do? Will she say goodbye to her former life and stay with the Amish? Or will she go back to the life she already knew?

I liked Forever Amish it was an interesting story. I thought it had a great plot even if I guessed the secret long before it was ever revealed. There were a couple of questions left unanswered by the end of the book so I am hoping there will be another one to explain what happened with some of them. I liked Sally she was a good person and was very genuine. I like that she was willing to put her life on hold to help her father and to help an unknown Amish girl as well. I like that she had integrity as well. I like Lizzie because she was very sweet and had her family’s best interest at heart when she contacted Sally. I thought she was a bit naïve but I think that is true of most teenagers especially the ones who are sheltered. I liked that there was a romantic story woven within the pages as well and the fact that it wasn’t the only focus of the story. I liked watching it develop in the midst of everything else. I would recommend Forever Amish to those who enjoy Amish fiction.

My Review:

Sally, was always attracted to the Amish and their lifestyle, something that her fiance Donald wasn't. But that didn't deter her, especially when a nice, Amish girl by the name of Lizzie contacted her through her website. After several back and forth messages, Sally decided she would take a weekend and drive out to Intercourse, Pennsylvania and meet this Lizzie, and find out her story. After much prying and sweet talk towards her Dad, she finally sets off on this new adventure.

Sally soon meets Lizzie, almost by accident, and after a near collision starts to question her as to why she is even here. Sally is already feeling like she stepped back in time. Sally is definitely right, there is apparently something amiss with Lizzie, but what? She has already started to question her upcoming wedding and marriage. Maybe this place filled with its lovely people, and beautiful landscaping is just the kick in the pants she needs to change the course of her life.

Forever Amish by Kate Lloyd (Legacy of Lancaster #3)

4 STARS

I have enjoyed reading Legacy of Lancaster series. Forever Amish does not disappoint. It is full of secrets, drama, romance and Amish life style. I love the characters and would like to see more of them in the future.

I think it would be tough to live Amish after living English world. I would miss car, electricity, internet and sometimes phone.

Sally Bingham has always wanted to visit the Amish. Her father and fiancé don't ever want to go. So after fight she decides to go in response to email invitation she received from Lizzy Zook. Her father really is not happy about her going. Her stay in the bed and breakfast is cancelled and she is invited to stay in a real Amish house.

Armin is living and working for the Amish farm instead of in his brother's empty house. He has not been baptized yet. He lived English lifestyle for years. Armin likes Sally.

The Zook family sometimes rents room to people who need a place to stay but won't take any money from Sally. They really want her to stay at least most of the family does. While Sally is arguing with her father on the phone Rhoda Zook asks to speak and reassures her father that they will take care of her but Sally's father hangs up on her.

Ed Bingham is really sick. He is a used cars salesman. He has raised Sally on his own. He won't talk to her about her mother at all and has other secrets he has been keeping.

Most of the book takes place in Lancaster county. In Amish community.

Lizzy Zook who emailed Sally and wanted to know more about her purebred dogs. Asks her to come because she needs her help. After Sally is their won't tell her why she wanted to come. Plus she is sneaking out at night.

I would read more books from Kate Lloyd in the future. I have read all three books in Legacy of Lancaster series. They have characters that I care about and are a clean read.

I was given this ebook to read by Net Galley and in return asked to give honest review of it.

The third in the Legacy of Lancaster Series, Forever Amish deviates from the mainstream as Amish fiction goes. This parable begins with Sally Bingham and her father who lead fairly ordinary lives aside from the fact that Sally's mother disappeared from her life when she was too young to remember. Sally has been receiving emails from an Amish girl in Pennsylvania which have piqued her curiosity. A weekend trip to Lancaster County launches Sally into a curious situation that has her questioning the direction her life is taking, and opens some doors to her past. Her father's deception surfaces, and Sally's presence in the Amish community opens her eyes to the importance of family and faith. Numerous questions arise and a handsome Amish man attracts Sally's attention, but who could learn to live with the restrictions the Amish Ordnung places on its families?

Kate Lloyd has taken an unexpected approach in the last of this series by introducing a young Englisch woman and her father and creating an unpredictable and unexpected adventure into the Amish community. Deception is a strong theme that could sever relationships or potentially bind them together. A strong contrast between the Amish life and the modern ways of the non-Amish are well delineated throughout this fast-paced novel. The consequences that result from a life of deception are well portrayed throughout, and forgiveness becomes the focus in the lives of the characters in this complex story. The author has created a thought-provoking and strong moral thread in this final book in this series. This could easily be a stand-alone book, not reliant on the prequels. Enjoy!

I have read and enjoyed all three books in the Legacy of Lancaster Trilogy. Forever Amish is the third book in the series and is definitely my favorite! Don’t worry if you have not read the first two books in the series, this book can also be enjoyed as a stand alone novel.

Forever Amish was just so enjoyable. I really liked Sally Bingham and felt for her. She is a confused woman who needs answers and is questioning what path she should follow with her life. I found her to be a very interesting character who simply needed to straighten some things out in her life and desperately wanted to be told the truth.

Ah, and Armin…I really enjoyed him in the second book of the series, but liked him even more in this one. What a handsome and nice man. He hasn’t ever totally settled down and committed to the Amish lifestyle. He is a man of great depth. More about his past is talked of in book two, but enough is mentioned in Forever Amish that readers should be able to see that he has great emotion in him. I love how sure he becomes of his future in this book. I really enjoyed watching the relationships grow between all of the characters in this book, and liked the message of forgiveness that was woven throughout the story.

Forever Amish was a joy to read from start to finish and I would definitely recommend it to fans of Amish fiction.

Sally Bingham has always been interested in the Amish and has recently been corresponding online with an Amish girl, Lilly Zook. So without informing her father or fiance Sally decided to to visit Lilly's Amish community and stay at the local Bed and Breakfast. When she arrives she is unable to stay at the Bed & Breakfast and is invited to stay with a local Amish family. This leads to a chain of events Sally had not expected. For some reason she feels right at home with the Zook family and their community. She even helps out or shall we say is working at a local business.

An Amish man, Armin works for the Zook family and lives on their property. He has family he could live with but is more comfortable working and staying on the Zook.s property. He finds himself attracted to the new boarder and decides to ask her on a date of sorts.

I founds myself drawn into the mystery and romance of this story. I have enjoyed reading this series and this new addition did not disappoint me. Their is so much I would like to tell you about the book but then the element of surprise would be lost. I felt the desperate need of Sally to not only find her roll in life but to also grow in her relationship with God. Then there is Armin trying to find his place within his own family and community.

The author gives God the biggest roll in this book as he leads the characters on the path he has planned for each and every one of them.

I highly recommend this book.

I rated this book a 5 out of 5.

MY REVIEW
Another great book to end this series. Have you ever been in a position of trusting that one special person in your life to always be honest with you, then you find out they have done nothing but lie to you about the one question you repeatedly asked them, for your whole life? Kate has concluded this series of finding yourself in a completely different lifestyle than you were raised and having to make the hardest decision of your life, where do you belong, wonderfully. If you like a good Amish story with a twist, you have it in this book, this series. I am looking for more great stories from Kate.

Forever Amish
By: Kate Lloyd

No matter where you run to, your problems follow you. Sally Bingham thinks getting away for a while will help her view her problems in a different light. Should she marry Donald? Why won’t her dad tell her about her mother? Will she ever feel like she fits in?

Lizzie Zook lives in an Amish community and sends emails to Sally asking about buying a dog, since Sally raises and shows them. Sally decides to go visit Lizzie as a chance to get away from her problems. Sally meets Lizzie’s family and Armin who is staying there. She is drawn to their way of life and to Armin, but can she give up everything she has ever known and adhere to their way of life?

Armin King has stayed single all this time. He’s been to the Amish singings and taken a few girls home, but none of them have caught his eye. Could he be waiting for Sally, even though she hasn’t been raised Amish?

Sally must learn to come to terms with her past. Can she forgive her father for not telling her about her mother? Can she forgive her mother for abandoning her? Forever Amish is a great story of love, forgiveness, and finding peace. This is a definite must read Amish romance!

This book is ultimately about forgiveness, and how lying can really do alot more harm then good. I found this book captivating. The book grabs you and keeps you wanting more. It is told from one person side but the author manages to tell everyones story, and does an amazing job doing so. I just love Amrin hes there but not really and then catches you and you are so intrigued by him you just want to know so much more. As Sally struggles with her past and find her future she struggles with her presant to. Sally stuggles with forgiveness, abandonment, and her own self worth when she receives an email from someone that take her to a place she is always drawn to but can't figure out why. Sally struggles to figure out who she is and finds that the people closest to her may not be who she always thought they were. I just love the emotions of the characters and how she did not protray the amish and better then or flawless but just a broken as the rest of us. The author did a good job with this book I would recommend it to anyone, but I think this would be a good book for a preteen or teenager.

Startling Revelation Leads to Self-Discovery...

Third in the Legacy of Lancaster County Trilogy, Forever Amish definitely holds its own as a stand-alone book. I have not read Kate Lloyd's other novels, but was thoroughly immersed in this tale of a young Englischer searching for her roots. Sally Bingham travels to Lancaster County in answer to repeated emails about her show dogs, only to discover a peaceful world, yet one with great tensions simmering beneath the surface that threaten her security. How will she respond to these new situations and people? Or will she high-tail it for home and the familiar life she left behind?

I loved that Lloyd shows even the Amish struggle with some of the same temptations and sins that Englischers do. I also appreciated how much she emphasized the key to happiness is a willingness to forgive others and move on. I have to wonder how many real life stories end like this one, or if it's one in a blue moon.

My Thoughts About The Book: We have had a lot of rainy days here in the South and I began this book on one of those days. I started early in the morning while everyone else in the house was asleep. Kate Lloyd is a master at creating well developed characters. I could not put this book down. It was a wonderful story about forgivness. I have read the other books in this trilogy and it was nice knowing the characters as I began but this is a stand alone and can be read without having read the other two parts.

Forever Amish by Kate Lloyd is a very interesting book to me. I started reading the book late one night and had to stop, but finished reading it the next afternoon. I was captivated by this storyline with the romance and drama. For me, this book has some twists and turns and I never could predict what would happen next and I loved that. The main point brought out in Forever Amish is forgiveness, but there are other messages or thoughts you can glean from this book. I thoroughly enjoyed reading Author Kate Lloyd's book and I will definitely be reading more of her books. I highly recommend reading Forever Amish. It's a fantastic book.

I received a complimentary copy from the publisher through NetGalley in exchange for my honest review. This review is one hundred percent my opinion.

Forever Amish by Kate Lloyd was another great Amish fiction book. I have really been getting into Amish fiction books and this one didn’t let me down. I loved the twists that this book took and it defiantly took me on a ride because I didn’t see some of things that happened happening that is for sure. I loved Sally & Lizzie because they seemed like they could be real people. I was happy with the ending because I had hoped throughout the whole book that it would end like it did. If you love Amish fiction than this is definitely a must read!

This is a very touching story ! A story about love and forgiveness. Learning to forgive even when we don't know why folks do things the way they do. A story about finding the love of God , who never leaves us, even if others abandon us. Kate has written a wonderful tale and shared with us the truth of God's love and mercy. Shown us how to trust God for the answers to life's problems and trials. I read this book and had not read the first two, but I loved the story and will not go back and read the first two. This was my first Kate Lloyd Story, but not may last !

I have read all the books in the Legacy of Lancaster Trilogy, and this one was my favorite. This one flowed really, a lot better than the other two. It may be that it flowed so well because I liked the characters in this book better than in the first two. Kate Lloyd is an exceptional writer. Sometimes, I didn't like Sally, but in the end I did. If you are looking for a great Amish read that will keep you entertained, and has a little mystery to it, then this is the book for you.

I read this on the Kindle

This was a good book & i enjoyed it but how it was part of a trilogy i don't know yes there were people in there that in the other two books but it was mainly about Sally who has nothing much to do with the people in the first 2 books okay she gets friendly with one of the people in the first 2 books

The one thing this book seems to have in the storyline is the thread that parents lie to their child & that this continues until they are well in to their adulthood

I felt this book could be a stand alone book & not part of a trilogy but still a very good read

This is a wonderful exploration of forgiveness.

This book is full of fantastic characters. They are well developed and presented. The variety of personalities is very nice. Most of them, but not all, are Amish. Some of them have secrets they have been keeping for years even from their closest loved ones. As secrets come out heartaches abound. It was great to see the paths each one takes to find their way to forgiveness.

Forever Amish is Book 3 in the Legacy of Lancaster trilogy. But it certainly can be read as a stand-alone and totally understood. It is a book of forgiveness and love with a lot of family involvement. Sally is searching for family roots while showing her dog. She spends time living with an Amish family and develops a friendship with them. She also discovers why the mysterious emails were sent. I enjoyed this book along with the two in the trilogy. Kate Lloyd continues to be on my list of favored authors.

What a brilliant story, whilst on the internet searching for her mother a amish girl keeps sending her emails asking for help, so a needed break from a fractured family and impending marriage she sets off intent on staying in a B/B but ends up staying in a Amish house, only she didnt realise that these people were in fact related to her and that had amish blood running through her veins, its a brilliant story, intrigue, mystery romance and eventually finding herself.

I read this one sometime ago and not sure why I did not review at the time, was getting ready to read Portrait of Marguerite by this author and notices nothing showed as being read and knew I had read her before. She writes a good story and I have wanted to read this one for sometime and have found it at our library.
