Alpha King's Secret Baby is a fated mate, rejected mate, secret pregnancy romance that contains all the angst, steam and a fiery FMC. No cheating, HEA. Contains mature content!
This book was OK, but there was so much done to Kali throughout, and not enough of Trick making it up to her. He treated her badly (as did the whole pack), and then with seemingly minimal effort, she forgives him and all is OK then.
Editing issues: There are so many missing and wrong words used all over the place. Sentences don't make sense. It didn't just happen once or twice, but repeatedly. Name consistency. Warren was referred to as Walter, back and forth.
Am I the only one who can't stand Trick? He treats her like total garbage from the beginning. I understand why she slept with him the first time. I truly HATE that she gave in to her body to sleep with him after he continually treated her like trash every day after that. I am at 35%, and she is supposedly this strong badass, and yet she lets him treat her badly and lets her body dictate everything. No, girl! Have some self-respect. He needs to seriously grovel and earn this! He doesn't get to be a dick and still get laid, too! I'm at 44%, and he's so ready to just kill her after she gives birth? How am I supposed to feel anything for this guy? Ugh, I really don't like him, and I really hope he does something great to redeem himself with her, because as it is he 100% doesn't deserve her. This whole pack is dysfunctional, and should probably be disbanded altogether.
I'm at 78%, and I don't get why he is so mad at her after Lucy attacked and she found out the truth. He has lied to her from the beginning, rejected and destroyed their mate bond, treated her badly at every turn, and she is supposed to just fall in line with what he wants? He's delusional.
OK, I finished the book, and Trick did get a little better, but in my opinion there wasn't enough groveling. He needed to do more to win her back. He was so awful to her, and she just forgives him just because. There was definitely more emotion felt between them, I just wish there had been more throughout the book. I couldn't feel anything from Trick for her up until the very end.
Why are there 4 books in between this book and the previous one in this world? I get that there are multiple authors in this series. I'm not sure why, though. These books are not in the same world at all. And now, after four books between, we are back here, and I have to remember what happened and who these people are again. It doesn't help that I don't read books in a series back to back, unless it is one long continuation of the same story. So for me, there were 21 books between. There is no reason for them to have been separated like that (or even all of these to be in the same series, to begin with).
I'm glad that this book is over. I did look ahead for any more by this author so I won't have to worry about another gap, and luckily there are no more.

This was my first read by K.A. Iris and it certainly won’t be the last. I loved this complicated world she created – it kept me on the edge of my seat till the very last page!
I liked Kali and her strong, independent nature. I felt for her – the difficulties and the pain she had to endure because of her past, but also because of Trick. There were many surprising revelations regarding her (and her wolf) and I loved every time one came to light – it explained so much! As far as Trick is concerned…To be honest, at first I had a bit of a difficult time liking Trick. I couldn’t understand his behavior. Of course, as the story progresses, many jaw dropping revelations take place that made me understand him – and his behavior – better. I ended up rooting for him by the end of the book.
All in all, this book was a fast-paced rollercoaster of events that left me breathless. It was a bit dense at times, which gave me pause as I had to stop for a bit in order to think and be able to follow the characters and the events - there are many secondary characters and story arcs taking place and I needed a minute or else it could be a bit overwhelming. Also, there were parts that I felt there were “leaps” in the story – a chapter ended in a certain way and the next one introduced something else entirely (they were somewhat connected, but the connection felt loose). The bottom line is that Kali and Trick’s road to HEA was a bumpy one to say at least, but it was a satisfying journey. So, despite the few weaknesses, it was a great book and I would love to read more about this amazing werewolf world. 4 stars from me.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I’m not sure why I finished this book 😂😅 I’ve been in such a weird reading slump recently and these rejected mate books are just hitting the spot - but I did not enjoy this book.
I don’t like reverse haram - and this book isn’t RH - but some of the other books in the series are so some of the stuff carries over. My biggest gripe with this book was the omegas are basically pack whores? It was not well explained but they are basically supposed to “service” the alphas and others in the pack and it all just felt super weird and gross. The mmc alpha was a total douche - he is an asshole throughout the whole book and I never felt he ever redeemed himself. He literally thought about killing the mfc- his mate - and having another woman raise his baby after.
4.5 stars! This was a good book. A few grammar mistakes but nothing major that ruined the book for me. (Possible spoilers ahead)
The twists at the end were fantastic. You go most of the book really not liking H that much. After all he did shag her, then rejected her 🤷♀️ NOPE. I was floored when it was revealed that she actually rejected him (even though she didn’t realize it) Then all the revelations about the King. I did not see it coming. Usually I can pick the villain up immediately but in this case, I didn’t. And h’s backstory- 😱 This book had me hooked from beginning to end. The epilogue was perfect.
A good shifter/rejected mate book

It’s not a bad story, but the book is in dire need of a good editor. Sentences with extra, unnecessary words. You’re instead of your, and vice versa. So grammar, punctuation and spelling issues galore.
Not a bad story. The idea is a good one but again, the whole thing needs an overhaul. There are several things that I don’t think I’ve ever seen before, so I’m not sure I believe in them. She’s half human, if I understand it correctly. Can she even be an omega? I’m certainly not up on wolf genetics but her father’s an alpha, right?
This was not a bad book by any means. It did need some editing because name spellings were not consistent and characters names were occasionally mixed up. I also had some trouble with way the book was written when it came to certain perspectives. However, the plot line was pretty great and if general editing details don't bother you then I know you will love it. My only other issue with the book was it was a tad drawn out in my opinion. I also didn't like as much of the back and forth as probably some, but again that is personal preference.
Storyline: 📙📙📙📙 Intimacy Level: 🍒🍒🍒 Character Building: ➷➷➷➷➷ HEA: Yes Overall View: ✨✨✨✨ I am going through the Forbidden Alpha Kings series and enjoying most of these books. I would say most are 3 1/2 stars or higher. One author just isn't for me, but I think that's my issue and has nothing to do with her. This one is a strong 4 and a little different from the typical rejected mate story. It features a strong MFC, and he really doesn't grovel too much, but in a good way.
Kali, the king's Omega and an intriguing stranger come together at a ball, he goes into denial and the mate bond is hidden not by him but her. Life goes on, he finds her after she disappeared pregnant with his pup. After several large misunderstandings he becomes King and she his Queen. Great story of love, betrayal and misunderstandings.
This is the first I read of this series. I Loved it! The Trick and Kali drove me nuts with their journey but I truly was entertained the whole way! Now I’m on my way to the rest of the books. My journey continues with “Forbidden Alpha King” books! Looking forward to it!
The book is similar to the rest in the series. I was quite surprised with all the character and work mistakes. Whoever proofed it needs to do a better job.
This was thoroughly enjoyed. I was wondering what would be the outcome of Trick's revenge. Cyrus didn't seem to be as bad as Trick made him out to be. So many secrets led to so much hurt and pain.
Good story. Keeps your attention. But a ton of grammatical errors. Errors in names. Words being dropped or repeated. If a person edited, they should be fired. If a program, get a new one.
I’ve read a bunch of these shifter books and by far this is one of the best ones. Granted the beginning was a bit confusing since usually Omega roles were quite a bit different. But I totally enjoyed it!!
This was a great book and very original from any other werewolf story I’ve read before. My only complaint was that it was way too long. My ADHD made it difficult to stay committed and not give up half way through it.
Surprised the rating isn’t higher. Strong characters, interesting story line, and good writing. I’m sure if you like shifter romance, you’ll like this one.
