⭐⭐⭐½ Forty, Flirty & Fake-ly Yours – Lacey Monroe

A fun, fast-paced rom-com with witty banter, a geeky billionaire, fake dating, and plenty of chaos.

Grayson and Rosalind’s story had me laughing from the start, and I really enjoyed their chemistry and the humorous chapter titles. The quirky dating app matches and the family dinner scene were definitely some of the highlights for me.

However, by the last third of the book, the constant interruptions from phones, smartwatches, and other electronic devices started to get on my nerves. There was barely a moment of peace, and I found myself wishing the characters would simply put their devices away and enjoy some time together. 😅

Overall, a lighthearted and entertaining romance with plenty of funny moments, but the nonstop digital chaos became a bit too much for me.

Forty, Flirty, and Fake-ly Yours by Lacey Monroe was such a fun and entertaining romance! I really enjoyed the chemistry between the main characters and the way their fake relationship slowly started feeling much more real. The banter, flirting, and unexpected romantic moments kept me smiling and turning the pages. I especially enjoyed the mature characters and the mix of humor and romance. The billionaire boss trope, workplace setting, and fake-dating storyline came together nicely without making the story feel too heavy. There were plenty of sweet moments, laughs, and just enough drama to keep things interesting. Lacey Monroe delivered a lighthearted romantic comedy that’s easy to get lost in. Overall, Forty, Flirty, and Fake-ly Yours is a lighthearted, steamy romantic comedy that makes for an easy and enjoyable escape.

Grayson & Rosalind's story is fast paced & funny from the get go with witty banter & LOL moments.

I love the chapter titles/headings... they are hilarious & add some foreshadowing. Example: "How to Lose a Tech Bro in 10 Days" and "The Devil Wears Patagonia" LOL

The book is told in a dual 1st person POV

This book is full of fun banter, geeky charm, and heart-fluttering moments. I loved the quirky matches from the app and the family dinner scene stole my heart. 🥰

Agh! I really was hoping I’d like this book especially since it is about people in their forties, but I did not finish the book.
First there were way too many characters! I should not have to look back to review who-is-who and their connection.
Also, the attempt to bring humor to the book with Dani’s matches, (the clown and bag piper) were just plain stupid. I found a similar attempt at this type of humor in her other book and also thought it was ridiculous and unnecessary.

While this was a funny read, by the last third of the book I was starting to feel anxious just because there was no break from the constant interruptions from electronic devices carried by the characters. Doesn't anyone under the age of 55 know how to temper their use of devices? If you would put the smart phones and smart watches away when you leave the office and enjoy at least one day a week without electronic interference, you would be happier and less anxiety ridden people.

Loving this Series

The second man in the bachelor pact falls in this book. It starts when Grayson attends an engagement party and ends up with wine on his shirt and a fake relationship with Roz. Except not long after things don't seem fake anymore. I really enjoyed the banter between Gray and Rod and it kept me smiling while reading. Plus the side story of Dani's dates are hilarious. I highly recommend if you are looking for a fun, fake relationship, billionaire romance.

Great chemistry

Book’s main characters were in competing dating businesses. Their chemistry was magnetic. The side characters’ antics were too silly for me. Especially considering this was a nook of 40 somethings

This was such an enjoyable book. The chaos going on throughout the story was so laugh out loud funny. It always happens just at the right moment when the two main characters are having a moment. The chemistry and banter between the characters makes this a really good romantic comedy. Highly recommend book, series and author!!
