The head-hopping in this one was even worse, as was the body count.

There is still something engaging about the men involved in these multiple different super undercover black ops assassin teams that keeps me reading however.

I can't put my finger on it but Reece writes deeply troubled and disturbed young men in such a way that I'm willing to put up with the strange editing choices to see them get their HEAs.

Still, I really do wish she'd find another angle for the damage over the sexual abuse that seems to be the default.

Oh and Wrath suddenly changed from being a former Navy SEAL medic to an Army one in this book...

At the beginning? I hated.
At the end? I loved.

After the first chapters, I was soooo annoyed with Rebel that I thought I won't be able to end this book. Some of my original thoughts on two fragments, although those were my thoughts for the first chapters tho:
1.
2.
So yeah, I was not a big fan of Rebel at first.
But then after he reconnects with Crow, I started liking him more and more. I even started to like Azrael and Boston here, even if they did only a little cameo (or here they weren't as unnerving as in the previous books lol). I hope that Azrael book (and maybe in the future Boston's?) will be another hit not a miss on my reading lists.

The action was good, the characters were ok, but my initial impression of Rebel and overall kind of shallowness of the characters (in other books we have a lot more descriptions/information about their pasts to connect with the characters more/on a deeper level, here it was missing a lil' bit). I think I had higher expectations for this book, which weren't necessarily met this time. Because of those things, I have to give 4/4.5 stars because I liked it, but there was a big BUT when I consider some aspects.

Also, I would have loved if we got to see Phoenix in action, not just a short "veni, vidi, vici" and there they went. Or even a longer collab between the teams, I do know that this book is not really about a team as Erebus Assassins mostly work on their own, but with Genesis tho? Oh man, I'd be down for reading that.

Pairing ranking:
1. Ice & Echo
2. Fisher & Justice/Wrath & Rogue
3. Crow & Rebel

Erebus is a company of non-military assassins under the direct order of the Secretary of Defense Dave and Genesis is their counterpart with all current or former military operatives. Unbeknownst to the SecDef, the Erebus’s original head was secretly running and back door group of assassins – children that he had kidnapped at a young age and abused and sometimes sold to predators. Savage has replaced Solomon and Rogue, one of the original child assassins grown up is now a member of Erebus. With the original six pair up, Dave’s attention turns to getting help for those that were still on the streets by getting them properly trained. Rebel was living at Dave’s estate with Boston and Azreal while he joined Erebus but decided there were too many rules, he clashed with Savage and he liked being on his own.
Cord, a Genesis operative, is sent to find Rebel, reel him in and get him to the ranch or training. Finding Rebel was not the problem but Rebel’s bad attitude, smart mouth and preference to go his own way. But finding out the woman he protected for years above all else was not only not his mother, but she also kidnapped him as a toddler and loaned him out. Going to work for a local drug lord turns out to be a big mistake and Rebel needs Cord to help him rescue a teenaged girl who is being held in the mansion and abused.
This is an ongoing series which now was forked off into the lives of some of the teenaged assassins. Technically this can be read as a standalone, but I highly recommend reading the other Erebus books first. And while you are at it you really should read all her books because they are loosely tied together as each series progresses. There are always plenty of cameos or better and it’s great to know the players.

I love these series and I was so happy that Rebel found love with Crow. He had such a horrible childhood and he seemed out of control when he left Erebus and went out on his own. Crow was sent to find him and bring him to the ranch. It seemed to be going really well until Crow told him why they wanted him back in Nevada and that he didn't want Rebel. Rebel ran away and unfortunately became a hitman for a local drug lord who was a monster who had taken a young girl as payment for a debt by her own father at age 14 and she was now 16 and still being brutalized. Rebel was biding his time and figuring how he would rescue Angel and then he did. You knew that there would be trouble when Crow commented on the bracelet Rebel wore and then they were attacked. The drug dealer took Rebel who was sure that Crow was dead. He was able to get the drop on him and one of the guards(delighted that the dealer lost an eye)and the others were able to track him to the new house and kill all of the guards but the dealer caught Boston(who wasn't supposed to be there) and wanted Rebel in exchange but Azrael was able to sneak up and stabbed him. The best part was when they were able to find his real mother(sadly his father had died already)and she was so accepting of his job as an assassin. Really looking forward to the next story.

Rebel is a tortured soul who just wants to be alone. He was sold as a child to a monster who liked to torture him. Rebel got his revenge in the end because he was also a trained killer. It’s the only thing he knows.

Crow who we have all been waiting for. He was put in charge of bringing rebel back to Texas to the ranch. He knows rebel is a runner and it doesn’t go well when he catches up with him. Rebel doesn’t want to be forced to follow rules and take orders. So crow and rebel play this cat and mouse game until they finally come together.

There passion is unmatched and crow is falling hard. Rebel wants crow but he has severe trust issues. Can these two finally come together and have that happily ever after?

This book is filled with passion, justice, past hurts, and love. You won’t want to put it down or have it end.

Rebel, a young and fiery assassin, values his independence and fiercely protects his mother above all else. Crow, a seasoned former Army Special Forces soldier, is assigned to bring Rebel under control but sees him as a troublemaker with a bad attitude. When life spirals out of control for Rebel, Crow attempts to help him rebuild. As their contrasting personalities collide, they must navigate whether two opposites like them can form a meaningful connection amidst the chaos.

This was a story full of emotions and feelings as the two men worked out a way to be together. As part of that they saw action around Rebel's Mum and a local drug dealer. Full of violence and action this was full of twists and turns. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

Rebel was one of the young men that was saved. When he started working with the group, he left after a week as he didn’t like rules. Crow was tasked in finding him as Rebel was named as a rogue. Crow found him and lost him a few times, but ended up finding him. Rebel started working for a baddie as he wanted to save a young girl in trouble. I love this world. There is lots of action, heat and chemistry between the MCs. Cannot wait to read the next book in the series.

This was surprisingly Meh. I've loved this series but this was several steps back to be honest. Several things: surely a bracelet that is a tracking device on one person is going to be the same on the next - Dummies for Assassins 101 surely? And what happened to Angel?? I know where she went but the reason she went became irrelevant so it felt incomplete. Maybe it's just me, but this book fell short of the usual fabulousness.

It was great to finally see Rebel get his HEA. The kids had it so rough. I just wanted to give him a big hug and fight all his enemies. I’m so happy that Crow didn’t give up on him and fought for him. It was great to see some familiar faces who’s stories I’m waiting to read and also ones I’ve already read and loved! Been waiting for Real and Az story for a while, so excited that’s up next!

The story broke my heart. I have been waiting for so long for this story and it did not disappoint. The emotions that the author pulled from me were so strong and so real. The pain that these characters felt, I felt. I have loved every series and every book by this author, but this one just about did me in.

Wrecked

In the last week, I have read some good fantasy and paranormal romances; but nothing beats this. I like well-written novels with action, violence when necessary. Thank you for “finding Rip”. Can’t wait for Real and Azrael to get together. But, come on, we fans have waited for-“f”ing- ever for Dave and Stone. Keep writing!!!

We met Rebel in previous books in the series and he comes from a traumatic past. His disappearing act added to his history makes him a bit of a loose cannon. Crow is tasked with reigning in the young assassin. The two do not get along and it makes for quite the game of cat and mouse. When Rebel falls into working for a dangerous criminal he must rely on Crow to escape. The two’s chemistry sparks quite the fire, and in spite of their differences they develop trust and friendship. When Rebel’s former employer does the unthinkable can Crow reach Rebel in time or Will their love story be cut short? Another excellent story of two assassins falling in love and finding lasting happiness.

Another brilliant story, this time Crow and Rebel are front and center. Rebel certainly lives up to his name and gives Crow run for his money. I love how Crow doesn't give up on him and when they realize what they have together sparks fly.
I highly recommend Reese's books and all of them.

Rebel, a young man full of distrust in people and Crow, the hardened ex soldier sent out to catch him. It's a cat and mouse chase to catch Rebel and Crow soon realises to not underestimate him.
When a new enemy pops up will Rebel be able to trust Crow and let him help?

Crow and Rebel may be my favorites in this series after this story! Loved everything about their connection and the overall plot kept me interested as usual for this authors' books. The mix of romance, action and dynamic plot never gets boring!

Rebel and Crow

Even though we've seen Rebel and Crow throughout this series, I wasn't as invested in them as a couple as the rest of the guys. I don't know if it's because of Rebel's age or because we just didn't see them as much but I'm still glad they got a happily ever after.

Just Wow

Never a dull moment or damsel left in distress. Survival isn’t enough, these boys fight to thrive. Accepting the good after scraping through the worst is a special kind winning.

18 and 30 age gap but in the cutest way. I'm non judgmental but there was absolutely no grooming of any kind. It was adorable. Very much needs to be in reading order of series
