One thing has become incredibly clear to Alexis and Kieran, if they hope to last in the arena of Demigods, they'll need a more robust defense team.

They must take two incredibly dangerous journeys, seeking the prized talents other Demigods would kill for. Except, there is a reason other Demigods don't have these magical workers--they are as ruthless as they are dangerous, and the last thing they want is to be on a Demigod's team.

If that isn't enough, Alexis has received an invitation from Demigod Lydia, the only Hades Demigod who hasn't openly declared war. She's talking like they could be allies, but those of Hades cannot be trusted. A trap is just as likely as a handshake. Still, it's a chance they must take.

Any one of these trips could be their last, but to back down would be the most dangerous of all.

Adapted from the novel and produced with a full cast of actors, immersive sound effects and cinematic music!

I'm on book 6 and wouldn't say it's an all time fav, but it's funny, entertaining and the characters are likeable. I don't ask much, I just want escapism.

Spoilers ahead

When I started this series I figured with 5 books the series HAD to be completed but nope book 5 brought some shockers and ended just as things were getting going. Now the wait begins for the next book but for now......

Alexis still irritates me, at this point I'd like to switch her for Daisy or Bria. I feel with her magic and enemies forever attacking she needs to be more badass and get a handle on her power, I mean we're 5 books in c'mon girl get your shit together!
Kieran is ok but the sexy times are lackluster for a selkie with sensual powers....all the "yes Kieran" sounds like a bad porno😂
Kieran using his skills on that woman earned him a soul punch, I don't care that he wasn't interested he needed to find another way
Daisy, Bria and now Red and Harding are what keep me loving these books
I'm officially hooked and hoping for more soon

*******Bria and Zorn need their own book as well as the other guys and Daisy, Mordecai and Red 😂

I love this series! I laughed, ugly cried, and swooned!

Can I keep Kieran for myself? I mean… he’s so damn perfect… mmm.

This book continues from where book 4 left off, which is when Kieran, Alexis, and the team decided that they needed to build their power in order to be prepared for any battles they will encounter. This means they have to search for magical people that will be an asset to their team. The first one they seek is a giant, but not just any giant, a giant that can move rocks and other earth element (JERRY!!!!). They go to his abode and encounter some animosity from him, so they need to be able to convince him. The next key player that they decide they need is a lightning rod, Dylan. Dylan has been out of the game, out of the picture, for a long time, to the point that they believe he’s been dead for a while. He’s a recluse and has been living his life away from the spotlight. Again, they need to convince him to join their team. Both of their stories are sad, and Jerry’s story made me bawl like a baby.

The freaking banter in this book… Oh my gosh, I was dying of laughter! The Six calling Jerry‘s name in the mocking nature that they did it in was everything! Poor Jerry! Jerry!. He just took it 😂😂😂. Bria and Daisy are always so damn hilarious!!! But the Six definitely shined in this book as well. When Alexis remembers Jack alive 😩🥺💔 *cue tears again* The gamut of emotions I felt while reading this book is a testament to how well it’s written and how invested I am in this series.

And of course, there’s the delicious Kieran. Oh Kieran 🥰🥰🥰. There weren’t nearly as many intimate scenes as I’d like, but the ones included were 🔥🥵. The last scene in the book was PERFECTION. I can’t wait to read the last book in the series (I’ll probably cry again).

Oh and the surprise character we get at the end of this book 😱. It makes me question what the hell is going to happen in the last book 😳😅. I can’t wait!!!

This left me on such a high that I can't wait to start the next book - though I'm equally gutted that it's the last one in the series. I'm not sure if I'm ready to let Lexi, Kieran, Bria, the Six, Daisy and Mordecai go just yet. I was captivated from the first line to the last, sneaking reads in any spare moment I had and reading late into the night to finish it. Of course I instantly regretted not taking my time to savour each moment, regretted not stretching the reading experience out as long as possible. I could live in this world, would live in this world given half a chance.

"Just wait until you consent to taking those cats around with you." Harding murmured, finally looking away. "You'll take strange to a whole new level. Death on a pale horse is for losers - give me a cat lady in her pajamas any day. You can ride next to Poseidon's Demigod on his goldfish steed."

The complexities of the plot and the sudden twists held me spellbound, every single reveal was totally plausible but I never found myself guessing them because is a master of misdirection, having me look in totally the wrong direction. Lexi's realisation regarding the "shadow man" at the end was a real shocker, as was the unexpected pronouncement/promise by Magnus. Every mention of Jack still breaks my heart a little and I'm still holding out for some kind of miracle on that one.

I really felt the love between Kieran and Lexi in this one, it was shown in so many little ways. Subtle hints, small gestures, passing touches all built a picture of utter devotion. My favourite scenes were always those that included Daisy and Mordecai, the latter was a little sidelined and I needed more of him, but this pair light up every scene they are in. We also get to meet some great new characters and some heinous villains, all of whom add depth and richness to the story.

"Stop talking or no more phone," I said through clenched teeth.
"I'm already on phone restriction."
"Then no more allowance. No more money. Or nice things."
"Just tell her you'll pick out her clothes for a week - that'll shut her up," Mordecai said.
Dylan looked slightly bewildered. We could derail anyone.

Fast paced, exciting and jam packed with a tumultuous range of emotions I don't think this book could have been any better.

This was one of the better books in this series! It started off slow but it got very interesting very quickly. I was on the edge of my seat by the end with how much suspense was in the air. It also felt like the overall pacing of the story was faster when compared to the others in this series.

Alexis was also very entertaining and interesting throughout this novel. We really got to see her shine where her powers are concerned. Though I wish we got more scenes with her actually training instead of her "doing what comes naturally". I would also love for her to get instruction on how she's expected to act in the presence of all-powerful beings just for the sake of decorum.

As powerful as we like to think Kieran is, this novel really showed how vulnerable he can be when not on guard. I liked seeing Alexis try to help him fight his battles and how amazing they are when they work together. I'm actually starting to like Kieran a little.

The ending was what made this book worthwhile! The intrigue the last few chapters provided makes me anxiously await the last book in this series. I really want to know what the guy has up his sleeves and if he's the big-bad that Kieran and Alexis will have to fight and beat in the last book.

The Audio Book:

The narration was good! Though the audio was fuzzy at times. The male voices still get me lost in conversations.

This book really redeemed the series again for me. It wasn´t as good as the first three were, but it was definitely better than the fourth book.
What I really loved were the two newly added characters, especially Dylan.
We have three POV´s again, with two of them frequent.
The banter and chemistry between the characters stays the same and is as good as the first three, with Jerry and Dylan added in beautifully.
With the new characters and also their trauma added to the mix, I would have loved to see some more representation about that and how it affects them and the group dynamic. But I guess this is criticizing on a high level.
The pace felt a bit slow at parts and I have to say that Kieran and Alexis sometimes tend to have sex in the weirdest moments.
The ending felt kind of complete, so I am curious to see what the sixth book will be about. To me it felt like the series could well be over after this book.

Overall it was an enjoyable, fun read and I am nevertheless excited for the sixth and final book in the series. I am looking forward to reading more about Dylan as well. (yes I am a bit in love)

Amusing, Horrifying & It Might Make You Bawl!!😉😳⚡💔😭
Sin & Lightning (Demigod of San Francisco #5)
By: K.F. Breene Audiobook 🎧
Narrated by: Khristine Hvam
Length: 10 hrs and 37 mins

There are recruits to be added to their team. Bria & Red disagree with Kieran's approach to the first one. So chaos will ensue whilst they bring along the 'in the dark' Lexi to get the job done!🙈😲😂 She's there, she's terrified, that's nothing new for her, so she'll do whatever she can to help Kieran!!🙏🙏 And so it goes on .... 😄

There is betrayal,💔 shame,😔 recruitments,🔪⚡ two giant house cats - yes, I said that!🐈🐈 But also hope of an Alliance.🍀 They need someone from the Hades line on their side, mainly to protect Lexi from her father, Demigod Magnus!😱 They try to account for every eventuality before the trip to Egypt for their meeting, but it takes a certain amount of blind trust in the end!🙏

So, this is, in turns, both funny as heck, cosy, full of the family fun & love they've all built together & of course romantic with some steamy bits!!😍🙏🔥 But then it's also nail-biting, freaky, scary & horrifyingly heartbreaking too!!😱💔😭 And all of this just as Lexi is finally learning more & more about her true powers.
You really won't know whether you're coming or going or whether your heart will survive it all.💖💥

Yet another unmissable & gripping book in this compelling series that is littered with characters that have crawled into our hearts & taken a hold!!😍⭐️

Khristine Hvam does another fabulous job with all of these characters.👏🥳🎧

Not the best book in the series. A lot of it dragged and I found myself skimming I was so bored. There was also too much telling and not enough showing, which is a problem I had with the previous books in this series. For example, everyone constantly talking about how possessive Keiran is. Ummm where? When has he EVER showed his possessiveness in this series? I really love their relationship and how solid it is, but the telling about the feelings and not enough showing them really gets me annoyed and bored of it.

Overall, there were some interesting parts, but i didn't really enjoy this book. I am hoping the finale will get better though.

Rollercoaster ride....Lexie done playing

I was actually between a rating of 4 and 5 stars throughout most of the book until close to the end. If you've enjoyed the others, you will love this one too. There were parts that I thought were a bit slow but for the most part it's heart pounding excitement. Alexis is maturing more and more so we get less comedy and the stakes keep getting higher. Looking forward to the last installment.

And of course the narrator was amazing as usual.

No initial review.

Re-read May 2020 - I can't believe I didn't originally write a review. What a shame ... because man, I loved this one. There was a lot going on, it was almost like 3 novellas together. But they were great, solid arcs that really gave us time to dig into our cast. I enjoyed the heck out of them. And then the grand act 3 finale was pretty epic.

I'm pretty sure that first time around, this was the book that landed this series on my favorites list.

4.5 stars.

To sum this book up, Lexi and her crew go in search of some rare magical talent to beef up their status and defense at the Magical Summit. Two very rare and powerful magical people are on their talent acquisition list. Can they accomplish the impossible?

I loved that even though it's been a while since I've read the first 3 books in the series, I was able to jump right back in with no problem at all. K.F. Breene's characters are fantastic, they all stick with you. Lots of hilarity, action, and romance. Bring some tissues for this read. Got a little weepy over a certain character.

The Demigods of San Francisco is Adult Paranormal Urban Fantasy Romance done right.

I received an ARC from the author, but that doesn't influence my reviews.

This series is honestly just getting better and better with each instalment. With Kieran trying to cement his place as the demigod of San Fransisco he needs to prove that he's powerful enough to hold the territory. He already had a strong team with his six but he still needs other powerful allies and preferably to get at least one of the other demigods on his side if he wants to protect not just the territory but also Lexi and her wards. Lexi has unusual but powerful magic and if Kieran can't prove himself then the other demigods are going to start fighting to steal her from him.

Lexi knows that Kieran needs more powerful magic users on his team and with the help of Bria she is determined to help him recruit some. Of course this involves putting herself in danger but she has a unique way of looking at the magical world that could be key in convincing some people that Kieran is a demigod worth allying themselves with. I actually really enjoyed seeing Lexi tracking down potential team member, she's really good at connecting with people and she will fight to the death for anyone she considers a friend or family member. There are some fab new additions to their team that we get to meet here and I'm really looking forward to learning more about them as the series continues.

However it isn't all plain sailing, and some enemies are very good at hiding their evil intentions. The whole team faces a lot of danger in this instalment and there were some heart stopping moments when it all comes to a head towards the end of the book. Things are definitely ramping up and I think the action is only going to build up even more as the series continues. It's definitely going to be interesting when we get to meet the rest of the demigods and I can't wait to see how much chaos Lexi and Kieran cause at the upcoming meeting. This series has definitely become a favourite and I'm sure fans will love this latest instalment!

2.75⭐️ These books are always super fun but this one felt incredibly filler-y? Like literally nothing happened, no development, no plot, besides the introduction of a few new characters🫤

HOWEVER, I do like our characters and the graphic audio eats…do with that what you will

Humour, action and Demigods

This is such a fun series to read - humour, action and Demigods. All my favourite characters from the previous books, the new challenges they face, and the recruitment of 2 new powerful characters keeps the storyline feeling fresh.

I love Alexis and Kieran, but Daisy and Mordecai have always been my favourite characters throughout this series. Daisy needs her own series at some stage ( please!! ). She's such a fantastic character with so much attitude and sass. She may not be magical but she stands out amongst all the magical and powerful characters.

This is such a brilliant series and this book was no different.

Action packed, but well paced with lots of character developments, it kept me on my toes throughout.

K. F. Breene writes fantastic characters and I love Kieran and Alexei, bit u think I love Daisy and Bria more. They need their own series'.

Just brilliant all round and I'm sad that the next book is the final one.

So very good!

I am actually a little sad that this is the second to the last book of the series. I've been loving catching up on the gang and also the new people they've added to their crew. I love all the danger, intrigue, and action in these books.

I'm off to read the last book of this series...

🌟Brief Summary:
This is a review for the entire 6 book series!!!

♥️This series is so underrated! I loved it like the entire series. It’s my new favorite and definitely a reread many times over in the future. It’s has everything and is so well balanced. This series has my heart and I will stand by the fact that for romance lovers, fantasy readers and safety readers as well it’s a must read.

✔️On point romance!!!!! No OPD no messing around with to much push pull, obstacles? Yes but these two are it for each other and we get to see them fall in love, grow and work together to defeat their enemies.

✔️Amazing cast of characters! I loved them all! EVERY SINGLE ONE! And that’s rare for me.

✔️Natural witty banter that isn’t trying to hard.

✔️Found family with cozy feel good family vibes.

✔️Urban fantasy world with magic and action.

✔️Characters who grow and change as the series progresses. I love taking the journey with them.

✔️A series that gets better with each book. I would say book 1 was my least fav and it just gets better from there. Also the first few chapters were a little weird to. I promise if you get past they it just gets better and the series as a whole is amazing!

Book 1 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
My least favorite cause it’s got the least romance but it’s needed to build the world and characters and is still highly entertaining and I love it. The romance is really lust based on this one but by the end there are definitely feelings starting to grow!

Book 2- ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Amazing! The romance has taken off! And the story and characters continue to grow closer as well as her magic! Sexy times happen to🥳

Book 3- ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Love! Our couple is SOLID! the sexy times are hot 🔥 and the face off with Valens is underway!

Book 4- ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
Now that they have defeated Valen new enemies emerge. Alexis is super rare and powerful and lots of demigods either want to control her or kill her. Keiren is trying to protect her at all costs.
😤 mild very mild OWD- Keiren has to flirt w OW to get info. He uses a trickle of his Selkie magic to get rid of her. He definitely handled this situation wrong. But he doesn’t want OW or do anything other then feed into the OW desires. She touches his arm and kisses his cheek. I didn’t like this scene at all or think he needed to go to these extremes but it was a learning lesson and he doesn’t do it ever again. Also it was a fast quick scenes and he was not enjoying it. She was a pest to him.
😭There is a few very emotional scenes in this one guys be ready!!!!

Book 5- ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This series gets better and better!
New characters join our crew. Keiren and Alexis are stronger then ever and damn do they love each other. He loves her soooo much ️♥️♥️. We find out more about who they can trust and who they can’t…. But can they really?

Book 6- ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
😭😭😭😭Why does this have to be over? I’m so sad… 😭
I love this series so much.
Ok so we definitely get a HEA but I wanted a epilogue that was just about Kieren and Alexis. I wanted their wedding and maybe a bit of life after the events wrapped up. I definitely think this book has less romances cause they are solid and working through some politics. I would have like more of them together. I did enjoy the fight scenes and seeing all the demigods and I like the twist at the end a lot.

🔪 Daisy -15 her ward and family

🐺 Mordecai- 15 her ward and family

☠️ Bria- a spitfire and amazing friend to Alexis

🔪Red-

🪨Jerry

⚡️Dylan

☠️💕Harding

⭐️Team 6-
Jack
Donovan
Henry
Bowman
Thane
Zorn

🥀 Hero:
Keiren- late 20 demigod
Powers from Poseidon and Selkie sex magic

♥️This guy is the definition of swoon! He’s strong and powerful but only vulnerable for and with the h! Ugh he’s so loyal and devoted and in love♥️ he solid and constant once the romance gets going he never runs from his feelings for her.

Keiren is a HOT 🔥MFer I love him.
-So he’s slow to the take at first I would say after book 1 is when he really shines in the romance swoon department.

-He extremely loyal to those he cares about and that’s a small number of people.
He’s powerful and looking to avenge his mother’s death and mistreatment. He wants to take his dad down!

-He’s NOT a Manwhore 🥳… experienced yes and maybe was a playboy in his youth but we don’t hear about or see him w anyone. We don’t know his sexual history.
-He’s NEVER slept In a bed with woman. He hit it and left. 💯
-He’s NEVER loved a woman or been in a relationship 💕
-He’s NEVER used his Selkie magic on a lover- 1 time when he was young he tried it and HATED how it controlled the OW so he never did it again till the h cause she can handle his magic ‼️

🦋 Heroine:
Alexis- mid 25 Ghost whisperer and other

-She is a strong woman who takes care of her two teenage wards. One non magical and a shifter who is deathly sick. She works hard to maintain their life and stay under the radar. 💕
-She has been taught to stay off the magical worlds radar she isn’t exactly sure why but she trusts her mom. ✔️
-She definitely has good principles and priorities. She is likeable and as she learns more about her magic and life she is good with rolling with the punches and doing what she has to for her wards. 🥰

-‼️She has an Ex who’s bar she goes to for free drinks. That guy is nothing he barely makes an appearance and there was no live there.

-💕She’s experienced sexually. No real history but she def had Multiple partners and says it has been a few months since she was last with anyone.

-As the series progresses she grows a lot and gets a lot more powerful.

💭 POV:
For the h first person
For everyone else third person
Mostly Alexis and Keiren POV

😡/😍 Angst level:
The whole range at different times but overall not overly angsty

❤️‍🔥 Sex & Burn Rate:
Book 1 - First kiss 77% with some mild fingering- no sex
Book 2- 40 something percent first sex scene.
Rest of the series has an average of 2 sex scenes per book.

🔥Loads of hot tension and chemistry throughout the series and a great build ups

🔥🔥🔥🔥 great sex scenes with lots of magic and intimacy!

🌓 Push/Pull:
Only mild and only in the first 2 books
She is unsure of him and dating a demigod
He wants to protect her

☠️ OW/OM Drama:
Mild OWD in book 4-
Very very mild OWD- Keiren has to flirt w OW to get info.

-Throughout the series both have OP who want them and flirt with them but neither are interested or receptive.
Both are very faithful to each other.

🤮 OW/OM Sex / Fluid or DNA Exchange:
None

🤬 Cheating:
None

👰🏼‍♀️ Virgins:
-Neither are V
-Both definitely experienced
h- She says it’s been a few months
H- No info on H last time- experienced but def not a Manwhore.
-Her ex gives her free drinks at his bar out of pity. There is nothing between them.
-Neither with ANYONE after meeting not even a desire for anyone else or interest

⛈️Separation/ 3rd Act Breakup:
None

🎧AUDIO
The ORIGINAL audio is amazing the narrator does such a wonderful job with the characters and emotions!

‼️‼️‼️The graphic audio is HORRENDOUS! I DNF!
IT COMPLETELY CHANGED THE CHARACTERS AND THE VIBES OF THE BOOK. It was cartoonish and made into a comedy. They changed so much that I had to DNF. Keiren and Alexis were completely different characters. ALOT was edited out when it came to their romance to.
HORRIBLE. It’s a completely different book if you do the GA! Be warned‼️‼️‼️‼️

Safety/Triggers🗡️:
No OPD
No sex with anyone after they meet
Death of a parent

🌈Epilogue:
No we get a epilogue for Daisy that will
Lead into he book I really wanted to see the wedding and get an epilogue for Kieren and Alexis even if only a few months after

🥂HEA:
Yes!!! ♥️ I did like the HEA they got

My opinion is just that… MY OPINION.❌
I know we all get passionate about our favorite reads and characters but we should respect each opinions a thoughts. ~Thank you

I'm in the minority with this one. I have liked this series up till this point. The first three books were 3 stars, and the last one was a 4 star for me, but this one I struggled.

I think it's because I felt like there wasn't much happening that was anything different from the other books. Maybe it's bugging me because this is the 5th book I've read over the last 2 weeks that I feel this. Series that are stretched out for no other reason than to stretch it out.

I'm glad that Kieran and Lexi finally moved their relationship forward more at the end of this one. I do love Mordecai and Daisy, but its just not enough for me to want to keep reading. I'm seriously considering walking away from this series even though there is only one book left. I'm just not sure it's going to be any different from what book 3 was when they took out Kieran's dad.

Oh Holy DemiGods! What an incredible story. As Alexis grows in character, as well as the other character development, the storyline and plot still blows me away! The danger, the power, the love, the overwhelming presence of family....the story is around Magnificent! With tender moments and moments of chaos! Beautifully crafted to drag you in and never let go!
