After a final mission that makes him question his leadership, and the loss of his only living relative, SEAL Jonah “Navy” Pierce decides to return home and create a new life for himself and fellow ex-military. Eager to get his plan started, Jonah’s focus is soon disrupted by an unexpected encounter with HVAC specialist Mackenzie “Mac” Edwards.
Mac moved to Silver Falls to escape an obsessive ex and live a quiet, drama-free life with her dog, Cinda. She’s content until she meets Jonah, the town’s hero, and feels a powerful attraction despite her reluctance to get involved again.
As Jonah and Mac grow closer, someone is watching them. When Mac is threatened, Jonah and his SEAL team step in to protect her, but sometimes, even all their resources aren’t enough.
Guarding Mac is the 1st book in the Guardian Series. Each book is a stand-alone, with no cliffhanger endings.
Note from the This book has some steamy content and may not be suitable for all readers.
Once I picked this book up, I couldn’t put it down no matter how low my eyelids tried to droop. While this kind of book isn’t something I’m usually drawn to, I couldn’t get enough of it. The story gets you from the beginning, leaving you itching to learn more about certain past events and new characters.
Of course, falling in love with Jonah and Mac is a no brainer, but what kept my nose in the book was Jonah’s team. Each of them a different person with a different nickname encapsulating their personality, yet each of them likable and fitting in in their own ways. My personal favorite was Phantom - with his seriousness and keen eye - but you’ll just have to read the book to know what I mean.
I strongly recommend this book to lovers of romance, new and interested readers, and even someone just looking for their next read, because trust me, you’ll get hooked.
More than excited to read the next in the series - Guarding Carmen. Time to fly through the next part of this incredible story!
This book was really good and a fast read for me. I read any books that involve military and FBI. It was hard to put down and read it in 1 day. The characters are well developed. looking forward to the next in this series.
