One man is possessed by a demon, the other a centuries-old vampire. Can they find love when they’re unknowingly mortal enemies? Hollen’s luck is running out. With a chatty demon named George trapped in his head, he can only hold down a job for a few days before getting fired. When he stumbles upon a strange teahouse that’s only open at night, he discovers demons aren’t the only perilous things in this world. Cruising through the monotony of his centuries-long existence, Munro’s life is forever changed when Hollen crashes into his teahouse, soaking wet and full of fire. But Munro has no idea that Hollen is haunted by George’s thoughts and that the demon will change both their fates. Secrets are carved into the wooden rooms of the teahouse, but none are so lethal as the ones of Munro’s and George’s pasts. A Sip of Sin is the captivating first standalone novel in the Lords of Sin paranormal, gay romance series.
M.C. Roth lives in Canada and loves every season, even the dreaded Canadian winter. She graduated with honours from the Associate Diploma Program in Veterinary Technology at the University of Guelph before choosing a different career path.
Between caring for her young son, spending time with her husband, and feeding treats to her menagerie of animals, she still spends every spare second devoted to her passion for writing.
She loves growing peppers that are hot enough to make grown men cry, but she doesn’t like spicy food herself. Her favourite thing, other than writing of course, is to find a quiet place in the wilderness and listen to the birds while dreaming about the gorgeous men in her head.
Munro is the head vampire for his area and he is thoroughly bored with life. Then a human enters his life, a human named Hollen and there's something different about him. He shares his body with a demon and his blood is delicious. It's a paranormal with a different edge to it and they are meant to be together. Munro and Hollen will give their all and the end is just the beginning. I received a copy of this book through Booksprout and this is my voluntary opinion.
Vampire romance is my must-read, I am (rather like a vampire and blood) drawn inexplicably to them and always find myself captivated by them. Add MM romance into the action, the mix, and wow, all my favourites in one. Those are some of the reasons I was drawn to this first title in the Lords of Sin series. I also love M.C. Roth's writing and I was fascinated by the storyline.
A human, possessed by a demon. A centuries-old vampire who owns a teashop.
The first, Hollen, is about to run out of luck. the chatty demon who has possessed him has been the cause of Hollen losing almost every job he has been able to find and he needs a job, he needs to look after himself and his best friend, they have no-one else.
The second, Munro, is cruising through his existence, it is hard when you have been alive as long as he has, are as strong as he is. He knows there are whispers of rogue vampires, hears the stories Rhys tells him, hosts vampires in his tea shop. But there is something missing from his life.
When Hollen practically falls into the teashop Munro wants to dismiss him out of hand, a human doesn't belong in a Vampire's tea shop, especially as humans don't really know about the paranormal beings living among them. But then George steps in, so to speak, and tells Hollen something he knows Munro will listen to. What none of them realise is that this is going to set in motion a sequence of events which could be the catalyst to more change than any are ready for. Munro and George have secrets, have pasts, which are going to catch up with them...
The story is thrilling. The fact that there are two worlds living alongside one another, the humans blissfully unaware of the vampires, for the most part. That there is a vampiric teashop, a vampire rebellion brewing, a friendship under pressure and a love potentially in the making all in the mix make this a heady read. Then there is the level of detail. It's amazing, kept me on the edge of my seat for most of the book. The characters are excellently developed to bring a range of relationships to the story, backgrounds are suitably varied, it is not always clear who can or even should be trusted.
M.C. Roth has certainly whet my appetite for more. I loved reading this first book and have a feeling the next is going to create even more waves in more than one world...
A Sip of Sin is the first book in the paranormal/vampire romance series, Lords of Sin, by MC Roth. This is dark MM romance that had me wondering until the end.
The story follows human Hollen. He once helped a cat and ended up being possessed by a demon that he calls George. George is actually quite funny and seems quite friendly - as friendly as a demon literally living rent free in a persons head may be described. Because of talking to George, Hollen has lost plenty of jobs. He finds a tea house to work out, only to discover that a powerful vampire lord runs the establishment! Now Hollen has to make his way around this new aspect of the paranormal world and somehow decide to do something about his intense attraction to Munro, the ancient vampire lord.
George and Munro do not particularly like each other, and so that leaves Hollen torn, because he wants to trust the vampire as well as the entity inside him. To top it off, George and Munro aren't the only dangerous paranormal beings in his life.
This is a dark romance, with twists and turns as we try to discover whether or not there is a true villain - either the demon George or the vampire lord, not to mention other vampires at the tea house. This darkness and mystery totally had me absorbed into the book as I worried more and more about Hollen. Hollen also has great chemistry with Munro, which combined with his age, shows that Hollen's entry into Munro's life is much needed breath of fresh air.

Hollen, a human possessed by a mischievous demon, is struggling to hold down a job and take care of himself and his best friend. Meanwhile, Munro, a centuries-old vampire and owner of a teashop, is drifting through his long existence, aware of whispers of rogue vampires but feeling something missing from his life. When Hollen stumbles into Munro’s teashop looking for work, Munro is ready to dismiss him—humans don’t belong in a vampire-run establishment. However, Hollen’s demon, George, reveals something that captures Munro’s attention, setting off a chain of events neither of them is prepared for. As secrets and pasts resurface, the brewing vampire rebellion and shifting alliances threaten to upend everything. This thrilling story masterfully weaves two worlds—one of humans, mostly oblivious to the supernatural, and one of vampires, steeped in mystery and conflict. With a richly detailed setting, complex relationships, and ever-present tension, the novel keeps readers on edge, never quite sure who can be trusted.
M.C. Roth has started this new series with a book that has all the tea you need about vampires and revenge and gives us lots of hints of where the series might go. Hollen has had a demon “George” in his head and keeping him safe for a long time. The two are both interesting characters and them arguing is often very funny and provides a good way of lightening up the story. I really liked Munro and the idea of a centuries old vampire running a tea shop for vampires who can’t even eat much of the food provided, but go just to be able to drink the tea and pick up the other type of tea. The flow of the story is great and I like the way things unfold. It got very interesting towards the end and there is plenty of scope for more from Roth about this group of characters. There are some intense and intriguing sex scenes, but not as much kink as in previous books that I have read by Roth in case that is what you are looking for. I will definitely be looking out for more of this series.

I’ve got to say, I was super excited as I haven’t read a vampire book in awhile, and this book did not disappoint. I’ll admit it took me awhile to get into the book and that’s the only reason I’ve given this book 4 Stars Monro is a vampire. And he runs a teahouse that caters for the paranormal one night whilst he was in the café a human comes walking in literally demanding a job. And there is something about this lad that Monro can’t let slip away. So he gives him a job and tells him to come back tomorrow. But what doesn’t know at this time is that Hollen has a Demon inside him. And he calls Demon George because his name is just so hard to pronounce now George is telling him to stay away from Monro because he’s a dangerous individual but Hollen is deeply attracted to Munro so he ignores George’s advice. Is that a good choice or bad?? I’ve got to say this is a dark read but it is one hell of a story.

This book had me hooked from the very first page! A Sip of Sin is an intense, beautifully written paranormal romance with an irresistible mix of demons, vampires, and dark secrets. Hollen, struggling with a chatty demon named George in his head, stumbles upon a mysterious nighttime teahouse run by Munro, a centuries-old vampire. Their connection is instant and electric, but fate has dangerous plans for them.
The atmosphere is dark and immersive, the tension between Hollen and Munro is sizzling, and the storytelling is absolutely gripping. M.C. Roth does an amazing job weaving together romance, supernatural intrigue, and deep emotional stakes. I couldn’t put it down, and now I need the next book in the series! If you love paranormal MM romance with rich world-building and intense chemistry, this is a must-read!.

The new series, Lords of Sin, is undeniably a masterpiece—brilliantly written, with a captivating blend of paranormal themes and vampires that is both dark and utterly intriguing.
After facing a string of job terminations, Hollen finds employment at a tea house run by the formidable vampire Lord Munro, who has wielded power for centuries. Hollen grapples with a significant challenge: a demon haunts his mind, gradually taking control of his body, making each day a struggle.
Despite this turmoil, Hollen can't ignore his intense attraction to Munro. Should he resist the pull or embrace what is being offered? Can he overcome the relentless voice in his head that continues to wear him down?
I loved the way that this book built a world that could be ours but with a lot more interesting people in it.
I loved how the side characters became as important or even more so especially Hullens friend Adair.
This also breaks stereotypes of not only the supernatural creatures but the human ones themselves. I loved reading about how much Adair loved to dance.
Also that brotherly bond between Amir and Hollen is as unbreakable as any two lovers ever known,
I hope there's more to this series.

What happens when a human, Hollen, who happens to be possessed by a demon spirit named George winds up working at a teahouse that is run by a powerful vampire lord named Munro. An attraction between Hollen and Munro is complicated by a dislike between George and Munro. Hollen has a lot to get used to from the paranormal and these two are not the only ones that inhabit his world. This is such cool start to this series and I am looking forward to seeing what happens as it continues.

This is the first book in a new paranormal series by one of my favourite authors, and it didn’t disappoint. Munro, a vampire, runs a tea room that serves as a meeting point for local vampires, and when Hollen, a human possessed by a demon, stumbles in looking for work the intrigue begins. The author has done an amazing job of world-building and all the characters are complex and well developed. The story is both interesting and suspenseful as secrets are revealed about the characters. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and can’t wait for the next tale in the series. Highly recommended.
It was very entertaining to read the conversations between Hollen and George, the demon in his head!
Add in a centuries old vampire - mortal enemy to George - and the combination is amazing!
Loved the characters. The world building was incredible - so detailed you can picture it. And the storyline is just so different... it is exciting and captivating. Loved it!.

So it took me a bit to get into this book but when I finally got into it, I really enjoyed it. Munro and Hollen are sweet together, and George kind of grew on me. Not going to lie I kind of hope George and Adair get together. That is, if George is around still. I was very intrigued by Eerie and his wolf mates, maybe we’ll get to meet them as well. Either way, I’m looking forward to the next book.

4.5 stars. A strong and unique story with some very interesting plot twists. It was really difficult to figure out who exactly could be trusted more, as they all had their own agendas. George/Gorgo, the demon, was the most unusual part, I hope that he will find some happiness in the future. There was obviously a lot more to this world than was exposed in this book, and I'm really looking forward to the next.
Book 1 in a cracking new series Lords of Sin. Hollen and Munro are excellent charismatic characters and the interaction between them - amazing. Not saying too much more as spoiler alert, Read the book - it's well worth it.
