He’s the most powerful man in Dublin, and he’ll do anything to keep what’s his.
Madelaine Moneta is a survivor. She fought her way up from the streets of Chicago to claim a spot at one of the top-tier criminal defense practices in the city. When the looming shadow of the local mob threatens to engulf the firm, Madelaine makes a life-altering decision.
Carrying her mother’s ashes, she escapes to Ireland, intent on starting anew in her mother’s homeland.
Dublin seems the perfect place to reinvent herself until Tag Quinn—a dark and dangerous charmer at the local pub—sets his sights on her.
Tag Quinn is trouble. As leader of the Quinn family, he is the Irish Mafia.
He is a man who takes what he wants, and what he wants is her. Torn between her desire for freedom and the seductive pull of a man who claims her soul, Madelaine is thrust once again into the throes of the criminal underworld she sought to leave behind.
Dublin Rogue is Book 1 in the Emerald Shadows Mafia series. A why choose / Dark Mafia Romance full of heat, betrayal, and survival that will take your heart hostage and never let go. Each book is a standalone with a HEA. This is a spicy Dark Mafia, enemies to lovers, forced proximity romance, which features scenes of a violent nature as well as those of an explicit sexual nature.
Irish mafia + Joe Arden as the narrator = a double win!
This was my first experience with Jenn Madore and Carolina Mac’s writing. I was hooked immediately. Joe Arden always does an exceptional job when it comes to Irish accented MMCs. He nails the many emotions that Tag goes through. His different voices for the multiple main characters made it easy to distinguish between who was talking. Mia Madison is new to me and it took a bit to warm up to her. At some points her dialog was much slower (I listened on regular speed) and it felt the story was dragging a bit. Once I got about 55% of the way through it was better. I will say her Irish accent was amazing and I found myself liking her more with the Irish women characters.
Madelaine has fled to Ireland with her mom’s ashes. She needed to get away from the trouble knocking at her work’s door and fast. Wondering into a pub one night has her locking eyes with a man she is immediately drawn to.
Tag Quinn is the new leader of his family and once he sets his sights on Madelaine there is no escaping. When trouble walks into the pub the night of their meeting he isn’t letting her out of his sights. Suddenly the man who has never taken any woman to his home has her staying with him.
Their attraction is instant and intense. He will protect her at all costs. I loved how Madelaine fits so perfectly into Tag’s world, like she was born to be by his side. He may be the head of the Irish mafia but when it comes to those he loves his sweet side comes out.
Okay, so I had a lil break in between arcs finally!
Wooooweee
This felt so much more spicier then book 2 and had just as much action, maybe more? Absolutely LOVED LAINE for a FMC. One resilient, independent and strong willed woman for sure. The dynamics between Tag and her were so fun to watch unfold.
I will definitely be finishing this series as I love reading about the Quinn empire and how each brothers story will take place 🙂↕️ These books are really easy, short reads that have me entertained!
Dublin Rogue is the kind of fast-paced, high-stakes romance that pulls you in from the very first chapter and refuses to let go. A delicious blend of Irish mafia intrigue, intense chemistry, and gripping storytelling, this book delivers everything I love in a dark romance.
Tag Quinn was absolute perfection. Gruff, intense, and yet surprisingly sweet, he embodied the perfect balance of danger and devotion. Taking over as the king of the Quinn mafia after his father’s death, he carries the weight of his family’s legacy on his shoulders, and I loved every second of watching him navigate that power shift. And then there’s Laine O’Neill an absolute spitfire. She crashes into Tag’s world with sharp wit and unwavering determination, proving she’s more than capable of holding her own. Even with danger lurking in her past, she never backs down, and the instant connection between her and Tag crackled with tension and heat.
And then there’s the audiobook. What more can be said? Joe Arden with an Irish accent. Absolute. Perfection. His performance completely elevated the story, adding layers of depth and raw emotion to Tag’s character. Every word, every growl, every moment of intensity was delivered flawlessly. This was my first time listening to Mia Madison, and she was just as fantastic—her portrayal of Laine captured every ounce of her fierce, driven nature. Together, their narration made this story impossible to put down.
Fast-paced, intoxicating, and brimming with tension, Dublin Rogue is a must-listen for anyone who loves a gripping mafia romance. I devoured it, and I already know it won’t be my last Jenn Madore & Carolina Mac book.
This was my first time reading or listening to anything by Jenn Madore and Carolina Mac and I was hooked from page one. Laine and Tag were just meant to be…their attraction was instant and intense! He will do whatever it takes to protect her. I love how Laine just fit right into Tag's world, like she was born to be by his side. Tag may be the head of the Irish mafia but when it comes to those he loves, his softer side comes out and he doesn’t mess around. Dublin Rogue was a perfectly fast paced listen, filled with the right amount of plot, suspense, action, and romance!
This was performed in duet by Mia Madison and Joe Arden. Mia Madison was a new to me voice and it me a bit to warm up to her but once I did, I was hooked. I will say, her Irish accent was phenomenal and I thoroughly enjoyed hearing her voice all the female characters. And then there’s Joe Arden…he always does an exceptional job when it comes to voicing mafia and/or accented characters. He really showcased the various emotions that Tag deals with throughout the book and his different voices for the multiple male characters made it easy to distinguish between who was talking. I can’t wait to listen to more from this amazing writing duo!
The audiobook version is where it is at if you’re going to go for this book. Joe Arden does an Irish accent like no other. This is the first in a series about 5 brothers, Irish organized crime brothers. The story progresses nicely, there is a HEA without OM/OW drama. Spice is open door and well done! 🌶️
Great Story & Narration🎧An Intriguing & Thrilling Mafia Romance!
Dublin Rogue Emerald Isle Mafia Series, Book 1 By: Jenn Madore, Carolina Mac Narrated by: Mia Madison, Joe Arden
This is a fantastic dark mafia romance, a gripping story with twists and turns that is hard to pull away from because you need to know what happens next. Madelaine Moneta, an attorney in Chicago working at her husband’s law firm, her marriage has been an empty one, and she has been planning her out, which comes unexpectedly, but she jumps on the opportunity. Taking her go bag with her new identity and funds, she heads across the pond to the Emerald Isle, to where her mom was from. Her first night, she runs into trouble at the pub and he goes by the name of Tag Quinn, who turns out to be the head of an Irish mob family. The Quinns just lost their father and Tag stepped up to run the empire and there are other mob families making power plays, but he is not having it and he wasn’t letting his new found beauty get caught up in a family war, so she had to go with him. There were some questioning the timing of her arrival and wondering if she was a plant, but Tag was protective of her and she fit right in to his world and with the other Quinn brothers, especially Finn, who I adored. I loved all the layers of this story and how it all played out, with the perfect balance of drama, angst, action, thrilling suspense, heartfelt emotions, and steamy romance. The writing, plot and world building are fantastic, as are the character growth and development. Jenn Madore and Carolina Mac, thank you for this amazing story, start to a new series and the wild ride.
🎧📚🎧 Mia Madison and Joe Arden did an amazing job voicing these characters, humanizing them with their personality and were believable in their roles. Arden was a natural with the Irish accent and his portrayal of Tag was spot on, playing the perfect alpha boss, attitude included, yet not afraid to show his softer and caring side. Madison was fabulous in Lainey’s role, bringing out her fierceness and strength. Both were fantastic performing the roles of the secondary characters too, accents and all. They are entertaining storytellers and their performance takes the already amazing story to another level and keeps you glued to it from the beginning to the end.
Quinns of a Irish are dangerously sexy band of brothers following the Quinn Laws to the Q There's is a Robinhood type mafia run in Dublin who are criminals but keep the population safe and protected. Brother Tag is the head, a calm and cool leader, protecting everybody under his wings. Then barges in the bar, a girl running for her life, mother's urn in hands. Madelaine Moneta bumps into tag and shamrocks glitter all around them I liked the writing, my only problem...no background story of Laine was given in detail. Why did she feel she had to escape with 60,000 hidden in duffel in secrecy. But spills all to Tag. No escape, no witpro like melting into invisibility. She's pretty comfortable jumping from frying pan into the fire. From Chicago mafia to Irish mafia, she's pretty ok with it. Her character could've been built more. More danger could've been thrown in. Also the beef between Quinn and Rival gang- Mcguires wasn't shown with intents & purposes. Where did Siobhan come from, where did she go....🤷 Good writing, lacking in plot development. That's all Brilliantly narrated by Mia Madison & Joe Arden 4 stars for Da Follow me on: Email🌻 Bookbub 🌻 Twitter🌻 Instagram🌻 Blog🌻 Facebook🌻 Amazon 🌻
MMC Tag Quinn FMC Madeleine (Laine O’Neil) ❤️Tropes: Irish mob, FMC running/secret identity, she’s a baddie lawyer 💪, instalust, possessive MMC, no 2nd or 3rd act break up 🙌 📍Setting: Dublin, Ireland 💁POV: duel, 1st person 🖤Darkness level: 3/5 🔥Spice starts at 10% 🌶️Spice 3/5 📚Plot 4/5 🌎World building 4/5 ⚠️Triggers: vi0lence, murd3r, some OWD & OMD but the MC’s aren’t into it 🤷♀️ take that as you will 🙃
Completed series!! I read this on KU with the Audible Companion and 🙌. Super fun audio, duet narration with JOE ARDEN with an Irish accent 🔥🤤
It was a pretty quick, fun read at 256 pages The story starts off pretty quickly, Madeline is married and her husband is somehow involved with the Chicago mafia, who comes to their house to kill them both. One of the mafia men helps her escape (what ever happens to him?!!) and she ran off to Ireland with a new identity and to spread her mom’s ashes. Then, basically the first thing she does is go to an Irish pub, because… of course you do! And she meets the eyes of Tag across the room. Once they disappear to his office for a little hanky panky, all of a sudden the pub gets shot up by a rival clan.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book for what it was. A quick, fun, spicy and suspenseful read. The writing was great and flows well. The plot and suspense were fun - yet somewhat predictable, but I still enjoyed it! ✨ something that I appreciated is that even though there was some OWD/OMD and potential for miscommunication- there wasn’t!! I love when couples can have clear communication and just trust/talk it out 🙌
Love Irish Mafia? Love amazing chemistry between two absolutely intense characters? Love an Irish accent? Then stop what you're doing and grab this one up! It is my first one by these talented authors and I'm already anticipating the next one!
I adored Madelaine's character! She is a strong willed woman, trying to escape her troubled past and winds up in Ireland. I loved the way she gave as good as she got! It couldn't have been easy! And, when meets the head of the Irish Mafia.....wowzers! It was on! Tag Quinn. Oh how my heart absolutely 𝙢𝙚𝙡𝙩𝙚𝙙 for him. He's powerful and he knows it. But, one moment in time, one look at the female that entered the pub.....and 𝙝𝙚 melts for 𝙝𝙚𝙧, and her alone.
𝐽𝑜𝑒 𝐴𝑟𝑑𝑒𝑛 & 𝑀𝑖𝑎 𝑀𝑎𝑑𝑖𝑠𝑜𝑛 absolutely brought it with this duet narration! The Irish accents are absolutely spot on. Each character they narrated were easily distinguishable, giving each one their own voice. The emotions are beautifully executed by these talented narrators and lent so much talent to this story! A beautiful pairing!
This story is filled with insanely heated, spicy chemistry. It's dark, Tag is absolutely protective of Laine, and the twists that follow their story was masterfully chiseled! From enemies to lovers to forced proximity to hot Irish men......𝑫𝒖𝒃𝒍𝒊𝒏 𝑹𝒐𝒈𝒖𝒆 absolutely needs to be on your radar!
We have a @bluenoseaudio AUDIOBOOK RELEASE on 3.17!

🍀Dublin Rogue book 1 in the Emerald Isle Mafia series by @jlmadorewrites and @carolinamac5591 comes out in audio on 3.17!!
Duet Style Narration by: @therealjoearden and @miamadisonreads
Who doesn't love a good irish mafia zaddy?! Couldn't get enough of our FMC Madelaine who is one badass chick who escapes to Ireland and runs into our MMC Mafia King Tag Quinn. He's trouble and she knows it. This can't end well or will it? I ate this audio book up in one sitting! I couldn't get enough! I can't wait for the next books to come out on audio and listen to the brothers stories!
🍀He’s the most powerful man in Dublin, and he’ll do anything to keep what’s his. Tag Quinn is trouble. As leader of the Quinn family, he’s the King of the Irish Mafia.
Dublin Rogue is Book 1 in the Emerald Isle Mafia series. A Dark Mafia Romance full of heat, betrayal, and survival that will take your heart hostage and never let go. Each book is a standalone with a HEA. This is a spicy Dark Mafia, enemies to lovers, forced proximity romance, which features scenes of a violent and explicit sexual nature.
If you love fast-paced Irish mafia romances packed with spice, Dublin Rogue is your next obsession! From the very first moment, I was hooked by the sizzling chemistry between Laine and Tag. Their connection? Instant. Their banter? Electric. Their story? Absolutely addictive.
Jenn Madore and Carolina Mac masterfully keep the momentum going, delivering a perfectly paced rollercoaster of danger, passion, and intrigue. Just when I thought I could catch my breath, they pulled me right back in, leaving me desperate for more! If you love bad boys with a brogue and heroines who hold their own, Dublin Rogue is a must-read!
And the audiobook? Pure fire. Mia Madison and Joe Arden bring Laine and Tag to life in the best way possible. Joe nails the Irish bad boy vibe, making it impossible not to fall for Tag from the get-go. His brogue? Swoon-worthy. His demands of Laine? Blush-inducing. Meanwhile, Mia brings just the right amount of strength and vulnerability to Laine, making their chemistry explode through the speakers. This performance takes an already thrilling story and makes it absolutely unforgettable!
Laine isn’t just a heroine, she’s a survivor. Leaving behind the mob-filled streets of Chicago after tragedy, she carries her mother’s ashes to Ireland with hopes of a fresh start. But fate has other plans in the form of Tag Quinn, a man who is both salvation and damnation wrapped in one dangerously alluring package. As the King of Dublin’s underworld, Tag is dark, possessive, and impossible to resist—even when Laine knows she should.
And the narration? Absolutely next-level. Mia Madison brings Laine to life with depth and emotion, while Joe Arden’s Irish brogue as Tag is chef’s kiss perfection. Every word he delivers drips with dominance, charisma, and danger.
This book has it all: betrayal, survival, steam, and heart-thumping tension. I can’t wait for the rest of the Emerald Isle Mafia series—if this is how it starts, we’re in for one hell of a ride.
Madelaine “Laine” and Teague “Tag” have an interesting love affair. Laine leaving the USA to escape her dangerously chaotic life and husband only to find a tall strong brooding man capable of much worse than her problems in the USA. I would consider this a short read. The timeline from meeting each other to deciding their fates seemed to be over the span of 1 month? Let me say: they hit everything sooooo fast with not enough detail to get the richness of the characters to come alive. Yes their personalities were easy to grasp and there was whitty banter, but I belive another 100 pages would have helped this story. Expand the timeline, slow down their insanely quick trist to love and heat up the intimacy a bit more. Laine comes off as a girl that knows what she wants cautiously, but of Tag goes for the “lets fuck”, Laine is 100% game and doesn’t bat an eye. The fact she didn’t try to run away when the story made it she constantly may try was frustrating. Would have been a good fight/kidnap scene to add to their timeline. Wouldn’t reread.

I read this book based off a Facebook post in Sadie Kincaid's group. I often struggle with an insta-love romance, and this was not an exception. It wasn't handled poorly, it's just not my cup of tea. Keep that in mind when reading my review. I did think Laine and Tag were both lovable characters. He was protective, but not in an over the top way. I didn't necessarily think he made the smartest choices, considering he didn't know her, but he wasn't terribly reckless. I couldn't blame his second in command for how he reacted to their relationship. I liked the brothers and their interactions with both Laine and Tag. I read Dublin Devil and I plan to read the twins' stories once the 2nd one is released. Overall, this was a pretty light mafia read which I do think you'll enjoy especially if you haven't read a ton of mafia romances. The ending was a little weird as far as pacing. I mean, yes, Tag and Laine technically got a happy ending, but the way this one ended really didn't make this a true standalone in my opinion. The plot very much continues into book 2, as it was not resolved in this one. I enjoyed this and plan to finish the series!
Madelaine Moneta is a survivor. She escaped her life in Chicago after the looming shadow of the local mob threatens to engulf the firm she wants to claim a spot in. She flees to Ireland carrying her mother's ashes to fulfill her wishes. There she decides to live a new life. Now living in her mother's homeland of Dublin, Madelaine runs into Tag at the local pub. Tag is the leader of the Irish mafia. He takes what he wants. When she gets thrown back into the crime world Madelaine will have to decide between freedom or love.
Jenn and Carolina are new to me authors. I loved their writing style. The story grabs your attention right from the first chapter. I loved how fast paced it was. The characters were very interesting. When Tag and Madelaine first meet there's insta lust between the two. I felt their chemistry and I loved that they didn't take long to admit their attraction and romantic feelings for eachother.
As for the audiobook narration, it's so good! Performed in duet by Mia Madison and Joe Arden. These two were amazing! Mia is a new to me narrator. I loved her voice. She conveyed Madelaine with a soft, delicate tone that was still stern with a bit of attitude too. Joe had a great Irish accent. He conveyed Tag with a deep, raspy voice. Together they captured Tag and Madelaine's personalities. The transitions were seamless and I loved the range in tones. Overall, I enjoyed it!
Audiobook Release Date: March 17, 2025
Thank you to @bluenoseaudio for the ALC and for the opportunity to review and listen.
If you know me you know my reader heart lies with mafia romance most of all. Make it Irish Mafia and I’m instantly in love. Dublin Rogue was absolutely no different. I loved this book from the very beginning and devoured Laine and Tag’s story. Escaping her former life, Laine escapes to Ireland and gets much more than she bargains for when meeting Tag Quinn in a pub.
This is my first listen with Mia Madison and loved her as Laine! Joe Arden once again proves himself as one of my favorite narrators with his performance of Tag.
Dublin Rogue by Jenn Madore and Carolina Mac is book one in the Emerald Isle Mafia Series. Narrated in duet by Mia Madison and Joe Arden. Produced by Blue Nose Audio
Tag and Laine are amazing, with no 3rd act breakup and a electric storyline I am so excited to see what book 2 brings.
I love a story that’s different, whether that’s a different culture or part of the world, different story line or different tropes, but this one just hit different, based initially in the states specifically Chicago Laine finds herself on the run from her past life, she finds herself in Ireland where her mum was originally from and decides that she wants to scatter her mums ashes there, unexpectedly her first evening in Ireland leaves her running into Tag, their super strong electrifying magnetism towards each other is set a light from the first touch. The story develops and grows and they conquer battles together as stated with no third act breakup, this book was just chefs kiss.
This is the first of a series of standalone books about the Irish crime brothers Teague (Tag), Sean, twins Brendon and Bryan, and Finn. This is Tag's story.
Tag (the Dublin Rogue), has taken over the family business since his dad's death recently, although all the boys are involved. Tag meets Laine, who has run to Dublin from her life in Chicago. She is an attorney, along with her philandering husband. She has some inkling of knowledge that her husband and father in law have some dealings with the law. When there is a home invasion, she escapes but she has no idea what becomes of the two of them.
This story involves sexual situations, violence and alpha males that are very loving and take care of the women in their lives. I can't wait to read about the rest of the brothers.
Dublin Rogue is book 1 in the Emerald Isle Mafia Series. While each book is an interconnected stand alone, there is an overarching plot to the series. My suggestion and recommendation would be to read in order. Each book follows one of the Quinn siblings and their love interest. You will get an HEA with each book.
I listened to this book on Audio told in duet style narration. The Narrators are Joe Arden and Mia Madison. The story starts off with a bang and never stops. You all know how my love for Joe as a narrator is never ending. His performances always hit the mark and his accents along with his emotional performances are alway perfection. Mia is new to me and this is my first book audio book I have listened to with her as a narrator. Her performance was great and was perfect for the main character of Laine. Together, both Joe and Mia took this story to another level. I enjoyed the story and cannot wait for book 2.
Irish mafia ? Yes please This story was amazing. You are thrusted right into the action from the beginning.
Our FMC. Is fleeing when she finds an incredibly attractive man who she decides could be the good time she needs. That is until the gun fight breaks out and she finds out he’s actually part of a mafia family and she’s right in the middle of a war.
Whew . I love a possessive MMC and this man had it alllllll.
Absolutely devoured this book in one day, the ending left me craving more from the series .
Joe & Mia were absolutely incredible. Their accents were too notch

When she refuses , she experiences a physical and attempted schmexual assault . After running away she ends up on his side of the bridge , hanging on to life by a thread . I knew i was in for an Irish treat before i got through chapter one! The story of Quinn and Laine is intense, gripping and thrilling. Joe Arden did a phenomenal job with Quinn’s character, I love me an ethical mobster with Irish brogue who is tough as nails but soft for his loved ones. Mia Madison was a wonderful surprise and she portrayed Laine’s grit and passion brilliantly. The insta-lust is woven into a tale of gang rivalry, danger and secrets that kept me engaged till the closing credits. I cant wait to listen to the full series!
This was a well written Irish mafia story, with a fast paced “taken” romance, where it was instant attraction for both but instant obsession for the MMC! After being swept away to hiding with the MMC after a gunfight, the FMC slowly starts to fall for him after their first hookup. I listened to the audio book produced by BNA for this and enjoyed it a lot! Joes narration is always on point, I like the female narrators voice but sometimes she just sounded like she was reading off the pages. All in all it was great narration and a great story! So if you like Irish mafia romance, this is for you!
New genre for Jenn Madore, but the wonderful quality writing is the same. Loved this first book and couldn’t put it down I just had to know how it ended. Tag and Laine have an insta love going on, the action and the danger just keeps coming from different directions, but doesn’t tear them apart. Tag is a villain with a conscience and Laine gets him totally. Loved it.
This is a thrilling start of a fantastic new series. While Dublin is new to Laine, she has a lot to learn and what a way Tag shows her! Tag and his brothers gather to protect Laine from her past but also her future. Dublin is in good hands. Talk about edge of your seat and staying up all night, then you'll definitely want to read this one and mark your calendar for Dublin's Devil! That little teaser is going to drive you crazy!
Who doesn't love an Irish mafia MMC "Tag head of the family' Mixed with a strong American FMC "Laine", you have the perfect fit. This is full of plot for the rest of the series.
The story was good, very fast paced, They had chemistry from the get-go, diving straight in. a bit light on the mafia world side of things, it focuses more on the relationship of the Main characters, I would call this a prequel of sorts to introduce you to the Quinn family, who they are in the family business, I'm really looking forward to getting to the rest of the Quinn brothers stories.
That narrators were on 🔥 perfect really bring the story together. Joe arden Irish accent perfection.
If you love a face-paced romance, then this one is for you.
Tag Quinn takes one look at Laine O’Neill and knows that she should be his. He is the king of the Quinn mafia and he carries his family legacy. She is a challenging spit fire that keeps him in line and I was here for it!
The narrators of Joe Arden and Mia Madison were perfect for these roles. Joe knows how to make the listener swoon over his Irish accent and thats exactly what I did!
