What does it mean to be Human?

It’s an essential question that we seldom stop to consider in our fast-paced age of life hacks and filters. If headlines are anything to go by we seem to be suffering from a kind of species-wide amnesia as to the reason for our being.

We’re restless.

Reaching for superficial satisfaction to plug the leaking holes in our existential buckets. It’s a strategy that’s bound to fail. The ache we’re trying to soothe, that burning in our bones, is crying out for substance, not selfies.

It is the symptom of our deepest longings for the eternity from which we were made. Longings for Goodness, Beauty and Truth that, if we give them our attention, can lead us home.

Poetic and so beautifully written. Fantastic artworks magnificently balanced throughout. I understand that it is important to have the pause moments and that many will find it helpful (questions and reflections between the chapters). But for me it took something away (interrupted) my own experience. Less is more, and sometimes we just need to let people sit with what they read and figure it out themselves. Because the content is wonderfully written, one needs a bit of breathing space instead of feeling cornered with too many questions. Other than that, pretty amazing. Well done!
