State Within Light: The Path to Enlightenment
Enlightenment is the end of suffering.
Most people accept suffering as an inescapable part of the human experience, never asking if there is another way. For centuries, the path to enlightenment has remained mysterious and confusing, like an exclusive club for spiritual elites.
State Within Light makes enlightenment simple and attainable to spiritual seekers at every level. Author Keith Crossley outlines a clear path to transcend your ego and end your suffering. In the process, you'll discover who you truly are, learn how to live in harmony with reality as it is, and fulfill your highest potential as an enlightened being.
The path to enlightenment has predictable signposts and milestones, as well as a final destination that can be described, but must ultimately be experienced. Whether you're just beginning your spiritual journey or you're a seasoned master, this book unveils the principles and practices needed to transcend the limitations of the mind and experience higher consciousness. The state of enlightenment is not magic or hyperbole. It's a set of spiritual skills that you learn and practice until it becomes your permanent state. Enlightenment is for you.

As of this moment, this book has no reviews in GoodReads, so I feel the need to share my thoughts about it. I’m not sure I’m good enough to write good reviews (this is true irony after reading this book) but I’m going to try.
First, I want to tell you how I found this book because I think it’s a great path for knowing if this book will be valuable to you:
The author, Keith Crossley, was a guest on Jack Osbourne’s podcast called Trying Not to Die. You can watch it for free on YouTube or listen to it for free on all the platforms. It’s a fantastic interview where he talks about his life and a little bit about this book. If you find this podcast to be interesting/helpful, you’ll find big value in reading his book! If you don’t, then you won’t.
I deal with severe depression and anxiety. I have my whole life. I’m doing everything I can to figure out how to get better. I’ve had therapists, tried medications, nothing really helped.
Keith’s interview and this book have planted some seeds within me that I think will help me recover from my issues. I’ll update this review after some time and experience on if I have succeeded. For now, I need to sit and think about a lot of things, and change my perspective, and change how I think. This book taught me how to do this. I feel hopeful and excited for the first time that I can actually recover from depression.
But this book also gives really good perspective on life and the universe. It’s spiritual in nature. Keith included a lot of quotes by Jesus and Buddha that I found comforting and interesting.
So overall, I recommend this book for anyone wanting to learn more about life, and anyone who has struggles they’re looking to overcome. It is will written and very helpful.
I think I give it 4 stars out of 5 since the subject matter is very deep and hard to completely understand. Keith does a fantastic job writing it. But within my own brain, there were little parts that were hard for me to understand. I will be re-reading this book, probably multiple times. Overall I probably give this 4.5/5.
I am very grateful for this book. Keith, if you read this, thank you so much! I really can’t thank you enough.
