Listened to this book on Spotify thinking it was a different one. Not impressed with the message of your worries and stresses are so small in comparison to the grand scheme of the universe, so you shouldn’t worry about them. Very repetitive and audiobook was very choppy making it hard to listen to. If it was any longer, I would not have taken the time to finish.
I thought this was going to be more enlightening. Fairly repetitive and kind of clunky. A few good nuggets early on but then basically just telling me not to conform to societal norms. There are probably better books out there for development.
This offers a really good road map on how to keep your peace and change the view so you have a more enjoyable life. This book made me aware to the amount of anxiety I have in my day to day and offered tools to help battle that.
Decided to give this book a listen after seeing it was included in Spotify premium and was relatively short. For the first few chapters, I felt that the narration was a bit off but decided to keep going. There were several phrases and lists that did not sound very natural coming from the narrator, so I decided to see who narrated it. “Narrated by the Author”. I thought this was strange given the author photo seemed to be a woman and this voice seemed very masculine. At the risk of being judgmental and not knowing anything about the author’s identity I decided to continue. Then, halfway through, it hit me. This book was most certainly written and narrated by AI. At the end it tries to sell you on purchasing the “30 Day Plan”, so basically this book is a huge UNDISCLOSED AD! Don’t waste your time!
Great self help book! Personally used these tactics when I was stuck in a rut and couldn’t get things done. These pointers are science and psychologically backed
This book offers a collection of insightful thoughts and strategies for navigating our chaotic world, particularly for those who tend to overthink and stress. While the ideas aren’t entirely new, the book serves as a helpful reminder to focus your energy wisely and live a better life without overcomplicating things. However, some parts of the book kept repeating like a glitch and that was annoying.
I won’t lie, I was just overall disappointed with this book. I think a big majority had to do with the fact that I listened to this as an audiobook. Please keep in mind this was my first ever audiobook. I feel like this genera is meant to buy and look back on instead of listening. I also really thought the narrator was going to be a women but it wasn’t max I think that threw me off too. I think I would give this book a second chance but hand held. I will say I was not the biggest fan of the 30 day plan in chapter 18. It felt like a very rushed 30 day plan. I could feel my anxiety rise thinking about having to do a 30 day plan like this.
It was okay. Listened to the Audio Book on Spotify and the narrator was kinda boring, had no emotion in his voice. It was like he was sick of the book.
I didn’t really take anything on board, it was all basic things and it was very repetitive. It’s basic things like stop caring what other people think, stop wanting to know more about other people’s life, stop using social media, overthinking will cause decision fatigue which will then cause burn out. All things that we know. But good background noise though.
Don’t know if I would recommend, don’t think I would listen to that narrator again.
This book challenged me to stop giving power to things that don’t deserve it.
One of my biggest takeaways was realizing that most people are so busy living their own lives that they’re not thinking about me nearly as much as I think they are. We spend so much time worrying about other people’s opinions, when most of the time they’re focused on their own problems, goals, and insecurities. So why let them dictate how we live?
I loved the reminder that our time is limited, and that we need to be our own compass instead of constantly seeking approval from others. Let them think what they want. Their opinions are not my responsibility.
The section on neuroplasticity also stood out to me. What we focus on shapes who we become. If we focus on fear and people-pleasing, that’s the life we’ll create. If we focus on growth, purpose, and confidence, we can create a life that thrives.
What I appreciated most is that this wasn’t about becoming selfish—it was about finding freedom. Freedom from unnecessary worry, freedom from other people’s expectations, and freedom to live more authentically. And through it all, the book still emphasized kindness, reminding us that even small acts can create a ripple effect.
My biggest takeaway: Life is too short to spend it living for other people’s opinions. Trust yourself, be kind, and let the rest go. 💛
I honestly initially chose to listen to this audiobook purely as background noise during my long commute. Turns out, I dug the book. None of the information contained in the book was new to me, however, I have been actively focused on self-improvement for several years. For me, I found it grounding to where I am currently in my evolutionary journey.
This book offers a concise guide on identifying one’s needs, creating goals, and cultivating motivation. It offers many exercises and reflection questions to help one dig a little deeper into themselves. It felt inspiring and empowering. What I enjoyed most about this book is the approach: it isn’t trying to be politically correct and tell you that all you need is a hug and for the world to change around you, like the majority of the therapeutic landscape these days. At heart, it says “f*ck them rainbows and unicorns.” So if a warm hug is what you seek, this book is not for you. Whether you’re looking to make some behavior changes, experiencing a spiritual awakening, or simply desire to increase your self-awareness, give this one a try.
I swear, the second I finished listening to this, I put it on repeat THREE times. It was just that good.
It was so easy to listen to, kept me engaged the entire time, and honestly felt like something I needed to hear at that exact point in my life. Even though it’s only about 2 hours and 19 minutes, it really changed my perception on certain things. For a good few days after listening to it, I genuinely felt like a different person.
I know that if I keep coming back to this every now and then, it’s something that will actually change the way I think and the way I look at things. It’s one of those books where I feel like you take something different from it every time you listen.
I would 100% recommend this to anyone and everyone. Even my mom listened to it and she was really into it too.
Short, easy to listen to, but somehow it left a HUGE impact on me. Definitely one I’ll be coming back to
I love the ideas in the book; however, it is very repetitive. Quotes are reused, terms are introduced as new even though they have already been discussed in earlier chapters. Exact phrases/ideas/advice from the first 60% of the book are repeated at the end, and not as a conclusion. They are included as though they are new ideas that the author has not yet shared.
Further, as an audiobook, it is very disappointing. It says it is narrated by the author, but it isn't. Instead, it is male AI that reads too fast between headings and content, frequently mispronounces words, spells several words, and garbles many words making it impossible to understand at times.
I listened to the audiobook. It was a lot that I've already read, so nothing new really. But the audiobook could use some "proofreading" if that's possible. Sometimes the same couple of sentences were repeated three times back to back. A few times, the audiobook seemed to spell out words instead of saying them.
It started really good and was aligning very well with tips my therapist gives me. But then on chapter 9 (reprogramming your mind) it started becoming such a yellow book. It talks about giving positive energy to universe and such yellow bulshit. So im not finishing this book and I’m not recommending it
This was a good listen. It is all information that I have heard before but laid out in a way that is more easily retained.. thank you for writing it. I am planning on listening to it again to pick up the details I may have missed. ❤️
2.5 stars? Some messages definitely clicked but overall the constant comparison to stars and planets, and historical legends, made it feel like anything i’m not happy with was dumb? Moreso, the grammar and repetitiveness of specific sentences or statements were confusing to listen to.
It had good advice in it, but why was it paced so freaking fast. You couldn’t even take anything in and dude literally made up gibberish at certain points. Maybe try reading the book with a physical copy because the audiobook was a mess
3.5...took a lot away from this book. Some of it was repetitive, but there were more than a handful of good points that I will carry with me and will hopefully help change my life for the better. Overall, would recommend!
Basically a free webinar selling a product at the end. Full of quotes and ideas from other authors. There was even a section that was narrated that made zero sense at all, just sounded like a bunch of letter jumbled together and made me wonder if it was written by ai. Wouldn’t recommend.
If you are a people please and just want to hear how you should stop from a different perspective this book is great ! I found it more insightful than The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F***
I loved most of the book. It could 100% go without the political parts of it. The content itself is really good but when you bring politics into it diminishes the meaning of it.
