Back when Obsession was first published as a serial called The Boss, it's what first drew me to Cari and Taryn's writing. Back then, I loved it, it was sexy and intense, and I was anxiously awaiting each installment as soon as I finished the previous one. Now with a small edit, I can safely say Obsession is even better - it's even more sexy and intense and I love Grace and Blake. AND I don't have to wait so long for the conclusion, so I'm a very satisfied reader, while still being really impatient for Possession.

Grace is an artist that works with glass and has recently lost her grandmother and her grandmother's home where she lived and worked in the "maid's quarters".
Blake is a billionaire who does amazing things with glass and security and was the person who purchased Grace's grandmother's house.
Grace is so distraught that she rushes to Blake's business office to try and convince him to let her buy him out. When she arrives at the office, she finds out that he's in need of an assistant, so she fakes that she's there for the interview. No one survives Blake's interview, but somehow Grace gets the job.
Blake is broody and demanding and Grace is fun to be around others and can handle his demands. A few days into her job, Blake and Grace get stuck in the vestibule of the office building with no way out. One thing leads to another and they become intimate in this space.
These two have sparks flying. When they're working, it's intense and when they have sex, it's just as quick and intense. Until he fires her. She goes back to her grandmother's place even though she's not supposed to be there and throws herself into her work. She creates an amazing piece.
Without giving everything away, this book kept me flipping the pages. And ugh! A cliffhanger! I can't wait to get the next book to continue this intense chemistry between Blake and Grace and to see where (if anywhere) it will go!

Ok, so first let me just say that this used to be a 6 part series called The Boss. It's been somewhat re-edited and this first book is the first 3 episodes in that series with Possession having the last 3. So if you have read that series, it is basically the same-just all together now! Obsession. Possession. Murder.I grew up as the illegitimate son on the wrong side of the tracks. Until an angel I could never repay helped me climb to the top. My new assistant, Grace Copeland, is determined to bring me down. She thinks I don't know about her lies and the risks she's taking, but I've been watching all this time. Watching her. Soon she’ll realize that being on top is where I belong—and where she’ll beg me to be.

It does end on a cliff-hanger, so if you hate cliffy's, wait until Possession releases before reading them! Grace and Blake couldn't be more different if they tried. She is an artist and just generally fits what you think of an artist. Blake is a business man, and he definitely fits the bill there! But for all that they are intrinsically different, they compliment each other in ways that just make you want to read more! I love how their story plays out in this first half. From the half truth's to the off the charts chemistry, it's enough to keep you reading and wanting to know more. I love seeing some of my favorite characters from the LIO series! Because who doesn't love them??? I can't wait to read the second half, along with the new epilogue!

This fantastic book was previously published in a 6 part series called The Boss, it is simply fantastic. Obsession emcompasses the first 3 books of that series and is a all encompassing read. Once you read the first few lines, you are hooked to the story and become obsessed with the lives of the characters.

Grace Copeland is a strong, beautiful and intelligent artist, who has lost her grandmother who raised her, her home and now, her heart. She gets involved with the broody, handsome billionaire Blake Carson, not knowing that while she only knows him as the man who bought her family home, he knows her as the girl whom he has loved since he since she was young.

Blake is a driven, broody, self made billionaire who has one weakness, Grace. He doesn't believe that he is good enough for her, but just can't let her go. Everything he has built is for her, Grace, the one girl he will never be good enough for.

This book ends on a cliff hanger which leaves you clamoring and for the next half, Possession.

The plot twists, guest appearances of previous characters ( Donovan Lewis / Lila Shawcross ), weave this particular set of books into the rich tapestry of the world which Taryn Quinn has built within her fantastic books.

This is the first book in the Smoke and Glass series.
Grace is an artist and Blake is a business man. He bought the house of her deceased grandmother from right under her nose. She wanted her house back. She goes to his office to confront him but end up in an interview for his assistant. They work together well but the sexual tension is so thick you can cut it with a knife. One night when they get locked in the building passions take over.
We learn they are both hiding secrets from each other. Seems there is a connection from the past the Blakes keep talking about but she has no idea.
He has enough of her lies and fires her. She goes to work of one night at the gallery she use to work for. She ends up show one is her glass sculptures because the main artist doesn't show. Blake shows up with some dinner and a quickie.
Guess who ends up buying the piece called Fallen Angel
She is angry at him and confronts about taking another piece of her. She ends up telling her truth and take him to her house.. he is confused because its his home he bought.
They take about to make love when they hear noises. The go to see what happened and all hell breaks loose.
Then that major cliffhanger. WOW!!!!

Blake is a billionaire who works with security and glass. When a woman he knows walks into his office looking for a job he knows she is not there to help him with his business. The problem is he has been obsessed with this woman and now that she is working with him for many hours a day it is hard for him to resist the temptation. The temptation wins.....
Blake and Grace create a crazy chemistry that will drive you insane! Excellent story that will grab you into Taryn Quinn's world of superb writing. Don't get mad at the cliff hanger as there is more to come in Grace and Blake's next book Possession.

Wow! What an ending! Obsession is the first half of the Smoke & Glass duet and I am desperate for the second half! Wealthy businessman Blake Carson has just hired a new assistant that he already knows is trouble but isn't there a saying about keeping your enemies close? Grace Copeland is grieving the loss of her beloved grandmother and her entire foundation has been imploded. All this leads her to Blake Carson's office to have a showdown. When she finds a way in to speak to him posing as an interview applicant, she decides to change up her plan. Blake needs an assistant. Grace needs a paying job. She also needs a way to discuss getting her late grandmother's home back that has been sold to Blake in a bank foreclosure. These two are clouded in lies but their attraction to each other is hotter that any fire. Obsession was told from dual POV and is an enemies to lovers that will blow you away! I cannot wait for Possession to come next!

You can't call this enemies to lovers because these two are just obsessed with each other.
They pull the other in for some steamy scenes and immediately push them away.
Both are hiding things.
Grace has list her beloved grandmother and her house. When she finds out who bought it she decides to confront him. But her plans don't pan out and instead she's working for him. Keeping her reasons a secret.
Blake is a billionaire. Not a people person. Blake has a secret too, we just don't know exactly what it is. He knows Grace, but how?
These two are combustible together but their secrets are causing problems.
The book ends in a cliffhanger. Now that Grace came clean with Blake, will he come clean?
And who broke into the house? And what does Jack have to do with it?
Loved Vi and Jack as secondary characters.

Obsession is the first book in the the Smoke & Glass duet and was an amazing and fast read. The story has been released before as a 6-part serial, and this book encompasses the first three stories.

Grace Copeland is grieving the loss of her grandmother and (more recently) her grandmother's home that was bought out of foreclosure by wealthy business man Blake Carson. She wants to persuade Blake to give her a chance to get her grandmother's house back, and somehow ends up keeping her secret and being Blake's assistant.

Their chemistry is instant and STEAMY! Blake has a secret of his own concerning Grace... as their secrets start to become revealed, the cliffhanger comes... and their live are in danger.

Don't let the cliffhanger dissuade you; you only have to wait until February to read the rest!

Whoa!!! I am obsessed with Grace and Blake's story!!!

Grace’s life is not going as she would like. She’s lost her last family member - the grandmother that basically raised her and her grandmother's house. She's about to be homeless. She is desperate to get her back. Enter Blake Carson - the man who bought it. He’s all the things - sexy, cocky, broody, sometimes thoughtful, did I mention sexy??? *fans self* and suddenly Grace’s boss. Oh boy, is the chemistry off the charts between these two!!!

Settle in and prepare to shut the world out because you are not going to want to put this book down!!

*Obsession is book 1 of the Smoke and Glass duet, so it does end with a cliffhanger. Gah!! I can't wait for the release of Possession!!!

First, this story has been released before in a 6-part serial named The Boss but has now been combined into 2 books. Obsession is the first book and has a cliffhanger ending, but the second book Possession will be out in February, so no long wait for the conclusion of the story.

If you like a story with steamy passion and strong characters, well who doesn't, this is a book you won't want to miss. While Grace Copeland and Blake Carson both have their share of secrets and lies, the passion between them cannot be denied, but neither of them expected to stumble into a dangerous situation that threatens them both.
I enjoyed escaping into this story and can't wait to read the conclusion of their story.

Ohhhh! So many secrets and chemistry that once I started this one I had a hard time putting it down. Why did I start this one at night! Gah! Grace has lost everything, her grandmother, her last relative, and now her home. When she goes to the man who bought it and tries to convince him to let her buy it back she ends up working for him. Little does she know Blake has been keeping an eye on her for years. So many secrets and lies, or half truths, on both sides. Yes, this one ends on a cliffhanger but lucky for all of us the next one comes out really soon!

**Received this ARC for review from the author** (what I want to know is how I missed this previously published book by this author! I thought I had read all of this author's works...hmmm...)

Blake and Grace. Oh my lordy! This book had me feeling all sorts of feels. Obsession is a word that describes so much of what this book is about. Grace is at first obsessed with desperation to get her house back then with her art then being the best she can be at her accidental job then (hold on to my lady bits) Blake. I adore Grace. This time in her life is more than what someone should have to handle.
Blake is obsessed with work. His innovative product is his wife and mistress since he has no use for either of those things. Until Grace walks into his life. Then his obsession becomes very apparently Grace.
They both are hiding something which leads to such delicious tension. Even though this is a cliffhanger, it is so worth the read. Plus the second book comes out so soon.

This was a steamy read that's about Blake Carson owner of Carson Covenant Inc. and Grace Copeland a glass artist. Grace goes to confront Blake about her grandmother's house he bought on auction. While downstairs in the lobby, she's stopped by the guard asking if she's here for the interview. Grace says yes. This was her chance to get upstairs and meet Blake who's hiring for an assistant. What happens afterward when Grace is hired was an entertaining steamy read that captivated me. Our characters were engaging, and their chemistry sizzled in this copy I'd received and volunteer to read and review.

If you like hit and steamy, cliffhanger, enemy to lovers, than this is the book for you!!
Grace has lost everything, her grandmother oassed away, and the bank auctioned her house off. Blake swoops in and buys the house before Grace can make arrangements to keep it, so on a whim she drives his company to try and convince him to sell it back to her...and so start the lies, and the rollercoaster ride. I know there are lies on both sides. But Im not sure how deep Blakes go, or how he knows Grace and can't wait to find out in book 2. I hope you enjoy as much as I did!!!

The darker side of passion

This is a departure from what we’re used to getting from Taryn Quinn, but no less delicious. Blake and Grace are explosive together, but will they burn too bright?

Grace is down on her luck and lost the last bit of her family. She wants her home back and Blake is the obstacle standing in her way.

Blake is powerful, rich, and wants Grace even when he wishes he didn’t. He’s hiding secrets, even while chastising Grace for keeping her own.

Blake and Grace are pure dynamite. They would burn up the sheets, if there were ever sheets around. But are these two too much? Guess we will have to wait for the second book to find out.

Most of the story is from Grace’s point of view. Grace lives in her own world and it is not reality for the most part. She blames Blake for buying her grandmother’s house when it was in foreclosure, convincing herself she would somehow be able to afford the estate on her own meager means. Blake has secretly wanted Grace since they were kids, but she has no memory of him. They have terrible communication between them and it puts them at odds a lot. They both overreact. Jack is the best character—so entertaining. Grace and Blake can be amusing too, just nowhere near as much. There is also a bit of a mystery cooking about the grandmother and people in town. Cliffhanger ending.

Wow! What a roller coaster of emotions! Grace has lost her Grandmother & her home in an instant. When she finds out that Blake is the buyer of her grandmother’s house she drives to his office hoping to convince him to sell the house back to her. Instead she ends up taking a job as his assistant. With lies and half truths on both sides, and an intense attraction between them everything comes to an explosive cliff hanger!
We still don’t know how Blake fits into Grace’s past. Anxiously waiting for the next book to find out what is going to happen next!

Holy wow! This read really had me pulled in and turning those pages. Grace and Blake come from different backgrounds, and I'm really interested in digging in to that past and exploring the secrets that they each have. They have a lot of tension that is sometimes very explosive with the chemistry and spice! I enjoy a story that can keep things hopping, interesting, and guessing! These two are fire with ups and downs, and I'm looking forward to the second part of this duet!

I don't even have words for how fantastic this story is. We get dual perspectives, but in chunks. Grace has her motives for doing what she does and I was wishing for Blake's perspective, then we got it and that threw me for a turn I wasn't expecting. The chemistry for these two was off the charts, but this story does end on a cliffhanger. I knew before I picked up this book, which is why I was okay with it. I still have so many questions and can't wait to read the conclusion to Blake and Grace's story. I absolutely think this book is worth reading, and even rereading.

Another new-to-me authors, another great read! So many readers have given wonderful reviews for this book, and I totally agree with them. The book was beautifully written, with an interesting storyline and wonderful characters. I loved the interactions between Grace, a glass artist, and Blake who is a businessman and specializes in glass buildings. There are many secrets and lies between Grace and Blake and this story ends in a cliff hanger!!! I thank the authors for giving us a great story, I give it more than 5 stars and am starting the second book this evening!!!

What an engaging emotional rollercoaster ride of a story. This is book 1 in the smoke and glass duet and does end with a cliff hanger to keep you holding your breath waiting for book 2. Grace’s life isn’t going as she hoped. Blake is the billionaire who purchased her beloved grandmas home. They both have secrets and lies between them. They ended up stumbling into a situation that puts them into danger. Cann’t wait until book 2 to find out where this leads..

So much fun to read about Blake & Grace. Couple of sneak peaks at Oblivion people too!!

Grace has an agenda that falls apart when she starts to work with Blake. The chemistry between these two is intense. Blake is so reserved around her...it's cause he's going to explode! Intense!!

Looking forward to part two. There's something sinister going on, but it's only just begun at the end of Book 1.

Grace lost her and her Grandmothers house and Blake bought it. She went to his office to try and buy back her house. Instead she ends up taking a job as his assistant. Their is so many lies between them. The attraction between them is so strong. I was so hooked and then it ends on a cliffhanger. I need more. This is a great must read story.

Fire…

Whoa. Grace and Blake are spicy together. He’s her boss. She was a good girl but now she’s playing with fire and enjoying the heck out of it. He’s definitely obsessed with her. She’s got some secrets and these two are only too happy steam things up as they play cat and mouse…

Grace lost her grandmother and then the house. She wants it back. She will go to Blake's office and try to talk to him but when she gets there she will luck out as he is interviewing and she lies her way in and gets the job. He doesn't know what she wants but she doesn't know his whole story and that he knows who she is and her grandmother
