Strategic Writing for UX by Torrey Podmajersky changed how I think about even the smallest pieces of interface copy. The book explains practical patterns for notifications, controls, empty states, descriptions, and other common UX elements. It shows not only what to write, but also where and why each pattern works.
What surprised me most was seeing how many different ways the same message can be written, even within a very small section of a page.
My biggest takeaway is that every word in an interface has to earn its place. People scan, attention is limited, and good UX writing should make the next step clearer without adding unnecessary words.
