This is the sequel to the original Gwent game artbook, this time including the lush art from the subsequent expansions. The pages alternate between full page and then four-to-a-page layouts, showcasing the consistency and careful curation of art for the game.

The book breaks down as follows: Introduction and then the expansions: Crimson Curse, Novigrad, Iron Judgement, Merchants of Ofir, Master Mirror, Way of the Witcher, Price of Power, Black Sun. The full page art gives a bit of background on either the theme, the game mechanics, or Witcher lore that applies to that art. Each section also has a brief description about each expansions theme and cards. The pages with four images only provide name and artist.

The background information for the many cards was useful, especially if you haven't read the novels or played the game recently. Most of the Witcher main characters remain absent, with only a couple of images of Geralt himself or one of the sorceresses. Those will mostly be found in the fist Gwent art book. This expansion book focuses mostly on creatures but also has images of a few side characters like Radovic and von Everac from the DLC.

In all, respect really has to be given to the art direction here for taking a diverse group of artists and ensuring a unified and consistent look across all the art for the game. There really are no duds here and all feel unique, distinct, and like time and thought was given to their design and production.

In all, as good as the first book. Reviewed from an advance reader copy provided by the publisher.

4.5 stars. This is a nicely put together book with excellent art. In looking though this volume, however, I am reminded of how I felt as the various Gwent expansions were released, excited with mild disappointment. No shade to any of the artists who provided card arts, they are all impressive, I just didn't like much of the expanded lore as the game continued.

Anway this is a book, not game, review. The art is excellent, and the book is put together nicely. I do see some of my favorite pieces from the expansions are missing, though, thus the loss of half a star.
