Against the stark beauty of southwest Ireland, Carlene O’Connor’s atmospheric County Kerry mystery series continues, and this time veterinarian Dimpna Wilde must reckon with a stalker whose obsession has turned deadly . . .
“Isn’t this how every ghost story begins?”
The roads around Dingle are whisper-quiet in the small hours of a rainy night, empty of the tourists who throng the town by day. As she and her assistant, Patrick, drive home after an already traumatic day, Dimpna Wilde isn’t expecting to see anyone, let alone her employee, Niamh, standing in the road, dressed in a nightgown and soaked to the skin.
Dazed and distraught, Niamh passes out after muttering incoherently, and at her apartment, Dimpna and Patrick make a grisly discovery. There’s a dead woman in Niamh’s bed, shot in the head, a hunting rifle beside her. When Niamh comes to, she has no memory of the day’s events, and no idea of the woman’s identity. All she can tell Detective Inspector Cormac O’Brien with certainty is that for weeks, she’s felt like she was being watched.
Suspicion falls on Niamh’s new boyfriend, Mark Gallagher, who her friends have not yet met. But as Dimpna and Cormac try to track him down, they realize there’s no evidence Mark Gallagher ever even existed. All of Niamh’s texts and photos of him are missing or deleted, and he has no social media presence. What lingers is a nagging unease, especially when they learn of another, similar murder years ago—another woman found shot to death in her bed, a woman who had complained of being stalked, just like Niamh.
As Dimpna delves deeper into a twisting case, she feels someone watching her too, targeting her business, her animals, her family—even her sanity, willing to do anything to stop her from disclosing a terrifying truth . . .
Carlene O’Connor is the USA Today Bestselling author of The Irish Village Mystery Series, The Home to Ireland Series and the County Kerry Mystery series. The first in the County Kerry Series, NO STRANGERS HERE received a starred review from Kirkus and was the Mystery Pick of the Month at Barnes and Noble in September of 2023. Of all the places across the pond she’s wandered, she fell most in love with a walled town in County Limerick and was inspired to create the town of Kilbane, County Cork. She currently lives in New Mexico.
Come Through Your Door opens on the quiet, rain-drenched roads of Dingle, where an abrupt, unnerving discovery sets the stage for a tense and thrilling mystery. Dimpna Wilde, a headstrong woman who runs a business locally, finds herself embroiled in a haunting case when her employee Niamh appears soaked and disoriented. The discovery of a dead woman in Niamh's apartment, Niamh's own memory loss, and the curious absence of her new boyfriend, Mark Gallagher, commence a tangle of investigation. As Dimpna and Detective Inspector Cormac O'Brien dig deeper, they unearth some chilling links to perhaps a past murder and an ominous presence that seems to be watching them all, menacing everything dear to Dimpna.
The heart of the novel is a journey of Dimpna, a woman of courage, facing the struggles of business, family, and ever-growing dangers around her. Protecting her loved ones and unveiling the truth becomes her driving force. Niamh, burdened with her shock and confusion, adds another dimension to the emotional drama, while Cormac's steady power and methodical nature provide a hard ground for contrast. The interactions between and among these characters unfold multiple layers of trust, fear, and loyalty, thus making their plight one of personal meaning and universal reality.
The book speaks about stalking, trauma, and all the hidden ditches in a peaceful facade of community. All these issues find their perfect relevance when people today speak of safety, mental health, and the impact of violence. The second theme raised here is how well we know the people around us. One theme that surfaces is how fear isolates and keeps one in control.
Carlene O'Connor has an expressive style; at times, she manages to elicit a certain amount of empathy and deep feeling tempered by suspense. The transition from various perspectives becomes effortless, lending the reader interest in the floating mystery, rather than quite literally drowning them in it. The blights of the mounting tension—rain-soaked nights, quiet streets, and the endless thought of being observed—cast an aura of dread throughout the book. Though a character in its own right, the setting becomes the emotional vessel that keeps the reader taut with suspense.
One of the book's stances is in the detailed pathos of small-town life, where everyone knows each other; nonetheless, secrets fester beneath the surface. The setting fits well in a psychological thriller, providing a story that is not only a page-turner but also deeply reflects human vulnerability. This new creation keeps O'Connor's focus on strong women, complex relationships, and, in the most recent, a sharper aspect of suspense.
While it is a page-turner, sometimes the pace slows to create a scene for detailed investigations that might test the patience level of a reader fully expecting the high action. The emotional stakes would certainly have benefited from a more fleshed-out array of secondary characters. These minor irritations are far too remote to truly take away from the overall experience.
Come Through Your Door finds its strongest colors in combining emotional mapping and mystery. It encourages the reader to ponder how fear and trust inform our lives, and to contemplate the birth of courage in the darkest hours. With its plethora of characters and atmospheric setting, it lends itself as a haunting read.
This book gave me that spine tingling, someone’s watching me feeling the whole way through and I mean that literally. I had to check over my shoulder more than once. The story kicks off with a bang: a woman found soaked and confused on a quiet Irish road… and a dead body in her bed. From there the tension just builds. Dimpna is a brilliant lead grounded, determined and impossible not to root for and the mystery around Niamh’s missing memories and her too perfect boyfriend had me fully gripped.
The pacing was spot on, the small town setting made everything feel even more claustrophobic and I loved how the past and present started to blur in really unsettling ways. A couple moments had me raising an eyebrow but overall it’s the kind of slow burn thriller that seeps into your brain and lingers. Creepy, clever and seriously hard to put down.
Thank you Kensington Publishing and Carlene O'Connor. This copy was an ARC I won in a giveaway. The following is my honest opinion. Loved it! I think this is the best of the County Kerry series so far. The story's twists and turns made it hard to put down. I would definitely recommend.
Dimpna is a veternarian who finds herself tangled up in a murder investigation involving one of her employees, Niamh. As the case is being looked at by detectives, things get even stranger when Niamh admits feelings of being watched for some time and detectives recall a previous murder with the same features. Even more disturbing is that both cases are linked to a local psychiatric hospital with its own dark twisted secrets. Dimpna starts feeling like she's being watched. Has the killer turned her sights to her? I liked this book. I couldn't read it all in one sitting, but I did look forward to picking up where I left off. The story line, characters, and descriptions were easy to follow and kept me guessing. The way it all comes together at the end is believable. An intriguing and captivating read!
Thank you to the author, Carlene O'Connor, publishers and Goodreads for giving me the opportunity to read and review ☺️ Thank you for trusting me with your words!
Discaimer - I received this ARC in a Goodreads giveaway.
Thank you to Goodreads and Kensington for this ARC (and the awesome bookmark)! I am so thankful for the opportunity to read this one early.
4.5/5 ☆
I couldn't put this book down! Admittedly, I found the first 25 to 30 pages to be a bit confusing and jumbled with all of the different perspectives, but as soon as the story settled on our protagonist, Dimpna, I was totally enthralled. This complex murder mystery was fantastic, and I was constantly trying to figure out who the killer was. I found most of the twists and turns to be unpredictable, which is harder to come by these days. The pacing was great, and O'Connor manages to create a very chilling set of circumstances that leaves the reader wanting more. I loved the way the story unfolded, and I'll definitely be looking for more books by O'Connor in the future.
A few quick critiques: I don't really care for the cover art, and I don't see the title as being very relevant to the book. Had I not won the giveaway, I don't think I would have picked this book up. As I mentioned, the jumps between perspectives at the beginning were confusing and made it more difficult to get into the story at first. I did also find one typo on page 326, where it reads "Dr, O'Buachalla" instead of "Dr. O'Buachalla." Lastly, I found it a bit confusing when Tilly's identity was revealed (this was one twist I did predict), as we don't get a follow-up for around 3.5 chapters, even though we return to Cormac's perspective. This had me a bit confused, and I flipped back through my book to see if I had missed something. I don't mind it not being addressed in full right away, but I just thought it was weird that we didn't get any mention of him even thinking about her for several chapters.

It's a convoluted yet interesting story. It took a little bit to get into since there are a few characters, but it was well worth it. The atmosphere is delightful. I'll definitely be reading more from this author.
This was an Advance Readers Edition that I won in a giveaway. I rate this a 4/5 stars. Genre is Irish Crime Novel. On the night of local veterinarian Dimpna Wilde’s father’s funeral a woman is found in her friend and employee apartment and her friend is found walking in the middle of the road in a bloody nightgown. The murder appears to be just like the murder scene from one year ago of Annabelle Nolan. Her killer was never caught. All of a sudden those involved with Annabelle’s life are now showing up in the vicinity of this murder. Is it coincidence or has Annabelle’s killer surfaced again. And now it seems he/she is stalking Dimpna. Can she and DI Cormac solve this before the worst happens? I enjoyed this book but admit it took a couple chapters to get into it. At first I found it a little confusing because it jumped back and forth between the two murders but once I got in the rhythm of the story it flowed much easier. I did figure out some parts of the story but not all. Would recommend this book if you like mystery, crime, police procedural reads.

Loved this book it was kind of slow in the beginning but as it went on the twists were amazing this book had me guessing till the end and the killer came as a surprise as he wasn’t one of my first suspects
I thought this was a pretty good mystery novel. it's is a book in the middle of a series but I was able to enjoy the story anyway. I felt the characters were solid and the plot was entertaining. I felt it was a well written mystery. I will read the previous novels.
One year ago, Annabelle Nolan was finally murdered by her stalker. She'd experienced increasingly frightening incidents for the previous year, but the police were not really taking the case seriously and no one else ever saw evidence that she was being stalked. After her death, suspicion fell on her husband, but nothing could ever be proved. Now a year has passed, and Annabelle's friends and family have gathered to have a memorial for her. They meet in a pub, but before the day is finished, several of the people in the pub will have died, another will be missing, and another will turn up dazed and bloody with no memory of the events of that night. Local vet Dimpna is also mourning the recent death of her father. That evening, she's called to a cliffside where an unknown man is clutching a small dog and threatening to jump. While Dimpna is able to convince him to let the dog go, he steps off the cliff and disappears. Luckily, Dimpna's current boyfriend is a police detective, who soon arrives and begins investigating all of the strange incidents. At the same time, a local man has started a podcast to look into the unsolved death of Annabelle as well as the new strange happenings. Since Annabelle worked at a hospital for the mentally ill, all investigations start with what was going on at the hospital, and the dark history of deaths and other events that happened there in the past. Annabelle was investigating the history of the hospital before she herself was killed, so could she have uncovered something that led to her death? And are the current deaths related to Annabelle's murder?
This book certainly had a lot going on. There are multiple points of view as all the characters try to figure out what is happening (along with the reader!). The people don't always make the brightest decisions (such as multiple people running into a burning barn when the killer is in there and will surely be escaping soon -- could no one follow or trap him???) and there are so many people revealing bits and pieces of the story to one someone that it's hard to keep up with who knows what. There are some unanswered questions at the end (such as how "the killer" was able to convince people to do things by telephone . . .) but the story was a page turner that kept me guessing.
I received a copy of this book from a GoodReads giveaway.

Bookish Thoughts
Wow. Come Through Your Door is quite the ride. The book begins with the stalking and murder of Annabelle Nolan a year earlier. One year later a small group gathers to remember Annabelle and her unsolved murder. This is also the same day as the funeral for veterinarian Dimpna Wilde’s father. Dimpna gets called away by a farmer she knows, claiming a man holding a small dog is going to jump off the cliffs. Dimpna finds the man, and he is smeared in blood. He admits to a murder of someone she doesn’t know, doesn’t tell Dimpna his name, only that he has a prison record and refuses to go back. He then releases the dog before plunging to his death. A fierce storm breaks as she’s driving back to her home, when she nearly runs over his assistant, Niamh. She’s dressed in a nightgown and streaked with blood, just like the jumper. She has a bizarre story about a woman in her bed. What Dimpna finds is just that—a dead woman in Niamh’s bed with a gunshot wound to her head. And that is just the beginning. Before long, Dimpna discovers someone has started stalking her. Someone who seems to know her every move and is intent on destroying her life.
Come Through Your Door pulled me in from the first page. The timeline was confusing at first. Chapters one and two are a year earlier, chapter three is one year later, and chapter six is six hours earlier, chapter nine back to one year earlier, and chapter ten finally comes to the present day. It was a bit confusing at first, trying to keep all the characters and timelines straight, but not enough to pull me out of the book. I’ve read all the books in this series, and I can say Come Through Your Door is the most nerve-wracking of them all. I made my family wait until I finished the book before taking off on a hike I was that drawn in. Tightly written, with a plot that never relents, and well-rounded characters, O’Connor’s book drew me in from the beginning.

Barbara’s rating: 3.7 out of 5 Stars Series: County Kerry Mystery #4 Publication Date: 10/28/25 Period: Contemporary – southwest Ireland Number of Pages: 384
This is a chilling, spine-tingling mystery from first page to last. It’s almost like a closed-room mystery with the most likely suspect locked within a mental hospital - but there are plenty of other suspects as well. There are plenty of red herrings to make it interesting and a cast of characters who will surely grab your attention. The mystery is excellent, and the writing is well-paced. It did, however, drive me nuts when it constantly switched timelines. That is a personal thing and no dig at the story. I would be zipping through a chapter, ready to get to the exciting next part, and the next chapter would begin with, “One Year Earlier”. It was sort of like reading two books within one.
One warning – it is better for you if you don’t begin this book when you are home alone at night. You’ll jump at every creak and constantly check behind you to see if someone is watching.
Dimpna Wilde, a local veterinarian, is bereft at the loss of her father, but has little time to deal with that grief when her employee and friend, Niamh, appears in the middle of the road. Niamh is bloodied, soaked, and disoriented – and she claims there is a dead woman in her bed.
The story switches back and forth between events that happened a year earlier and what is occurring at present. How are they connected? Will Cormac be able to put all of the clues together and solve the crime from a year ago, as well as the current murders?
This is a book I can definitely recommend, but if you are looking for a Cozy Mystery, this isn’t it. It’s creepy, chilling, and spine-tingling, but you won’t be able to put it down
I voluntarily read an early copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This is the fourth book in O’Connor’s County Kerry series, and I think it’s my favorite one so far!
Our favorite Dingle veterinarian, Dimpna Wilde, is once again caught in the middle of a murder mystery, this time involving one of her employees. Dimpna, and her assistant Patrick, find Niamh wandering a road in the middle of the night, talking out of her head, blood on her nightgown. Taking her home to call the Gardai, Dimpna and Patrick discover a dead woman in Niamh’s bed, a hunting rifle beside her.
Once Niamh is awake and coherent, she tells Detective Inspector Cormac O’Brien that she has no memory from that day. She begins to tell him there has been strange goings on, like things moved around her apartment, small items missing, and she’s had the sense that someone has been watching her. Her new boyfriend quickly becomes the prime suspect, when Dimpna and Cormac cannot find any trace of him - all photos and texts have been erased from Niamh’s phone, and there is no social media presence. As the investigation continues, it is discovered that a similar murder occurred a year ago - a young woman named Annabelle Nolan, who was employed at a local psychiatric hospital, was stalked, and then found murdered in bed with a hunting rifle beside her.
I love a good thriller, especially one that keeps me guessing until the end, and this one did not disappoint. I enjoyed the differing POVs from characters, as well as the flashbacks to Annabelle’s life. I loved the complexity of each character and storyline, and how each piece fit together at the end. O’Connor has a way of bringing everything together, and gives the reader the greatest “aha!” moment at the end. I thoroughly enjoyed the story, and also felt like I was back in Ireland the whole time I was reading it. I’m hopeful we will see more of DImpna and Cormac, and can’t wait to “visit” again, if so!
Thank you Kensington Publishing for this ARC opportunity. All thoughts are my own
In this twisty mystery, Dr. Dimpna Wilde is pulled into the orbit of a sadistic stalker. It starts with her assistant being found wandering down the road in a stupor, not knowing how she got there, and only able to tell Detective O'brien that she feels like she's been watched for sometime. Then, a body is found in the assistant's bed, and no one can figure out how it got there. The only thing the detective know for sure is that the murder looks suspiciously similar to a similar murder in a nearby town that took place a year earlier. Things get more intense when Dr. Wilde herself is threatened, and with her help, the detectives must race against the clock before stalking turns into murder once more.
Having read the previous installments in this series, I do have to say that I thought this one was a bit darker and more suspenseful than Carlene O'connor's usual fare. However, I really liked it. The sinister nature of the murder as well as the complexity of the victims and the suspects made it a really gripping read. As always, it was set against the backdrop of the Irish countryside with it's quaint villages and farmland which makes for a great atmosphere. The personal relationships between characters are also continuing in this one, and I like where they are going; although, we do focus more on the mystery here than in most of the other books in this series.
Bottom line: If you're a fan of this series already, I think you'll like this one as well. Just be forewarned that it is a bit more intense than some of the others. If you haven't tried this series, but you like Irish mysteries, please give this one a try.
Come Through Your Door by Carlene O’Connor is a mystery that wins readers over because it combines a tense and twist filled story with characters who feel real and relatable. Dimpna Wilde stands out as a heroine because she shows grit and courage even when her world begins to unravel and her safety is put on the line. The Irish countryside adds atmosphere that feels both beautiful and unsettling and the murder investigation unfolds in a way that keeps the suspense high on every page. Readers are pulled in by the chilling details of Niamh’s missing memories the strange boyfriend who leaves no trace behind and the unnerving feeling that someone is always nearby in the shadows. This is a book that keeps people turning the pages deep into the night.
Readers will also enjoy how the story blends mystery with emotion as the characters fight for truth trust and justice while navigating fear and uncertainty. The link between present danger and past crimes creates a web of secrets that grows more gripping with each chapter. By the time the mystery is solved the outcome feels both surprising and satisfying leaving readers with a sense of closure as well as an echo of unease. The mix of sharp twists rich atmosphere and strong character work makes this novel stand out as a five star read

Unfortunately she is called to help a patient with his sheep. She knows her dad would drop everything to take care of his animals. She apologizes to her mum and the gathering to go to the clinic to pick up the necessary equipment. Unfortunately when she arrives at the place where the sheep has wandered off to meet Ted she sees a man holding a small dog. He is on the brink of the cliff. He does not want the guardians, only the vet. He plans to jump, and she convinces him to let the dog come to her. After she begs him to stop and give her his hand,as jumping is not the answer. Instead he takes a step and falls to the rocks at the bluff of the sea. Come Through the Door will be published on October 28, 2025 by Kensington Publishing Corp. I was able to read and review O’Connor’s latest novel via NetGalley. This is the latest County Kerry novel in the series. The stories are full of suspense yet intriguing as the plot is full of Irish humor and language. I have enjoyed all of her books. Don’t pass this one up.
A chilling, twist-filled book that kept me hooked till the very end.
I just finished this, and wow — what a ride! This was my first time reading this author, and she definitely made an impression. The story is dark, enthralling, and layered with tension that builds chapter by chapter. I absolutely loved the characters — each one felt real and added something vital to the mystery.
The plot is intricate and full of twists. I was partly right about who I suspected, but the truth still managed to surprise me. You think you’ve got it figured out, but you don’t — and that’s exactly what makes it such a gripping read.
That said, I did find the writing style a bit confusing at times. Some transitions and narrative choices made me pause, which is the only reason I can’t give it a full five stars. But even with that, the story itself more than makes up for it — tense, emotional, and unsettling in the best way possible.
Overall, this is a compelling thriller that leaves you questioning every character and second-guessing every clue. It’s definitely impressive — and I’ll be keeping an eye out for more of her books.
Thankyou to NetGalley, the publisher and the author the ARC.
Against the backdrop of a complicated family and the loss of her father, veterinarian Dimpna Wilde and her loved ones become embroiled in another murder investigation. The mysteries, the suspects, and the impact on the community drew me into the tale. This is an action packed, intense chase to find a stalker and killer, with her employee Niamh in the middle of the mess driving her to not give up.. I think my favorite part of this book, though, is the growing depth of the characters in the series. In this case, DI Cormac O’Brien seems to have come to terms with the fact that he can’t stop Dimpna from investigating when the crimes impact her and those she loves. The way in which O’Connor explores this changing boundary and the impact on their relationship as they follow clues is so well-crafted that it catches nuances we often don’t even notice in our own realities until we have the opportunity to look back with objectivity. Dimpna’s mother remains a great foil and her brother a curious minor antagonist.
Thank you to Kensington Book, Kensington, Netgalley, and the author for early access to a digital copy of this well-crafted mystery novel.
Wow, talk about creepy and unsettling. This installment of the County Kerry mysteries focused on a Stalker who both terrorizes psychologically and murders people, and Dimpna and her friends and family are pulled into it. The original stalking/murder happened a year before, and then those who were tied to it gather on the 1-year anniversary and become involved in a repeat occurrence. The problem is that it might be one of them who is doing the stalking/murdering. We get to hear first-person perspectives from multiple characters who drop hints or add more to the mysteries. The characters and mystery revolve around a former/current mental hospital/asylum and those who both work there and who are/were residents. I felt my heart race a few times while reading and had my guesses about the killer but I kept jumping around when new information would come to light, though a couple things I couldn't let go of and were explained in the end. This book was great (though darker than most cozy's).
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for selecting me to read an advanced copy
Disclaimer: I won this ARC in a GoodReads giveaway but that in no way influenced my review. The expected publication date of this novel is late October 2025.
I very much enjoyed this County Kerry Irish mystery thriller. I've read enough British and Irish books that as an American I don't generally have issues grasping the slang and differences in wordage. Two of the female characters in this book had given names I wasn't at all familiar with and I struggled with Google to figure out how they were pronounced: Dimpna and Niamha.
The story itself seemed in contrast to the peaceful County Kerry countryside and the old castle and churches. Instead, we are drawn to a derelict psychiatric hospital and the smaller asylum that replaced it. We start off with a murder that closely resembles a murder from the past and involves the hospital. It is eerie, creepy, and scary. Nothing is as it seems. If you like a good dark thriller with lots of twists at the end, this one will be right up your alley as it was mine.
"Come Through Your Door" is book #4 in the "County Kerry Mystery" series by Carlene O'Connor.
A woman had been stalked for a full year before being brutally killed. Now a year later, the monster who did this has still not been caught but there are suspicions... Then another brutal murder occurs with a similar setting and the hunt is on.
Cormac and the guards are struggling to get answers as the killer continues to taunt them and several others with his need to create terror and chaos for anyone who dares to get near. Lives are threatened and there are close calls for several.
This story is disturbing on many levels as the killer doesn't seem to care who they inflict pain on but also has specific targets - including Dimpna, her family, friends and her vet practice.
I did figure out part of what was going on but the truth was both shocking and disturbing.
Ms. O'Connor is a gifted story teller but this page turner will have your heart beating just a bit faster as things escalate before all is revealed.
Thank you Kensington Books for a free book to give an honest review. We are traveling to Ireland in December, so I was eager to read Carlene O'Connor's novel set in Ireland. Even though this was the 4th in th County Kerry Mystery series, I could follow the drama. I thoroughly enjoyed Dimpna Wilde, the local vet in Dingle, Ireland. The story begins when Dimpna and her asssitant Patrick are driving home and see her employee Niamh, dazed in the road in her nightgown. A dead woman is found shot in Niamh's bed. Detective Cormac O'Brian begins to unravel the mystery as more threats happen and connections are made to a past case. There is a sweet romance bubbling between Dimpna and Cormac that probably has been brewing in previous books. I have already ordered the 1st in the County Kerry Mystery series to read while I'm in Ireland! Our local library has Carlene O'Conner audio books that I will enjoy when we are home from beautiful Ireland.
Come Through Your Door is an addition to the County Kerry Series by Carlene O'Connor. This darker gritter series than some of the others by this author has a strange beginning with a ghost like woman standing in the rain as Dimpna Wilde and assistant are driving home. Only she is no ghost but Niamh, an employee. What happens next is even more confusing. A murder with a murderer on the run. The question is not whether the murder happened but are they all correctly assuming who the killer is, or do they have it all wrong?
A twisty case with confusion, stalking, suspicions, disappearing evidence, and danger in this not so perfect small town. This is not a case that I could guess the killer or the motives for these women being murdered. Well, not until it was solved by Dimpna and Cormac. Come Through Your Door is an incredibly complicated story that kept me awake at night.
Carlene O’Connor has once again written a beautifully formed mystery/suspense novel, she truly has a gift! The way that the Dingle peninsula is depicted makes me feel a sense of urgency to make the trip. I enjoyed the development of the characters, even secondary. It always fascinates me how she makes even static characters not seem so one dimensional. Regarding the mystery itself, I was terrified. The elements of stalking and intentional terror by the perpetrator felt so real. I couldn’t put the book down. I’ve read each book in the County Kerry series and like that one does not necessarily need to have in order to be able to appreciate the mystery (though it does help to be able understand the interpersonal connections). Overall, the series weaves in real life instances and does it justice. I’m looking forward to Ms O’Connor’s next book.
Very atmospheric and dark with insights into a stalker who has been mentally ill and concussed since childhood. His planning is well described and the execution of his plans and the murders are graphically described. Not my thing, but very well liked by a friend. Make sure you read it during the day. This one will have you looking over your shoulder everywhere you go. It also will keep you guessing the whole time. The story still made me smile because I traveled to this area not long ago. I enjoyed hearing the familiar places. In this one Cormac and Dimpna have to pair up again when another crime lands Dimpna right in the middle of it. We also get to see more of Niamh’s life outside of the vet’s office. She has a new mysterious boyfriend who also seems to be right in the middle of the investigation. I’m beginning to feel like I know these characters. Cormac and Dimpna make a great pair of detectives, and they aren’t as discreet as they thought. I listened to the audiobook, and really enjoyed the narration.
