I was pleasantly surprised when I discovered Find Me by Candi Silk. I would probably classify this as erotica, but it’s more than that. It begins with an odd incident in a restaurant that immediately hooks the reader. I won’t spoil it by saying too much about that scene.

Destiny is a successful woman who owns a business. The man she’s dating is a lazy, sullen person who tries her patience. She is determined to help him develop his abilities and overcome his problems. Out of the blue, an attorney named Clint Star contacts her to inform that her real father had been trying to find her for years. The man is now dead, but has left provisions for her in his will. He asks to travel to North Carolina to discover the truth about her biological dad and to decide whether or not to claim her inheritance. When Destiny arrives, she is shocked to be presented with a home built for her by her dad and Clint. She also meets her father’s wife of many years. As Clint gradually reveals details about her dad, he and Destiny realize they are wildly attracted to each other. The chemistry between them is undeniable. Destiny is a strong contemporary woman and Clint is a modern-day romantic hero. The book is well-written and filled with not only romance, but a bit of mystery and suspense as well. The relationship between Clint and Destiny sizzles. This is, however, an erotic tale not appropriate for underage readers. Find Me is a very adult contemporary romance.

I was impressed with Ms. Silk’s ability to bring her characters to life, while skillfully juggling subplots and various elements of intrigue. The book was a pleasure to read for other reasons as well. It was obviously edited and proofread before release. As an author myself, I appreciate Ms. Silk’s attention to detail and devotion to her craft. I look forward to more fine works by this gifted author.

Another good read from Candi Silk! As I’ve done with Candi’s other erotic novels, I enjoyed reading ‘Find Me’. Destiny James (I love the name!) is a feisty woman who discovers both the love of her life and a new home when she visits the isolated mountain town of Westview in North Carolina. Clint Star is a worthy hero and the mystery of his background is intriguing. In addition, I loved the subplots concerning the romance between Ben and Eva and Destiny’s relationship with Nellie. The book has humour woven into its fabric, especially with the town gossip, Ella. After reading ‘Find Me’, I could envisage myself settling into life in Westview – the cosiness and friendliness of the town, shown through the magic of Candi Silk’s words, are that enticing. Oh, and did I mention that the sex is smoking hot?!

The novel weaves erotica, romance and Destiny’s story very successfully, unlike some romance novels that bypass the sexual element and some erotic books that have no underlying plot. Find Me is well worth a read.
